PUB QUIZ TONIGHT FOR ST. MICHAEL’S FOOTBALL TEAMS

The Christmas cheer starts this Fri. December 4th, at 9pm in Christy's, the Well, with a fun Christmas Pub Quiz and plenty of spot prizes, hosted by St. Michael's College Parents Council. The quiz will be to support the St Michael's College Football Teams in their up coming finals. The U16 & 1/2 yrs. boys are in the County Final and the senior team are in the Moynihan Cup County Final, later this month. The Senior team have also qualified for the Munster semi final in January. The parents and school are very proud of their achievements and determination and are fundraising to assist with needed team kits and gear.

St. Josephs Secondary School Parents Association and the career guidance department recently ran a series of extremely successful "Career Nights". We would like to thank all our guest speakers, all the professions who took time out to discuss courses etc with students, parents who catered for everyone on both nights, students who helped set up the school and help out on the nights, acting principal Ann Cummins and all the school staff who gave so freely of their time. Parents and senior cycle students found it very informative. We hope this will become an annual event. CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY FOR DOWN SYNDROME IRELAND

Tour de Munster 2015 raises €260K for the Munster Branches. Since its’ inception 15 years ago, the Tour de Munster has gone from strength to strength. This year alone the charity cycle has raised €260,000 for its beneficiary, Down Syndrome Ireland’s (DSI) Munster branches. This incredible sum was presented by Tour de Munster organiser Paul Sheridan to cyclist and DSI’s General Manager, Christina Riordan, at a special celebratory event at Clayton Hotel Silver Springs in Cork on Saturday 28th November. 120 amateur cyclists travelled over 600 km in just four days across all 6 counties in Munster in August, supported by friends, family and the scores of DSI volunteers who fundraised throughout the route. Each cyclist covered their own expenses so all funds raised go directly to DSI. Tour de Munster organiser Paul Sheridan was ecstatic with the overwhelming amount raised. Speaking at the cheque presentation, Paul said “Having raised over €2 million to date for the various beneficiaries over the last 15 years, we are so proud to have raised an additional €260,000 this year, bringing the total raised for the Munster Branches of DSI to €1.6 million in the last six years. The hard work and dedication from the cyclists and DSI volunteers has been truly incredible, and I am so proud of all involved on having raised this staggering sum for DSI. We are very grateful to the many companies and the public who have supported the Tour in the past 15 years, in particular this year’s main sponsor, Nightline Delivers.” Speaking about the total raised, Pat Clarke, CEO of DSI said “Tour de Munster has been an amazing experience for everyone in Down Syndrome Ireland. I’d like to thank Paul Sheridan and his outstanding team for their incredible dedication and hard work; Our families, our staff, and our community will be forever in your debt. It is wonderful to see the many friendships which have been formed between the organisation, the families and the cyclists, that last long after the last person is home from the challenging four day cycle. The tremendous fundraising work and awareness building improves the lives of so many Irish families, and is what makes Tour de Munster so special.” Each branch in Munster will receive a share of the money raised to fund services for people with Down Syndrome. Given the importance of early intervention services for the development of children with Down Syndrome, these are a priority for expenditure of funds in DSI’s Munster branches. Other areas of expenditure include Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy, as well as cookery and computer classes. The money will also be spent on sports and leisure activities which are as important to the children, helping them to achieve their goals and be independent.

WILLIE GUINEY RUNS AND RAISES FOR TEMPLE STREET

Willie recently ran the Dublin City Marathon on behalf of Temple Street Hospital raising a total of €3,500.00. The money will be used for the updating of equipment at the hospital and will be of great benefit to sick children on a daily basis. Willie has been running marathons since 1984. These marathons usually are used as fundraising activities to benefit local and national charities. Over the years charities which have benefitted include Kerry Parents and Friends, Ballybunion Sea Rescue, St. Francis’ Day Centre, Listowel Community Centre, Crumlin Hospital, GOAL and St. Mary of the Angels in Beaufort, in fact 25 years ago this week he completed a 35 mile run around North Kerry passing 5 football grounds, where his late brother Brendan played, running via Fingue, Ballydonoghue, Ballylongford, Tartbert, Moyvane and finally Listowel finishing in Listowel Town Square in four hours. Raising over 5,000 pounds for this particular charity. He felt a great privilege completing that particular route as it brought back many happy memories of his brother’s great playing days with Listowel Emmets.

