KERRY CREDIT UNIONS HIGHLIGHT THE SUCCESS OF CULTIVATE FARM FINANCE ACROSS THE COUNTY

This week, Cultivate, the collaborative credit union finance lending platform for farmers, announced that six more credit unions have joined the platform in counties Carlow, Cavan, Donegal, Laois, Monaghan, and Wexford. In Kerry, Listowel Credit Union, Cara Credit Union, Killarney Credit Union and are participating members of Cultivate. The national expansion highlights how more and more farmers are turning to Cultivate for their farm finance. Speaking on behalf of Listowel Credit Unions, Ashley FitzGerald said: “We are delighted to welcome six new credit unions to the Cultivate family. Kerry & North Kerry Farmers continue to invest in a sustainable future for their farming enterprises. Our Credit Unions are a specialist provider of finance to farmers and offer flexible unsecured loans up to €50,000. We have seen a consistent growth in our Cultivate farm loans. The reality on the ground is that, despite Covid-19 and Brexit, there is a growing demand among farmers for access to local, friendly finance with quick decision making.” The average Cultivate loan application in the first 6 months of 2021 was for €26,791, with repayments spread over a 6-year period. The most popular loans were for stocking and working capital (25%), followed closely by farm buildings (24%) and tractor purchases (17%). Beef farmers continue to drive the majority of Cultivate loan applications, accounting for 7 out of 10 of the total loan applications in the first 6 months of 2021, while dairy farmers accounted for 21%, sheep farmers for 7% and tillage farmers for 2%. For any farmer who wants to find out more please contact Listowel Credit Union. Tel: 06821938 | Email: loans@listowelcu.ie Photo: James and Helena capture the mood as Cultivate announce a further growth of its loan offering to more than 100 locations. Demand for the loans is up 50% in the first half of 2021 on the same period in 2020.

The Listowel line-up includes a mix of acts with something for everyone from brass band to pure pop, rocking rock, classics and trad including… Eoghan Duignan, John Browne & Brendan O’Sullivan | Tim O’Shea & Afro Trad Ireland | Liam O’Connor & Family | Seamus Begley & Donogh Hennessy | Sephira | Peter Staunton & Super Ceili Tralee and Killarney will also have events over the weekend 25 and 26th September. The full programme is available on anseokerry.com as well as performer and ticket information. According to Cllr. Jimmy Moloney, Mayor of Kerry, ‘This is such a positive initiative which has been carefully and safely designed to support those who locally work in the arts and live entertainment. This sector has been badly affected over the past 18 months. Not only will these live concerts be a boost to musicians, but will support staff whose livelihoods disappeared overnight, as well of course as being a great experience for those attending.’ ANSEO Kerry will be a family-friendly, alcohol-free, ticket only event for 200 people in pods of four. The concerts will be free of charge and there is expected to be much demand for these socially distanced shows. Tickets are limited but the shows will also be streamed online for those who can’t be there in person. ANSEO Kerry is being run in line with full government guidelines and protocols in place. Tickets will be limited to 200 for each event and are bookable via www.anseokerry.com. For more info contact: Nicole McKenna - 0872606479 - nicolemckenna@gmail.com

