There was a study done in 2002 on fifth graders, 10 year old girls and boys told the researchers they were dissatisfied with their bodies after watching music videos and a majority of television series. Recent studies have proven that the majority of adolescent girls are dissatisfied with their weight and shape. Over 70% of adult women state that the pictures in magazines influence their perspective. Over 55% of men and women announced that magazine images motivate them to lose weight or work out. The majority of teenage girls and adult women are dissatisfied with their bodies and we are all responsible. We really want everyone to understand that we do not promote tiny models that are not realistic. We do not promote airbrushed photography to make them look completely different than their actual selves. We use real people who have real flaws. We are taking a stand against the idea that

beauty is only outward. There is a big difference between being healthy and abusing your body. Health and fitness is about taking care of you from the inside out. You should take care of your vital organs along with your emotional health. You have to love yourself beyond the surface so others can too. If you feel self conscious, than do something about it. No one can change you but you. So go head and find out not how to be a tiny you but a healthier you. A stronger, smarter, more confident, toned and healthier you is waiting. And, this time decide to make a change - FOR YOU!

Spring Rules
Beauty
By Expert Author: Michael Douglas
T
here’s a new sophistication in spring makeup this year. It is neither soft feminine or hard-edged. There is a flash of metal but in pale softness. Make up is minimalist this season by hints of purity but far from perfect.
FRESH SKIN
Give your skin the perfect finish and ditch the bronzer. Spring clean your skin and give it a dewy freshness with a mist of sheer foundation to conceal the flaws. Prep your face with a makeup primer. Dust your face lightly with translucent powder to get a clean finish. Dab a little shimmer cream on the high points in your face to reflect light for a dewy look.
HIP HAIR Like the rest of your look, hair should be fuss free and off your face. Low buns, high ponytails, pulled back braids, loose waves and headbands are trends. Slick back your hair and twist it around to form a low bun at the nape. Pull out a few strands to soften the hairstyle. For a glamorous hairstyle simply make a side part and then pull back the hair into a low chignon. Pull up your hair into a really high ponytail and wrap the base with hair for a sophisticated look. To dress it up, use a wide silk or ribbon to tie up a large bow around the ponytail. A headband is no longer a schoolgirl hair accessory. It now adds femininity to an adult hair do. 8

FULL LASHES
Recreate wide-eyed innocence with some fake lashes. You can go a little overboard with it without feeling guilty. Instead of attaching the whole lash strip, makeup artists cut little lash clusters and glue them in between the real lashes at equal distance. Then pile on mascara to set the lashes. Then enhance the look with a dash of beige or gold eye shadow. If you are not ready to go for falsies, then use a double dose of lengthening and volumizing mascara. Use a lash primer before you apply the mascara to build the volume. Go easy on eye shadow though.

Metals are hot for spring eye makeup. It adds that edge to the spring’s soft makeup. In almost all the major international shows, Chanel, Prada or Donna Karan, models sported variations of gold and silver shadows. Wear metal eye shadows over beige, khaki or brown shade to create an intense look. Ditch the black eyeliner this season. Focus on using dark colors like silver grey, midnight blue or chocolate brown as a liner. In case you cannot live without the staple black eyeliner, then use it to draw a thin line to rim your upper and lower lash lines without extending. It is a corner to highlight the eyes. To get a soft, spring maiden look, use a peach, pink or lilac shade on your lid close to the lash line then blend in silver or gold shadow into the crease.

twist, instead of hi-gloss, the texture is sheer. When choosing a nude shade, go for the ones that have a warm undertone with a hint of gold or terracotta. To get a healthy look, try a peach lipstick or a beige pink gloss. If the rest of your face is muted, then give your lips a full dose of color with a bright pink lip color, rose pink or fuchsia. For a night out pick a bright coral to complement your skin tone. To get a soft matte finish use a lip pencil dipped in lip balm to fill your mouth. Or use a gloss and gently blot away the shine. No harsh lip lines if you want to look hip.

A dash of peach, coral or subtle red blush on your cheekbones will enhance your facial features. Start the blush from your lower apple of your cheeks and lead to the temple. Blend red half way from the cheekbones until you reach your hairline to create a subtly grade look. Choose a blush that has a pearly accent to it rather than a matte effect.

