P.O.D. Bring Their Full Circle Tour to Warehouse Live P.O.D. (Payable on Death) will be bringing their Full Circle Tour to Warehouse Live this month. The show on Sunday, November 25th will also feature special guests nonpoint, and Islander. P.O.D. (Payable on Death) formed in San Diego, CA, in 1992, and have since charted their own course with worldwide sales exceeding 10 million, hugely successful international tours, and a series of chart-topping radio hits. Over the span of two decades they have released eight studio albums of original songs – including the triple-platinum Satellite – seen chart success with more than a dozen Rock radio hits, including “Southtown,” “Alive,” “Youth of the Nation,” and “Boom,” the Active Rock hit “Beautiful” and their No. 1 single, “Lost In Forever,” received three GRAMMY Award® nominations, and racked up four No. 1 music videos. The band has also contributed songs to numerous major motion picture soundtracks. P.O.D. is Sonny Sandoval (vocals), Marcos Curiel (guitar), Traa Daniels (bass) and Wuv Bernardo (drums). The members of P.O.D. are also active members of a tight-knit music community, collaborating on their own records as well as others’, including Katy Perry, H.R. (Bad Brains), Mike Muir (Suicidal Tendencies), Sen Dog (Cypress Hill), and more. P.O.D. released their ninth studio album, The Awakening (T-Boy/UMe), on August 21, 2015. While they play around with the infectious grooves of reggae and Latin music as well as the heavy deliverance of hip-hop and rock, San Diego’s hard rock four-piece P.O.D. have defined a universal message. They’re born-again Christians and their faith takes a central place in their music. In the SoCal neighborhood of San Ysidro, Marcos (guitar) and Wuv (drums) relished the music they grew up on. San Ysidro or “Southtown” was a multicultural area and working class. While Marcos and Wuv were fond of their jazz and reggae roots, they were young punks in the making. Both loved the gnarl of grunge and took a liking to Green Day, Pennywise, Bad Brains, and the Vandals. In 1992 they got a band together, P.O.D. (short for “Payable on Death”), with Wuv’s hip-hop MC cousin, Sonny, and aimed for something real. Cleveland native Traa joined in 1993 and P.O.D. were on the map. Throughout the ’90s, P.O.D. played countless shows across the nation and sold more than 40,000 copies of their three homemade EPs – Brown, Snuff the Punk, and P.O.D. Live — on their own Rescue Records. Atlantic Records was intrigued by the group’s hardworking ethic and passion for music, inking a deal with P.O.D. in 1998. The Warriors EP preceded the major-label debut of P.O.D.’s
1999 release, The Fundamental Elements of Southtown. “Southtown” and “Rock the Party (Off the Hook)” were powerful singles, pushing the album to go platinum. P.O.D. earned top honors for Best Hard Rock or Metal Group, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Rock the Party (Off the Hook)” at the 1999 San Diego Music Awards as well. A year later and with the buzz still going, P.O.D. hit the road with Ozzfest 2000 and shared dates with Crazy Town and Staind for the MTV Campus Invasion tour. They also ventured into films, contributing several songs to various soundtracks. “School of Hard Knocks” proved successful in the Adam Sandler comedy Little Nicky in 2001, whereas additional tracks featured in the Al Pacino sports thriller Any Given Sunday and Ready to Rumble maintained P.O.D.’s growing status. A second album for Atlantic, Satellite, was recorded with Howard Benson in spring 2001. Benson captured the magic once again, and P.O.D.’s stature exploded later that year, hot on the heels of the spiritual chaos of debut single “Alive.” “Youth of the Nation” scored again for P.O.D., as its positive mix of hiphop, reggae, and hardcore punk defined a different kind of rock next to the likes of Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, and Korn. Controversy hit the P.O.D. camp in 2003 when founding guitarist Marcos left the band. However, P.O.D. were soon back on track, tapping ex-Living Sacrifice guitarist Jason Truby as a replacement and recording the Satellite follow-up Payable on Death. Heavy touring followed, and stretched all the way into late 2004. Early the next year, P.O.D. reconvened in the studio, this time with Glen Ballard behind the board, and the Top Ten hit Testify appeared in early 2006. The year 2006 proved to be another transitional year for P.O.D. as the bandmembers announced they were leaving longtime record label Atlantic. Soon after, they released the Rhino compilation Greatest Hits: The Atlantic Years. Also that year, guitarist Jason Truby left the band — purportedly on the same day that original guitarist Marcos Curiel asked to rejoin. The band’s seventh studio album, When Angels and Serpents Dance, followed in 2008. In 2012 P.O.D. released their eighth studio album, Murdered Love, featuring production from Howard Benson, who had worked with the band on Satellite. Benson was once again on board for the group’s 2015 studio effort, Awakening, which also featured a guest appearances from In This Moment frontwoman Maria Brink and Sick of It All’s Lou Koller. Be sure to join P.O.D. this month at Warehouse Live this month along with nonpoint and Islander. It’s going to be a BLAST!!!

