UK and Europe news Regional update

Last month was an extremely busy and exciting time for the UK events team. The Virtual Energy Exports Conference (vEEC) ran from Monday 28 September to Thursday Jo Cam pbell 1 October, with over 20 international delegations joining and more than US$800bn in project opportunities discussed throughout the week. I want to send a special thank you to my colleagues in the UK events team Nicola McGeown, Caitlin Henderson and Kerrie Madden who supported the delivery of a packed vEEC agenda including international delegations, operator and contractor updates, ministerial meetings, support for new exporters, thought leadership sessions, C-level panel discussions and global marketing techniques. All sessions included a live Q&A with our speakers. Petronas, PDO, Repsol Sinopec, COSIA, TOTAL, Worley, Petrofac, Vattenfall, Equinor, BP and many more joined our highly successful week of knowledge, business opportunities and virtual networking. We would like to thank everyone again who supported this unique event which saw an audience of over 6,000 throughout the week. A special thank you also goes to vEEC sponsors, Petrofac and UnitBirwelco, and the organising partners Aberdeen City Council, DIT, OGUK, Oil & Gas Authority, ONE, SDI, Scottish Enterprise and UK Export Finance. If you unfortunately missed the Virtual Energy Exports Conference, there is still a chance to sign up for Go AccessPremium to review all presentations and recordings, please visit here: www.the-eic.com/Events/ EnergyExportsConference In the midst of an ongoing and unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, we invited the energy sector on Thursday 15 October to join us for an energy update from the EIC’s market intelligence team, who gave an overview of the current state of play in the global oil and gas market. Over 100 attendees joined us to hear from Diveena Danabalan and Tayo Idowu, our energy analysts, summarising the impact that we have seen across the sectors as well as foresee the near term and longer-term prospects for the upstream, midstream and downstream markets. They were joined by Michael Comfort, Supply Chain Analyst, who gave a summary of the impact seen on the global operator community and future spend of these companies during the 2020/21 financial year. We were also delighted to work with our global digital supporter TÜV SÜD. As we reach November, we aim to deliver even more live e-vents from Cross-Sector Decommissioning, Focussing on Offshore Wind and The North Sea – an area in the middle of transition. All of our webinars are free to EIC members and non-members can join for a small fee. In addition, and allowing us to expand our virtual offering further, we are able to provide bespoke hosting opportunities, or why not become a global digital supporter via the EIC online platform? If you and your organisation want to reach a larger global audience, put your business front and centre, strengthen your brand in the energy sector, reconnect with customers and expand your network, please email aberdeen@the-eic.com to contact a member of the team. We look forward to discussing what ways we can support your organisation further. Jo Campbell Regional Director (UK & Europe) jo.campbell@the-eic.com