Thanks to the following people who helped and supported with the recent Dublin City Marathon. These include Paul O’Connor, SuperValu, Listowel and all their customers who supported the event by way of a collection on the Friday prior to the Marathon itself; Principal Johnny Mulvihill and students at St. Michael’s College, Listowel , who did a “no uniform day” and presented a cheque for €500.00 which was much appreciated; the staff at Dromclough National School and also the people of North Kerry for their on-going support who have contributed so generously over the years. The support of the people of North Kerry is a tremendous motivation when participating in these marathons. The Dublin City Marathon was Willie’s fortieth marathon completed. Looking to the future Willie is eagerly preparing to run the Boston City Marathon in April 2016, where he has ran on three previous occasions. The Boston Marathon is the oldest marathon in the world, 2016 being the 120th anniversary of this great marathon. Willie qualified in his age group of over 50s to compete in this marathon by running a great Derry City Marathon in May of this year in a fantastic time of 3hrs 13mins.

LEE STRAND RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD IN FRANKFURT!

Lee Strand receives Environmental Pioneer Award for Ireland at a High Level Conference on EMAS in the European Central Bank Headquarters in Frankfurt Lee Strand attended a celebration of 20 years of premium environmental management at a High Level Conference on European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) in the European Central Bank Headquarters in Frankfurt. At the conference Lee Strand was recognised for its environmental excellence and was presented with a National Pioneer Award for Ireland. The award recognised the “Outstanding commitment to Performance, Credibility and Transparency in Environmental Management”. More than 200 EMAS users and experts gathered in the new, sustainable ECB building with participants from Member States of the European Union and China. In the presence of the ECB Vice President Vitor Constancio, 17 organisations who were among the first to register EMAS in their countries, received recognition certificates for their outstanding commitment to continuous environmental improvement through EMAS.

KDYS ANNUAL COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND

The 2015 KDYS Annual Collection will be taken up in churches this weekend of December 5th-6th. This appeal supports youth clubs in communities all over the Diocese of Kerry. KDYS Clubs offer young people a safe, affordable, enriching and fun place to go. KDYS Youth Clubs provide activities that encourage healthy living, personal growth, learning, and community involvement. We build self-esteem through supportive adult mentors and engaging activities that challenge and enrich the mind, body and spirit of each young person. Strong core values guide us in our work and teach our kids the importance of mutual respect, teamwork and being socially responsible. Throughout the Diocese of Kerry, our Clubs are managed by Volunteers trained in youth development and supported by professional youth workers. Every donation to this collection will help ensure that these clubs are able to continue opening their doors. Bishop Ray Browne says that “Young people and those who aid in their development need all of our support. By ensuring the positive development of our young people we are investing in our future. I encourage all to work together to give every young person their chance in life”. More information can be found online at www.kdys.ie

Following the ceremony, Jerry Dwyer, Milk Operations Manager, Lee Strand commented “Lee Strand is delighted to accept this award. Lee Strand has a strong commitment to producing high quality products while also adhering to environmental excellence in our milk operations. EMAS is a voluntary environmental management tool that organisations use to increase resource efficiency and savings, reduce environmental impacts, ensure legal compliance and report to stakeholders in a transparent manner.” Speaking at the conference Kestutis Sadauskas, Director for Green Economy at the EU Commission's DG Environment stated “The Commission is currently finalising a new Action Plan to help Europe develop a more circular economy. It is a highly ambitious step, which we take with a view to making the EU a more competitive, low carbon and resource-efficient economy. By boosting and greening environmental management capacities, EMAS has the potential to be a springboard towards additional circular economy initiatives."

The conference participants also looked to the benefits gained from EMAS and EMAS's role in the years to come in three panel sessions. The sessions focused on the following topics: environmental management in a circular economy and the demonstrated opportunities, benefits and challenges for the private sector; EMAS as an instrument for making cities, municipalities and offices “greener” and “smarter”; and the crucial role of public bodies in promoting advanced environmental management. The discussions reaffirmed EMAS's ability to make a meaningful contribution to a circular economy and to support cities' and municipalities' important roles as examples of environmental protection and innovation. They also demonstrated the key role of policy support in helping EMAS to promote sustainability among both private and public organisations.

