AWARD-WINNING ITALIAN FOLK-BLUES BAND TO PLAY IN ST. JOHN’S THIS SATURDAY
A PERFECT MATCH AS THE CREDIT UNIONS OF KERRY & WEST LIMERICK LEND THEIR SUPPORT TO THE KERRY SENIOR LADIES
The Credit Unions of Kerry and West Limerick are delighted to lend their support to the Kerry Senior Ladies ahead of the All- Ireland Senior Championship Final on July 21st in Croke Park. Kerry LGFA Chairperson Selina Looney said: “We are hugely excited to be in an All-Ireland Final, and we would like to thank the Credit Unions for coming forward to support our management and team. These are challenging times for businesses, but our sponsors have shown incredible faith in the LGFA by agreeing to come on board to support us – and I wish to thank them most sincerely for that. We are asking for all of Kerry to come out to support this amazing team. ” Both The LGFA and the Credit Union network are very much volunteer-driven organisations with, a shared ethos and values. Both embedded within the local community across Kerry and West Limerick.
The Italian folk-blues outfit Dago Red are making a dream come true by embarking on their Little Big Tour of Ireland 2022 and look forward to meeting you along the way. The award-winning Italian folk-blues band will play in St. John’s Theatre this Saturday July 30th. The band began life as a blues busking trio 22 years ago, borrowing their name from the title of a collection of short stories by the AmericanItalian writer John Fante. The current band line-up features Guiseppe Mascitelli on vocals and guitar; Nicola Palanza on guitar; Paola Ceroli, percussion and shared vocals; Angelo Scogno, keys and Indian harmonium; and Nicola di Camillo on bass, amazingly talented musicians in their own right who somehow combine magically to produce the distinctive soul-stirring sound that is Dago Red.
Speaking on behalf of Listowel Credit Union, Ashley FitzGerald commented: “Local Credit Unions and the Kerry LGFA have a common purpose - to enhance the lives of members and communities, and share similar values based on integrity, inclusiveness, fairness and innovation. Due to the support we receive from our members, we are delighted to be in a position to support many local clubs and organisations throughout our communities. We would like to thank the Kerry LGFA, the Management and the Team for allowing us share in their success and we wish them well in the final. “ Your local credit union can be found in Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Dingle, Abbeyfeale, Killorglin, Kenmare, Ballybunion, Rathmore, Cahersiveen, Castleisland, Ballyduff, Milltown and Causeway. For tickets to the All-Ireland see www.ladiesgaelic.ie Photos by: Domnick Walsh - info@dwalshphoto.ie
By their own admission, after 20 years on the road Dago Red have “bucket loads of songs”, most of which are original but with some covers added to the mix, carefully selected to complement their unique, distinctive and catchy sound, shaped by the rich baritone Chris Rea-esque voice, beautifully crafted lyrics, story-telling style and musical influences of band leader and main singer-songwriter, Giuseppe “Peppe” Mascitelli, aka “The Italian Bob Dylan”. These musical influences include Muddy Waters, Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Dylan, John Lee Hooker, Rory Gallagher, JJ Cale, Bap Kennedy, Robert Johnson and Donovan, with whom Peppe was awarded a songwriting scholarship. Once upon a time Peppe also attended University College Cork to research the work of Irish writer Séan Ó’Faoláin, which heralded the start of his love affair with Ireland and Irish literature. The band’s career highlights to date include: representing Italy in the European Blues Challenge in Berlin; sharing stages at festivals across Europe with many musical luminaries such as Ian Siegal, Mick Abrahams (Jethro Tull), Sherman Robertson, Hot Tuna Fan Club, Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane), Doug MacLeod and Peter Hammill (Van der Graaf Generator); a special mention at the annual International Songwriting Competition, judged by musical legends that included Tom Waits and Robert Smith; playing over 1,000 gigs over the past 2 decades; and now their Little Big Tour of Ireland of course! The band has released 4 critically acclaimed albums, their music features in many collections and as soundtracks for several documentaries, and indeed they feature in their own award-winning documentary, Headin’ Home, soon to be released on Amazon Prime. The Cicada album is also a complete art project – every CD cover has a unique hand painted picture of this unusual cricket-like insect, whose life cycle involves lying dormant underground for many years before one day emerging into the sunlight en masse for reasons that nobody really understands, a fitting metaphor for how the album evolved. Dago Red’s Irish tour is another in a series of musical collaborations with Irish tour organiser and singer James Carr, a London Irishman who offered the band a gig at his monthly blues night in Edinburgh when their Scottish festival was cancelled at short notice more than a decade ago. True to form as one of the friendliest bands on the planet, Dago Red immediately invited him to sing with them in Italy that summer, as this Irish Central short story testifies. Believe in Dago Red like James did and grab a ticket for their whistlestop tour of a select series of the best music venues in the country, you won’t regret it!

