-Nickname: kklors; -Age: 28 years old; -Country: Germany; -Studies: Self-taught; -Tools: C4D, Indigo, Photoshop.
“The beginning was tough at first, especially when you realize how much you suck compared to the level you want. Doing things frequently is a great way of improving” Weekly 28: an underwater scene which originally started as a technical experiment. I tried to make use of all physical rendering capabilities the render engine I’m using (Indigo) had to offer. During the process of rendering a physical sun with diffraction through a giant water mas, SSS cube, all the other ideas just came by themselves somewhow. Sometimes technical tests can be nice bases for scenes or when one lacks inspiration.
11
Weekly 33: this one was a somewhat rough concept idea for a game I’m working on. I also added a smaller guy as a size reference so that people could make up their own story when looking at the scene.
“I’m using C4D and I’m very happy with it, especially because it has a toolset for pretty much every task. Sometimes the tools are perfect, sometimes they totally aren’t, but generally it’s a great package. At the end of the day it comes down to what the artist does with it anyway” Weekly 30: a remote place somewhere in the future. Honestly I could never get enough of dusty, greenish Sci-Fi structure scapes, so just felt like making my own interpretation of a well established and old idea.
12
13
Weekly 10: this work is heavily inspired by Far Cry 3 up to the point where I took screenshots as general reference. In the end I heavily underestimated the work load and spent about twice as much time as planned. The scene is lit so it would look like it is sunrise, early in the morning, which I think contributed a lot to the mood of this piece.
14
“The best advice I could give is really to do as much as you can without worrying too much about the tools. Of course some tasks are easier to do with one tool and harder to archieve with another, but trying to understand how images work in general and lots of training is what makes things fancy most of the time 15

“Here in Turkey, there is a writer and 3D model artist whose name is Emrah Celik. He has a book about 3D modeling from which I learned Max. After modeling, the materials and rendering process is most important. I have spent many days on the internet in contact with other 3D users in the community. I was also doing six or seven hours a day of tutorials 18
“Rhino is easy for modeling with nurbs and it also includes measurement tools. Being able to draw is always important, and Rhino offers the chance to do so”

“Some years ago searching for wallpapers, I came across some 3D abstract artworks and I was really impressed. My interest was picked and I started searching for tutorials about abstract rendering. Then, at some point, I found evermotion. org, and this was the start for Archviz”
Relic: the Idea behind this work is an abstract sculpture at a museum, maybe a relic from a lost civilization or from outer space.
20
21
22
Appartment 2: I wanted to visualize a room with classical french stucco parts and modern furniture.
“One day I found a tutorial to model a car. It was hard to follow for me as a beginner, but I learned a lot about modeling techniques. For the rendering, texturing and post processing I studied many sample scenes, making of and tutorials
Relax: was an idea in my head of a bright bathroom with a calming atmosphere.
23
Hidden Garden: is a work based on the scene created by Guillaume Favre called ‘Sleeping’, which I recreated as an exercise.
“In my opinion, the best program to start with is Maxons Cinema 4D. Furthermore, I would also advice people to do as many tutorials as possible” Relax: as in Apartment 2, I wanted to portray a room with classical french stucco and modern furniture.

“In 2010 I studied architecture but I felt I needed to go back to drawing, so I left my work as an architect and here I am, I feel more creative and free as ever, I love what I do. I think I made a good decision”
-Country: Spain; -Studies: Self-taught; -Tools: Photoshop, Painter and Wacom Intuos4 M.
Illuminated: I wanted to draw a human being meditating, arriving at the state of illumination where mind, body and soul are one and you merge with your environment, you disappear for a moment and you return to the source. This is something that happens to me when I’m drawing, I concentrate so much in the drawing that I merge with the illustration, in that moment time and space no longer exist for me.
26
Digital Art
City of Light: is a vision of the future. I wanted to transmit peace, harmony and the idea of a civilization spiritually advanced.
“If you are just getting into digital illustration, it is important that you join some online galleries and communities, this way other people will see your work and you will be known. With time opportunities will come, they always come 28
“Being an artists is to express in the best possible way what is inside you, all your experiences, the things that move you. You portrait things that connect with your inner nature
Seeds: the seed represents for me the potential we all have to create our dreams. It is in our hands for those dreams to become true or not.

