When Chip and Norma Pettigrew made the decision to build with logs they based their choice on the natural beauty and universal visual appeal that log homes convey. After doing a two year study of Log Home Living and a tour of six log home manufacturers, the Pettigrew's decided to entrust Tennessee Log Homes with the Mountainview package for their dream home.

Norma explained, "As soon as we decided on our log home, we began looking at lots of decorating styles. Craftsman style struck us as being beautiful and exactly suited to a log home, because of its emphasis on natural materials, unfussy lines, understated colors, and quality workmanship. Chip did a ton of research online to find the furniture.

Thank you for sharing, Monte and Jan Lowe of Cookeville, TN!
"Monte and I first became interested in
log homes about three years ago. We had just bought a beautiful bluff lot in Cumberland Cove, a mountain development twenty five miles east of Cookeville. We knew we liked wood and a rustic look. Logs were the logical thing.
We started researching various log home companies and attended some seminars and open houses. The seminar at Tennessee Log Homes was most impressive. The staff was not only helpful but very professional. Since Monte is in the wood industry, seeing the manufacturing and dry kiln operation went further to convince us that this was a first class operation," Jan Lowe said.
This Monteagle is filled with family keepsakes and memorabilia.
Reviewing the website and the plan book provided by TLH, Jan and Monte found a plan that suited their needs. This plan was the Monteagle. Their salesman, Phil Florence, who took them to see a Monteagle in the area. Seeing the house already built really went a long way in helping them decide what they wanted. "We especially liked the porch that went all around three sides of the house. We knew that would protect the logs. We also liked the attached garage that the Monteagle has," Jan explained.
"We did buy several oriental rugs (when we moved in). I think we have a weakness for them. They make a house look so warm.”

Like many of our clients, Harry and Patsy Fink planned for their dream home for years. As these photos will testify, their home is filled with remembrances and keepsakes as well as careful attention to detail. There is no sheetrock in this home. Natural, warm wood grain melds with the antiques and carpets.
Family mementos include a vintage two-way saw, scythes, a sausage press, cauldrons, tools and barrels - all a testament to a past where Harry grew up in a family with seven children, working to live off the land.

Antique stained glass windows were used as interior partitions and accents. The view was too precious to cover with opacity.
Fortunately, Patsy shares Harry's passion for reclaiming the past. Their blend of antiques has accumulated from the past 40 years of their marriage. Harry has a lifetime of furnishings for the home. "These things mean the world to me," he said.
These 6x12, dovetailed logs make the most exquisite joinery pattern. No doubt, the craftsman in Harry Fink picked this style.