FESTIVE FUN CHRISTMAS 5K IN BALLYDUFF

Want to work off that Christmas turkey? Or all those Cadbury’s Roses? Then come along for an hour of fun, frolics and fitness! All this and you'll be supporting a great cause - The Irish Cancer Society. “Every year, my family and I organise a 5k walk/run on the 26th of December in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. The event is in its fourth year and to date we have raised approx €15,000 for the charity. The walk/run was a great family occasion with children and adults of all ages braving the weather to walk or run. We just want to get people out, have fun and raise some funds along the way.” “These days everyone has known or loved someone who lost their fight with cancer. We are asking people to walk/run to raise funds for people who are still fighting this disease and for their families. But we can’t do this without your help and support.” Both the walk and the run will begin in ‘The Square’ in Ballyduff village with the route following a ‘ring’ of the village. We hope to start at 11am. Refreshments available after the event in Lowe’s Bar Ballyduff. Sponsorship cards are still available by contacting Gillian on 086 3248816 or you can find us on our Facebook page called ‘Festive Fun 5k’ for further information. 42,239 IN KERRY TO GET CHRISTMAS BONUS NEXT WEEK – SPRING

At least 42,239 people across Kerry will begin to receive the increased Christmas Bonus payment from next Monday. That’s according to Labour Arthur J Spring who said it will be paid to all people who are long-term welfare recipients, including pensioners, lone parents, jobseekers, carers and people with disabilities. “The decision by Fianna Fail to scrap the Christmas Bonus payment in 2009 was a particularly severe one. Thankfully, Tanaiste Joan Burton restored it partially last year and now the improving economic picture has enabled us to pay a 75pc Bonus to social welfare recipients this year. Labour Deputy Spring said: “I’m pleased that at least 42,239 of people in the county will benefit from the partial Christmas Bonus payment again this year. Christmas can be a financially demanding time so the bonus will go some way towards easing pressure on local households. "Local shops and businesses will benefit as the increase in the Christmas bonus will give recipients additional spending power in the month of December." “Those who will benefit county wide include 15,651 pensioners, 7,768on Jobseekers, 4,435 people on disability allowance and 2,600 people in receipt of Carer’s allowance. “It is another example of how Labour are ensuring that local people share in the economic recovery. We will continue to stand up for older people and vulnerable groups by providing increases in vital supports.”

Simon Reeves and his team visited Knockfierna on a beautiful summer’s day last June. He met with Pat O’Donovan and other members of the Knockfierna Heritage Group. They spent the day filming on Knockfierna Hill with the intention of using it in a programme he was making about Ireland. Drones were used to take the wonderful panoramic shots of this scenic landscape. Simon spoke to Pat about the plight of the people living on the hill during the famine. At the height of the famine 1,200 people inhabited the hill (which is commonage), driven from their homes when unable to pay their rent. Their English overlords failed to assist them in their hour of need. Now, no one inhabits the hill but the stone cabins remain to remind us of those difficult times. Simon Reeves empathized with those people who were so cruelly treated by his fellow countrymen. GAA Lotto: There was no winner of last week’s lotto draw. The numbers drawn were 9, 16, 26, 27. Brosna had a comprehensive win over Asdee and the game takes place Sunday week at a venue to be confirmed. Listowel await the winners after a comprehensive win over Castleisland. County League: Tarbert take on another former All Ireland winning team next Sunday when Laune Rangers travel to Shannon Park for the final county league game. The game throws in at 2pm and while Tarbert are relegated the game is a vital addition for the Brosna challenge.

THE STORY OF THOMOND PARK by Charlie Mulqueen & Brendan O’Dowd Where Miracles Happen Thomond Park is not just a magnificent stadium. It is also full of tradition, emotion, memories, and a magnificent sense of fair play and good humour. Here its history is traced in a colourful and entertaining style, highlighting great games played and great characters who graced the arena. Since the first game there in 1934, Thomond Park has become one of the world's iconic rugby venues. It is famous for many great occasions, notably Munster's 1978 defeat of the All Blacks. More recently, it has hosted memorable Heineken European Cup games involving Munster. The Miracle Match against Gloucester in 2003 stands out for many. In 2008 the glittering new Thomond Park Stadium was opened on the same site at Hassetts Cross. Once again a visit from the All Blacks contributed to the official opening and the venue retains its worldwide reputation for tradition and an outstanding sense of fair play.