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons Releases “The Big Bad Blues” -Performs at Revention Music Center November 9thZZ Top legend Billy F Gibbons’ will be returning to Houston for a show at Revention Music Center on November 9th. He is touring in support of his second-ever solo release, The Big Bad Blues, which was released just last month on September 21, 2018. This is the follow-up to his acclaimed 2015 Afro-Cuban-flavored solo album Perfectamundo. The Big Bad Blues, as the title suggests, focuses on Gibbons’ lifelong love of the blues and rock & roll, showcasing the blues-influenced vocals and guitar licks that have together served as the foundation for his numerous hits over the past five decades. The album features 11 tracks balancing some classic covers like “Rollin’ and Tumblin’” and “Standing Around Crying,” along with some of Billy’s signature new blues originals. “We successfully made our way through those uncharted waters with the Cubano flavor of Perfectamundo and completed the journey,” says Gibbons in distinguishing The Big Bad Blues from its predecessor. “The shift back to the blues is a natural. It’s something which our followers can enjoy with the satisfaction of experiencing the roots tradition and, at the same time, feeling the richness of stretching the art form.” Gibbons, of course, has long been one of the most important and influential artists to emerge from the blues traditions, carrying it forward in a career honored by his 2004 induction, with ZZ Top, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As he notes, he was blues-influenced “right from the beginning—and it’s never let up.” “There’s something very primordial within the art form,” he says. “Nobody gets away from the infectious allure of those straight-ahead licks!” He notes it would take many hours just to scratch the surface surrounding this enduring love affair: “I suspect Jimmy Reed did me in early on. The inventiveness of that high and lonesome sound remains solid and stridently strong to this day. We could go on to mention the lineup of usual suspects, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy, all three Kings [B.B., Albert and Freddie]. The lengthy list of champions are forever carved in stone.” After the success of Perfectamundo, Concord Records president John Burk expressed his intent on following up with another artistic offering with a more familiar, bluesy kind of content. “Billy has an incredibly deep knowledge of the great blues tradition and has carried that tradition forward in his music throughout his incredible career. Therefore, it seemed natural to do a project that centered on his musical roots, and the music that so inspired him from the very beginning.” Gibbons remarked, “We were delighted to follow suit: It’s steeped in the tradition of ‘BFG meets blues giants’ with an adventurous expression to keep it fresh.” BFG and Burk met in an underground parking garage of a favorite Hollywood bistro from the comforts of JB’s top-down ride, playing some tracks, LOUD, with the music bouncing off the walls beneath a couple floors of raw concrete.”… Gibbons got the nod. He and his “greasy” gang of unbridled players were delivering the goods. “From deep in the heart of Texas, our Hammond organ specialist, Mr. Mike Flanigin, stepped forward and accepted the invitation to step from the B3 bench to take on the task of pounding the ivory 88’s,” says Gibbons, adding, “Great piano stuff from Mike ‘The Drifter’ Flanigin. “Master of the Fender Bass-guitar, Joe Hardy lent his low-down sound with his fearless funkiness, SO fine! “Also, in the mash-up mix, the man-withthe-backbeat-plan, Greg Morrow. G keeps the skins alive and kickin’. And while we’re on that backbeat thang… “Matt Sorum steps forward with his super-syncopation, thrashing the skins like no buddies business. “Alabama–come-California soulster Austin Hanks, roughs up the riffs with his left-handed six-string electric. Have mercy!” Gibbons himself shares the harmonica chops with James Harman who has appeared over the years doin’ that Mississippi-sounding thing.

November 2018
“James is the fastidiously fierce follower of the real deal when it comes to blowing’ the harp. “As for the album content, check it out… Hey now! “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” he says. “It’s no secret there are several favorites from the wayback starting with not one, but two, from the Bo Diddley catalog [‘Bring It to Jerome’ and ‘Crackin’ Up’]. We dusted off an old Gretsch Duo-Jet guitar which put it squarely with that infamous Bo Diddley sound. Once covered, we made way into another side—a much earlier number from Muddy Waters, ‘Standing Around Crying.’ The ragged edges with the meanness of James’ bad self on harp seemed to fit the bill to enter the lineup.” As for favorites, Gibbons notes, “‘Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’ is a gift from Miz Gibbons. She knows what girls want and laid it out cold. And ‘Second Line’ is a definite throwback to many good days and nights down New Orleans way. “Other tracks on The Big Bad Blues are
easy pickin’, sayin’ it all. It’s a street affair.” With his signature beard and African headgear, Billy F Gibbons is instantly recognizable. He’s best known as the centerpiece and one third of ZZ Top, the band that came together in 1969 and has stayed part of the American musical landscape ever since – the longest running major rock band still composed of its original members. Billy and band mates Dusty Hill and Frank Beard were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, most appropriately by Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, a longtime friend of Billy’s. His singular look notwithstanding, Billy’s even more notable for having been recognized as one of the most inventive and dexterous guitarists of the rock era. Gibbons is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest guitarists working in the blues-rock idiom. ZZ Top’s sound owes much to his uncanny knack to squeeze unheard of sounds out of the electric guitar that resonate with the blues, pop, r&b, country, gospel, western, hillbilly and West African influences that coalesced
when rock ‘n roll was born. His almost subconscious awareness of this heritage makes his an approach that is, at once, innovative and authentic. As a vocalist, his down ‘n dirty growl is unmistakable; he sounds ominous and mirthful at the same time, as listeners to such hits as “La Grange,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Cheap Sunglasses” can attest. Before ZZ Top, who would go on to become a living symbol of the State of Texas, Billy fronted several bands during his formative years growing up in Houston, and soon became a local phenomenon. The Moving Sidewalks was his psychedelic pre-ZZ Top group and had occasion to open for Jimi Hendrix, who was so taken with young Gibbons’ fretwork that he called it to the attention of Dick Cavett on national TV. Now, as then, Billy Gibbons is much more than an iconic guitar slinger with a monumental length of chin whiskers. He’s an internationally recognized collector of guitars and cars, a fact chronicled in the best-selling book he wrote about his collecting obsessions, Rock + Roll Gearhead (MBI Publishing). His guitar collection today numbers more than 800 instruments and includes the famous “Furry One,” as seen in the “Legs” video, and his most cherished guitar – “Pearly Gates,” a Gibson Les Paul that he values above all others. Years ago, when Gibbons visited the childhood home of Muddy Waters on Mississippi’s Stovall Plantation, he noted that a massive cypress timber that had been part of the shotgun shack’s roof had fallen. He was gifted with the huge piece of lumber and commissioned a guitar to be made out of it in tribute to Waters, a longtime hero of Billy’s. Thus was born the “Muddywood” guitar that was soon donated to the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale where it is on display to this day. The cars he’s built over the years have become stars in their own right: Eliminator, CadZZilla, Kopperhead, Whiskey Runner and others have been major attractions on the car show circuit and have been seen in numerous videos. They are works of art – literal museum pieces. Eliminator has been on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, and CadZZilla, Coupe de Grace, Slampla and HogZZilla were part of the Petersen Automotive Museum’s Cars & Guitars of Rock ‘n Roll exhibition in Los Angeles, for which he served as Creative Consultant. Beyond guitars and cars, Gibbons has a renowned collection of African art, and an abiding interest in both the paranormal and cutting-edge technology. Apart from his work with ZZ Top, he’s recorded with such notable artists as B.B. King, Les Paul, Queens of the Stone Age, Shemekia Copeland, Kid Rock, Alice Cooper, Johnny Winter, John Mayall, Sue Foley and others. In 2015, Concord Records released Billy’s debut solo album, the Afro-Cuban flavored Perfectamundo, which was followed by performances at the Havana Jazz Festival. Now, its follow-up, also from Concord, comes The Big Bad Blues, out in the fall of 2018. Co-produced by Gibbons and Joe Hardy, it is just as the title suggests – a return to Gibbons’ blues roots. The Big Bad Blues contains BFG-ified renditions of songs associated with some of his heroes – “Standing Around Crying” and “Rollin’ & Tumblin’” by Muddy Waters, and “Crackin’ Up” and “Bring It To Jerome” from the Bo Diddley canon. These are joined by nine originals, including one written by Gilligan Gibbons, a/k/a Mrs. Billy Gibbons. Recorded in his hometown of Houston at Foam Box Recordings, the album features Hardy on bass, drums by Guns N’ Roses/ Velvet Revolver/The Cult veteran Matt Sorum as well as Nashville session great Greg Morrow, and Austin stalwart Mike ‘The Drifter’ Flanigin on keyboards. Blues harp (harmonica) duties were handled by James Harmon as well as Billy who, of course, is the album’s vocalist and guitar slinger nonpareil. A musician’s musician, Billy F Gibbons is a wellspring of what he likes to refer to as the “three T’s”: tone, taste and tenacity. His transcendent creativity in a broad variety of artistic and intellectual endeavors has stood him in good stead over the years underscoring his undisputed status as music’s most highly regarded Renaissance man.

