Positive-talk serves as an essential part of an athlete's life. It has improved the mental health of the athletes through its positive association with facilitating stress management during competition, dropping the perceived stress, and general burnout as they feel validated and appreciated during their performance on the sporting stage.

“I always left them quotes before, during and after the game. Like, God will guide you in everything so trust in him as you go play before sending them in the court, Kaya pa na, Just stick to the whole plan during, and You all did great and I commend you all for that at the end of the game,” said Elma Aligato, Compostela National High School (CNHS) basketball coach.

Verola on the other hand noted that truly saying nice and motivating thoughts and phrases to them really helped them in striving as the best kay mas maningkamot man gud sila if hatagan nimo silag expectation. As I give them high expectations, the possibilities of us winning are at peak, for they will do anything to win and not waste the hard training.

Overall, the words mouthed by the coaches truly is an effective way of leading a troop as they manage to win lots of competitions, tournaments, and many invitational games.

Athletes are not the only one who grasped that winning game, for behind those well-figured player is a coach who leads them and shouting proudly in-game Akoy nagtudlo ana!

SSG exhibits SPORTS Ukay: Thrift to sowing seeds

By:

Displaying 'Ukay-ukay' clothes hooks the attention of the students that is managed by the Supreme Students Government (SSG) on January 14-15 during Intramurals of Compostela National High School (CNHS).

Clothes from the ukay-ukay are donations from different associations and are managed by the leaders of SSG as an activity for the Intramurals. This activity is to contribute to the Gulayan sa Paaralan. Through the initiative on having ukay-ukay, the Gulayan sa Paaralan will be able to sow more seeds to their garden.

With the help from the student leaders that reach help through this, wasted fine clothes serves as a source of income for the funds and it will be able to be used for the development of the school's gardenia. As the SSG exhibits fashionable and usable clothes in ukay-ukay , this thrift routes as a seed that grows plants and nutrients for everyone.

Prior to the anticipated mania, tournaments hold a breather and let loose the pressure. Before the crowd chants into distinct cheers, a same hurrah is shared aloud. In a pool of mutual applause, the crowd roars proudly, not by grand slam, a great pass, rebound or a heart-stopping foul, it’s with the funny skit, short skirts and a kembot.

Wildcats know this well. Setting the audience in an uncontrollable mix of woahs, entertainment and spectacle not only during the tournaments, but also with their dance production is their charm. Known not only for their agility, team-coordination and goal orientation, Wildcats prove that they cannot be ceased in the play-offs, and most certainly not in a dance-off.

“You just had to be there! Seeing the players warm up from the heavy atmosphere and be goofy from all the stress shows the positive and light side of sports,” shared Chrishell Cabatlao as she recalls her experience.

Precious Shane Gepolla also shared that it was her first time seeing her boyfriend dance and it was really amusing to see, aside from the stunts and the great reflexes her beau unleashes on-court in his Wildcats jersey.

Obviously from the faces of the players and the coaches, everyone is having the best time! A dash of comedic spoof is enough to jumpstart the meet to a comfortable view.

While the games may be heated at the break of it, and scores end the series, the essence of good sportsmanship and wholesome bonds is the gist of any tourney. Letting out a goofy smile and effortless chuckles is one way of enjoying a play. Witness greatness, witness history, and maybe peep a kaldag, here or two.
