Isla Verde was vacated by Bukidnon State University and is within the vicinity of CCESSC, since they have newly constructed buildings, CCESSC offered to have CNHS occupy the one–story building to aid the latter’s need for extra facilities.

To prevent elementary students from going to the now occupied classrooms, CNHS is planning to put barricades to maintain the boundaries between two parties.

“Actually, at first our EIM students were reluctant about their relocation because they felt like they were being abandoned and isolated from their schoolmates,” Villamor stated.

They did not like the new environment at first, however, they tend to manage the kind of learning environment they do have in the said area.

Villamor also added that after experiencing how solemn and effective it is to learn in such an environment, EIM learners do not want to go back to the main campus yet because they started to like their new classrooms..

In addition, EIM’s laboratory is still in the main campus, which is why they are not completely detached and isolated to the CNHS main.

“Isla Verde is for teaching and learning engagements only so they still need to go to CNHS for laboratory,” highlighting how crucial it is for them to focus more on application since their track is centered in skills.

She also reiterated that even though Compostela is bombarded by a series of earthquakes these past few months, the building is in a perfect state --- and that the Municipal Engineering’s Office and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer did not find any cracks in the establishment. The EIM’s students were lucky to be relocated in Isla Verde because their classrooms were not affected by the said earthquake.

For the meantime, CNHS is still pursuing the EIM’s stay in the area since it has been substantiated that EIM learners are really enjoying their stay.

“Lingaw man pud mo diria bisan kami kami ra. Wala man sad mi gipasagdan sa skwelahan kay bisan nabulag mi kay naa man naka stand by nga mga maestro namo, maong ganahan kaau mi mo-eskwela unya inspired pah gyud mi kay hawd kaayo motudlo ang amuang mga teachers,” Karl Vincent Atamosa, EIM student stressed.

He also added that he was thankful for the relocation because it is not included in the Blended Learning Modalities, giving him more time to learn and practice his craft.

CNHS students actively partake on the school’s campaign of minimizing electric consumption by purposely unplugging unnecessary devices.

Compostela National High School (CNHS) lessened electricity usage due to climbing charges resulting in massive conservation of energy inside classrooms.

Per classroom was limited with electricity usage; only two functional electric fans are allowed for utilization, usage of smart tv will only be valid for educational purposes, and charging of phones or any gadgets is also prohibited otherwise it will be confiscated.

Furthermore, according to the school’s Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), the school is issued monthly with an estimated figure of around a hundred twentyfive thousand pesos for both Senior and Junior High for electrical load alone.

These efforts were materialized due to the continuous escalation of bills charged to the school’s monthly consumption. The school’s faculty believes that strategic approaches that aim to minimize the financial worries like appointing max operation of utilities can generate long-term benefit to the school’s treasury.