CAROLINE’S DÓTERRA ESSENTIAL OILS
“ARE THERE ANY TAX INCENTIVES FOR INVESTING IN ENERGY SAVING EQUIPMENT OR SYSTEMS?” FDC GROUP
CAROLINE’S POD OF POSITIVITY
By David Ward, FDC Group Abbeyfeale
Welcome to our weekly column and our Pod of Positivity. It is here you will find little tips, tools and information that help us to maintain a life of health, wellness, love, and gratitude while using DóTerra’s essential oils in our daily routine.
Rising gas and energy prices have become a major cause of concern for most businesses over the last 18 months, people are considering their options such as switching suppliers or looking at investing in energy saving technology.
As a certified DóTerra essential oil specialist I have been delighted to help and support so many people and their families over the last three years on their essential oil journey throughout North Kerry, West Limerick and beyond.
“Are there any tax incentives for investing in energy saving equipment or systems?”, is a question that is often posed to us as accountants.
I know how these oils can support the Body, the Mind, and the Mood and this week I want to share with you one of my Pod’s most popular food supplements for stomach discomfort.
The Accelerated Capital Allowance (ACA) is a tax incentive scheme that promotes investment in energy efficient products and equipment. The following are some of the categories of equipment which may be relevant to farm businesses and that may qualify under the scheme:
Are You Constantly Experiencing Stomach Discomfort? Frequent digestive discomfort can turn the mere act of eating a meal or going about your daily tasks into a total pain. A balanced diet consisting of whole, unprocessed foods should be adequate to meet our food enzyme needs, but that is not always practical. DóTerra’s TerraZyme capsules promote gastrointestinal comfort and food tolerance to help you go about your normal day rather than dealing with stomach issues. TerraZyme delivers a balanced and comprehensive blend of digestive enzymes to support normal digestive processes. Among many helpful ingredients, TerraZyme contains the dóTerra tummy tamer blend of Peppermint, Ginger, and Caraway Seed. This proprietary tummy tamer blend adds to the stomach-soothing benefits of Terrazyme. You can take TerraZyme with you while travelling or trying new restaurants to make sure stomach upset doesn’t slow you down. It is packaged in a handy bottle size so you can keep your TerraZyme in your handbag or briefcase for those times when you may need some immediate relief from stomach upset. It can also be used with any other supplements to allow its benefits reach even further. How to take dóTerras TerraZyme: It is recommended to take one to three TerraZyme capsules with your meals throughout the day. If your meal includes lots of fresh, raw foods, take one capsule. If your meal includes highly processed, cooked foods or food products known to cause specific gastrointestinal discomfort, dóTerra recommends taking two to three capsules with each meal. Some may experience initial changes in digestive schedule, but this should return to normal within a few days.

The ACA scheme is available to sole traders, farmers and companies that are liable to tax in Ireland. Generally, when a business incurs costs on equipment, machinery, or plant, 12.5% of the cost of the item (net of VAT if applicable) is claimed as a capital allowance over an eight-year period. Under the ACA scheme this rate is accelerated, it allows participants to write off 100% of the purchase value of qualifying energy efficient equipment against their profit in the year of purchase. Claiming the relief is similar to that which applies to standard capital allowances. To qualify for this scheme certain criteria must be met: -
The qualifying items must be included in the list of energy-efficient equipment maintained by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) in order to qualify for the scheme. This list is available for viewing on the SEAI website.
-
The equipment, machinery or plant must be owned by the business claiming the ACA. Equipment that is leased, let, or hired will not qualify for the scheme. The equipment must be new. There is a minimum amount that must be spent on the equipment to qualify for the scheme, this depends on which category the equipment falls into on the SEAI list.