Meeting in the Forest: I imagined how the human race would be in a thousand years. The reconnection between humans and nature is essential for the things to come. I imagined that all human beings would be able to communicate with all living plants and live in equilibrium with them.
30
The Chosen One: came up while I begun practicing with Painter, as I liked what I was doing I continued and ended up with this kind of lake nymph.

“I didn’t think one day <<I want to become an illustrator>>, no, it’s just that all my decisions took me in that direction and only afterwards I realized that being an illustrator was what I wanted to do”
July: I love casual drawings, fresh, that transmit good vibes… Summer it always brings me good ideas.
32
33
Blue Tang Mermaid: another mermaid! I think they are super easy to draw, they are funny to do and they look very nice. This time I based my mermaid in the blue tang.
“Sometimes I draw directly with the computer and other times I draw over sketches made with pencil. In some illustrations I use brushes with textures and in others I don’t use the main line of the drawing… I don’t have a fixed way of working. With traditional techniques I like to experiment too and try new things. I enjoy much more the process when working traditionally but working digitally has more advantages and that’s why I use it more” Clown Mermaid: mermaids have always seemed a cool theme to illustrate. When drawing mines, I like to look at real fish, and for this one I chose a clown fish. I enjoyed a lot doing it and after her I made other ones.
34
Transparencia: this illustration is based on the poetry by José Serna Andrés from the book Espejos en el Aire from Siarte Editions. The poem is about the Snow Queen, I made a lot of sketches until I finally liked the outcome. The ice crown of edelweiss was present in all the sketches and is the detail I like the most from the drawing.

The face of all your fears: “the face of all your fears. All of your dreams unleashed”. At the Gates. Work done for Hysterical Mind’s exhibition: Substance.
37
“Art is a way of seeing life: it’s my hobby and luckily my job. I think it would be difficult for me to work in other things”
The face of all your fears: work done for Slashtree exhibition: World Exhibition III.
38
Everything dies: “still looking for someone who was around - barely coping. Now I hate myself - wish I’d die. Everything dies.” Type O Negative. Work done for Envato Psdtuts and HystericalMinds exhibition: Symphony.
“Inspiration is a constant creativity process that filters all the information we receive changing it into communication”
39
Desire: work done for HysterialMinds exhibition: Empathy. The work was to create an illustration with a contrast of colors.
40
The trip: done in collaboration with the composer and musician Jorge GĂĄllego LorĂŠn, who created a beautiful piece for this image.

“I developed my artistic skills watching tutorials, studying other artist’s artworks and just doodling and sketching ideas” Transhuman 2.0 e-volved: next stage of e-volution.
42
“Digital art is cleaner, cheaper and absolutely more flexible, but...you can make only prints of artworks, there isn’t <<original artwork>> on canvas/paper, that is one small minus in my opinion”
BCM - 002: Bio-[cyber]-Mechanical. Some kind of antropomorphic representation of AI.
44
Galaxy Shaper: ancient techno-god, who creates (dreams) galaxies, who shapes them.
“Each picture, even doodles or sketches, give you experience, try to have fun with it, don’t push yourself, whatever you do it’s absolutly better than not doing anything”
BioMech - Helmet: a little inspiration from Space-Jockey helmet.

“My inspiration comes from daily life, songs (often when I hear songs something pops into my mind and I try to put it into my work), books, video games, etc...
-Nickname: Elgha; -Country: Brazil; -Studies: Self-taught; -Tools: Photoshop CS5 and Intuos4 medium.
Jellyfish: most of the time when I start a job I have an idea in mind, but as I paint, the painting changes with respect to what I had imagined, this one is one of those cases. Drawing jellyfish came up when thinking about the background. I think jellyfish are so pretty, there is something magical about them.
46
48
Birds: I imagined her as a warrior elf, friend with birds. Her design is inspired by samurai warriors.
Venus: this painting is another character study, continuing with the theme of garden elves.
“I admire William Bouguereau, his style is simply amazing, the way he portrays beauty in his paintings fascinates me At Nightfall: painting done just for practice.
49
50
Elf: my first work and experiment with lighter skin and metals. I remember that I thought it would be difficult to make the arms, but everything flowed easy and fast. A garden elf.
“Digital art makes the work easier by means of layers, history and brushes. Also changing the colors or using tools like saturation and color balance, makes the work much easier
Fairy of Love: this painting was set to be a painting geared more towards the dark side, with two characters. But I decided to change the course and created the fairy of love, she’s beautiful and she lives in the mountains.

