North Kerry League: Tarbert took on Moyvane in Shannon Park last Sunday winning on a scoreline of 0-16 to 1-9 in a very entertaining game of football. Conor Flavin opened the scoreline with Moyvane leveling almost immediately before Micheal Carrig put Tarbert up again and this was followed by an excellent Gerald O’Sullivan score. Moyvane drew level again and three free from the boot of Andrew Doherty put Tarbert ahead but Moyvane kept coming back to draw level at half time 0-6 each. Two more point by Doherty was followed by an excellent Moyvane goal ten minutes into the second half to take the lead for the first time. Tarbert to their credit did not panic and the full back line of Jason Wren, Sean Carrig and Michael Heaphy kept tight control of the Moyvane forward line. Two Shane O’Connor long range frees put Tarbert in front and points from Doherty, O’Sullivan and Mark Buckley extended Tarbert’s lead. A final point from Ambrose Lanigan ensured victory for Tarbert who now play Brosna in a play off game to see who qualifies for the semi final. Next Sunday Tarbert commence the County League game at home to Annuscaul. This is a very important game for the club and your support would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully Kerry star Shane Enright will be available for the game. Throw in is at 2pm Minors : Tarbert Moyvane minors had a very good win last Saturday beating John Mitchels on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-7. This was a good team performance and the team now play a vital game next Saturday where the team travel to Churchill. Coiste na nOg: For any children who missed the opportunity to register for the club for the coming year, parents can contact the coaches of the appropriate age group to arrange registration. All children who wish to play football for Tarbert in 2016 must be registered with the Club. Thanks to all those who contributed to the recent church gate collection.

North Kerry Senior Football League Division 1B - Round 2 Backgame Emmets 1-08 Ballydonoghue 2-10 This North Kerry league backgame was played in Frank Sheehy park on Sunday last and it was the Ballydonoghue supporters that went away the happiest. It didn't take long for the game to spring into life when in the third minute Emmets forward David Sheehy rattled the net with a cracking shot after some excellent work from defenders Cormac Mulvihill and Jake Moriarty. Bryan Murphy added a nice point a minute later as Emmets raced into a 1-1 to no score lead. Paul Kennelly put the visitors on the board with a well worked score soon after, before Conor Cox pointed to restore Emmets four point lead after an excellent pass from Cormac Mulvihill. Ballydonoghue began to settle into the game as their backs really tightened up and pointed a close range free on 15 minutes. A well worked score 4 minutes later left them just two points adrift of the hosts until David Sheehy who was having a fine opening quarter, replied in great style. This score was quickly over-shadowed by a brilliant goal from Ballydonoghue corner forward Jack Foley when he lifted the ball over Eddie Horgan to put the visitors right back into the game. The 5 minutes before half-time provided great entertainment as both teams traded blows to leave it all square at the break, 1-05 to 1-05, Emmets scores coming from Cormac Mulvihill and the impressive Bryan Murphy. A David Sheehy brace inside 2 minutes of the restart, the first a close range free followed by a cleverly worked team score gave Emmets the advantage as they probed and looked for openings in the Ballydonoghue defence who to their credit, were well up to the task. It was from here on in that the visitors took the game by the scruff of the neck and really attacked Listowel with venom. A pointed free was cancelled out by a David Sheehy placed ball before a second Jack Foley goal put Ballydonoghue in the driving seat and they never looked back from there. Listowel had a few opportunities to find a way back but failed to trouble the scoreboard and it was the visitors who left the town with the points in the bag. Final Score: Emmets 1-08 Ballydonoghue 2-10 Fixtures: Keane’s Supervalu County Minor League – Round 3 Kerin’s O’Rahillys V Emmets has been postponed until Monday March 21st at 2pm in Strand Road Emmets Seniors are away to Glenflesk this Sunday in the first round of the Credit Union County League at 2pm

LISTOWEL ATHLETIC CLUB
National Indoors: Pride of place goes to Aoife Mahony who won an U18 National indoor title last weekend in the fabulous arena in Athlone. Aoife took part in both the 1500 and 800m over the weekend. First up on Saturday, was an early rise at 6am for a 1500m race in the morning, where Aoife finished 4th in a straight final. Aoife battled hard in a tactical but fast race to finish very strong into fourth.