-
While the qualifying items are used for the purpose of trade, it must be used wholly and exclusively used for the business.
-
The qualifying items must be in use at the end of the financial year that the ACA are claimed.
TerraZyme along with all of dóTerra’s products and essential oils can be ordered by contacting me on the number below. DóTerra’s essential oils can be used in three different ways: Topically – applying them on to our skin particularly our pulse points and soles of the feet. Aromatically – by placing two to three drops into a cold-water diffuser and diffusing these oils in our homes, classrooms, offices, salons or places of work / business and thirdly using the oils internally – by adding them to our favourite food, waters, or drinks, or simply by taking one drop daily under the tongue. The oils are a natural solution to care for our needs and our family’s health needs and they can support us with many of the following that we can experience from time to time, such as: Anxiety Issues, Digestive Support, Sleep Assist, Muscle Care, Stress Buster, Depression, Grief, Energy Boost, Skin Support, Immunity, Allergy Assist and so much more.
If you are considering investing in energy efficient equipment for your business, it is essential that you speak with your accountant to ensure that all the criteria for the ACA scheme are met. David Ward is an Area Manager with FDC Abbeyfeale. Find your local FDC office on www.fdc.ie

Jared: “I am an 18 year old cyclist and have set myself a challenge of cycling all the way from my home town of Listowel to The Phoenix Park in Dublin. For such a long time I thought that it would be almost a waste not to help and support a charity of my choice. I chose the Irish Cancer Society because I always see them either in person or on TV helping people and I wondered what I could do to help. Cycling 265km in one day will be no easy task but I am confident in my ability to complete it. SAN RITA WELLNESS
Welcome to San Rita Wellness weekly column…We hope you are safe and well This week we are going to focus on how important it is for you and your wellbeing to keep yourself accountable to your commitment to feel and look better. There are many areas where accountability plays a big part in your weight loss and wellness journey. So, let’s break them down and ask yourself are you actually ticking all the boxes. It’s you not me... Very often you can blame others for “making” you eat or drink something you actually hadn’t planned on having which can very often be the start of the slippery slope that we are all familiar with. For example you may feel that because it is Summer holidays time your feelings and emotions could be responsible for your actions to eat mindlessly and yet you could point the finger of blame at someone else. So maybe it’s time to recognise that you need to take the reigns of responsibility into your own hands, as after all it’s only you will carry the implications of your actions around with you let it be in your mind or your body. There will always be occasions when we do want to have that little bit of relaxation to have the treat without the after taste of the guilt. These would be occasions like a day out, a meal out, mini staycation. Blaming others for our actions is an easy way of letting ourselves “ off the hook “ for our own accountability. Your choices are your decisions. Always remember when you point the finger at someone else remember there are still four fingers pointing back at YOU. Accountability Accountability is all about keeping records. It is a proven fact when you keep an account of what you eat and drink you are more aware and mindful of your calorie intake. By keeping a track of your calories you are less likely to “forget” the little things that can all add up in the end. Keeping track of your daily foods can be done in different ways, it’s all about finding the way that works for you . Some people may like to keep a track record on their phone while others may prefer to put pen to paper and write it down, Whichever works will work No guessing, No messing!!

KILLER IN THE KREMLIN:
EXPLOSIVE ACCOUNT OF PUTIN’S REIGN By John Sweeney
A gripping and explosive account of Vladimir Putin’s tyranny, charting his rise from spy to tsar, exposing the events that led to his invasion of Ukraine and his assault on Europe. In Killer in the Kremlin, awardwinning journalist John Sweeney takes readers from the heart of Putin’s Russia to the killing fields of Chechnya, to the embattled cities of an invaded Ukraine.
Being accountable to somebody else with your weight other than yourself is very important also as we do tend to leave ourselves off the hook quite easily at times. By doing this you are making a commitment not alone to yourself but to somebody else also. “It will be a weight off your mind”. So that is another reason why San Rita Wellness works so well for our members as they check in weekly with us whether it is in our “ In Person Meetings “ or our “ At Home Service “.
