LET YOUR IMAGINATION RUN FREE FOR THE CREDIT UNION ART COMPETITION
The Credit Union Art Competition 2021 has landed! This year’s theme “Imagine”, encourages people to explore their thoughts, hopes and dreams, and portray them on paper or canvass. To quote Albert Einstein, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” Imagination is a powerful tool which helps people escape from reality. Imagination can also be the start of a brilliant idea which could change the world. The annual competition is part of the Irish League of Credit Unions’ (ILCU) commitment to supporting the artistic development of both young and old in communities throughout Ireland. As we are embracing a greener and sustainable world, this year we are aiming to reduce the amount of paper used. For this reason, all schools will receive their competition notifications and entry forms via email. Entry forms are also available on www.listowelcu.ie or from Listowel Credit Union Offices in Listowel and Ballybunion. The closing date to submit finished entries to is Friday October 22nd. Winners at local level will go on to a regional level, and regional winners will progress to the national awards ceremony in 2022.

CAROLINE’S DÓTERRA ESSENTIAL OILS CAROLINE’S POD OF POSITIVITY Welcome to our weekly column and our Pod of Positivity. It is here you will find little tips and tools that help us to maintain a life of Health, Wellness, Love, and Gratitude as well as all the information on dóTerra’s powerful Essential Oils. This week we look at dóTerra’s Clary Sage as we enter the Autumn Equinox and the emotional benefits it can have on our body and minds as well as the physical benefits it brings to us. This beautiful oil assists us in changing our perceptions and allows us to remain open to the possibility of new ideas, new projects, and new perspectives. It helps us in opening creative channels and clearing creative blocks while eliminating distractions from the mind. Clary Sage is also a very spiritual oil and one of the finest oils for the brow chakra as it dispels darkness and encourages individuals to see their limiting beliefs. Clary Sage dates to the Middle Ages and it includes relaxing and soothing properties that can help with the rejuvenation and calming of the skin. It is also a beautiful body balancing essential oil. When Clary Sage is diffused in any one room of your home, office, school, or work place it adds to a relaxing environment. DóTerra’s Clary Sage can also be taken internally and can be a great natural aid to promote a restful night’s sleep. Many people like to mix it with cooled boiled water and spray it onto the bed linen & curtains before they go to sleep. During a menstrual cycle, Clary Sage can be applied and massaged to the abdomen area for a soothing relief and is very popular amongst teenagers. It is very relaxing when added to a warm bath on its own or with dóTerra’s Roman Chamomile and provides a stress-relieving soak.
KELLIHERS TRALEE APPOINTED SOLE DEALER FOR TOYOTA IN KERRY
There’s news on the motoring front with the announcement that Kellihers, the long established Motor Retailer in Tralee, have been appointed sole Dealer for Toyota in Kerry. The franchise was also held by Bowlers Garage in Killarney but they have decided to concentrate on retailing used cars going forward leaving Kellihers to cater for both the sales and aftersales activities of the Toyota carpark in the county. Their 3 acre site in Tralee allows them ample scope to carry the full range of new Toyota passenger car and commercial vehicles as well as a large selection of used vehicles of all brands. Alongside the sales operation, the aftersales services range from servicing and repairs to running an award winning bodyshop, which caters for the slightest scratch to the most complicated and technical of body repairs. Commenting on the development, Kellihers MD Tim Kelliher says “we have always had the height of respect for Bowlers garage and we wish Brian and his team well going forward, at the same time it is a great honour for me to represent Toyota in the county and I am extremely excited to reach out and to offer a Céad Míle Fáilte to all motorists across the whole of the county and beyond. I invite you all to Kellihers to discover the new age benefits of hybrid technology, the never say die durability of our commercial range and the quality and painstaking preparation of our used vehicles. Added to that we carry out an extensive range of aftersales and maintenance services to both Toyotas as well as across all brands. We employ close to 30 fantastic lads and ladies from the 4 corners of the county and exceptional customer service is at the forefront of what we do day in day out here in Tralee”.