Rules
- He loves and needs and wants and has to have you. Oh yeah, I bet he’s falling for you and is half-way to *ahem* divine inspiration. - He gives you detailed instructions which include not leaving voicemails, not calling at certain hours, failure to even disclose a phone number, a warning that he may disappear for a while, and a request for naughty pictures up front, given that he has to delete them quickly. - Cheating married men are slimy and hardly worth a single girl’s time. Why take half of a half of a half of something, when you can have it all without the drama? - Married women are in the same category, but why repeat myself?
online
dating -----the rules by: Sonja Holbrook
By: Sonja Holbrook
1. Be Honest about Your Dating Status. My personal pet peeve: men who lie about being single. Nothing is more infuriating than a man desperate to break in a new kitten. Signs to look for include: - Picture-less profiles: married men don’t want to be ID’d by their friends or *gasp* 10
| TEQUILA MAGAZINE | WWW.TEQUILAMAG.COM
their wife. - Harried and hurried emails, demanding to meet TONIGHT: he’s got a 2 hour window while his wife is out with the girls and needs to fill it. - The conversation ALWAYS leads to sex: it’s all he’s got on his mind and he doesn’t care who it comes from.
2. No Naughty Pics This shouldn’t even have to be mentioned. First of all, most of these pictures aren’t even artfully taken. Second of all, these pictures are often nothing to be proud of. I can attest that I’ve been visually raped more times than I can count and, adding insult to injury, the offending parties didn’t even grace me. There is nothing pleasing about them. Men, women do not want to see a picture of you or your “boys”. Just because you don’t have a job or a life, and spend hours online taking pictures of yourself to equally aimless and spineless women who having nothing else to do than show off their pancake-like sweater puppies, doesn’t mean the rest of us are panting to see your junk. It’s like naughty men pics and women pics have replaced “Hi, how are you?” “Fine, thank you, and yourself?” STD-ridden sex ensues and we have yet one more generation of idiots, setting humanity back a few steps once and for all. Please, for the good of the species, do not send over your naughty pics.
3. Be Safe - Have a Double Life Meet in a public place. Not his place. Not your place. A public, well-lit and moderately populated place. - Don’t divulge the contents of your TRW. Your address, your work address, your bank and every other piece of confidential information can be used in a myriad of ways to compromise your safety. This is
common sense, but you never know. - Don’t go back to their place. I don’t care how safe you think they are. I don’t care if you feel the need to screw right then and there. You don’t know a person after a few hours, minutes or seconds of meeting. - Use a free email account. When it progresses to private email transmissions, use a free anonymous account, so that your last name isn’t readily available. - Stick with paid dating services. You get what you pay for and it’s pretty safe to assume that if you have to pay for it, typically the low-life population gets weeded out. - Limit the alcohol. It impairs your judgment. Period. - Let someone else know where you’re going to be. Make sure a friend knows where you’re going and what time you’ll be there. Provide them with all of the other person’s information as well. That way the cops will have something to go on when your friend files a missing persons report.
4. Know You Are Not the Only One This isn’t Highlander, there can be more than one. Only the ignorant and the arrogant believe they are the only ones playing the game. Given how dating sites are designed, you’ll never know how many are in line before you. If the woman you are interested in is extremely attractive and you know for a fact that she’s being pursued by every other tool on the totem, you need to do something that makes you stand out. Try speaking up and speaking out. Asking someone to tell you something fascinating about them makes you look lazy and stuck-up. It says you think you’re too good to volunteer any information and too lazy to ask an actual question. If you were truly interested, you wouldn’t waste her time by asking her something so generic. She’ll know you’re sending that email to every other girl and you will be instantly dismissed from her court. Anyone can ask a boring question, but it takes true style to say something really cool.
Example: “I had a next-door neighbor with your name. She was 80 yrs old, grumpy and smelled suspiciously like rotten grapefruit. So I’m glad I found you on here. Even if we never speak to each other, you’ve erased a
traumatic memory with a very classy, very tasteful, very beautiful visual. Thank you for that.” It’s funny and she won’t be able to resist asking you for the story of your neighbor.
5. No Old Pictures - Look Like What You Look Like Putting up a picture and a brief line: “just lookin’ for a honey to spend some time wit” is not the best course of action. For best results, try to adhere to the following: - Use a CURRENT picture. Not one that’s 10 years old or even 5 years old. Because when you meet, they’ll know who you REALLY are. - Don’t brag about who you are. I’m sure you’re very interesting and fascinating, but it will become very clear that you are already in a love affair: with yourself. - Use proper grammar & punctuation. It matters and if a person is too lazy to focus on what they’re saying, then they’ll be even less focused on what YOU’RE saying. - Be HONEST about your circumstances. Be HONEST about your goals. Be HONEST about your agenda. Be honest about who the heck you are and what the heck you’re looking for. - Don’t parade the fact that you’re financially successful. It makes you look like a snob and you’ll only attract other snobs or gold-diggers. - Don’t wear self-pity like it’s a warm, hand-knitted sweater. So you’re divorced. So you just got dumped. So what? If you choose to put yourself out there, then you’re stating that you’re ready to date. Ergo, don’t become the Swamps of Sadness that everyone has to steer clear of. Leave your drama where it belongs – at home, under the floorboards, bound and gagged. There’s nothing noble about wallowing in self-pity. It only makes you look pathetic. - Your profile is an extension of you and is the resume for your personal life. Make it good. 6. Be Gentle Some may not believe that this is important, but when your desires are not reciprocated, there is a proper way to deal with it. If you’re mental SOS isn’t immediately picked up by your date, let them down gently. - “Hey, so thanks for the coffee/drink/dinner. I had a great time, but I really should be