Silverstein Perform at White Oak Music Hall Silverstein are beginning their 15th Anniversary Tour this month, celebrating their landmark debut album When Broken Is Easily Fixed. The additional leg takes place in early 2019. The first leg kicks off November 9 in Detroit and runs through December 16 in Toronto in the band’s native Canada. The tour will touchdown this month at the White Oak Music Hall on November 27th. Silverstein will also perform two sets on this run. One set will feature the band performing When Broken Is Easily Fixed in full, followed by a second set of “greatest hits.” Special guests on both legs are Hawthorne Heights, As Cities Burn, and Capstan. ”As hard as we work on pushing forward with our new music, it’s fun to reminisce and I think important to give some love and respect to the music that started it all for us and the fans who have supported us since the beginning,” said singer Shane Told previously said about the anniversary tour. “We’ve never been a band to tear down or insult our older material, and I’ve always said we will always show it the respect it deserves. This tour is doing exactly that.” Told continued, “It’s going to be an emotional ride for sure. But I know we’ll all have smiles on our faces the whole time. It brings us back to an era of innocence and excitement, getting into our beat up van with the heat permanently stuck on, and driving all over America for the first time.” He finished, “We’re going to be able to do things, production-wise, we simply couldn’t have done 15 years ago because we didn’t have the budget — and in some cases the technology wasn’t there yet. This is going to be the best you’ve seen our band — we’re pulling
out all the stops.” Longevity is a rare feat for any band, especially one rooted in a foundation of punk and hardcore. Aggressive music is often fueled by youthful fire, and sustaining a career without completely abandoning that urgent sound is almost impossible for most bands. But what’s possible for “most bands” has never been a concern for post-hardcore pioneers Silverstein. Throughout the course of their 17year career, from Ontario basement shows to touring the world and selling over a million records, Silverstein has always managed to be completely comfortable in their own skin while never being afraid to challenge themselves. This perfect balance marks the band’s eighth full-length, Dead Reflection—an album that proves Silverstein still has plenty of fire left. Silverstein have released an album every odd year since their 2003 debut, When Broken Is Easily Fixed, and that drive is paramount to why the band remains one of posthardcore’s most relevant and influential acts. This consistency shows an uncommonly clear path of growth from album to album as the band honed the aggressive-to-melodic contrast that became their signature sound. Dead Reflection marks a sharp jump in that evolution: the band pushed themselves harder than ever before, resulting in an album the takes all of Silverstein’s strengths—pummeling riffs, explosive dynamic shifts, and huge, anthemic choruses—and ramps up the intensity. Guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau co-produced Dead Reflection with Derek Hoffman, leading to a level of collaboration with which band had never experimented before. After years of creating and touring, the members of Silverstein have each become accomplished musicians in their
own right while still summoning the same unbridled ferocity that marked the band’s early days, and it’s this fusion that makes Dead Reflection feel so vital. Vocalist Shane Told has always been a master of taking his darkest times and channeling them into compelling songwriting, and Dead Reflection ups the ante as the singer documents his most troubled year. The tumultuous end of a long relationship sent Told into a self-destructive spiral that left him isolated and forced to confront who he truly was with everything stripped away. All of the positivity that had previously come so easily suddenly felt put-on, like a costume that never quite fit, and as the people closest to him were all entering new phases of life with new responsibilities, the singer found himself feeling more alone and nihilistic than ever. In the end it was Silverstein, the one constant in Told’s life, that brought him back from the brink. With the prospect of writing a new album on the hori-
zon, he thew himself into the process, fully exploring the bleak narrative he was living out. Dead Reflection became a sort of “What-if?” version of Told’s life, a cautionary tale urging listeners to find out what really matters and challenge their own masks before it’s too late. Writing proved to be as cathartic as it was harrowing, and slowly Told began to feel the weight of the past year lifting; Silverstein had been there for him just when he needed it most. Dead Reflection is an album that couldn’t exist without everything that’s come before it, a culmination not just of Silverstein’s sonic growth, but also the personal journeys entangled in the band’s career. Longevity was never the objective, but that drive to deliver their absolute best, no matter what the cost, is exactly why the band remains at the top of their game after almost two decades. For Silverstein there is no settling, no stopping, and they give nothing less than everything.