“Being an artist is to share a piece of you with another person. That connection emerges in a positive or negative way and impacts and changes the other person, even if it’s for a moment” My Sanctuary: after a long time drawing anime, my interest in realistic fantasy started with this drawing. It was hard work but I enjoyed a lot doing it.
53
Elemental: I made this work with the idea to sell it as a sticker. I enjoyed doing it because elves are a source of inspiration for me. I always loved the design of their clothes so I try to recreate them in most of my drawings. I work very thorough on all the finer details of the clothes.
Immortal: medieval fantasy is one of my favorite subjects and most recurrent in my drawings. For this drawing I used a new technique, I created the character in grey scale and then added color. I think the experiment was successful because it was easier to control the color palette.
“I started first with color pencils and then Microsoft Paint. When at the age of 17 years old I discovered Photoshop I started to take painting more seriously and not just for pleasure, but to try to evolve and get better Ethereal: I wanted to represent a dreamy and delicate feeling but at the same time I wanted to create a sharp contrast by means of a rigid armor. This work was a commission for a tattoo artist friend to put in his studio. I felt very flattered because I always admired his works and now one of my illustrations will be hanging in his studio and watching him work every day.
54
55
“Sometimes I use art as a cathartic tool from my own experience. I think inspiration can come from anywhere at any time
56
We found peace: this work was a big step for me because of all the details and the realistic background. Fantasy characters are always present in my works. This one is an interesting illustrations because I could record the process (you can watch it in my website).

“It took me two years before I actually started using photoshop, initially I could not understand anything. I started using photoshop as best I could and ended up discovering photomanipulation. I was hooked and soon started to do my creations Wooden: for this piece I wanted to create a female tree, this was my first attempt at this topic.
60
Photomanipulation
62
Faune: for this piece I got inspired by Greek mythology, “faunas”. I gave it a twist and turned it into dark fauna.
“I love myths and legends and I often want to take a fairytale character and create my own vision”
Titania: for this piece I was also inspired by accounts of fairy tales, in this case, Titania and Oberon. I still remember seeing a movie with a representation of Titania. I wanted to push myself and make Titania as I imagined her. Oberon will come soon.
Keeper: for this piece I did not have any particular inspiration.
63
“Never give up and to evolve, try to learn new techniques”
The Fairy Wood: this piece is the result of the series Titania, inspired by accounts of fairy tales. This is a representation of the Fairy Queen Titania.

“It all started in 2007 when I came across deviantART for the first time! I was amazed by the stunning artworks people created by using different images and blending them together. At that time I was going through a really bad time with my personal life and needed something to help me take my mind off things, to help me vent, express my feelings somehow and this is when photomanipulation became a huge part of my life” Try to Break In: I’ve had this idea for a long time and now I’ve finally managed to bring it to life! I think it’s one of my most complicated works and it’s one of the few that I worked so hard on and didn’t leave because I liked the result.
67
Magic: I am really happy with how this one turned out. I wanted to create something new with lots of magic and detail in it...
68
SnowWhite Strikes Back: This is my take on twisting a fairy tale.. what if Show White wasn’t awaken by the kiss of the prince... but by his bite! And now she will have her revenge... I’d love to see such a tale.
“After I graduate with my bachelor degree I plan to devote myself to art just to see where it will take me. My goals are to keep doing what I love, to keep creating and if I’m lucky, to get the chance to work with publishing companies” 69
It Was All A Lie

“Fantastic opportunities may be waiting for you just around the corner so be persistent, don’t get discouraged if you don’t succeed at first, to be honest, I think no one made it on their first try” 71