In a disturbing exposé of Putin’s sinister ambition, Sweeney draws on thirty years of his own reporting - from the Moscow apartment bombings to the atrocities committed by the Russian Army in Chechnya, to the annexation of Crimea and a confrontation with Putin over the shooting down of flight MH17 - to understand the true extent of Putin’s long war.
Mini Goals
Drawing on eyewitness accounts and compelling testimony from those who have suffered at Putin’s hand, we see the heroism of the Russian opposition, the bravery of the Ukrainian resistance, and the brutality with which the Kremlin responds to such acts of defiance, assassinating or locking away its critics, and stopping at nothing to achieve its imperialist aims.
Setting yourself a mini goal will keep you mindful and in the loop when you do feel like you may be inclined to throw complete caution to the wind. Having that mini goal in mind will help you to get back on track again so as not to cause too much damage overall Keeping a weekly record of your mini goals can help your motivation and commitment to stick with it and know that it will be worth it. Remember the saying “ Slow progress is better than No progress“ You may set yourself a goal by deciding to lose five to seven pounds at a time or maybe seeing a lower number on the scales. It could be an item of clothing that is a little bit too tight at the moment that you would like for it to fit better or maybe you would like to be able to reach for a size down in the clothes rail next time you buy yourself something whether it’s online or when the shops reopen again. Now, picture that in your mind and think how great that would feel. Motivation We are all different and it takes different things to encourage us to be more motivated. For some it can be the number on the scales or the clothes fitting better. For more it could be looking forward to meeting up with family and friends over the Summer and wanting to look and feel our best. By constantly reminding ourselves of whichever it is will help keep the motivation strong. So, remember there is a saying: To wake up with Motivation Go to bed with Determination For extra support and for weekly accountability check us out on Facebook San Rita Wellness or sanritawellness.ie for details of our “ In Person Meetings “ “ At Home Service “ or our “ One to One Service “ NB - Our weekly “ In Person Meetings “ take place in Listowel Community Centre every Wednesday and in The Ballybunion Health and Leisure Centre every Thursday .
In the midst of one of the darkest acts of aggression in modern history - Russia’s invasion of Ukraine - this book shines a light on Putin’s rule and poses urgent questions about how the world must respond.

BALLYDUFF GAA NEWS Senior Hurling: Our Senior hurlers safely negotiated the Semi-final hurdle on Friday night last in Austin Stack Park when they overcame Crotta O’Neill’s. Scores were even enough early on but when Podge Boyle set up his brother Mikey, who finished to the net, to put Ballyduff into a commanding lead which they never relinquished to lead at halftime 1 – 7 to 0 – 7. Early in the second half Jack O’Sullivan set up Podge and he didn’t miss from close range. Crotta tried to the bitter end but their only consolation was a goal from a free in injury time to leave Ballyduff ahead by five points at the final whistle 2 – 18 to 1 – 16. We have now qualified for the Senior and Minor finals. The County Senior Hurling Championship final takes place in Austin Stack Park on Sunday August 7th at 3.00pm and it will be televised live on TG4 which is a major boost for Kerry hurling. Ballyduff Team: PJ O’Gorman; Adam Segal, Sean O’Connor, Kyle O’Connor; Thomas Slattery, Kevin Goulding, Paud Costello; David Goulding, Eoin Ross; Kieran O’Carroll, Jack O’Sullivan, Daniel O’Carroll(Capt.); Podge Boyle, Mikey Boyle, Anthony O’Carroll. SUBS: JP O’Carroll for Sean O’Connor(inj.); Kevin “Junior” O’Connor for Kieran O’Carroll; Paul O’Carroll for David Goulding; Aodhan Curley for Let’s all get behind the team so get out your flags, buntings and paint the village Green. County Finals don’t come around every day so let’s make it a great occasion when we take on fellow parishioners Causeway on August 7th. We are waiting for confirmation of the date for the minor final. Bucket Collection: A bucket street collection will take place on Saturday next in the village to defray expenses for our training fund. Please subscribe generously.

TARBERT
LIXNAW
TARBERT NEWS Email; tarbertnews@outlook.com or telephone Patrick Lynch at 068/ 36117 on or before 7pm Sunday.