Puddle Of Mudd Rocks The BFE Rock Bar Imperial Vapor Co. presents Puddle of Mudd, Saturday December 1st, 2018 at the BFE Rock Club. Puddle of Mudd is an American rock band formed in 1991. To date, the band has sold over seven million albums and has had a string of No. 1 mainstream rock singles in the United States. Their major-label debut Come Clean has sold over five million copies. They have released two independent and four major label albums, with their latest being Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate in December 2009, and their most recent compilation album being re:(disc)overed, released in August 2011. Puddle of Mudd was formed on September 13, 1991, in Kansas City by Wes Scantlin (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Jimmy Allen (lead guitar), Sean Sammon (bass), and Kenny Burkitt (drums). According to Scantlin, the band name was inspired by practicing next to the Missouri river levee, which always inundated the band’s practice space, but never ruined their equipment since they were on the second floor. In order to get to their practice space, the band “had to walk through a pile of shit.” The group’s first album, Stuck, was released in 1994 on V&R Records. The album was produced by the band and E.J. Rose, and was recorded at Red House Studio in Lawrence, Kansas. It spawned two radio singles (the first was “You Don’t Know”, the second “Drift and Die”). Minus Jimmy Allen, the group released a second album, Abrasive, in 1997 on Hardknocks Records. It had eleven tracks, all written by the band, three of which would eventually make it on to Puddle of Mudd’s first major label release. Differences of opinion and other factors led to the break-up of the original Puddle of Mudd by early 1999, leaving Scantlin as the only original member. Kenny
and Sean were still in the band, and Wes had gone out as a DJ for his girlfriend. Scantlin’s big break in the music business came after a copy of his demo tape was delivered to Fred Durst. Durst contacted Scantlin, and after hearing that his band had broken up, decided to bring him to California to attempt to put a new band together. One of the first people Scantlin met upon arriving in California was Doug Ardito, an intern at Interscope Records. When Scantlin found out about Ardito’s bass playing, they decided to work together. They were still in need of a guitarist and drummer. Fred Durst decided to contact a guitarist he knew from his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, Paul Phillips, who had formerly played in a local band there called Happy Hour. After getting the call from Durst, Paul decided to try out for Puddle of Mudd and was accepted, choosing to leave college in order to join. The band held auditions for a new drummer and selected Greg Upchurch, who was an ex-member of Eleven and had also toured with Chris Cornell. Puddle of Mudd released its major-label debut album Come Clean on August 28, 2001. The lead single from the album, “Control” was successful. It was also the theme song for WWE’s Survivor Series 2001, which was critically acclaimed. The second single off the album, “Blurry”, co-written with Sean Sammon, Kenny Burkitt, Jimmy Allen and Doug Ardito, turned out to be Puddle of Mudd’s most successful single, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 8 in the UK Singles Chart, and also winning an ASCAP song of the year award for Ardito, Allen and Scantlin. The song was also used in the game Ace Combat 5, published by Namco. “Drift & Die” co-written by Jimmy Allen was also released as a single spending six weeks
at the No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Chart. The fourth single, “She Hates Me” co-written by Jimmy Allen was released in late 2002, and reached the No. 1 spot on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, as well as No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Allen and Scantlin won the ASCAP award for most played rock song of the year. The group then embarked on a European and American tour as the opening act for Godsmack and Deftones, and were also a part of the Family Values 2001 tour, alongside Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots, and Staind. The album was certified triple platinum in the U.S. by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on January 31, 2003, and as of late 2006, total sales worldwide were in excess of five million copies. On October 9, 2007, the band released their third major label record, Famous. The first single, “Famous”, was leaked through the band’s Myspace page and radio in July before the CD was released. Another track, “Merry Go Round”, was released through iTunes before the official release. The following single, “Psycho”, topped both the Mainstream Rock Tracks and Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts for nine weeks. “Livin’ on Borrowed Time” and “We Don’t Have To Look Back Now” were the final singles released. In the spring of 2007, the band went on tour supporting Hinder and Papa Roach on the Door to Dorm tour. Their song “Famous” was the WWE One Night Stand 2007 official theme song and was also featured in the video game WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008, as well as UFC 2009 Undisputed. In 2009, former guitarist Paul Phillips rejoined the band after replacement Christian Stone was let go on good terms. Around this time the band recruited Famous producer Brian Howes to begin recording a new record in Vancouver. Prior to the new album’s release, band members said the album’s name would be called ‘Jacket on the Rack’. However, it was changed to Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate. Released on December 8, it
has gone on to sell around 100,000 copies. The first single, “Spaceship”, was released in October 2009. On February 10, 2010, a new song, “Shook Up the World”, was released. The song was written for Team USA for use in the 2010 Winter Olympics. All proceeds from the song went to Team USA. Although intended for release during the Olympics, the deadline was missed. The band released a cover album titled re:(disc)overed on August 30. The release featured covers of songs originally by The Rolling Stones, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, AC/ DC and others. According to original bassist Sean Sammon, it was confirmed that the band’s first two albums, “Stuck” and “Abrasive”, would be re-released sometime in late 2011. Ardito rejoined the band in 2011 and proceeded to tour with them. Ryan Yerdon was also replaced by Shannon Boone. The band posted several online updates during 2012 suggesting that they were writing and recording a new album. Wes Scantlin was interviewed about his latest arrest for vandalism on July 2013, where he was quoted as saying “We have tons and tons of new hit songs. I write every single night, and we record all the time. We’re getting ready to go in and do the record, tour a little bit for the summer, and then do the full production and get back on the scene.” On May 17, 2016 the band announced that they will be taking part the Make America Rock Again super tour throughout the summer and fall 2016. The tour will feature other artist who had success throughout the 2000s including Trapt, Saving Abel, Alien Ant Farm, Crazy Town, 12 Stones, Tantric, Drowning Pool, P.O.D. and Fuel. All throughout 2017 & 2018, the band continues to tour. They are just coming off their very successful European tour, and coming to Houston TX. Imperial Vapor Co. Smile Empty Soul Returns To Houston Smile Empty Soul will be performing this month at The Concert Pub North on November 23rd and at the Scout Bar on November 24th. The band is touring in support of their new album, “Oblivion.” Already the band has released two singles off the album. The first two singles from “Oblivion” are “Stars,” and “Sides.” Oblivion was released on May 25th (15 years almost to the day after their Gold selling debut). Smile Empty Soul has become known for their constant touring and never wavering, honest sound and lyrics. Now, with their new album Oblivion, and a calendar full of tour dates, the band seem to have established themselves as one of the defining underground rock groups of their generation. Originating out of Los Angeles in the late 1990’s, the band has stayed true to their brand of “no bullshit”, “real as it gets” hard rock to this day. Smile Empty Soul is a heavy alternative trio, formed while its three members were still in Santa Clarita, California high schools in 1998. Led by singer/guitarist Sean Danielson, the band also included drummer Derek Gledhill and bassist Ryan Martin. After honing their sound with numerous hometown gigs, Smile Empty Soul began venturing to the Sunset Strip, and eventually passed a demo to Todd Parker of the Los Angeles indie label ThroBack Records. That exposure led to a deal with Jason Flom’s Lava imprint, which was expanding in the wake of early signee Kid Rock’s white-hot success. The trio hooked up with producer John Lewis Parker, who was at the helm for their self-titled debut, issued by Lava in May 2003. With its screeching guitars and Danielson’s rage-filled vocals, the album was indebted to the alternative sounds of the early ’90s. As the band recorded their follow-up in 2005, Gledhill parted ways with the band and Dominic Weir temporarily filled his position before he was subsequently replaced by Jake Kilmer. They also recruited guitarist Mike Booth (Cold). Anxiety was scheduled for release in 2005, but a split with Lava kept the album from seeing the light of day. Their de facto sophomore LP, the freshly recorded Vultures, was released in 2006. After promotional touring for the album, Booth amicably parted ways with the band. In 2009, Anxiety was finally
released through their own MRAfia Records label (along with a bonus DVD version, More Anxiety). The band also released their fourth full-length, Consciousness. In 2012, Smile Empty Soul released a fifth album, the sharply polished 3’s, on eOne Records. It was quickly followed by Chemicals (Two Disciples/Pavement). In early 2016, they released the Shapeshifter EP, which was split between re-recordings of hits from their debut, as well as three new songs. In October 2016, the band stated via their Facebook page that in early 2017, they planned to release a compilation album consisting of 13 rare and unreleased tracks. On 10 December 2016 the compilation album was announced as Rarities as well as artwork and some track names. In September 2017, the ensemble announced via their Facebook page that Kilmer and Martin would be parting ways with Smile Empty Soul, leaving Danielsen as the only remaining original band member. Mark Young, originally from Hed PE and Victor Ribas, originally from HURT, then joined the band as both touring and recording musicians on bass and drums/percussion/vocals respectively. In May 2018, Young announced his departure from the ensemble. On May 25, 2018, the band released their new album, Oblivion.