Join Charley Mulqueen and Brendan O’Dowd in the shop on Saturday 12th Dec from 12 noon for the Story of Thomond Park

North Kerry Minor Championship – Final Emmets V Ballydonoghue Saturday 5th December in Ballylongford at 2.30pm County League Div 2 – Round 11 Emmets V Glenflesk - Sunday 6th December 2015 Venue: Frank Sheehy Park - Time: 2.30pm

Recent Results North Kerry Senior Championship – Semi Final: Emmets booked their place in the North Kerry Senior Championship final on Sunday last in testing conditions in Finuge. Emmets opened the scoring with a nice point from play by the in form Conor Cox who rounded an awesome display at full forward kicking 7 points (0-5 from play). Ger McCarthy had an equally awesome display showing for ball and was at the start of every play. Emmets led from start to finish with Cox the main talisman Desmonds struggled to contain the lively forward who linked well with Sheehy and Kennelly to kick two good points from play as Desmonds attacked they found it increasingly hard to break down the Emmets defensive lines and were forced to shoot from far out and at times paid off with a good angled score from the Desmonds midfielder to open their scoring on the tenth minute, unfortunately for the Desmonds they lost their corner forward Thomas Hickey to injury. In the resulting attack their full forward kicked a good score from play against the swirling wind. Emmets continued to battle hard at midfield and picked up a lot of breaking ball which Maurice Whelan, Ger McCarthy and Cormac Mulvihill used to their advantage with the latter kicking a huge score from play to leave 3 between the sides going into the final quarter of the half. As the wind began to pick up Micheal Lynch fetched the ball at midfield linking with Kennelly who drove the ball long into the square and deflected back out to the waiting Conor Cox again the ball with in with Brendan Flavin getting to the end of it for the only goal of the game Emmets 1-4 Desmonds 0-2, Emmets continued to attack in force with Kennelly and Cox linking well Kennelly was goal bound only to see his shot well saved by the Desmonds keeper, leaving the half time score Emmets 1-5 Desmonds 0-2. Desmonds emerged the hungrier in the opening half and attacked in waves with Desmonds Maurice Hickey taking a good score on the kick-out Desmonds attacked once more resulting in a penalty taken by their center forward who missed his shot and blazed over. Emmets continued to apply the pressure again with a good point from Ger McCarthy from far out. Emmets did not give up and attacked at every opportunity with Cormac Mulvihill and Conor Cox all getting on the scoreboard. Final score Emmets 1-11 Desmonds 0-7 points. Emmets will now meet with the winners of Tarbert V Brosna which is due to be played on 13th December. Referee: Ian Liston Finuge Scores: Conor Cox (0-7, 0-2f), Brendan Flavin (1-0), Cormac Mulvihill (0-2), Noel Kennelly, Ger McCarthy (0-1)

The bad weather played havoc with our fixtures again last weekend with only the National Cup games going ahead.

U12's: Our U12 A team made the journey to Limerick last Saturday to play Pike Rovers in the last 64 of the SFAI National Cup. Celtic started the better team and were the first to score with Aoife Horgan on target, this was fol-

lowed with another goal courtesy of Kieran O Carroll. It left the half time score 2.0 in our favor. Plke came out in the second half and scored 2 unanswered goals before Kieran O Carroll stuck the ball in the back of the net to put Listowel Celtic ahead 3 goals to 2. Pike scored again to level matters before Aoife Horgan scored again for Celtic to go 1 up, Pike went on to score two more, the second coming in the final minutes to win the match. The final score was Listowel Celtic 4 Pike Rovers 5. Huge credit to our team who were the more skillful on the day but just didn't get the 'rub of the green'. Thanks to the parents and all that traveled to support them.

