THE COMPLEAT DISCWORLD ATLAS by Terry Pratchett
Aided & abetted by The Discworld Emporium In this noble endeavour, drawing upon the hard won knowledge of many great and, inevitably, late explorers, one may locate on a detailed plan of our world such fabled realms as the Condiment Isles, trace the course of the River Kneck as it deposits silt and border disputes in equal abundance on the lands either side, and contemplate the vast deserts of Klatch and Howondaland - a salutary lesson in the perils of allowing ones goats to graze unchecked. This stunning work brings to life the lands and locations of the Discworld stories in a way never seen before. Accompanied by lavish full-colour illustrations and a detailed world map, this is a must-have for any Discworld fan.
Come and meet Sporting Legend John Lehihan. He will be in Woulfes Bookshop this Sat 14th Nov from 2.30pm

North Kerry U16 Championship – Final Emmets V St. Senan’s - Saturday/Sunday 21st /22nd November
Recent Results Emmets booked their place in the North Kerry Championship Semi Final after a good win over Knocknagoshel in Moyvane on Saturday last, Emmets opened the scoring with a pointed free from Conor Cox, this was quickly cancelled out by a pointed free from Edmond Walsh and this game looked like it would be far from easy for the Listowel side, however Micheal Lynch and Brendan Flavin’s dominance in Midfield left amble supply to Emmets forward lines who punished at every attack. Maurice Whelan linked well with Cox and Bryan Sweeney who in turn passed to Cormac Mulvihill who buried the ball to the back of the net. Five minutes later it was the turn of Conor Cox who again made light of the challenge and sent the ball to the back of the net, Cox again took a good score from play as Knocknagoshel struggled to contain the Emmets attack with further goals coming from the young Bryan Sweeney, and a converted penalty from Cox to leave the half time score Emmets 4-8 Knocknagoshel 0-2. As the second half played out Emmets added another two points from play from David Sheehy, while Knocknagoshel kicked five, 3 from Edmund Walsh and 1 each from David O’Connell and James Walsh. Final Score Emmets 4-10 Knocknagoshel 0-7. Referee John Ross Ballyduff.
LISTOWEL RUGBY
On the 31st of October a beautiful Saturday morning, Corca Dhuibhne traveled to Listowel to train and play matches with the minis section (ages 5 to 11). Twelve teams played on the day with all players putting in a fantastic performance. Great fun was had by all! These training days are a great tool to help our players develop their skills and grow in confidence. Our parents provided a fantastic spread for all! We would like to thank Corca Dhuibhne, parents, players, coaches and Listowel Community Centre for their support which made this a very successful day.
Listowel U14s lost to Tralee Blues in a fine match in Tralee on Saturday. Tralee started well with 2 early tries but Listowel fought back with 2 first half tries from Denis Dowling, who enjoyed his first match in the centre. Tralee pulled away after halftime but Listowel came right back into the game when Ethan O’Connor and Oisin Horgan scored the first tries of their short rugby careers. Tralee increased the pressure late in the game. Shane Healy made a superb “last ditch” tackle to keep our hopes alive but Tralee scored 2 late tries to seal victory. Joseph Murphy and Daniel McKenna were hard working and brave in defence. Kevin Lowton showed great composure at outhalf in only his second match, including a fine conversion from well out on the left hand side. Our scrum was solid with our front row of Ryan Doyle, Conor Ferris and Aaron Mulvihill well on top. Our breakdown work really improved in this match with Murtie Moriarty, Ethan O’Connor and John Carmody leading the way. Overall,
this was our best performance of the season against a strong Tralee side. Weekend Fixtures: Saturday U14's home to Killorglin at 11.00 U16's away to Killorglin at 11.30
Senior: Well done to our Senior B team on a fine win last Sunday in Pat Kennedy Park. They defeated St Brendan's Park B on a scoreline of 4.2 with Brendan Angland and Ben Landy getting 2 goals each. Congratulations to the team and management.