Pictured is Tim Kelliher of Kelliher’s Garage Tralee
Clary Sage can also be added to your shampoo and hair conditioner to promote healthy hair and scalp and works great with dóTerra’s Rosemary and Lavender essential oils. The Clary Sage plant can grow up to six feet in height and is steam distilled from the flower part of the plant. DóTerra’s Clary Sage can be purchased from Caroline’s Pod of Positivity, and you can reach me on the number below to place your orders. One to one consultations and small group appointments are also available. As an advocate for dóTerra’s essential oils I know how the oils can support the Body, the Mind, and the Mood, and over the last year and a half, I’m delighted and so grateful to have been able to help so many people in starting their oily journey with DóTerra. The oils are a natural solution to care for our needs and our Family’s health needs and they can support us in many of the following that we experience from time to time, such as: Anxiety Issues, Digestive Support, Sleep Assist, Muscle Care, Stress Buster, Depression. These oils can be used in three different ways: Topically – applying them on to our skin with or without a carrier oil. Aromatically – by placing a two to three drops into a cold-water diffuser and diffusing these oils in our homes, classrooms, offices, salons or places of work and business. And the third way, internally – by adding them to your favourite food, waters, or drinks, or simply by taking one drop under the tongue daily. The oils are a natural solution to care for our needs and our Family’s health needs and they can support us in many of the following that we experience from time to time, such as: Anxiety Issues, Digestive Support, Sleep Assist, Muscle Care, Stress Buster, Depression, Grief, Energy Boost, Skin Support, Immunity Boost, Allergy Assist and so much more. For extra positivity and well-being, check out our Facebook page where we have information and videos on all dóTerra’s essential oils. I look forward to returning to our weekly Lives, along with Master Brody’s Lives on Monday nights. My addition of ‘Caroline’s Fashion Fix’ every Friday night @9pm on Facebook is a must for all ladies to join, where I’ll be bringing you the latest Autumn Winter collection from the French label Captain Tortue in our private group page. SAN RITA WELLNESS
Welcome to San Rita Wellness weekly column…
Now that the Listowel Races are over for many of us it is a time settle in to winter with the warm cosy fires. It is also a time of the year where we make plans and look forward to the months ahead with Halloween and Christmas to look forward to. These are ideal opportunities for us all to plan ahead for upcoming events where we want to look and feel great. It’s not all about battening down the hatches and going into total hibernation. Look at your calendar and plan for certain dates coming up that will help to motivate you and shorten the winter. This week we are going to focus on how important it is for you and your well being to keep yourself accountable to your commitment to feel and look better . There are many areas where accountability plays a big part in your weight loss and wellness journey. So, let’s break them down and ask yourself are you actually ticking all the boxes. Very often we can blame others for “making” us eat or drink something we actually hadn’t planned on having which can very often be the start of the slippery slope that we are all familiar with..Blaming others for our actions is an easy way of letting ourselves “ off the hook “for our own accountability. Your choices are your decisions. Always remember when you point the finger at someone the rest of your fingers are pointing back at YOU. Accountability is all about keeping records. Calories It is a proven fact when you keep an account of what you eat and drink you are more aware and mindful of your calorie intake. By keeping a track of your calories you are less likely to “forget” the little things that can all add up in the end. Keeping track in a notebook or journal can show you what kind of foods you eat, when you eat and it can also identify your trigger times. There are also some great free apps you can download on your phone to keep track of your daily calorie intake.