U14's: Our U14 team were also in Limerick on Saturday last as they played Aisling Annacotty and this went all the way to extra time. It was a very close game in which the home team took the lead early on in the game. Mikey Nolan struck for Celtic before half time to bring the sides level. Celtic started the second half the brighter team with Conor Hogan crafting the ball over the keeper to take the lead. Aisling Annacotty threw everything at Celtic and were awarded a penalty for handball which they duly converted. Both sides had chances to win the game with Aisling Annacotty's keeper tipping over a Kieran Swan free kick and Mikey Nolan bringing another save from him. Our keeper, Shane O Sullivan, denied Aisling Annacotty in the final minutes with a great double save. Celtic dominated the last 15 minutes of normal time but were unable to find the back of the net. Extra time saw Aisling Annacotty the stronger team, they scored the winner from a cross out wide to leave the final score Aisling Annacotty 3 Listowel Celtic 2 AET. Both teams played excellent football on the day and full credit to a fine Celtic team. LISTOWEL RUGBY

Listowel RFC U15's Girls through to Munster final. With the game moved to Tralee RFC on short notice this slight disruption to the girls preparation did not deter in their performance. They set out their stall in the first few minutes with try within 2mins of the game. Wonderful worked try with Murineann Kennelly offloading to Mary Kate Reidy going in at the corner. The concentration did not drop from the team as they knew this was another great opportunity to be in another Final, The performance was all over the pitch with the front rows of Danica Kelliher was relentless in her pursuit to hunt down the opposition which the rest of the pack followed Mary Murphy so mature beyond her years in terms of her experience around the pitch Shauna Mulvihill always willing to get in to rucks and help her team mates out. Kayla Mulvihill with two big runs down the wings making massive yards for her team. Becca Reilly with her trademark kick pass through the defense and going over the line for a try. The expertise of Claire Beasley and Trish Scanlon was clear to see the game management by both of them. The new addition of Deirdra O Halloran is getting better by every minute on the pitch. Aine Enright was making her presence know in the breakdown was a big factor in controlling the ball. The back line were itching to get the hands on the ball and they didn't disappoint and they are a serious outfit, Meadbh McEligott was leading light in this regard with straight running and Sabdh Giffin on her shoulder. It was left with the Captain Rebecca Mason who was constantly on any loose ball and showed a clean pair of heels against a very competitive opposition in Bantry who to their credit claim the last try. Hannah Murphy who was there to shout on her teammates. Hope to see everyone at the final on the 13th Dec, 2015. Girls Training every Thursday & Sat, we have teams at U13's, U15's & U18's for further details please contact me at 0871341805 or check out Facebook.

ASDEE GAA

CHAMPIONSHIP. Brosna 1-12 -v- Asdee 0-3. Asdees aspirations of reaching their first Bernard O Callaghan Memorial Senior Football Championship Semi Final were dashed on Sunday last when Brosna served notice of their intention to claim their first North Kerry Senior Championship title with a comprehensive win over Asdee played in difficult weather conditions at Frank Sheehy Park, Listowel. In fairness to Asdee they tried hard and probably should have registered a few more scores but a much more determined and classier Brosna side were always in command and as the game petered out the result was never in doubt long before the sound of Brendan Griffins final whistle. The game got underway with Brosna having a slight wind advantage with a tricky crossfield wind and as play swung from end to end it was defences that were completely on top, with Aaron Cahill,

48

Eamon Kiely and Shane Fitzmaurice excelling for Brosna while Eoin O Carroll, Martin Collins and Kieran Kelly were on top for Asdee and it took until the 14th minute before the scoreboard got moving when Mike Finnegan swung over a neat point; this was followed with further points from Adam Barry, 18th minute and a minute later Tom McGoldrick pointed. However even though both sides registered wides it was Asdee who seemed to be getting nearer the posts but were off target each time. Tom McGoldrick kicked two further points in the 22nd and 25th minute before Don McAuliffe got on the end of a high delivery by Mike Finnegan to punch to the net by the 26th minute. Now what ever chances Asdee had of making a game of it were gone out the window as the St. Kierans men were dictating play and with in particular Adam Barry who covered every blade of grass in Sheehy Park and causing endless problems each time he got on the ball.Eventually Asdee got on the scoreboard when midfielder John Doran split the uprights with two minutes remaining in the half but Brosna had the final say as Mike Finnegan made it Brosna 1-6 Asdee 0-1 at half time. On resumption it was pretty much the same in terms of possession and even though Asdee held their own at midfield they tried hard but were never able to match a far more superior Brosna side who used up their bench at the three quarter stage and went on to play some very intelligent football and kicking some fine scores into the bargain; Asdee custodion James Kelly twarted Don McAuliffe from scoring his second goal of the game when he brought of a tremendous point blank save as we approached the final whistle; Eoin Tydings and Mike Breen,(f) pointed for Asdee while Mike Finnegan, Don McAuliffe, Tom McGoldrick got further points for Brosna. Probably what was a huge factor between the teams was that the Brosna forwards always looked dangerous in possession while a much lighter Asdee attack lacked the physical strength of their opponents been disposed rather easily and were always struggling to find the target. In fairness Darragh Keane, Cyril Dineen and to a lesser extent Eoin Tydings tried hard but the opposing attack had all potential match winners on their side which really decided this contest. Brosna will now go on to contest a semi final meeting with Tarbert on Sunday December 13th with a venue to be decided on. Asdee, James Kelly, Con Carmody, Martin Collins, Eoin O Carroll, Noel Long, Sean Keane, Kieran Kelly, John Doran, 1pt, Padraig Ruddle, Mike Breen, 1,(f) Eoin Kennedy, Darren Russell, Darragh Keane, Eoin Tydings, 1pt, Cyril Dineen. Subs; Paul O Carroll for Cyril Dineen, Brian Coughlan for Eoin O Carroll, inj, Michael Tydings for Mike Breen, Michael Walsh for Darren Russell. Referee, Brendan Griffin, Clounmacon. MINORS: Asdee/Bally Minor footballers qualified for the North Kerry Division 2 Championship semi final defeating Finuge recently and will now take on Tarbert/Moyvane at Stack Park, Ballybunion on a date to be confirmed.