CAROLINE’S DÓTERRA ESSENTIAL OILS CAROLINE’S POD OF POSITIVITY Welcome to our weekly column and our Pod of Positivity. It is here you will find little tips and tools that help us to maintain a life of Health, Wellness, Love, and Gratitude as well as all the information on dóTerra’s powerful Essential Oils. Sometimes All We Need Is Some Console! This week I want to talk to you about DóTerra’s emotional aromatherapy oil called Console, which is a beautiful blend of Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Patchouli Leaf, Rose, and Osmanthus Flower. It was designed to help and support us with feelings of Comfort and Hope, particularly during a time of Grief, Sadness, or Loss. It was gifted to me by a dear friend ever before I began my Wellness Journey with dóTerra’s Essential Oils, and this beautiful comforting bottle of essential oil has helped so many others over the last year and weeks gone by at a time in their lives when they needed a little Console. When we apply dóTerra’s Console essential oil to our wrist points, behind our ears and over our heart area, it promotes feelings of positivity and dispels negative and hopeless feelings. As many of our social media Pod Followers know, this is one of my most favourite oils, and I love diffusing one or two drops in my dóTerra cold water diffuser. When wearing and diffusing this beautiful oil, it provides a sense of peace, relaxation, and positivity. It is also immensely powerful in giving our bodies that emotional strength to help make it through the day, and if you apply it to the soles of your feet in the mornings it helps promote feelings of comfort and hope. As we gently ease ourselves into Autumn Winter, we need to set our minds to a healthy one and using dóTerra’s Console has helped comfort my mind and bring me positivity, so I’m sharing a few inspirational words with you that I came across to let go of beliefs that no longer serve you and help set your mind to a healthy one! ‘For A Healthy Mind’ - Avoid Envy, Avoid Regret, Avoid Resentments, Avoid Anxious Fears, Avoid Anger, Avoid Inward Fretting, Avoid Sadness Not Communicated. Express Hopes and Dreams, Express Mirth, Express Delight, Express Wonder, Express Admiration, Express Gratitude, and most of all, Express Love. As an advocate for dóTerra’s essential oils I know how the oils can support the Body, the Mind, and the Mood, and over the last year, I’m delighted and so grateful to have been able to help so many people in starting their oily journey with DóTerra. These oils can be used in three different ways: Topically – applying them on to our skin with or without a carrier oil. Aromatically – by placing a two to three drops into a cold-water diffuser and diffusing these oils in our homes, classrooms, offices, salons or places of work and business. And the third way, internally – by adding them to your favourite food, waters, or drinks, or simply by taking one drop under the tongue daily. The oils are a natural solution to care for our needs and our Family’s health needs and they can support us in many of the following that we experience from time to time, such as: Anxiety Issues, Digestive Support, Sleep Assist, Muscle Care, Stress Buster, Depression, Grief, Energy Boost, Skin Support, Immunity Boost, Allergy Assist and so much more.

SAN RITA WELLNESS

Welcome to San Rita Wellness weekly column… How are you?

This is a question we often ask or are asked and it can roll off the tongue very easily. It is also a question we can answer without really thinking about. Some words that may come to mind when you are answering that question could be for example..I am Great, I’m Ok, Grand, Fine, Awful, Not too good, Hanging in there. Your answer could be from a positive answer to a negative answer, all depending on your mood and feelings at the time. Moods and Feelings can have arms and legs and can grow in different directions and also take us in different directions. “How we think determines how we feel and how we feel determines what we do“ Some of you may be feeling: In Control Routine - Many of us feel more in control when we have a set routine. Whether it is with work or children going to school. Have a set bedtime ensures that we have a good nights sleep. Food - Having the right foods in the house is important especially when we are conscious of making healthy choices for mealtimes . Also we are less likely to make rash decisions and choose less healthier foods. Activity - Becoming more active are all important steps for a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the day be mindful of walking as much as you can. All of these steps count towards the recommended 10,000 steps a day for overall good health and wellbeing. Our San Rita Wellness ethos is when we “ Eat Well“ we “Feel Well“ and therefore we “Live Well“ Emotional - Happy, Sad, Stressed, Tired. These FEELINGS can be triggers to reach for the wrong kind of foods. This can create what is known as a vicious circle and can be hard to break out of. Identifying these emotional feelings and dealing with them in a different way other than eating your way through them can have a different outcome for you at the end of the day. More Positive: Positive V Negative. Many things can sway us from one to the other . The weather for example, sunny day/rainy day. Restricions /No restrictions. These are some of the things we have no control over. Focus on the things we have control over to leave you feeling more positive and getting an outcome that will benefit you for the better. Supported: There are many support groups out there in all areas so nobody should ever feel that they have to do or cope with something on their own .We also find that in our San Rita Wellness weekly Zoom meetings that our members feel that being part of a group offers them the support they need with their weight loss and wellness journey. For extra support and for weekly accountability check us out on Facebook San Rita Wellness or sanritawellness.ie for details of our “ At Home Service “ or our “ One to One Service “ Call us now: Sandra 087 6718377 | Rita 087 1012174 Until next week, Sandra and Rita

After a tough Div 1 County League campaign our U12 ladies faced Southern Gaels in the A Final this week in St Michael’s Foilmore. They fought hard and bravely to narrow the margin to 9-7 near the end but unfortunately Southern Gales defence was just too strong for them. We would sincerely like to thank the Southern Gales team and management for hosting such a fantastic final. The girls stood together before throw in to hear Amhrán na BhFiann being sung, the game was video recorded and the refreshments provided afterwards were so greatly appreciated. There was a wonderful sense of occasion which the girls won’t forget for a very long time. A well deserved rest and recharge for next year will be truly enjoyed! Emmets Abú!!