OLD IRELAND IN COLOUR 2 By John Breslin
In Old Ireland in Colour 2, the much-anticipated sequel to their beloved bestseller, John Breslin and Sarah-Anne Buckley have dug even deeper into Ireland’s historical archives to uncover captivating photographic gems to bring to life using a unique blend of cuttingedge technology, historical research and expert colourisation. Old Ireland in Colour 2 celebrates more of the rich history of Ireland and the Irish from all walks of life and from all four provinces, as well as the Irish abroad, throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Goals Setting yourself mini goals can help you progress on your weight loss and wellness journey. When setting yourself a mini goal keep it “ Specific” “ Relevant “ and “ Time Bound “. Keeping a weekly record of your mini goals can help your motivation and commitment to stick with it and know that it will be worth it. Remember the saying “ Slow progress is better than No progress “
From the chaos of the Civil War to the simple beauty of the islands, from the iconic to the domestic, there is something new and inspiring to be gleaned from every single page.
Weight Being accountable to somebody else with your weight other than yourself is very important as we do tend to leave ourselves off the hook quite easily at times. By doing this you are making a commitment not alone to yourself but to somebody else also. This is why the weekly check in with San Rita Wellness is so beneficial for our members. Being accountable to someone else gives you support also. You can lose weight for yourself but it doesn’t always have to be by yourself.

BEREAVEMENT A very sad weekend again in which a very dark cloud has been shed over the Community with the very sad news filtering through from New York of the very sad passing of a young Ballylongford native Denis Collins R.I.P. late of Well Street who died on Friday last. At just 55 years of age, it is hard to comprehend how this man was taken from our midsts at such a young age. Born in 1966 to the proud parents of Mary and Jimmy who had a grocery shop in Well Street. Denis was the third born of a family of four and was a proud and only son in the family. Born, reared and educated in the village, Denis took up his second level education in Tarbert Comprehensive School after finishing at Ballylongford Primary School. Denis decided to take to America in search of a better life and a better standard of living. He returned after a number of years, met, and fell in love with a Listowel girl Nuala Guiney
18
who became husband and wife before they both decided to take to America again. There he began working in construction with a scaffolding firm and soon became very well known and highly popular amongst the Construction workers. After a number of years they returned home and ran a popular Public House in Listowel, afterwards Denis spent some years working with Hartel, a contracting firm at Alcan in Aughnish before they returned to the States again in the early part of the second millennium where he died on Friday last. To his wife Nuala, son Denis jnr, sisters Marie, Ann and Bridie extended family and friends we offer our heartfelt condolences at this very sad time. May he Rest In Peace. Sympathy is also extended to the Catherine Ahern (Née Enright) and family of Lislaughtin and Eddie Mangan and family of Old School Road on the passing of Theresa Enright who died recently in the U.K. Theresa’s ashes were interred in the family plot in Lislaughtin recently. May She Rest in Peace. BLACKSMITHING FAIR Well done to all involved in the inaugural Blacksmith Fair which was held on Saturday and Sunday last. It was very nice to see the many Farrier’s applying their trade skills which is a rare trade nowadays in Ireland. However, with over 200,000 Horses in Ireland and with just over 200 full time Farriers registered there is more than enough to keep them employed. However, the weather slightly hampered some of the sideshows on Sunday, but overall it was a very successful event which will hopefully grow in years to come. Well done again to all concerned. U13: Well done to our U13 footballers who have reached the final of the Tommy Madden Trophy after defeating Tarbert in Asdee on Sunday morning. It was a tough first quarter for the young players as the weather conditions were terrible