As a true athlete, Aoife's spirit was still strong knowing that she learned alot for this race. Another early start on Sunday morning for the heats of the 800m. Aoife ran in heat two, the stronger of the heats, but running really well, won her heat. The two races in one day was always going to test the athletes and especially those who ran on Saturday. Aoife started strong in the final, taking the lead in the first 100m, settled into second for the next 100m. As the pace slowed a bit, Aoife took command again at the 200m mark to lead from the front. This tactic of setting the pace was one which burned alot of the other athletes. At the half way point, Aoife had strung out the field with about ten meters back to fourth. Aoife attacked again in the "Killing Zone" that is between 400 and 600m. In the last 150m, Aoife pulled away from second place, to create a gap that she was not going to relinquish to the finish the line. Aoife finished in the Gold medal position with a Pb of 2 mins 15 secs. Well done Aoife, this is a great reward for your dedication and hard work to the sport. Aoife is a inspiration to all the younger athletes who can see if you put the effort in day in, day out you will get the rewards you deserve. Everyone in the club are very proud of you.
Brosna struggled in the first half, and we went into the interval with a 1-10 to 0-3 advantage. With the outcome was never in doubt, Beale tagged on the scores and it was only in the last quarter that Brosna set about closing the gap. The final score read 2-14 to 0-13. Having won all our games to date, we top the table and await details of the semi-final date.

The U18’s made it all the way to the Final of the Munster Cup. This was a huge success as they brushed aside teams on the way that had easily beaten them in the last two seasons. The combined Listowel and Tralee girls were seconds away from winning the silverware, however a converted try in the dying seconds from Shannon gave them a 12-8 victory. Well done to Caolainn Healy, Ciara Shine and Dearbhla Canty on making it to the next round of Munster trials, the girls will now train with the current Munster team and fellow team mates Muirne Wall and Hayley Betts and fight hard for their place on the squad... Well done ladies, all the club is very proud of you and wish ye the best of luck. The u13’s continue to grow by playing games against Abbeyfeale and taking part in an all Munster blitz in Garryowen last weekend. Beale had the upperhand on Asdee/Ballylongford, by 5-16 to 3- 10 on Saturday afternoon in the County Minor Football League, Division 5 (13-aside). Beale travelled to Asdee in glorious sunshine in their first game of the county league. Asdee/Ballylongford got off to the better start and were four points to one up after ten minutes. The rest of the first half was all Beale with a goal from Cillian Courtney and points from Darragh Buckley and Sheamie O'Sullivan saw the seasiders ahead by 1-7 to 0-4 at the short whistle. Beale drove on on the changeover with two more goals from Cillian Courtney, one from the penalty spot. Asdee/Ballylongford were awarded two penalties, one which was converted, the other was well saved by keeper, Michael Eoin O'Sullivan. Asdee/Ballylongford staged a late comeback but were never going to threaten the final score line. ASDEE GAA
NORTH KERRY LEAGUE: Asdee 1-12 Duagh 3-4. Asdee senior footballers eventually got their first game of the season underway when they travelled to Duagh on Sunday last to take on the home side in Round 5 of the North Kerry Football League Division 2 and after a well contested encounter played in perfect underfoot conditions the visitors after enjoying the lions share of possession throughout were very happy to hear the sound of the final whistle. This was a game that Asdee looked to have wrapped up on at least two occasions but fair dues to Duagh they dug deep and coming up to the final whistle it was the visitors who were clinging on to their 2pt lead with Duagh in full flight in search of the score that could have yielded them victory. The game opened with the home side setting down a marker and within 3mts both Ger McCarthy and Denis Lane had their side ahead by 2pts without reply and only for some poor shooting in front of goal could have been further ahead before Noel Long set up Eoin Kennedy for a goal 2mts later. This seemed to spur on the visitors and points from Noel Long, Mike Breen and Eoin Tydings,(2) had them cruising 1-4 to 0-2 by the 17th minute. Now whether Asdee took their leg off the pedal or not but in a quick break-a-way by the home side left Duaghs wing back John Joy who took advantage of some slackness in the Asdee defence and he hammered the ball to the net with 10mts remaining in the half. The remainder of the scorers came from Eoin Tydings and Noel Long for Asdee with Tom Scanlon replying for Duagh and at the half time whistle Asdee led 1-6 Duagh 1-3. On resumption it was Asdee who were quick out of blocks and inside 7 seconds Eoin Kennedy split the uprights to increase his sides tally. Without doubt the introduction of Aidan Kelly in the opening half proved to be a masterstroke for Duagh as he was to be very much involved in the home sides recovery as the game progressed even though they had to do without their sharpshooter Ger McCarthy who retired injured early on. Aidan Kelly pointed for Duagh but it was Asdee who extended their lead with points from John Doran, Eoin Kennedy,(2) Mike Breen and by the 11th minute with Asdee in full control leading 1-11 to 1-4 the game looked over. Both sides were off target but Asdee were full value for their 7th point lead. However with the visiting keeper James Kelly in possession the ball was clearly pulled out of his grasp and Aidan Kelly sent the ball into the empty net; controversial but the goal stood. Substitute Paul O Carroll sent over for Asdee and with under 8mts left for play it was 1-12 to 1-4 for Asdee. Duagh were still not finished and a defence splitting movement out of defence saw John Curran blast to the net from an acute angle and make it a 2pt game. 5mts remained and as the ball swung from end to end it was Asdee who finished deserving winners despite a great fight back from Duagh.