BALLYLONGFORD DEFIBRILLATOR An URGENT appeal is being made in regards to a Fundraiser for a new defibrillator. A go fund me page has been set up which can be found online on the gofundme website by searching for Ballylongford on the website or by searching for a new defibrillator needed in Ballylongford. Or at the link Fundraiser by Ballylongford Enterprise Association : New Defibrillator needed in Ballylongford (gofundme. com) . A new Defibrillator is needed in Ballylongford as the current one on the Church gate, adjacent to the Parish Hall is not working and has reached the end of its lifespan as it will be ten years old soon. It is of the utmost importance that we have a working defibrillator in the town and this fundraiser is being organised by The Ballylongford Enterprise Association who are hoping to raise the necessary funds, to purchase a new modern defibrillator with a cabinet, with accompanying pads and the relevant equipment that is required and also to have the funds to retain the first responders in the area and also train new first responders. The sooner the funds are raised and we can get this lifesaving equipment the better as it will be out in the public eye ready for use should it be required and it will not be locked away. It will be erected in the same area which will be very close to the Ballylongford national school. The Enterprise Association are hoping to raise €6,000 euro and are asking kindly for donations of any amount please. We all know how important this lifesaving equipment is and especially considering the distance to the nearest hospital from the area, therefore a defibrillator is vital in saving lives. We have many members of our community with heart conditions and some with stints bypasses etcetera etc. However, it is not just people with underlying conditions who may need the use of this lifesaving equipment as anyone in the community may need it including our children as heart problems, SADS and other medical conditions could affect everybody including our children. Even the most healthiest of people could require the use of this equipment to save their lives, the shocking scenes where professional footballer and super fit Christian Ericsson at the European Championships suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch only to be saved by the use of a defibrillator further highlighted that nobody knows when they may need the use of a Defibrillator. So, if you could please donate to such a worthy cause it would be greatly appreciated by everyone in the community and there is nothing too small as everything helps. This Fundraiser is organised by the Ballylongford Enterprise Association who have done magnificent work in our community. Such as purchasing the creamery and selling it for a profit of over 200,000 and out of this money the Parish Hall was fully refurbished and modernised with an elevator for those with disabilities, the elevator costs over €1,000 a year to run and maintain. The old fire station (O’Sullivan’s Hardware Shop) was also purchased by the group. This is one of the many works that the Enterprise Association has done for the town. The Enterprise Association runs the Oyster Festival every year but unfortunately due to Coronavirus this has not taken place since 2019 but hopefully will return in 2022. The Enterprise is currently in the process of constructing a war of independence walk in