and Tarbert started stronger, and it looked like it was going to be an uphill battle for the boys from Ballyduff. However, two goals in quick succession seemed to give momentum to the Ballyduff challenge and they drove on from there to a comfortable win of 2 - 8 to 0 - 5. The final takes place next Sunday 3rd October in Coolard so come out and support this fabulous group of players. BALLYDUFF GAA NEWS Senior Football: Our Senior played out an exciting draw in the final round of the Premier Junior Championship against Listowel Emmets at Ballyduff on Sunday last. A goal by wing back Kyle O’Connor deep into injury time gave us a deserved draw. We found ourselves down six points to three at halftime but points from frees from Goalkeeper Kevin O’Connor kept us in touch. Down by three points a goal from Mikey Boyle brought us level but almost immediately we gave away a penalty which was converted. Showing great heart, we came back, and Kyle’s goal earned us a share of the spoils. TARBERT FIRST COMMUNION Comhghairdeas agus beannacht Dé on the 12 boys and girls attending Tarbert National School who made their First Holy Communion in St Mary’s Church, Tarbert on Saturday 18 September. I am sure that for Aisling, Ava, Chloe, Henry, Holly, Jake, Jerome, Leah, Mia, Rory, Summer and Victoria it was a day they will remember for the rest of their lives. Thanks to the parents, teachers and clergy who prepared them for the reception of the Sacrament. The Church and grounds looked well for the occasion with grass cut, pathways power washed and walls painted. Beir bua agus beannacht le gach éinne. SHANNON LNG At a meeting of Tarbert Development Association held on Monday 20 September in the Bridewell, the members agreed by majority vote to support the planning application for the Shannon Technology and Energy Park backed by the U.S. firm New Fortress Energy which is seeking planning permission to build a €650 million power and liquified natural gas terminal in the estuary. NFE states that the project would create some 270 construction jobs over a 3 year period and 70 permanent jobs when complete. Under the Climate Action Plan with the phasing out of peat, oil and coal generation, plants like this would be the remaining source of power generation when wind energy declines. MEDAL WINNER Congratulations and well done to Brendan O’Leary, Tarmons who represented Kerry and came 4th in the Under 16 - 200 metres running at the National Community Games Finals held in Carlow at the week end. Brendan won the Pewter Medal to add to his growing collection.

Draw 27/09/21 - Numbers Drawn 11-18-25-31 Jackpot not won - Lucky Dip Winners €20 Jack Adam Buckley, Skeneheerin €20 Betty Heaphy, Dirha East €20 Liam Hayes, Finuge €20 Noel Beasley, Bedford €20 Trish O’Connor, Ballyduff Next Draw 04/10/21 - Jackpot €2,500 Under 15 Premier result: LB Rovers 0-3 Listowel Celtic The first game of the new season for the U15 A team was a North Kerry Derby in LB Rovers’ new pitch next to the Irish College in Ballybunnion on Thursday night 23rd September The game started out cagey enough with few chances in the early going. The Listowel players began to find their feet in the second quarter, however. They began to assert themselves in terms of territory and possession, creating a couple of opportunities along the way. Cian Horgan, who was dangerous all evening, finally made the breakthrough that the play deserved with a powerful shot into the corner on 22 minutes. The LB keeper continued to find some excellent saves leading up to half time, frustrating Listowel who were starting to show some form and carve out some really good chances. The game was still very much in the balance as halftime approached, only for Sean Spink to burst the home side’s bubble just before time was up with a headed goal after a rebound caused by Kiegan Moloney’s clever long-range shot. The 2-0 lead felt a lot better going into the second half, but the job was far from done. LB managed some good chances early in the half and the LB goalie continued to frustrate the Listowel forwards on the other end. Eventually, the game was put to bed when Fionn Morrissey alertly pounced on another rebound caused by a good outside effort. The Listowel players pushed for more, but LB battled to keep the game close and it finished 3-0. Listowel can be proud of their