ST MICHAEL’S CHURCH Mass Times: Monday 25th July at 7.30pm for Pat Joe, Kitty & Susan Lynch and deceased members of the Lynch Family Ballyhorgan. Wednesday 27th July at 10.00am. Friday 29th July at 7.30pm for Kathleen Galvin, Ballinclogher (Month’s Mind). Saturday 30th July at 7.30pm.
DEATHS The death took place of Michael, aka Mike Sheehan of Tarmons Cross, Tarbert. Mike who was aged 75 years died after a long illness on Tuesday 19 July. He reposed at home on Friday 22 July and removal of remains took place on Saturday 23 July to St Mary’s Church, Tarbert. Mike was a larger than life character as was evidenced by the large guard of honour of his Tarmons neighbours, friends and Sputnik supporters, the Tarmons parish league team of the Fifties. His Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fathers John O’Connor and Philip O’Connell with St Mary’s Choir in attendance. Fr John related some humorous anecdotes about Mike whom he referred to as the King of the Sputniks. His son Micheál who travelled home from the U.S. with other family members thanked all the medical staff and kind neighbours who had helped Mike and Teresa over recent weeks. Mike, was one of 9 children, 4 boys and 5 girls born to John and Nora Sheehan, née Fennell, at Tarmons. He was one of six boys who were enrolled at Tarmons National School in 1951. Like many of his family and generation he emigrated to the U.S. in search of employment. He worked in construction in New York. Between 1969 and 1975 he did two tours of duty with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and was wounded in combat for which he received the Purple Heart medal and other citations. During his stay in the U.S. he met his anam cara Teresa from Ballinamore in County Leitrim and they were married and returned to Ireland. During the 1980’s he worked on the Aughanish construction site and then worked the family farm. His two sons Shane and Micheal grew up and attended schools in Tarbert In St Mary’s New Cemetery, six members of the American Legion formed the honour guard at the graveside. After Last Post and Reveille, Danny Finucane, a veteran of the Gulf War, presented the Americal Marine Corps Flag to his widow Teresa. Former Kerry Sinn Féin TD, Martin Ferris acknowledged Mike’s work at election time on behalf of the party. Members of the choir then sang ‘Boolavogue’ as soldier and rebel Mike Sheehan was laid to rest. Mike was predeceased by his brothers Patrick, David and John, sisters Maureen, Nora and Peg. Sympathy of the community is extended to his wife Teresa, sons Shane and Micheál, sisters Ann Finucane, Tarbert and Catherine Cioffi, New York, daughters-in-law Eleanor and Elaine, grand-children, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends. The death also took place of Olive Kiely, née McKeon of the Bronx, New York on Monday 18 July. Olive who was aged 78 years was widow of the late Tim Kiely, Tarbert and had now been well for some time. Olive was born in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim and later emigrated to the U.S. She met Tim Kiely, a member of the Kiely family of Main Street, Tarbert who was also working in New York. Tim purchased the Hibernian Hotel and Bar in Ballybunion and the couple worked there during the Summer season returning to New York in the off season. They built a dwelling house in Church Street, Tarbert in 1966/67. Tim and Olive were married in Limerick in 1968, on the day after Tarbert won the North Kerry League Final with three of Tim’s brothers playing for Tarbert. They subsequently sold the Hibernian in Ballybunnion and Olive set up a ladies’ fashion boutique in their house in Church Street, Tarbert. They were moving back and forth between Tarbert and New York. Tragically their son Daniel was killed in an accident involving a lorry in New York in 1996 and Timmy himself died in New York on 25 December 2016 and both are remembered in the family plot in St Mary’s Graveyard in Tarbert. Funeral service and Requiem Mass for Olive took place in New York on Monday 25 July and burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Ireland. Sympathy of the community to her daughter Fiona in Church Street, Tarbert, son Timothy in New York, sisters Maureen and Evelyn, brother Pakie Joe and the extended Kiely and McKeon families. Sympathy also to the Stack family, Dooncaha, Tarbert on the death of Hannah O’Sullivan, née Stack, Finuge. Hannah was sister of the late Gerald Stack, Dooncaha. She died at Willow Brooke Care Centre, Casstleisland on 22 July. Her Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Listowel on Monday 25 July and interment took place in Kilsinan Cemetery, Tralee road. Listowel. Suaimhneas sioraí agus beannacht Dé le hanamacha na marbh go léir. On Bank Holiday Monday 1 August historians Pádraig O’Concubhair and Dr Declan Downey will lead a historical Walk focusing on points of historical and architectural interest. This Walk departs from St Michael’s Church yard at 2pm. Fáilte roimh gach éinne. WINDOW ON THE PAST The 1959 All Ireland Final in which Kerry defeated old rivals Galway took place in the pre television wireless era. My late father, Paddy Lynch usually showed the Gael Linn filmed highlights in the Shannon Cinema two weeks after the match and this always attracted big crowds. The Kerry team were flying out from Shannon Airport on an American tour and my father arranged for a private screening for them. Along with other excited schoolboys we waited outside the Cinema for their autographs, particularly our local heroes, ‘McAuliffe Dan, the boy from sweet Duagh and Listowel’s Garry McMahon not forgetting the great Mick O’Connell, ‘the boy from Valentia’. In 1962 I attended my first Final in Croke Park and saw Kerry full back and class mate, Tarbert’s Kieran O’Connor of the long kick, win his All Ireland Minor medal. This All Ireland was on RTE television in black and white and a new era had arrived.