Congratulations to the boys on their great display of skill on the pitch. Thanks to their parents for travelling and providing great support and encouragement to the players and coaches alike. The players on the day were: Cormac Dillon, Robbie Foley, Jack Enright, Shane Horgan, Eddie Healy, Evan Kelly, Robert Heffernan, Killian Boyle, Ray McGrath, Shane O Sullivan, Aaron Whyte, Thomas Kelly, David Roche, David Lynch, Daniel Kirwan, James Wong, Keith Cotter and Diarmuid O Connor. Well done to all involved.
U12 girls: Our U12 girls played their first game of the season away to Killarney Athletic last Saturday. For some of these girls it was their first ever competitive match. Killarney Athletic scored first but our girls settled into the game and a goal from Katie Keane left the half time score 1.1. Our girls had a much better second half and went 2.1 up thanks to a goal from Ella Buckley but Killarney Athletic scored again in the final minutes to leave the final score 2.2. Huge credit has to go to our girls for the effort they showed throughout the match. Our fantastic squad of players were Megan Large, Kiera Large, Katie Keane, Katie Murphy, Ava Fitzgerald, Ciara Henderson, Aoife Bates, Leonie Walz, Lucy Keane, Nicola Kennelly, Megan McElligott, Ella Buckley, Ciara O Sullivan and Saoirse Kelly. Thanks to all the parents who drove and came out to support the girls. Congratulations to all involved.
U13's: The team of last weekend has to go to our U13 team. They defeated St Brendan's Park on a scoreline of 7.2 in Pat Kennedy Park on Saturday last to reach the final 32 of the SFAI National Cup. Our team got off to a perfect start with a goal from Sean Stackpoole inside 30 seconds, it was followed with another shortly afterwards from Aoife Horgan. Our team showed great determination and this was rewarded with a second goal from Aoife Horgan with just 8 minutes on the clock. St Brendan's Park pulled one back on the 15th minute but this was cancelled out 5 minutes later when a shot from Dylan Quinn, from 35 yards out, rattled the top corner of the net to leave the half time score 4.1. St Brendan's Park came out fighting in the second half and scored first, but our team showed great spirit and fought hard all over the pitch. Further goals from Ben O Connor and Sean O Connor along with a cross into the box, from Aoife Horgan, being deflected, by the defender, into the back of his own net finished off a brilliant team performance. Congratulations to the team and management and we wish them the very best in the last 32. U17's: Congratulations and well done to our U17A team who defeated Inter Kenmare 8.0 In Pat Kennedy Park on Saturday last. Goal scorers on the day were Niall Downey with a hat trick, Sheldon Neill and Cristobal Montis with 2 each and 1 from Callum McSweeney. Well done to the team and management.

All roads lead to Ballylongford on Sunday, when reigning North Kerry Champions, Beale, play the quarter final against Trabert at 2.30pm. The teams last met in the championship in 2011 when Beale ousted then reigning champions, Tarbert, in the semi-final in Ballylongford at the beginning of December. On that day, a goal in the seventh minute from the penalty spot set us on our way, as a superb Beale defence held Tarbert at bay. We went into the interval with a six-point advantage, 1-4 to 0-1, and found the net again at the end of the third quarter to forge a nine-point lead. However, Tarbert did not give up without a fight and rallied, finding the net with ten minutes left on the clock and tagged on further points without reply. Beale’s defence stood solid and we emerged victorious at the final whistle: Beale 26, Tarbert 1-6. Beale Seniors contest their last game of the County League, Division 3, against St Patrick’s, Blennerville, on Sunday, November 22nd, @ 2.00pm in Ballybunion. Third from the bottom of the table, we are hovering in the relegation zone, going into our final game. All to be played for, with a win here to maintain divisional status or a play-off. In the North Kerry Junior Championship, Beale have received a first-round bye and await details of quarter final pairings. Beale Minors received a bye in the Jotty Holly Minor Championship, Division 2 (13-a-side). Well done to Johhny O’Sullivan who is training with the Kerry Minor squad.

N.K. championship was never top of our agenda for this year and its best to put this game behind us and move on and ensure we achieve what was our main objective at the start of the year. Which was, not getting relegated from
Div4, instead we find ourselves already promoted to Div3 and just a game away from ensuring we go up as Div4 winners. Who would have believed that was possible at the start of the year, after having to go to a replay to escape from Div5. So come out next Sunday and show your support for our players and management team who have worked tirelessly for the past two years to get to this position.