performance in this one. Cian Horgan, John Carmody and Tristan Barry were all excellent in their work rate and pace on the wings. Dylan Costello and Kiegan Moloney controlled the middle of the field all evening. The back line was solid, as evidenced by the clean sheet, with Jake Segal controlling the ball well in goals. Georgie O’Donnell and Mark McElligott were solid as rocks in the corners, stopping the supply into the danger areas while also getting forward to support the attack at times. This was a terrific team performance in the absence of some top players who are still due to return. The new season will have challenges. Congratulations to Savannah McCarthy who earned her first senior International Cap in five years while playing her part in The Republic Of Ireland’s 3-2 victory over Austrailia in Tallaght Stadium last week. Savannah impressed and played the full 90 minutes. Congrats from all at Listowel Celtic. We would like to say a Massive Thanks to all who contributed to our bucket collection on the Wednesday of The Listowel Races. It was great to be back out after missing out last year, raising much needed funds for the day to day running of The Club. Thanks to all who gave up their time on to assist with the collection. The Academy returned last Sunday morning. It was fantastic to see such a large turnout. We would like to welcome back all Kids that have been previously with us and would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new members. To all our coaches, especially those who are new to our set up, we say a Big thank you. Without you, we simply could not function. We wish you all the very best for the new season. To our Academy Administrator Mark Loughnane who makes this all happen, we say Thank You ! Also to Sheila and Karen who have lended their support, to which we really appreciate. As always new members are more than welcome. Registration can be done online at clubforce.com
BEALE GAA
Our seniors are through to the quarter final of County Junior Club Championship, following a comprehensive win over Sneem/Derrynane on Sunday. We always had the edge in this encounter, kicking 6 points without reply and were well in control at the first water break, leading by 0-13 to 1-2. We continued to dominate and were thirteen points to the good going into the final quarter. Our opponents tried to fight back but proved too difficult a challenge. The game ended, Beale 1-20, Sneem/Derrynane 1-6. We finished second in our group and now travel to Castlegregory on Sunday for the quarter final. Throw in at 2.30. Our 2020 North Kerry Senior Championship semi-final with Desmonds is provisionally booked for Sunday, October 10th at 2 o’clock. Venue to be confirmed. This week’s Beale Lotto numbers drawn were 7, 18, 26 and 30. There was no jackpot winner and two Match-3 winner. Carolyn O’Connell and Colm Kissane each receive €50. Next week’s jackpot is €2,150. Thanks to everyone who supports our lotto. Details are posted and promoted locally and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram every week. Beale Lotto tickets on sale in Joyce’s Newsagents or play online. Download the Clubforce App or log onto https://clubforce.com/clubs/beale-gaa-kerry/. We hope to be back selling tickets in more venues soon. Desmonds B are our opponents in the preliminary round of the North Kerry Intermediate Cup on Sunday, October 24th, in Duagh. It is planned to hold the draw for the Senior Championship in McMunn’s, Ballybunion, in the coming weeks. North Kerry minors came unstuck against Mid Kerry in Group A of the County Championship on Saturday. Robert Stack played mid-field and Joe Finch came on as a substitute. Mid Kerry finished stronger in a well contested game, 1-11 to 1-9. North Kerry are currently second place on the table. Laune Rangers is their next challenge. A win here could mean a place in the qualifiers, depending on results from other games. An interesting piece of history. The North Kerry minor team won the County title in 1948/49. From that team, Mick Brosnan, Moyvane, went on to captain the Kerry minors to glory in 1950. Seân Walsh, Ballybunion, and Colm Kennelly, Ballylongford, were also part of the All-Ireland success. Shannon Rangers face Templenoe in the opening round of the Senior Footbsll Championship. The game is scheduled for the last weekend in October.