Journey Tribute Escape Perform at The Concert Pub North for their ‘Songs For A Cause’ Festival and Fundraiser We dropped by the Concert Pub North for their annual “Songs For A Cause” Music Festival and Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness and the place was packed. The turnout for the show was fantastic. We’re not sure how much money they raised, but we’re told it was a good amount. The Festival and Fundraiser featured many venders, giveaways, auctions and many bands. When we got there, Houston’s premiere Journey Tribute, Escape, was on stage. It was great seeing all the folks there sing along with the band and really get into the show and the occasion. If you haven’t seen Escape yet, make sure you do. Although we have a couple of videos for you to watch from this night, nothing takes the place of seeing Escape live. The band is filled with seasoned pros that really know how to entertain a crowd. Make sure you put this on your ‘must do’ list. In the meantime you can start watching our videos on HMNTV - Houston Music News Television now! We’ve included a couple of pictures from this event to share with you. Of course, the big picture is Escape and from left to right: Some of the auction items, one of the booths there, Sherree B. and Donna Connors - Sherree’s friend and the visionary for this event, and Sherree’s son Julian with some friends outside selling art to help raise money. Our congratulations goes out to J.D., Sherree B., The Concert Pub North, and all the people that helped participate to making “Songs For a Cause” a big success in the fight against Breast Cancer.

Slayterica Perform at The 19th Hole
Tonight we saw a tribute act at the 19th Hole that literally blew us away. They are called Slayterica and they are a tribute to Pantera, Slayer, and Metallica. Talk about covering all the bases, these guys really packed a power performance into one set that just was fantastic. Slayterica is based out of Austin, Texas. The band is comprised of Derek Halfman (Killa Maul, Black Thorn Halo) - guitars ,Keith Ploeger (Snake Skin Prison) – Vocals / Bass , Eric Anthony (Powderburn) - guitars, and Marc Coronado (The Crowned) - Drums/ Vocals. These guys really captured the essence of all three bands they perform a tribute too. Performing three tributes at one time can be a bit tricky, but let me tell you, nobody got bored at this show. They bounced back and forth from Pantera, Metallica, and Slayer, giving you a great taste of each band and keeping the sound very authentic from one band to the next. If you’re into something a bit heavier, then you really need to check these guys out. In the meantime you’re just going to have to settle with the videos we took of them performing this night until they come back to the Houston area. You can start watching Slayterica, the world’s ONLY Pantera / Slayer / Metallica Tribute right now on HMNTV - Houston Music News Television at http://www.houstonmusicnews.net

