Outstanding!

VFW POST 9186, SAN ANTONIO, hosted the Texas Mission of Mercy along with San Antonio District Dental Association Foundation and Smiles Foundation to bring free dental care to low income Veterans in the San Antonio and surrounding area. This event was originally scheduled and planned to treat Veterans only, however, due to the overwhelming support of volunteer specialized dentists and undergraduate students, the organizations decided to open this to the public. It was a huge success with 246 patients receiving 1,507 treatments totaling $229,584 in donated dental costs! The Post was transformed from a VFW Hall to a Triage, Sanitation Station, and Dental Clinic with the help of over 100 volunteers. VFW Post 9186 is proud to have been a part of this life changing event which helped many people, who otherwise, could not afford dental care.