-Country: United States of America; -Studies: Self-taught; -Tools: Photoshop CS6.
“Inspiration comes from many places. I get ideas when I’m just listening to music, looking at the work of other artists, or just looking out a window. It’s easier to find inspiration by observing as many things around me as possible, rather than just seeing them”
Scattered Ashes: in this piece, the concept is essentially about destruction of one self and been blown away like ashes in the wind.
72
74
Winter’s Soul: I wanted to create something with a prominent Gothic atmosphere to it, and so I used a lot of black and red tones to bring out the dark and eerie feel that I wanted this to have.
“For the longest time, I had no clue as to what photomanipulation even was. But I was amazed at how one can take a set of images and transform them into another. When I discovered how it was done, I felt confident that it was something I could learn to do and I’ve been doing it ever since”
The Moon Forest: an Elven girl in an enchanted forest full of magic and perhaps darkness. The butterfly represents finding peace and happiness in the smallest of things.
75
Exile: this piece represents sadness, and the complete desolation of the angel who has been cast out into the rainstorm.

black behemot http://blackbehemot.deviantart.com http://blackbehemot.tumblr.com
White Crow: one of my older works inspired by a random conversation on the net. The main theme was supposed to be an altar. The first idea and the story behind were formed very quickly. The literal translation in my native language is, a compound idiomatic, meaning something very rare, or person with a different view.
79
Storm: do you know that feeling just before a storm when the cold wind blows and all the creatures try to hide from the coming chaos? I wanted to capture this feeling on paper. I’m not sure if I succeeded but it was very good watercolor practice. The work was inspired by a photo of a small moth.
Spring Boy: work specifically created for a contest. The main theme was spring. The idea behind this work was something innocent and seductive at the same time. The personification of spring is accompanied by magnolia shrubs, that bloom before the leaves and which I consider to be a symbol of this season.
“I don’t think traditional art is better than digital. Art is art, it doesn’t matter whether traditional or digital. But I admit that personally I have greater respect for works done traditionally, due to the fact that they require much more time and sacrifice” Dream: work created completely by accident, just like that, out of boredom and willingness to try something new that was, and still is, new to me - watercolors. The unreality and softness of this work reminds me of a dream.
80
81
Demon: one of those personal works that are rarely shown publicly. Well .... there is a bit of darkness in each one of us.
82
Rot: work created in autumn and inspired by autumn. For me, this is a time full of colors but also for rotten, half dead, stuffy and smelly ground. In this work I have devoted much attention to plants that accompany me at this time of the year, such as Parthenocissus Quinquefolia, Physalis Alkekengi or Calluna vulgaris.

El columpio: night comes with an unexpected message.
“For me, traditional media transmits more, with its imperfections and freshness, than digital art, but I don’t consider one better than the other. I just think it´s important to have a good base in traditional media”
Dark Princess: after three nights since her initiation, the princess starts to feel the thirst.
“I would recommend you to take art with passion and a lot of practice. Lately I have come back to writing a blog where I make quick sketches from ideas that come to my mind”
La novia: and on the sixth day the alliance was about to be consolidated.

“The most important thing that caught my attention from traditional art is the variety of brushstrokes, the contrasts of colors, the softhness of oil paints ,and the good relationship that I can create between mythological and pagan themes
Asking at the gods: tribute to the ancient pagan rituals, it recalls the relashionship between the earth and the blood in a red background.
90
Satyr Night: inspired by the primordial vitality of men according to the Nitzsche philosophy, and is a vision of an enchanted night.
92
93
94
Ancient tales: representation of the god Cernunnos and the goddess Morrigan, just recalling ancient celts legends.
“I use both kinds of art (traditional and digital), but I prefer traditional art because of the great emotions that I feel using traditional tools
Morrigan: is a tribute to the celtic goddess Morrigan in a stylized representation.
The golden past: is a tribute to the lost sparkling age of men and his gods. A mixture of human and divine nature within the sacred animal world.