One of our favorite Blues bands was performing over at Cruiser ’s Ice House in Santa Fe, so we headed over there to see The Hipwaders Flying Circus. We always have a lot of fun with these guys. In fact, we’ve known some of them for a very long time. Bassist Art Elder has been one of our friends since High School. And we’ve known Saxophonist / Harpist Clint Boyd for more years than we can remember. I don’t know who has more fun at their shows.... The Hipwaders, or the audience. It’s a toss up. At any rate, everybody has a great time at a Hipwaders Flying Circus show. Guitarist Dennis Clapp was hot tonight as he ran the fretboard on his guitar. This guy knows how to play the blues. King’s X Perform at the Scout Bar November 30 Kings X have announced their upcoming new tour dates and they will be kicking off this leg of their this month with a special intimate performance at the Scout Bar in Webster on November 30th. King’s X that combines progressive metal, funk and soul with vocal arrangements influenced by gospel, blues, and British Invasion rock groups. The band’s lyrics are largely based on the members’ struggles with religion and self-acceptance. King’s X was ranked No. 83 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. Since being signed to Megaforce Records in 1987, King’s X has released twelve studio albums, two official live albums, and several independent releases. The band’s most recent studio album, XV, was released in 2008 on the InsideOut Music label. Since leaving Atlantic Records, following the release of Ear Candy in 1996, King’s X has released albums through Metal Blade Records, InsideOut Music and independently. Each member of the group has recorded several solo albums and have made numerous guest appearances on other artists’ albums, as well as participated in numerous compilation projects. Doug Pinnick and Ty Tabor also have many albums released with side bands in which they participate. Few hard rock bands are as widely respected yet criminally overlooked as King’s X. The trio (bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick, guitarist/vocalist Ty Tabor, and drummer/vocalist Jerry Gaskill) seemed destined for the big time with their irresistible blend of melodic Beatlesque harmonies, metallic riffing, and prog rock detours, yet for reasons unknown, never truly broke through to a mainstream audience. Pinnick first met Gaskill when the duo was touring with the Christian rock outfit Petra, and soon after, met up-and-coming guitarist Tabor. The trio joined forces in 1980 with the Top 40 cover band the Edge and thoroughly played the Missouri bar scene. By 1983, the band had changed its name to Sneak Preview and was now completely focusing on original compositions — resulting in an obscure and very hard to find self-titled debut album released around this time. Sneak Preview were offered a recording contract in 1985 if they relocated to Houston, TX, which they did, but the deal failed to materialize. Undeterred, the trio continued on and perfected its sound and songwriting further, catching a break when ZZ Top video producer Sam Taylor took the group under his wing, helping it secure a recording contract with New York’s Megaforce label in 1987, and suggesting that the band change its name to King’s X (the name of a local outfit that Taylor was an admirer of back in his high-school days). In 1988, King’s X released their debut album, Out of the Silent Planet. Despite praise among critics, the public didn’t know exactly what to make of the group’s original and multiple genre-encompassing style, and the album sank without a trace. But with the band’s sophomore release, 1989’s classic Gretchen Goes to Nebraska, a buzz began to develop around King’s X in the metal community, as members of Anthrax and Living Colour praised them in the press, and MTV granted a few airings of their anthemic track “Over My Head.” The stage was set for the group’s big breakthrough, and things appeared to be going according to plan when the band’s third release, Faith Hope Love, surfaced in late 1990. The album just missed the U.S. Top 30 and nearly reached gold certification, due to landing a lengthy spot opening on AC/DC’s sold-out arena tour in both the States and Europe, while the Beatlesque “It’s Love” received major air time on MTV. It appeared as though the change had refueled the group’s musical desire once again, as evidenced by the Brendan O’Brien-produced stellar 1994 release, Dogman, which performed respectfully on the charts. This success resulted in the band opening shows for Pearl Jam and a show-stopping performance on the opening night of the mammoth Woodstock ’94 festival. Atlantic Records began putting pressure on the trio to deliver a breakthrough hit but when Ear Candy failed to live up to expectations, King’s X left the label (Atlantic would issue one more release from the band a year later, The Best Of, which

featured 13 fan favorites, as well as three unreleased compositions and a live track). In 1998 the group signed to the Metal Blade label, as both Pinnick and Tabor issued their first solo albums (Tabor with Moonflower Lane and Pinnick with Massive Grooves, the latter issued under the alias Poundhound), followed by the group’s seventh studio release overall, Tape Head. Now free to issue albums at their own pace, the group issued two more albums only a year apart – 2000s Please Come Home...Mr. Bulbous and 2001’s Manic Moonlight. Pinnick continued his solo career in conjunction with King’s X, issuing Poundhound’s second release, Pineappleskunk, the same year (as well as forming a side project with former members of Trouble, dubbed Supershine), while Tabor issued two albums with the prog metal supergroup Platypus — 1998’s When Pus Comes to Shove and 2000s Ice Cycles. Around the same time,

as demos or bootlegs. Their first concert album, Live All Over the Place, arrived the following year, followed by their 11th studio recording, Ogre Tones, in 2005. King’s X released XV on the InsideOut label in 2008.

Ozz Performs at The Hellcat Cafe After seeing Ozzy’s farewell concert at The Woodlands, we still had a hunger for more Ozzy, so we headed over to the Hellcat Cafe to see the next best thing, Ozz. Ozz is one of the best Ozzy tribute acts we’ve ever seen. Lead singer Iggy does a better job sounding like Ozzy than Ozzy does, and the performances that the band delivers is definitely first class. We got there just in time to see the entire Ozz set and let me tell you, they put on a helluva show. Performing outdoors on the Hellcat Cafe patio under the stars was the perfect place to view their performance this night. Guitarist Todd Bishop was incendiary on the guitar, nailing all the Zakk Wylde and Randy Rhoads parts perfectly, but adding his own touch to them. Bassist Scot Whiplash Burmeister along with Paul Sander formed a great rhythm section that even Ozzy would have been impressed with. The back patio of the Hellcat Cafe was packed this night, as we expected it would be and everybody there was just having the best time of their lives. Great things happen at The Hellcat Cafe and tonight was just another one of them. Great Show! Great Band! Great Club! We’re happy to say that we have about 30 minutes on film from this show to share with you, so you can start watching it now on HMNTV - Houston Music News Television at http:// www.houstonmusicnews.net. ROCK ON!!
Skyrocket Takes Off At Rockefeller’s Well, it was definitely a party night at Rockefeller’s this night as Austin party rockers Skyrocket took to the stage. The place was so packed you could hardly walk through there. As always, the band sounded fantastic and rocked the crowd with everything from Rock to Disco. From Dire Straits’ “Sultans Of Swing” to The Beatles “Nowhere Man” to Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain,” they kept the party rockin’ all night. They even threw in a bit of “Knock On Wood” Skyrocket is one of the most creative and inimitable cover bands ever to emerge from Austin. They resurrect the hits from many different decades and styles, fearlessly making the songs matter again. When you get a chance, make sure you see this band sometime.