the town with the plaques currently under construction with some ready to be erected. The Ballylongford Enterprise Association and the Chairman of the Association Noel Lynch is appealing for everybody’s help and would like to say thank you for any donations which would be greatly accepted. BLACKSMITHING FAIR Don’t forget!!! The first event at Ballylongford Mill, will be the forthcoming Ballylongford Blacksmithing Fair which will be held over the weekend of 25th-26th September 2021. There will be blacksmithing displays in the Creamery and grounds from Forged in Ireland and guest Blacksmiths, vintage tractors, hand forged and old wares for sale, food and refreshments and roving musicians. The Blacksmiths that will be demonstrating throughout the weekend are from Forged in Ireland, a group of Irish craftsmen of all levels who teach and share their knowledge of blacksmithing, bladesmithing, knife making, metal art, tinsmithing, metallurgy and related metal working crafts. This will be a family friendly weekend with entertainment for the kids; admission is €5 for adults with children under 16 free. Come along and see Ireland’s best Blacksmiths all in one place, and all proceeds will go towards repairs to the roof of Ballylongford Mill. The Planning Application for restoration and redevelopment of the Mill site is currently going through Kerry County Council, with work on the Mill and grounds set to start mid next year. This will be a family friendly weekend with entertainment for the kids; admission is €5 for adults with children under 16 free. BALLYDUFF GAA NEWS County Minor Hurling Championship: Pride of place this week goes to our minor hurling team who won back to back Minor Hurling Championship titles, for the first time since 1972/1973. Playing their third final in a row Ballyduff had 13 points to spare over St Brendans at Austin Stack Park on Saturday last. As has been the case in the previous games we started slowly and led 0 – 9 to 0 - 6 at halftime with five of St Brendans points coming from frees. Straight after the restart we hit a purple patch and outscored our opponents by ten points to two in the third quarter to lead by 0 - 19 to 0 - 8 at the second water break. In the final quarter the management team could afford to give the younger players a run and savour the atmosphere of a County Final. At the end of the contest the final score read Ballyduff 0 – 23 St. Brendans 0 – 10. After the game Paudie Dineen, County Hurling Officer, presented the Sean Lovett Cup to winning captain Anthony Kavanagh and the “Man of the Match” award to Kieran O’Carroll. Tremendous credit must go to the Backroom team of John Hennessy Manager, Mikey Boyle Coach, and Selectors Padraig Harrington and William Quinlan for their time and effort during the year. The style of hurling played by the team was a delight to watch and was a vindication of your Coaching. DEATHS The death took place of Anna Maria (Hannah) Kearney, (née Cregan )of Manchester, England and formerly of Ardmore, Tarbert. Anna Maria died on 13 August in Manchester, surrounded by her family. She was born on 30 October 1936 in Ardmore, Tarbert to Joe and Delia Cregan (née Scanlon) and grew up in Ardmore with her brother Jeremiah. She attended Reenturk National School and St Ita’s College, Tarbert. In 1965 she emigrated to Manchester where she married Maurice Kearney from Moyvane. She and her husband were to spend the next 55 years living in Manchester and rearing a family of three sons and two daughters. Her brother Jeremiah had sold the family holding in Ardmore, married Margaret Walsh from Tarmons West and moved to Doon Rathavannig near Ballybunion where he continued farming. Anna Maria and her family were to visit there on holidays. On Friday 10 September her remains were removed from St Mary’s Funeral Home in Tarbert to St Mary’s Church, Tarbert. Her Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr Martin Hegarty, Listowel. In a eulogy, a family member described her as a great home-maker who always stressed the importance of family and spoke of her baking skills, cooking, love of music and her sense of humour. A selection of hymns was sung by her cousin John Dowling of St Mary’s Choir. After the final commendation and farewell her remains were removed to Kilnaughtin Cemetery to be laid to rest among cousins and neighbours, only fields away from where she was born and grew up. Anna Maria was predeceased by her brother Jeremiah and daughter-in-law Heather. Sympathy of the community is extended to her husband Maurice, sons Joseph, Colin and Mark, daughters Elaine and Joyce, the extended Kearney, Cregan and Scanlon families. Suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam uasal dílis. Sympathy of the community also to the Andrews and Curley families on the recent sudden death of Mary Andrews (née Curley) of Clonalvy, Meath and Garristown Dublin. Mary grew up in Tarbert and with her brother and sisters would have attended Tarbert Comprehensive School. Her late father Owen Curley moved from Monaghan to Tarbert in the early 1970’s as operations supervisor at the ESB Generating Station. He and his wife Cáit from Dingle lived at Doonard Crescent, Tarbert, for some years. Beannacht Dé lena hanam dílis. WEDDING BELLS The wedding took place on Saturday 4 September of Eoghan O’Keeffe, son of Eoin and Bernie O’Keeffe, Tarmons East, Tarbert and Samantha Murphy, daughter of Martin and Eileen Murphy, Ahanaboy, Knocknagoshel. The ceremony was performed by Fr Sean Horgan in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Scartaglin. The best man was Tom Murphy and groomsmen were Martin Murphy and Padraig Moloney. Bridesmaids were Ann Marie Farmer, Katie O’Keeffe and Holly O’Byrne. Pageboy was Dylan Murphy and Flowergirl was Emily O’Keeffe. The reception was held in the Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee and the happy couple will reside in Moyvane, Guímis gach rath ar an mbeirt a phós agus go neiri go geal leo as seo amach. SPORTING SUCCESS Well done to Muirne Wall, Tarbert who starred in Munster’s first Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Rugby title in four years when they defeated Leinster 19 - 7 at Energia Park, Dublin on Saturday 11 September. Muirne played a game that Peter Stringer would have been proud of and it was nice to see her role acknowledged by the local GAA club and the flying of so many Munster flags in the parish. It was also a good weekend for local Tyrone native Roddy Gormley of Tieraclea Park as Tyrone deservedly won their 4th All Ireland Football Final. Unfortunately for Mayo and local supporter Rosaleen Costello the quest for Sam Maguire goes on ach mar a deireann an seanfhocal ‘- beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach’ - there will be another day.