going. I hope you have a great evening. Good Night. - It IS acceptable to arrange a decoy phone call. It gives you an out and you don’t have to lie. Just try not to go over the top with your dramatic exit. Even if you’re not interested, you still should spend 20-30 minutes with this person before escaping. Then you go home and draft an email: - “Thank you again for meeting me. I enjoyed hearing about _ _ _ _ _ and _ _ _ _ _ _. While I did enjoy meeting you, I didn’t really feel that strong a connection with you. Please don’t take offense to this.” You’ve done nothing wrong. Good luck with the site and be safe!
7. Act Your Age - Do Not Lie - This includes uploading pictures of you wearing your 10th grade cheerleader uniform when you graduated 15 years ago. - This means you don’t send a picture of your ripped, surfer 27 yr old son and call it an accident. - This means you don’t list 20 shots of you in the same room, wearing the same shirt, shooting from the same 10 feet up angle, with 20 different facial expressions and calling it “random.” - This means you don’t pimp out your hotter, younger sister because, in reality, you’re a 300lb shut-in who hasn’t thought past phase 1 and fails to realize that when you do meet face-to-face, the conversation will be short and sweet. - “I didn’t think you’d go out with me because of how I looked.” You were right. - Don’t type “I’m 45 years young!” Why men do this is beyond me. You’re still 45 and now, you’re officially trying too hard. - Don’t type “You’re only as old as you feel!” I have the energy of a 12 yr old. Still want to date me? - Don’t type “I’m 50 but I look 30!” Never, ever apologize for your age, unless you’re 16. - Don’t be carrying 100 extra big ones, be pushing retirement and have no sense of humor and then declare you will only date girls if they come gift wrapped and carrying their own stuffed toys. Sicko. Get Bathing
e
ym Tim G S S E L h it w y d a e R Suit
By: Dr. Tunis Hunt Jr
As Spring approaches and the warm weather creeps closer to us, it’s not hard to think about the pools, lakes, and beaches. We begin to envision the fun we will have with our family and friends, as well as, the rest and relaxation that comes with it. We also, however, begin to experience the terror and panic associated with putting on that bathing suit.
I
n an effort to get “bathing suit” ready, many attempt to diet and exercise hoping to eliminate the extra pounds so effortlessly put on over the holiday and winter months. Whether its doing the latest “craze” diet or exercising 28 hours a day, most of you unfortunately will not experience the results that you truly desire. This is because most people do not know how to exercise to maximize FAT loss. Sure they do a good job exerting energy and cutting
calories, but they aren’t utilizing their fat stores for energy. Your body must either use FAT or Sugar for energy. In most instances people use sugar. This is primarily due to a hormone called Leptin and the style of exercise that an individual performs. I want to elaborate on the exercise component for the purpose of this article. So what is the best way to exercise to burn FAT? The best way to become a fat burner is NOT to walk or run on a treadmill for extended lengths of time. Although these aren’t BAD exercises, they just don’t create a fat burning environment in your body. Aerobic exercises like jogging, using an elliptical machine, and walking fast are great ways to get your heart pumping. These exercises increase the levels of oxygen in your blood, as well as, endorphins and can improve your immune system. Great benefits,
but NOT FAT Burning. Research is showing that the BEST way to condition your heart and burn fat is to alternate short bursts of highintensity exercise with gentle recovery periods. This type of exercise, known as interval training or BURST type training, can dramatically improve your cardiovascular fitness and fatburning capabilities. Another major benefit of this approach is that it radically decreases the amount of time you spend exercising, while giving you even more benefits. For example, intermittent sprinting produces high levels of chemical compounds called catecholamines, which allow more fat to be burned from under your skin within the exercising muscles. The resulting increase in fat oxidation increases weight loss. So, short bursts of activity done at a very high intensity can help you reach your optimal weight and level of fitness, in a shorter amount of time In fact a study in the Journal of Applied Physiology showed that interval training enhances the body’s ability to burn fat. Eight women in their early 20s were told to cycle for 10 sets of four minutes of hard riding, followed by two minutes of rest. After two weeks, the amount of fat burned in an hour of continuous moderate cycling increased by 36 percent, and
their cardiovascular fitness improved by 13 percent. So how do you perform Burst training? The concept is to pick an exercise, running, biking, elliptical, jumping, etc. and do it with ALL OF YOUR MIGHT for approximately 45 sec to 1 minute. This should render you exhausted and will require a 2-3 minute break or cool down period. After the cool down or break you then repeat the exercise for 45 sec to 1 min. followed by a break. You repeat this for 4 to 5 cycles. I am also a big fan of resistance training (weight training) and it should be done on the SAME day as your burst training. VERY IMPORTANT: You MUST take a day off after burst training. In order to maximize fat burn you need to rest your body 24-48 hours. Burst training is the exercise to perform for fat burning and if that is your goal I highly recommend you begin to implement it in your workout routine. You will begin to love your shortened workouts and most of all, the decrease of fat. Begin a burst training exercise program today and take another step closer to Achieving Optimal Wellness.
Procura quedar satisfecha y no llena. 4.