Pattillo. Alisha is one fine saxophonist. Every time we’ve seen her she put on a fine show. For tonight’s performance at The Big Easy, Alisha Pattillo assembled a great group of musicians. On stage we spotted guitarist extraordinaire James Wilhite. James was also handling lead vocals for this gig as well. Also up there was keyboardist Barry Seelen. Barry has performed with so many groups around town, it’s hard to keep up with it. He’s another fine performer. Handling the drums was one of houston’s finest, Richard Cholakian. Alisha is a half-Australian half-English raised in Singapore saxophonist. She has traveled the world performing at Music Festivals and clubs in major cities such as Singapore, Brisbane, Ho Chi Minh City, Austin, Houston, Dallas, and many more. She now resides in Houston. Her current projects include her own Jazz group, “Alisha’s Quartet,” and her own Funk & Blues Project, the “H-Town Collective.” Tonight’s show was definitely a blast and Alisha and the band kept the dance floor packed all night long. was performing at The Ashford Pub on Eldridge, so we made our way over there to see them. We love seeing Blaggards at The Ashford Pub. For us, there’s really no other place to see them. The atmosphere is great and the sound there is just fine. The intimate setting of The Ashford Pub is always a great place to watch bands at. It’s one of the few places you can right up close to the band and have a great time. Hydro-Phonics Performs at The Jailhouse Saloon
We dropped by The Jailhouse this night to see another new band for us, Hydro-Phonics. This great power-trio was certainly a lot of fun. While we were there they were just cranking out some great Classic Rocks tunes, one right after the other. From Cheap Trick’s “Surrender” to Free’s “Wishing Well,” to Frampton’s “Show Me The Way,” the hits just came on coming. They also cranked out some Thin Lizzy and Bad Company for us while we were there. Great Band! Had a fine time there. Then again, we always have a good time at The Jailhouse Saloon. They feature live music every weekend and only book the top bands. Check out their ad in this issue to see who’s playing there this month. continued on next page They’ve got a great lineup for your listening pleasure.

MotorBud Performs at Acadia Live aka Acadia Bar & Grill This night we ran into a new band at The Acadia Bar aka Acadia Live. Their names is MotorBud, and they are from Beaumont. Motorbud is a bluesy, heavy rock band from Southeast Texas with sounds similar to Black Sabbath, Clutch, & Corrosion Of Conformity. The band is an all original project with a quite a few really good songs to share. They cite their influences as Black Sabbath, Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Led Zeppelin, and Tool, just to name a few. The band is comprised of Vocals: Tim Rodriguez, Lead Guitar: Kieth Hunter, Guitar: Jeff Crabbs, Bass: Terry Bailey, and Drums: Aubrey McKee. Their show tonight at the Acadia was pretty good. The band is tight and they have a great singer fronting the band. We really enjoyed seeing them, and we’d recommend them as a band for you to check out sometime. In the meantime, just kick back and watch one of the two videos we have from their show at Acadia Live when you get a chance. We think you’ll like them too.
Black Friday Project Perform at Diamond Jim’s Country Saloon We’re over at Diamond Jim’s Country Saloon in La Marque right now to see the Black Friday Project. These guys show a lot of promise. They sound real good and have a great repertoire. While we were there they were performing some great old “Classic Rock.” One minute they were performing Cheap Trick’s “Surrender,” and the next they’d be into a little Stevie Wonder with “Higher Ground.” We especially like their take on The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” It really made for a good evening. Black Friday Project has been around since 2015 and is a Houston based band. These guys really did a great job entertaining the crowd at Diamond Jim’s this night. Lead singer Steve Schaeffer really does a fine job fronting this outfit and manages to do a great job on just about anything he sings. Black Friday Project is Reed Brooks (guitar and vocals), Michael Chase (percussion and vocals), Larry Eshleman (keyboards), Larry Hinson (bass), Robert Whitley (guitar and vocals), and of course, Steve. Check ‘em out sometime.
For those country music fans out there come to Texas City to Diamond Jim’s Country Saloon! They’ve been in business for about 2 years now, and the locals fill it up on
the weekends. However, during the week, they also have Customer Appreciation Day (wear your Diamond Jim’s T-shirt for specials continued on next page

John Scher Performs at Katie’s
This month has been great for us. We’ve managed to see a lot of great new bands, and tonight is another one of those nights. We dropped by Katie’s in Bailiff to see guitarist extraordinaire Dave Scher. Dave is based out of Austin, Texas, and he specializes in producing some of the finest Blues music we’ve heard. He’s been known to dabble in jazz, funk, or even a little country whenever he temporarily wanders from his beloved blues, but basically he does it all. Dave Scher. And then there’s his voice — powerful and sensual enough to convey every emotion on the spectrum, a natural extension and perfect complement to his work on the guitar. His show tonight was very impressive,, and we’re certainly glad we managed to make it out to this gig. Let me tell you, Katie’s brings in some of the best talent that Texas has to offer. Just drop by the club Wednesday thru Sundays and you’ll be treated to some of the best acts you’ve ever seen. When you get a chance, check out this video from Dave’s show on HMNTV - Houston Music News Shenanigan’s is Television. It’s going to blow you away!!