KERRY CCE
We start this week with the sad news of the passing of Leo Griffin. A member of Craobh Trá Lí and a great supporter. Leo loved his Culture and Comhaltas and he presented Kerry Comhaltas with a perpetual Trophy for the U15 Concertina some years ago. Not alone was Leo known in Football circles throughout the Country but was also well known in Comhaltas circles. He travelled regularly to the North American Convention and would be seen at many County, Munster and All Ireland Fleadhanna. Leo loved his branch and Craobh Trá Lí loved Leo. He will be sadly missed by his friends in his branch, and around the County. The County that he loved so much and the pride he took in our Culture and in Comhaltas. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh an anam. County finals of Ceol an Geimhridh takes place this weekend, as Musicians, Singers and Comhra Competitors, converge on the IT Tralee on this Saturday. Starting at 10.30am these competitors will compete to represent Kerry at the Munster final in Limerick in February. On Sunday the attention turns to the dancers as they make their way to the Community Centre in Fossa with a starting time of 12pm. We wish all the competitors the very best on Saturday and Sunday. An afternoon of Set Dancing with Bryan O'Leary and Joe O'Sullivan will take place on next Sunday 15th November from 2.30pm to 5pm in Tureencahill School House. Torc Hotel Killarney Set Dancing Weekend takes place from 20th - 22nd November. Also on the 21st November a very special nights entertainment will take place in the INEC. The show features the 90 piece "In Tune For Life" orchestra. All-Ireland champion set dancers, world champion step dancer David Geaney, Club Rice Nic Craith, 35 renowned traditional musicians from all over Ireland, the Munster Rugby supporters choir, Thomas MacDonagh pipe band, Nora Butler, and numerous other singers including the 2015 Rose Of Tralee, 30 of Kerry's finest young musicians not to mention over 200 of our primary school kids that will be joining the orchestra on stage. In all nearly 450 performers will showcase their talents in aid of that fantastic organisation "the Donal Walsh live life Foundation". Please join us along with the Walsh family on November 21st in the INEC Killarney for what promises to be a feast of Irish music, song and dance. A night not to be missed. For all you Traditional Step Dancers. A Workshop with Michael Tubridy will be held on Sunday 22nd November in the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow from 11.00am to 4.30pm. Mobile: 086 3689061 | Email: osullivan_mairead@yahoo.com NORTH KERRY CHAMPIONSHIP Sponsored by McMunns Bar & Restaurant Ballybunion Quarter Final: Knocknaghosel 0.07 v Listowel Emmets 4.10 This game was played on Saturday evening last in Moyvane, with referee John Ross Ballyduff overseen matters. This was a one sided affair with Emmet's never in danger of losing this game. Knocknagoshel did have plenty of chances but just couldn't make it count in attack with wide after wide forced to shoot from distance. Emmets in the other hand could do no wrong in the first half scoring 4.08 with goals coming from Cormac Mulvihill, Bryan Sweeney, David Sheehy and Conor Cox (penalty). Knockangoshel managed only two points on target during the first half both coming from Edmund Walsh. Second half and Emmets took their foot of the pedal as the game was over as a contest only managing two points in the half from David Sheehy. Knocknagoshel added five points to their scoreboard coming from Edmund Walsh 3 pts, Dara O Connell and James Walsh a point a piece. So Knocknagoshel bow out of the championship and the Emmets men are the first team waiting in the Semi Finals. Quarter Final: Castleisland Desmonds 4.16 v Ballydonoghue 2.11 The second of the Quarter Finals to be played this weekend was billed as a thriller, but unfortunately it was anything but, The Desmonds men were making no mistake this year and from the the moment the ball was thrown in they lay down a marker within 2mins Desmonds were 3pts up. Ballydonoghue full forward Paul Kennelly added the opening two scores within 2 mins. The first goal of the game came in the 6th min from Desmond's wingback Gearoid McCarthy with a further 1.10 scored by the Desmonds men the goal from Ciaran O Callaghan Desmonds were in cruise control, on the other hand Ballydonoghue only managed 1.02 in the half the goal an awarded penalty taken by Damien O Carroll, Half time Score Desmond,s 2.13 v Ballydonoghue 1.04 Second half and and it was Ballydongohue who got of the mark for their second awarded penalty in the 2nd minute, which Damien O Carroll converted, but the Desmonds men were able to add 2.03 in the half to keep the difference between the sides at a comfortable distance goals coming from Thomas Hickey and Thomas Lynch, Ballydonoghue did go on to score 7pts in the half but to little to late so they bow out of the Championship, while the Desmond men will be many people's hot favourites to take the honours after this display.