123456 Top Fo ods to Fight Cholesterol Cholesterol healthy
Eating does not mean a lack in flavor anymore! If you start taking care of yourself now, getting sick later just might not happen. Try these in your next meals. A little goes a long way.
delicious substitutes
Walnuts
Walnuts contain good cholesterol. Try them next time on your salad, and replace the croutons.

Dance!

Dance!
Dancing is a marvelous form of exercise. Dancing tones and tightens the major muscle groups of the body and can burn as many calories as walking, swimming or riding a bicycle. A half hour session of sustained dancing can burn a lot of calories.
Researchers
have found that hitting the dance floor is as effective as walking or jogging. It is similar to yoga and their benefits. It helps with flexibility, balance, posture and co-ordination and it is thought that it might help to reduce the risk of osteoporosis. So instead of getting expensive gym equipment and workout clothes that you will tire of quickly and will not introduce you to any new people and take up a lot of space in your home, invest in some dancing lessons. Dancing is cheap and convenient – NO GYM REQUIRED. All you really need is a desire to have some fun and the willingness to walk in the door. For most people that have never danced, the hardest part is walking in the door the first time. Have you ever wanted to learn salsa, jive or swing but you are afraid to take part of some dancing lessons? You can get online DVD’s or watch Dancing With The Stars but it’s more fun to go to your local club or studio where other people are learning the same thing. Here is a dance-fitness-exercises routine! A 25 minute program, in which you have to practice some classical dance steps, like this:
-
Move to a Meringue beat – go from one foot to the other with a slight sway of your hips, then go to one side, back to center, the other side, back to center, and so on. Some Cha-Cha moves Move to a Samba beat – toe behind heel, toe behind heel.
-

Add a little Mambo – one, two, three kick… one, two, three kick! And, the best part is… belly dance! This sexy dance helps you get rid of hundreds of calories. Belly dancing can burn 250-300 calories per hour. Some belly dancing classes are full of movement while others spend a lot of time learning finger cymbal rhythms, waiting for corrections from the teacher, or listening to explanations. When practicing at home, use drum solos or fast music, and incorporate a large number of moves that engage the legs and hips. Don’t eliminate slow music and finger cymbal practice from practice time, however, as the skills are important for overall dance skill.
1. It isolates parts of body helping to tone and strength specific muscle groups 2. If you dance energetically, it is great cardio exercise 3. It strengthens the abdominal muscles; therefore, helping to have a better posture 4. It is a great break from the everyday gym routine 5. It is fun! 6. Everyone can practice it, independently of our body size or dance ability 7. It is great for women who love to dance, because they already have some dance rhythm, but really, everyone can do it. 8. It is a very feminine dance that makes you feel feminine and happy with your body so it helps build a positive body image Photo provided by Julianne

