Overlooked and Underrated - Indeed, when we talk about the most famous and most numbered athlete enthusiasts within a sport in the Philippines, the answer would be basketball. An own spotlight shines beyond its head; to different land masses of the Philippines, from the streets of towns, to coastal beaches and even the most rural parts, a four-cornered court with hoops and rings is visible to the naked eye.

Based on the Nike poll (a popular shoe brand partnered with the said sport) the Philippines is reported to be the third largest basketball market after the United States and China, about 40 million people play or have played basketball. According to one report, 81% of the city’s population are basketball fans, and nearly 50% of them are avid fans. Due to its popularity amongst the nation, the amount of support and attention given to the said sport is overflowing like a basin left unattended to an open tap water. They gave action by providing a court dedicated for them, stalled in different barangays with well-budgeted furnished walls and floors to a gigantic roof that sheds the whole scene. They also have been provided with balls to use and own jerseys to wear during the game. On top of that, the sporting tournament that the municipalities recognizes is basketball or when they open-mouth they only give consciousness to dribbling and shooting.
