India ITME’12 updates India ITME 2012, a most awaited show since 4 years and talk of the town in textile fraternity. Its been great proud that textile industry have such a wonderful show in INDIA. ITME for textile technology / engineering show started in year 1980. Since 32 years, this show has magnificent success in each year... Each year, Countries participating the show is increasing, Today in India ITME have 50 countries directly or Indirectly participating the show... !!! If we go back to old history of Indian textile industry, we find that yarn will be hand twist, for weaving handloom machines which is made by wood sticks, iron rods, iron pins, nails etc… no special degree and technology knowledge was required at that time.. now time turned.. where hand woven fabric is history and today it's called “ traditional” not morden textile. Morden textile is machine made fibre, yarn, fabric, finishes, garments… so Over 800 Exhibitors, expected 1 lac visitors showing the interest in textile industry. Great future of Textile industry…!!! 9 th India International Textile Machinery Exhibition started on 2nd of December 2012 at Bombay Convention and Exhibition centre, Mumbai. It was inaugurated by Rajashree Birla, the chief guest of the occasion. The other dignitaries of the inauguration were guests of honour- A B Joshi, the textile commissioner, Mr. Christian Schindler, Chairman of International Textile Manufacturing Federation, Zurich, Rajnikant Bachkaniwala, Chereman, India ITME society, Seema Shrivastava, Executive Director, India ITME society, Sanjay Lathia, and others. On the inauguration function Rajashree Birla told the story of the development of the textile industry tagged with the success story of her family. Seema Shrivastava, Executive Director, India ITME society said that the
secret of success in life for a man is to be ready for his opportunity when it comes. She told that Textile manufacturing is the second largest source after agriculture in India and each state offering its own specialty product. She further said that more FDI, more technical collaborations, more joint ventures, and new avenues for business were needed to unlock full potential of the country. This can happen only through convergence of entrepreneurship, talent, competition, innovation, land, labour, and capital at the right juncture. She said that ITME 2012 was what the industry needed at that time to create transactions. Textile commissioner A B Joshi said that technical textile sector had become a major industry segment globally. Globally technical textile sector has witnessed growth surpassing the conventional textile sector. Shri A. B. Joshi and Dr. Christian Schindler shared their massive experience about indian textile industry. They shared ground reality like if consumption of fibre increases so all other Textile Value Chain sectors increases their profits. today fibre consumption in india is 70 million tons, in 2020 it is expected to 100 million tons. BRIC countries have more advantage in developing economy. Mr. Hari Shankar, Chairman, Textile Machinery manufacturers' Association, said that the textile engineering industry in India was one of the five engineering sectors responsible for the
growth of the country. It consists of more than 1400 units, with a total investment of approx 7800 crore. More than 80% units are SMEs. He expressed his concern that the textile engineering industry was not able to grow steadily during the last five years. Voltas limited, Mr. Manoj shared his views on world class technology which LMW is making. Which is very competitive to other world class manufacturer is making. He expressed that “ India have high skilled, technical and engineered mind man power which have always had demand in world be it software or textiles.. engineered mind rocks the world.. and world dance in their tunes…” Pankaj Mirani of APSOM Infotx Ltd. says that there is a good prospect of textile industry in India. Our domestic consumption is too high in the world. He expects that even if other things like financial market and world economy will slow down, the consumption of cloth will not be affected. Mukesh Agarwal of RAMP IMPEX said that we proceeding towards organized from unorganized sector. The prospect is really good here. At end all have cheerfully said that all participants in the exhibition, exhibitors as well as visitors will gain something from this show. We hope we all will leave the show with tons of orders, tons of new ideas, new strategies, new markets, new machinery to make textile industry more profitable and sustainable in the world…!!!
