ABOUT TENNIS EUROPE The European Tennis Federation is comprised of 50 member nations and is the largest regional association of the sport’s governing body, the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Based in Basel, Switzerland, the organisation takes an active role in developing and promoting tennis across the continent. Over 1,200 international Junior, Professional and Senior tournaments are administered by Tennis Europe staff each year.

Tennis in Europe Europe leads the world in terms of tennis participation and performance, dominating the world rankings and the flagship international team competitions. Europe also excels in the provision of playing opportunities, with international circuits for players ranging from 12 & Under to the Over 85s. Each year, the attention of the entire sporting world focuses on Europe’s two ‘Grand Slam’ events, Roland Garros and the Wimbledon Championships. More than 25 million people play the sport each year, making tennis one of the most popular leisure activities in Europe. A healthy activity that can be enjoyed by players of all ages, tennis is equally popular between genders and can be played both indoors and outdoors, making the sport accessible all year round.

“We work in alignment with the ITF, ATP and WTA and stage more than 400 high level Junior Tennis tournaments and junior team events each year. Our flagship events, the European Junior Championships and the Junior Masters are important milestones on the road to a professional career. Tennis Europe’s competitions and conferences, plus development and educational programmes, offer our commercial partners a wide range of platforms and audiences for their products.” Thomas Hammerl Chief Executive Officer Tennis Europe
