REHABILITATION

At present, sports facilities are facing huge challenges in design, management and service in order to achieve the satisfaction of their users. Due to the high levels of demand from users, we need to add necessary upgrades relating to security and sustainability which contribute efficiently towards the optimum economic management of said facilities. TECNALIA makes its broad knowledge and experience in the sector available, and always with an innovative and future approach, to developers, construction companies, owners and managers of sports centres and other sports facilities.

SUSTAINABILITY

Collaboration in: Projects for the modernisation of sports facilities to zero-emissions buildings, through correct energy management that allows better use of resources and a saving in the energy consumption and in the investments necessary to upgrade facilities (optimized sizing).

A correct energy management allows better use of resources and a saving in the energy consumption and in the investments necessary to upgrade facilities.

"Zero-Energy" Facilities

The "Zero-energy" facilities of TECNALIA aim at achieving a reduction in the operating costs (energy and maintenance costs) of the sports facilities through multi-disciplinary, global and comprehensive improvements to all the facilities as well as the implementation of more efficient operating

criteria, increasing user satisfaction without introducing counter-productive complexities. We offer significant reductions in energy consumption and CO2 emissions, in line with European Policy: • 30% energy savings. • 30% reduction in CO2 emissions. • Maximum return on investment in 5 years.

"Zero-Energy" Facilities

• Engineering of the energy management system (definition of hardware, system architecture, communications infrastructure, protocols...).

The action plan for "Zero-energy" facilities includes: • Multi-domain assessment of the initial state of the sports centre as regards design, conservation characteristics and operating criteria for all the facilities.

• Integral development of the sports centre management system, including, in addition to engineering, the implementation and support of the system during operating phase.

• Optimization of the architectural design of the building. • Rationalisation/optimization of the indoor environmental conditions for the different activities from advanced comfort and air quality studies. • Definition of the monitoring requirements (necessary for implementing the operating protocols that allow sustained improvement of the efficiency of the sports facilities).

• Optimization of the design of the HVAC, lighting and process installations (total or partial). • Integration of innovative technological solutions and improvements geared towards enabling the transition to advanced control strategies.

• Optimization of the exploitation of available renewable resources, from the design of the facilities to the adaptation of operating criteria oriented towards maximum use of the renewable energy.

• Selection of advanced operating strategies and definition of control rules for enabling the implementation of individual operating/control strategies. • Optimization of the set-point values for the control variables of all the systems.
