Artist Paints Fallen Texas Soldiers

86 Year Old Veteran Shows Respect to the Fallen through His Paintings

TEXAS VFW POST 912,

BAYTOWN, member and Air Force veteran Ken Pridgeon has painted over 400 Texas Fallen Warriors over the last 14 years. Ken is a resident of Baytown and it is from here he started painting fallen soldiers from Texas so many years ago. As his collection started to grow and he began to gain notoriety for his work, he opened a gallery in Houston which has been open for about 5 years now.

Those who know him say he is one of the kindest people they know and that he is personally affected when he learns of a fallen soldier. He pours his emotions into his work to help memorialize and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives serving their country. When he learned that one of the Afghanistan 13 was from Texas he said “They died together and they need to stay together.” That’s when he began the artwork you see here.

Well beyond his own military service, Ken is still touching lives and making a difference in his own unique and touching way. Thank you, Ken, for your beautiful artwork. #stillserving