NORTH KERRY GAA P.R.O. MAIREAD O’SULLIVAN

Mobile: 086 3689061 | Email: osullivan_mairead@yahoo.com NORTH KERRY CHAMPIONSHIP Sponsored by McMunns Bar & Restaurant Ballybunion Semi Final: Listowel Emmets 1.11 -v- Castleisland Desmonds 0.07 Report by Mairead O Sullivan - This game was one the neutrals were eager to see played in Finuge with perfect underfoot conditions thank you to Finuge GAA, but I am afraid that the game as a contest never lived up to the billing. Desmonds look flat and lost all confidence when in the 7th minute of the first half star forward Thomas Hickey left the pitch due to a groin injury, and Desmonds stopped kicking the ball into the forward line. Emmets on the other hand still looked hungry and are now in the Final for the third year in a row, with captain Ger McCarthy bridging the gap between the two forty fives, buzzing all over the pitch tormenting his marker and forward Connor Cox on form scoring 8pts Emmets could do no wrong. It took only 35 seconds for the first score on the board coming from Emmets Conor Cox, the play went from end to end with no forward capitalising on possession. It was Desmonds Thomas Lynch who pointed in the 3rd minute which was quickly followed by a free converted by Maurice Hickey, but that was to Desmond's lot for the half which was very disappointing from a team of their status. Emmets on the other hand pushed on with cox converting two free's in the 9th and 12th minutes, and from here on the backs on both sides did a man marking job it was Emmets wingback Cormac Mulvihill who split the posts in the 13th minute but to finish the game as a contest wing forward Brendan Flavin rattled the Desmonds net in the 20th minute, to finish the half Conor Cox split the uprights in the 30th minute half time Emmets 1.05 Desmonds 0.02 Second half and it was Desmonds who again started the brighter when a penalty was awarded in the 4th minute everyone thought that this was the comeback but unfortunately for the Desmonds men the ball was drove high and over the bar by wingforward Patrick Hickey, again Emmets inspirational leader Conor Cox replied in the 6th minute to keep the 5 pt deficit between the two sides from here on in it the teams battled it out point for point with both sides scoring five more points a piece. But the first half performance from Desmonds left the hill to much to climb in such stormy weather conditions. So the Emmets men march into the Final waiting the winners of Brosna v Tarbert. Referee Ian Liston Finuge. Quarter Final: Asdee 0.03 -v- Brosna 1.12 Report by Report by Jack Hennessy - Asdees aspirations of reaching their first Bernard O Callaghan Memorial Senior Football Championship Semi Final were dashed on Sunday last when Brosna served notice of their intention to claim their first North Kerry Senior Championship title with a comprehensive win over Asdee played in difficult weather conditions at Frank Sheehy Park , Listowel. The pitch was was in perfect condition and thank you to the Emmets Club. In fairness to Asdee they tried hard and probably should have registered a few more scores but a much more determined and classier Brosna side were always in command and as the game petered out the result was never in doubt long before the sound of Brendan Griffins final whistle. (Full report in the Asdee GAA notes)