DUAGH/LYRE COMM. GAMES
National Finals: Last Saturday the early morning or night before adventures had begun to take the roads to Carlow to get to National Community Games finals. It was a welcomed return to some form of normality for participants, parents and volunteers to attend the National Community games athletics and cycling on grass finals. Duagh/Lyre had four participants representing Kerry and taking part in various events over the course of the day in a beautiful Autumn sunshine. Cycling on grass: Our first participant to start was Kate Sheridan out at 10am in the u12 cycling on grass. Kate had the hard work and training put in at Duagh Gaa under the watchful eye of coach Andy Keane, this pairing had a previous and successful outing in 2019 in UL. Kate got off to an absolutely brilliant start leading for the first three laps, however was overtaken by the Carlow cyclist. This event is not for the faint hearted and it takes determination and grit to get around. You have to be alert from the off and get yourself in to a good position. The event is made up of a number of hotspots going around the laps and at the end of the event Kate had secured 48 pts to the Carlow cyclists 52 points. Kate was crowned the National silver medallist and was beaming with pride. Long Jump: Next up was the turn of Ronan Sheridan in the U14 long jump. Ronan had been preparing in the run up to the competition and was ready for action. Anyone who knows this lad knows that he always has a spring in his step and is constantly on the move. Ronan got his measurements ready for his three jumps and unfortunately mis judged the first run and fouled the board. A slight adjustment to his mark saw a fab second jump that ended up being his best jump. Ronan got into the top eight for another three jumps and at the end Ronan had jumped his way in National gold. A fantastic achievement Ronan. U14 100m: Our third participant in action was Saoirse Dillon, no stranger to this event and no stranger to National finals with this year being her sixth outing. Saoirse had qualified as the County silver medal winner then progressing to Munster winning gold. It was a tough race from the beginning with serious speed and talent from all participants. Saoirse dug deep and gave it her all as she always does, crossing the line in second to secure a silver National medal. This adds to Saoirse’s extensive collections of three gold and silver, now a five time National medal winner. U16 High Jump: Last one of our participants who had watched all those before him but took the whole experience in his usual cool and casual way wasn’t going to go home empty handed. Luke coming through as the County winner had put in some practice sessions to brush up on his style and technique and was ready to take it all in his stride. Luke was jumping superbly and getting over the heights with ease. His last jump was a crucial medal placing one to remain in third but unfortunately a slight flick of his heel the bar came off, otherwise a brilliant clearance, and Luke finished fourth with a pewter medal. A brilliant result for Luke in a new event for him and he smile with pride after. This event closed off the day for Duagh/Lyre and a superb result for all participants. The Sheridan trio returning home with gold, silver and pewter some achievement for one family on the same day, supported by parents Norma and Ferghal. Saoirse supported on the day by Yvonne and Thomas. We as an area are so proud of all our participants the support and encouragement given by everyone in the lead up to the competition, the hours of training and practice put in and the miles clocked up on the road. This event again is not possible without volunteers and special thanks goes to our volunteers on the day Neilus Collins, Andy Keane and John Bunyan. Thanks to Norma for all the beautiful photos which were posted on Facebook. Here’s to a close of events for Duagh/ Lyre for 2021 and a very successful one it was with a return to semi normal, beautiful memories and more friendships made. Well done everyone.

FINUGE GAA
Congratulations to Steve Reidy and Simon Russell on their achievements over the weekend at the All Ireland Community Games finals held in Carlow. Steve claimed 4th place in the U12 100m final while Simon won a bronze medal in the U10 60m hurdles. Well done lads!! Our U13s put in huge performance against Duagh on Sunday morning to win their semi-final of the Tommy Madden cup. They built up an early lead which they held until the second water break. Duagh came storming back into it as you would expect from a good team and made for a tight finish. The Finuge boys held on to win by two points - final score Finuge 4-07 to Duagh 4-05. They now play Ballyduff in the final on Sunday October 10th at 11:30 in Coolard. The senior team faced Ballymac in their final round three, bottom of the table clash on Saturday evening at home. The opening exchanges were tight and the game was scoreless until 8 minutes in when Ballymac opened with a point. From there on they would take a grip the Finuge lads could not shake. A goal before the first water break followed by a number of points in quick succession had Ballymac leading at half time by 1-07 to no score. Finuge opened the scoring in the second half with a point but Ballymac would not relent. A late goal by Jason Wallace left the final score Finuge 1-03 to Ballymac’s 1-12. Next up is a Junior Premier Relegation semi-final against Ballyduff to be played Saturday October 9th at 4pm in Coolard. On the other side are Waterville and St Pats Blennerville. Our U11s played Bally/Asdee, played in Asdee. Plenty of action was had with some nice passages of play. Next up is Beale in the last of the phase two Go Games. The U9s played Brosna in a game at home in Finuge. Both clubs fielded two teams with plenty of action for everyone. Great to see skills developing with each outing - well done to all. Well done to the Finuge lads involved with the North Kerry Minor Championship team. After an emphatic opening day victory against South Kerry, they were unlucky to lose out to Mid Kerry in a close game on Saturday. Final score North Kerry 1-09 to Mid Kerry 1-11. Next up in Group A will be Laune Rangers.