Icons At Badassery This Month Icons At Badassery would like to honor, Willie Hugh Nelson (born April 29, 1933) is an American musician, singer,
songwriter, author, poet, actor, and activist. The critical success of the album Shotgun Willie (1973), combined with the critical and commercial success of Red Headed Stranger (1975) and Stardust (1978), made Nelson one of the most recognized artists in country music. He was one of the main figures of outlaw country, a sub-genre of country music that developed in the late 1960s as a reaction to the conservative restrictions of the Nashville sound. Nelson has acted in over 30 films, co-authored several books, and has been involved in activism for the use of bio-fuels and the legalization of marijuana. Born during the Great Depression and raised by his grandparents, Nelson wrote his first song at age seven and joined his first band at ten. During high school, he toured locally with the Bohemian Polka as their lead singer and guitar player. After graduating from high school in 1950, he joined the Air Force but was later discharged due to back problems. After his return, Nelson attended Baylor University for two years but dropped out because he was succeeding in music. During this time, he worked as a disc jockey
in Texas radio stations and a singer in honky-tonks. Nelson moved to Vancouver, Washington, where he wrote “Family Bible” and recorded the song “Lumberjack” in 1956. He also worked as a disc jockey at various radio stations in Vancouver and nearby Portland Oregon. In 1958, he moved to Houston, Texas, after signing a contract with D Records. He sang at the Esquire Ballroom weekly and he worked as a disk jockey. During that time, he wrote songs that would become country standards, including “Funny How Time Slips Away”, “Hello Walls”, “Pretty Paper”, and “Crazy”. In 1960 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and later signed a publishing contract with Pamper Music, which allowed him to join Ray Price’s band as a bassist. In 1962, he recorded his first album, ...And Then I Wrote. Due to this success, Nelson signed in 1964 with RCA Victor and joined the Grand Ole Opry the following year. After mid-chart hits in the late 1960s and the early 1970s, Nelson retired in 1972 and moved to Austin, Texas. The ongoing music scene of Austin motivated Nelson to return from retirement, performing frequently at the Armadillo World Headquarters. In 1973, after signing with Atlantic Records, Nelson turned to outlaw country, including albums such as Shotgun Willie and Phases and Stages. In 1975, he switched to Columbia Records, where he recorded the critically acclaimed album Red Headed Stranger. The same year, he recorded another outlaw country album, Wanted! The Outlaws, along with Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, and Tompall Glaser. During the mid-1980s, while creating hit albums like Honeysuckle Rose and recording hit songs like “On the Road Again”, “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before”, and “Pancho and Lefty”, he joined the country supergroup, The Highwaymen, along with fellow singers Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson. During the 1990s and 2000s, Nelson continued touring extensively, and released albums every year. Reviews ranged from positive to mixed. He explored genres such as reggae, blues, jazz, and folk. Nelson made his first movie appearance in the 1979 film The Electric Horseman, followed by other appearances in movies and on television. Nelson is a major liberal activist and the co-chair of the advisory board of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), which is in favor of marijuana legalization. On the environmental front, Nelson owns the biodiesel brand Willie Nelson Bio-diesel, which is made from vegetable oil. Nelson is also the honorary chairman of the Advisory Board of the Texas Music Project, the official music charity of the state of Texas. Willie Nelson will be performing in Sugar Land at the Smart Financial November 25. It is with great honor to entitle Willie Nelson an Icon At Badassery. Thank You for all your hard work and change you stand for!

Virgin / Ume Reissues Lenny Kravitz First 5 Albums On Double Vinyl We’ve got some great new vinyl release to tell you about this month. Lenny Kravitz and Virgin / UMe has reissued Lenny’s first five albums on vinyl. We’ve already received 1991’s Mama Said, 1993’s Are You Gonna Go My Way, 1995’s Circus, and 1998’s 5. His first album, 1989’s Let Love Rule will be released this month on November 30th to celebrate it’s 30th Anniversary. As soon as we get our hands on that one, we’ll let you know about that one as well. In the meantime, let’s start with 2, 3, 4, and 5. The albums are reissued as 2LP packages on 180-gram heavy-duty vinyl. Each album has been painstakingly re-mastered and they sound fantastic. We just can’t say enough for the folks that go to all the trouble to re-master these projects. They don’t just throw them together. They take their time and really turn out a fine product. In addition to the standard black vinyl releases, they also come in multi-color vinyl also. Each one is different. Let Love Rule is 50/50 semi-transparent brown and yellow, Mama Said is marbled white and gray, Are You Gonna Go My Way is transparent red and transparent purple, Circus is solid white and transparent clear, and 5 is solid orange and solid white. In addition to the multicolored releases, they have also included addition bonus cuts to four out of five of the releases. We’ll give you a list of those fine cuts, some of which have never been included on a vinyl for the first time. It’s been great listening to this beautiful progression of Lenny’s work. Having received the albums all at one time, it was
wonderful being able to track the evolution of his work. Our first one on the platter is 1991’s Mama Said. What a great album! The album kicks off with Michael Kamen’s “Fields Of Joy,” an obscure song that most of you probably weren’t familiar with when it came out. It was actually first released by Michael Kamen’s rock band The New York Rock & Roll Ensemble in 1971. Lenny’s roots are deep seated in early rock, so It was really no surprise to see that he included a cut like this on his album. Other really cool experiences on the album include the song “Always On The Run,” which was co-written by Slash and features Slash on lead guitar. Another interesting song on the album is “All I Ever Wanted,” which was co-written with Sean Lennon. This platinum certified album was definitely a cool second entry into Lenny Kravitz’s catalog. Next up is 1993’s Are You Gonna Go My Way. Remember when “Are You Gonna Go My Way” ruled the radio waves. That song went clear up to #1 and hung around there for a while. Other great chart toppers from the album included “Believe,” “Heaven Help,” and “Is There Any Love In Your Heart.” This album was Lenny’s first Top 20 album to hit the charts. This album is filled with several bonus cuts. They feature: “Ascension,” “Brother,” “Heaven Help” (acoustic), “All My Life,”
“Someone Like You,” “Sister” (live), “For The First Time,” and “Believe” (acoustic). Circus is Lenny’s fourth release. It reached #10 on the U.S. Charts, becoming Lenny’s first #10 album. Topics on the album really vary. It seems to be kind of an introspective time for Lenny as he pens songs about God (“God Is Love” and “The Resurrection”) and the rock and roll lifestyle (“Rock and Roll Is Dead’). Lenny was going through a very serious time in his life. Besides being unhappy with the music business, he was also dealing with his mother’s illness. His only notable single from this
album was “Rock and Roll Is Dead.” Bonus cuts on this album include: “Another Life,” “Confused,” and “Is It Me Is It You?” This is the first time this album has been commercially issued on vinyl. Last but not least on our platter is Lenny Kravitz’s fifth album release, 5. 5 finds Lenny in a better mood emotionally and the subjects are not quite as dramatic as his previous release. This album spent 3 years in the Top 200 with 2 years of that in the Top 100. The album produced 5 singles, which were released in 1998 and 1999. Those are “Fly Away,” “If You Can’t Say No,” “I Belong To You,” “Thinking Of You,” and “Black Velveteen.” “Fly Away” took off into the stratosphere and took on a life of it’s own and has become one of the most played songs off this album. It also earned Lenny a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Performance in 1999. Bonus cuts included on the album include: “American Woman,” which you probably remember from the Austin Powers soundtrack for The Spy Who Shagged Me and “Without You.” Well, there you have it, one really nice package of great material from Lenny Kravitz and Virgin / UMe. You’ll definitely want to add these to your collection. As we said before, the new re-mastering process makes these albums really live and breathe life into your turntable. We just can’t wait to get our hands on Lenny’s break through album Let Love Rule. We’re really looking forward to that one. A special “thanks” goes out to Lenny Kravitz for being such a blessed writer and Virgin / UMe for releasing these gems again.