“Being a very sensitive person I started trying to express all the emotions that were bombarding me since very early in my childhood. I began with music (piano, guitar and violin) then I discovered art, drawing, colours... up to when I decided to try and make of illustration my job”
White Dragon’s Cathedral: it all began with a challenge. ArtOrder.com asked artists to paint an illustration where the main characters were to be dragons. Most of all, the artists had to give relevance to the settings surrounding the dragons and to the effects that dragon’s presence would have had in society. This idea intrigued me. I tried to imagine how religious buildings would have been built if dragons were worshipped. With a sanguine pencil I traced the drawing directly on paper placing shadows and lights. Then I began painting with acrylic.
97
St. George’s Remorse: looking at classical paintings about Saint George’s myth has always made me feel sorrow and pain. For this reason, through this painting, I wanted to show my personal point of view, trying to transmit to the viewer the idea that in life, to every action there is a reaction in a balanced and inevitable cyclic nature. The most interesting thing was reading the comments and different interpretations of the painting that I received. Maybe I was able to communicate something and to stimulate someone’s fantasy, and that is the greatest satisfaction of all.
The Awakened: is an illustration that was specifically commissioned for Shah Mat RPG’s manual. I’ve always been fascinated by some churches architecture, by the majestic and peculiar feeling of “littleness” they can bestow on you. So my choice for the setting fell on the interior of a gothic cathedral. I chose a canvas textured paper because I wanted to give it the feeling of a classical painting. I chose acrylics because of the little time I had available to complete the artwork. I had to paint it all in a week. Every painting that I do teaches me new lessons and this in particular was a very intriguing challenge.
98
Demon Hunter: I’ve grown up playing Diablo, and as soon as I learned that Diablo III was coming out, I decided to create my personal tribute to one of the game’s characters, the Demon Hunter. Usually I prefer to plan in detail the illustration that I’m going to paint, but in this case I left some space to the imagination, especially in the background, where I tried to communicate emotions and movement using instinctive brush strokes and squirts.
99
100
The Unseelie Queen: this is one of the first illustrations I painted and it was part of an art class assignment. I was asked to depict a female magical creature in her birth place, the forest. As always in my artworks, I like to imagine the character’s background so that I can relate myself with the painting and with the character’s emotions. In this case I imagined an Unseelie Queen, confident on the surface and well-aware of her status, but in truth deeply lonely in her forest.

Boreas Encore: The first of my Pre-Raphaelite series of works is a straightforward hommage to John William Waterhouse’s masterpiece “Boreas”...although I have to admit that my version probably strays more towards Edward Coley Burne-Jones in style.

“It wasn’t traditional art that got me interested in arts. It was The Cure that made me want to learn how to draw and create. It was that dreamy, gloomy mood in their music that got my attention. “Painting with traditional tools calms me down and is fun. It’s not about the results, the thing I love the most is the process” Hari 02: was an art-trade experience with the artist Ella Kurki. This nice floral spirit is her character, her name is Hari.

Decadence: this drawing has many years. It was a gift for a good friend of mine who asked me to draw a vampire. At that time I was reading Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle by CLAMP, that is why you might be able to see some references here.
Artichoke Princess: this illustration is based on a fairytale that my mother created when I was a child: a poor peasant keeps young, healthy and beautiful thanks to her magical artichokes. Later I recovered the idea and I was surprised to find out that the artichoke plant has a peculiar and beautiful flower with lovely colors.
“I want to continue learning and practicing as much as I can. I’m aware that I still have a lot of limitations and there’s a long way to go” Fairytale for a friend: I liked the idea of a session of fairytales before going to bed with an unusual listener. This time, this was a gift for my father.

Sanguinius: tribute to the character from Warhammer 40K. He died in an epic battle defending Terra and his ideals beside his father the Emperor. I think it is an interesting character to draw because despite him being from the future he seems to be a character taken from a biblical story with his big wings and golden armor.

1 Step 1: Giving shape to the idea I start sketching with lines and adding splashes of light and dark areas. I do this in grey scale.
2 Step 2: Light and volume I set the light source that will define the volumes and will also help me to create the composition. In this case I decided that the light source was going to be the sun, so it will come from above and be focused on the face. I normally work in different layers, and then when I like the results, I merge them.

Step 3: Color I create a new layer and I start the color process. In this illustration I wanted a soft coloring so I lowered down the opacity of the layer and I started to apply color softly. I usually play with the layer mode, trying multiply, superposition or soft light. 125

Step 4: Changes and details At this stage I keep defining details and making those changes that I believe are necessary, as adding a hand, the ornament on her forehead, and basically whatever comes to mind. Details help to better transmit the story behind the character.
5
Step 5: Effects When I’m happy with the results, I start to add effects. Sometimes these effects make the emotions more intense. For example I added a bit of shine and strong shadows to create more contrast, etc. At the final stages I like to play with the overall color too, I make a lot of tests with the adjustment and color curves until I get the combination I like the most.