NORTH KERRY GAA
KEANES SUPERVALU COUNTY MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RD. 2 Mid Kerry 1-11 -v- North Kerry 1-9 by Jack Hennessy After their heroics in round 1 our minor footballers were brought back down to earth with a bang on Saturday (September 25th) as the much more determined Mid Kerry side finished just about deserving winners in a very enjoyable and well contested game at picturesque Beaufort. The men from the North really can only blame themselves; giving away possession at vital times and also playing themselves into trouble and certainly can thank their keeper Kieran Mackessy who made at least 3 outstanding save when goals looked on. The game opened on a bright note for North Kerry with midfielder Robert Stack lofting over a superb long range point, Cormac Dillon followed with 2 from frees before Conor Spillane opened the home sides account with a neat point after 8mts. The visitors were enjoying good possession up to now but in a break-a-way Fergal Griffin kept his side in touch splitting the uprights. Cormac Dillon his sides top scorer with 5pts added another and at the first water break North Kerry were in control and ahead by 2pts.Ben Downey and Shane Evans levelled up the tie by the 21st minute. Points were exchanged by Cormac Dillon and Mikie Moriarty before a late burst from the home side with Fergal Griffin and Conor Spillane giving their side a 2pt lead at the break. Mid Kerry 0-7 North Kerry 0-5. On resumption North Kerry brought full back Eddie Healy to midfield and here he continued his great form. Rory O Mahony slotted over and in the 12th minute Eddie Healy from the right hand side of the Mid Kerry goal and with a left legged screamer that ended up in the far corner. Cormac Dillon, Rory O Mahony for North Kerry with Jack Teehan quickly replying leaving it 1-9 to 0-9 as we approached the 24th minute with North Kerry just about holding on and in trouble in many possessions with the stronger and more physical home side getting to grips with the situation and when the home side got a scrambled goal with Conor Spillane claiming it; it really knocked the stuffing out of the visitors. As time ticked away and the sides all square and into injury time and despite plenty North Kerry pressure; Sean Evans and Jason O Connor kicked over the match winning scores. Plenty stars on both sides and for Mid Kerry; Liam Evans at full back covered everybody blade of grass on the field; Mikie Moriarty and Fionan Griffin controlled midfield for long periods while in attack Conor Spillane and Shane Evans impressed. For the visitors their stand out player was Eddie Healy at number 3, the half back line of Rory O Mahony, Adam Segal and Darragh Carey did well, Darragh Conway had plenty moments to remember at midfield while in an attack that never got into their rythem only Cormac Dillon and Jerh Brosnan made an impact

As a bible believing Christian I need never look further than the Handbook left to us by the One, True and Living God. There we find the answers to many of the searing issues that plague our planet, including this topic of planet earth. Yes, we are custodians of our earth. In the first Chapter of the book of Genesis we read “Then God said ‘let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds ..........and God blessed them and said to them...be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heaven and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
So yes, we have a divine mandate to take care of this earth and are commissioned to use it and not abuse it. But as a follower of Jesus l also read in His manual, the bible, that there’s another CODE RED that is getting very little press in today’s world. That is JESUS CHRIST IS GOING TO RETURN TO THIS EARTH. In the book of Revelation 21:1 the apostle John tells us regarding His return “Then l saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first earth had passed away and the sea was no more.” That clearly tells me that my focus needs to be on the return of the Lord Jesus Christ because that event is the answer to all our problems. Not only that but His return will have everlasting consequences for all of us. If you require any further information, you can call LCF at 087 9529907 Yours sincerely, Bridie (Dillon) Hartney