By: Ana Guzman

here is no shortcut about appearing sharp and crisp on your wedding day, unless of course, you do not attach much value to it. But if you truly hold the biggest day of your life dear and close to your heart, you cannot afford to appear drab and unfit. Depending on the time that you have before the wedding day, there are several things that you can do to shed some fat and get into shape. First you need to get into some diet that will fasten the burning up of calories in your body. Get nutritional advice on low carbohydrate but healthy food that will lower the levels of carbohydrates being absorbed into your body. Also spread your meal times. Instead of having one very heavy meal at a given time, say, lunch or supper, eat at spread out times during the day in small meal portions. This will help your metabolic rate and ease up digestion and absorption of foods into your body. Many a nutritionist will tell you six mini meals in a day. In short, eat less daily and avoid junk. Another sure way to shed unnecessary weight is to hit the gym real quick. Get onto a weight-loss workout plan with a professional instructor. Work on some weights that will
burn up excess fats and leave your body in the perfect physique in time for the wedding day. Your back, shoulders and chest are the areas you should concentrate much on. Keep to the workout plan without fail and adhere to it religiously. And intensity also matters a lot. Let that short period that you have allocated yourself for exercise be intense and without breaks or interruptions. The ideal allocation of time in the gym is between 30 minutes and one hour for like three times in a week. But make sure not to overdo it. And there are some factors you have to consider. Get your tuxedo at the last possible moment so that any weight loss can be reflected in the size of your tuxedo. And you also have to be realistic. The workout plan should not be torture on you but rather set a target that is achievable. So should be the dietary plan. Don’t expose yourself to malnutrition in the name of dieting. A frail looking groom is no substitute for an overweight one either. Someone said always avoid extremes.
avoiding lazing around. Sometimes the panacea to most overweight issues lies in the simple things we do. If the mall is just a few blocks down the road, opt to walk instead of driving. You will be surprised to find that a considerable amount of calories is burned up in such a simple exercise. In short, your wedding day being some sort of test to your gentlemanness, discipline is highly required of you. Be it in dietary issues or in exercising, you have to show your guests and the world that you truly deserve that beautiful bride. 2010 Hyundai Tucson First Drive Review
Editor's Choice
t
he new 2010 HYUNDAI TUCSON is a 5-passenger, 4-door CRV. It comes in GLS Manual FWD or Limited Auto AWD PZEV. The GLS Manuel FWD has a standard 2 4-liter, I4, 176 horsepower engine with 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. It is a 6 speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The Limited Auto AWD PZEV has a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 170 horsepower engine that gets 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with a 6 speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. I hate to admit it but this is speaking French to me. I do not know much about cars and truly am confused when anyone has tried to teach me. There are some of us who look at things a little differently, we look for details. I am only speaking for a certain part of the population. As I am sure that there are great people who know everything under the hood and what makes a car truly a car. As for me, I had the opportunity to drive the HYUNDAI TUCSON in March and fell in love. The media conference was in Asheville, North Carolina. A perfect location for this sporty vehicle may I add. Now I might not know car talk but I
do know what most of us are looking for in a vehicle and this baby has got it! The TUCSON has a slick, athletic body with great flowing lines. It is very assertive in appearance. It looks like today’s generation – young, sharp, fashionable and modern. The first time I noticed when I sat down was the sunroof. It is Hyundai’s first panoramic sunroof and overwhelming. The sunroof was marvelous! It was from the top of the CRV to the very end of it. It is exactly the kind of sunroof for beach and mountain trips. It has touch-screen navigation with a Bluetooth hands free phone system. The stereo is 360-watt that takes iPod, Aux, or USB. The back-up camera is a plus. There is an eco-indictor to help you know when you are driving eco-friendly but also when you are saving fuel. We all pay attention to different details but this TUCSON is spacious, inexpensive and simple, edgy luxury.
The overall experience we had with the HYUNDAI TUCSON was not expected. We have to give praises to HYUNDAI for thinking of their customers and releasing a car that was affordable, novel, and stylish.

POR QUE YA NO QUIERO SER BELLA By: Rosio Tovar