MINORS. MINOR COUNTY LEAGUE DIV 5 Asdee/Ballylongford 3-10 Beale 4-14. The second round of the Division 5 Minor County league threw-in at 1 o’clock on Saturday last (March 12th) in perfect conditions in O’Rahilly Park Ballylongford. The home side suffered their first loss of the competition to neighbours Beale whose forwards, especially Darragh Buckley kept their side ahead of the combination side. The first half ended on a one sided scoreline of Asdee/Bally 4pts, Beale 1-7. Upon resumption, it was the visitors that started the brighter in the second half with an extra 1-4 on the scoreboard by the 15th minute. Asdee/Bally however got to grips and late goals, one of which was a penalty, from Eoin O’Connor brought the homeside closer. It proved to be too little too late however as the final whistle blew with Asdee/Bally trailing 4-14 to 3-10. Asdee/Bally meet Ballyduff/Duagh in the third round on March 26th.

CLOTHES COLLECTION: Ballydonoghue GAA annual clothes collection will take place Wed March 16th at the clubrooms Coolard.
RESULTS: NK League Div1 Listowel 1-8. Ballydonoghue 2-10. Great result in Listowel on Sunday after overcoming a shaky start as Listowel struck for an early goal. With 20mins gone Listowel still had that goal advantage 1-3 to 3pts. But minutes later a great piece of individual skill from Jack Foley saw him solo in along the end line before cheekily chipping the keeper to bring the sides level. A few minutes later Paul Kennelly gave us the lead for the first time but Listowel drew level again just before half time. Listowel 1-5 Ballydonoghue 1-5. Three minutes into the second half, Listowel had pulled ahead by 2pts, both sides then exchanged points. But as we approached the final quarter, Jack Foley in a race with the Listowel keeper got on the end of a Paul Kennelly fisted pass and at full stretch, fisted the ball past the approaching keeper to give us a one point lead. B/D 2-6. Listowel 1-8. We went on from there and were much the better side in the remaining period kicking four more points without reply. The result sets up a semi-final meeting with Beale. Darragh O'Shea, John Enright, Diarmuid Behan, Billy Foley, Conor Kennelly, Tommy Kennelly (Capt),Jack Gogarty, John O'Mahony, Wagne Dowling, Jim Cremin (0-1), Daragh Sheehy, Paul Kennelly (0-8), Jack Foley (2-0), Eamon Walsh, Kieran Lynch.(0-1) Subs used :- Kevin O'Donnell for Daragh Sheehy, Darren O’Connor for Darragh O’Shea (Kerry U21 Wed.) FIXTURES: Co. League Div 3 First round Ballydonoghue v Brosna on Sunday March 20th at 2:00pm in Coolard. Round 2 on Sunday April 3rd Ballydonoghue away to Annascaul. NOVENA TO ST. MARTHA
O St. MARTHA, I resort to thee and to thy petition and faith, I offer up to thee this light which I shall burn every Tuesday for nine Tuesdays. Comfort me in all my difficulties thro' the great favour thou did’st enjoy when Our Saviour lodged in thy house. I beseech thee to have definite pity in regard to the favour I ask (mention favour). Intercede for my family that we may always be provided for in all our necessities. I ask thee St. Martha to overcome the dragon which thou didst cast at thy feet. One Our Father and three Hail Marys, and a lighted candle every Tuesday and the above prayer made known with the intentions of spreading devotion to St. Martha. Never known to fail. Thanksgiving for favours received, also thanksgiving to The Blessed Virgin and The Sacred Heart MOB
SACRED HEART OF JESUS
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the past I have asked many favours but today I ask you this special one, (mention request). Take it dear heart of Jesus and place it within your own broken heart, where your father sees it. Then in his merciful eyes it will become your own favour not mine. Say this prayer for three days and promise publication and your favour will be granted. J.C.