Pride of place last week went to Tarbert U15s who produced another great performance beating neighbours Moyvane to capture the North Kerry League Division 1 title on Wednesday 8th September in Ballylongford. This was a performance based on a never say die attitude and a determination not to be beaten on the night. This title sits nicely beside the County League Division 4 title that this fantastic bunch of players won earlier in the summer. The hope is that on October 22nd, the majority of all public health restrictions will be lifted, but this will be subject to the prevailing public health advice. It is therefore important that all of the current protective measures continue to be observed so as to ensure that our churches remain safe places for people to visit and attend. The incidence rate of Covid-19 within the Diocese remains a cause for concern and for that reason we recommend the following in relation to Baptisms, First Holy Communions & Confirmations: - • Baptisms – Continue to keep numbers attending Baptisms limited to immediate family members, (including Godparents and Grandparents). • First Communion & Confirmation – Limit the numbers attending to immediate family only, namely, parents and siblings of the child and in the case of Confirmations, the sponsor of the child ENTERTAINMENT Music with Fiddlers Green in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn on Saturday 18th September at 8.30p.m to 10.30p.m

LISTOWEL CELTIC

Draw 13/09/21 - Numbers Drawn 3-14-15-19 Jackpot not won - Lucky Dip Winners €20 David Fitzmaurice, Cahirdown €20 Betty Carmody, Ballylongford €20 Brenda Pierce (On Line) €20 John Maher c/o Printing Works €20 Maudie Fitzmaurice, Cahirdown Next Draw 27/09/21 - Jackpot €2,450 Result - Under 12 Plate Final: Listowel Celtic (Team 3) 1 2 St Brendans Park C What a game of soccer we were treated to last Friday evening by two very evenly matched teams in what was an end to end battle . With both defences under pressure from the start, Listowel started the better with Shane Costello and Thomas Keane working well together down the right and Thomas Lynch working hard upfront. Goal chances were scarce at either end until the 20th minute when Michael Carmody broke down a Park attack and got the ball to Sean Mulvihill on the left wing who was still 40 yards from Park goal but ran at their defence cutting in to the edge of the box, went past a few defenders and from 18 yards left fly into the top right hand corner, a stunning solo effort. Celtic were still working hard all over the pitch closing down the Park players as soon as they got the ball but Park were passing the ball around well and a slight error in our defence was snatched upon by the Park attack and ball was given to the free man on the left of the Listowel goal who finished well to make it 1-1. Straight from the restart Listowel pressed forward again with Ryan McDonnell and Michael O’ Sullivan doing well in midfield and Thomas Keane now upfront working hard and just before the break Celtic had the ball in the park net again only to be controversially ruled out for offside. Half time 1-1 and all to play for. Second half Park tipped off and started to get more and more into the game and we found ourselves having to work harder and with Cian Moloney stopping several of Park attacks and Oisin Stack in goals impressing, keeping the score at one all. Cian Ryan came on a few minutes into the second half and played in front of the back 3 where he seemed to calm the situation down a bit, he got a few passes going in midfield and we started to get back to grips with the game and created a few chances through Sean Mulvihill and Shane Costello. Kyle McNicholas then came on, on the left hand side where he done well stopping a few Park attacks and setting up a few attacks. Listowel seemed to have weathered the early storm from the Park but then with ten minutes to go Park got their second. We pushed and pushed to get an equaliser but unfortunately it wasn’t to come and the game finished with a 2-1 victory to Park FC. Congratulations to St Brendans Park on what was an exciting and sporting game. A huge effort was put in by every Celtic player on the night the coaches couldn’t have asked for anymore from the team. We would like to thank the Big support that cheered on the team on the evening. It was great to see Parents and players from the other Under 12 Teams there to shout on their fellow teammates. This brought an end to the Under 12 adventure for these Boys with the Under 13 season to start up soon. We would like to thank all the Boys who represented Listowel Celtic this year and to all the Parents for bringing the Boys to training and matches all over Kerry. Team: Oisin Stack, Liam Flaherty, Cian Moloney, Michael Carmody, Shane Costello, Tadgh Dalton, Thomas Keane, Sean Mulvihill (Captain),Thomas Lynch Subs: Cian Ryan, Kyle McNicholas, Ryan McDonnell, Michael O’ Sullivan Man Of The Match: Shane Costello A Big well done to Seamie, Neilo, Seanie, The Boys, All Parents/Guardians and to all who supported us all season, the future is bright.

FINUGE GAA

Best of luck to the players and management in Rd 3.

