Four magicians each answer a mysterious invitation to go to an old, run-down apartment building and find no one there. One of them picks the lock and once inside, they find blueprints for some amazing machinery that they know could help propel them to stardom. One year later, they are all performing in Las Vegas as “The Four Horsemen.” For the final trick of the evening, they say that they will rob a bank and ask someone from the audience to name which one. A Frenchman names a bank in France and then a shower of money rains down onto the Las Vegas crowd. The French bank isn’t as thrilled when they find their safe is empty.

Come to the Town Hall Meetings that will discuss the proposed purchase of The Great Outdoors Golf Course and Plantation House Restaurant by the Community Services Association. A total of four meetings are planned, with the final two on Wednesday, November 6 and 13, at 10:00 A.M. The membership will be voting on the purchase proposal on November 20, so these meetings are very important for informed decision making.

It’s the “Roaring Twenties” and a Midwestern war veteran named Nick Carraway is in the Perkins Sanitarium talking to a doctor. He is there due to his alcoholism, among other issues. Nick says his father told him to always see the good in people and that the only person he saw good in was a man called Gatsby. Continuing on, he talks about the previous spring in 1922. Wall Street was booming and bootleggers were in business due to Prohibition. Nick moves to a cottage on Long Island in West Egg. Full of ambition, he worked for a bond broker on Wall Street. His cottage was next door to the Gatsby Mansion. And so the tale of a man’s obsessive love and his spiral into tragedy unfolds.