The senior team got their Junior Premier championship off to a start on Sunday against Gneevegullia. The game was played in Cordai but unfortunately did not go the way of our boys. Considering the opposition had played out a classic encounter a week earlier in the delayed 2020 Premier final, Finuge would have been viewed as outsiders for this fixture. While the first half certainly went along those lines with the score standing at 0-01 to 1-09 to the East Kerry men, the Finuge lads upped their game in the second half with the final score Finuge 0-10 to Gneevegullia 1-16. In round two, currently due to be played on Saturday at 5:30pm, Finuge will play Listry who won their first-round game. The starting 15 were Killian Fitzgerald, Tom Foley, Jeremy McKenna, Declan McCarthy, Liam O’Brien, Pat Corridan, Nelius MacKessey, Conor O’Keeffe, Jamie Galvin, Ciarán Commane, Shane Conway, Evan McCarthy, Darragh MacKessey, Maurice Corridan, Jason Wallace. The U7s were busy with games against Moyvane, played in Finuge on Friday evening. Great progress is being made by all the boys and girls - the coaches are very impressed! Well done to everybody involved. Our U9s will play Brosna this week in the next round of their Go Games league. Our U11s had a busy week with two fixtures. Brosna were first up and both clubs fielded two teams. This allowed for the maximum playing time for every child which is always the best outcome. Two very lively and entertaining games were had. Tarbert provided the opposition on the second night and a great game of football was had. Both teams threw everything at it in a very competitive game with some really good scores and passages of play from both teams. Next up is Knocknagoshel this week. The U13s have had a well-earned rest for two weeks before they commence the Tommy Madden tournament on Sunday against our neighbours Listowel Emmets. Congratulations to all the Tyrone exiles living in the parish who will be celebrating for some time to come after Saturdays All-Ireland win! For our Mayo friends it’s a case of What’s Another Year... It is great to see people being able to attend the Listowel races again, even in a limited capacity, which get under way this weekend. Always a big week in the year for the locality. Best wishes to the racecourse committee - we hope the week goes well for all involved.

County Junior Football Championship 2021 Result: Tarbert 0-11, Duagh 1-08. Our seniors remain unbeaten in the County Junior Championship as the recorded a draw against Duagh played in Moyvane on Sunday 12th September. Duagh led at half time by 1-07 to 0-04 but Tarbert rallied well in the second half to salvage a draw. Tarbert could have won this one but for some missed opportunities, particularly in the second half. However, a positive result against Knocknagoshel in Round 3 will see Tarbert qualify for the knock out stages of the competition for the second year running. Well done to players and management.

This was a performance based on a never say die attitude and a determination not to be beaten on the night. This title sits nicely beside the County League Division 4 title that this fantastic bunch of players won earlier in the summer. ASDEE GAA

Junior Club Championship Asdee 0-8 Firies 2-19, despite being under strength, battled hard but the superior team and squad showed as the game went on. The game started with both sides matching each other score for score. Some lovely passing moves saw Darragh Keane and Owen Tydings raising the white flag for the home side, with both scoring the eight points between them. Firies showed their quality on the break and struck for a number of well taken scores & two killer goals before half time. As the second half wore on, the strength in depth told on the scoreboard, with Firies notching a number of points in the final quarter. Say this prayer three times for three days and your favour will be granted. Never been known to fail. Must promise publication of prayer. M.M.

It’s astonishing that the heart which is always associated with love is also the vessel of hatred, anger and bitterness in humans. And as Matthew 15:11 clearly tells us “..the food you put into your mouth doesn’t make you unclean. It’s what comes out of the mouth(from the heart)that makes a person unclean.” So what hope have we of keeping our heart and mind in a state that pleases the One, True and Living God,the One Who allowed His Beloved Son,Jesus to die on our behalf and who deserves our endless

thanks and praise? Well, left to our own devices we have absolutely No Hope But we can use all the help that God has made freely available to us. He tells us in Proverbs 4 verse 20 “ My child, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to My words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart ; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.” That’s very clear. He also promises that if we trust Him ”..I will give you a new heart and a new Spirit l will put within you. And l will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26 In Proverbs 3:5 He urges us “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” The bible, the Word of God, is full of God’s love for us and full of His help and direction in how we can stay close to Him. He’s just waiting for us to trust Him. We have nothing to lose but oh! what we have to gain! If you require any further information you can call LCF at 087 9529907. Yours sincerely, Bridie (Dillon)Hartney