LIXNAW COMMUNITY GAMES Munster Finals last weekend saw five athletes competing at the Munster Community Games in Ennis. First up on Saturday morning was Anna O’Neill in the U.8, 60m. Anna ran very well and came third in her heat. Unfortunately, as there were a lot of children in this competition, only the first two from each heat progressed to the final. Anna had won gold in the Kerry County Community Games and two of her fellow medallists on that day won gold and Pewter in Ennis so no doubt, she will be back again to compete next year, as the future for this young athlete is very bright. Up next was Jeremiah Galvin and Steve Reidy in the U.14, 100m. Again, this was broken into two heats with the boys in each heat. Steve ran his heat first, coming in second place. Jeremiah ran very strongly in his heat and was unlucky to be outside the qualifying positions for the final. Jeremiah is a talented sprinter and will be heading to the All-Ireland Community Games in Carlow to play an important part in our U.14 relay team. CONGRATULATIONS TO KERRY The old order has been restored and Sam is back home. It was good to watch a nice open game of football with some unreal points scored from play. Well done to both teams. We are so lucky to have such a fine bunch of talented footballers right now. Long may it last. Without a doubt Galway will be back again next year and looking
This was then followed by the U.16, 100m, in which Dylan O’Callaghan was competing. Dylan powered up the track, coming in a well-deserved first place in his heat. An hour later, he was on the track again for his final. A tough battle followed between Clare and the two Kerry boys, with Dylan crossing the finishing line, claiming the bronze medal. Last up was Thomas Keane in the U.12, 200m. Thomas sprinted up the track in his heat, coming in third place, to qualify for the final. In a tough race with all Munster counties battling hard, Thomas showed great determination on the bend, passing out other boys on the home straight. Thomas crossed the line in fifth position. A great race by a talented young man, who has still a part to play in our U.12 relay team in Carlow. A hard day’s sprinting by the five athletes, who represented Lixnaw and Kerry with pride last Saturday. Well done to all of you on your efforts and thanks also to your parents for their support. In summary, Lixnaw now have two athletes progressing to the Nationals, that is, Steve Reidy and Dylan O’Callaghan. They will now join the two Relay teams, already qualified for Carlow on the 13th August, so we wish them the very best of luck. Ciarraí Abú! LIXNAW CLUB LOTTO DRAW Jackpot €8,500. MOTHER OF DEVINE GRACE Mother of Devine Grace, You can find a way where there is no way. Please hear my prayer and grant my request. Amen. M.C.
“Ye have very strange notions over there at that place. Well,l’ve heard it all now!!!!” We were chatting about our ailments and all the difficulties and problems that will arise as we get older. That’s when l said I was so looking forward to my new body in the life hereafter. Well, these strange notions as my friend calls them aren’t figments of our imagination or old wives tales just to console us in our old age and help to get us through hard times. I believe that the bible is the Word of God, written by men but inspired by God. In 1 Samuel 15:29 l read “ ....the Strength of Israel (God) will not lie nor change His Mind for He is not a human being that He should change His Mind. “ So, bearing in mind that the One, True and Living God does not lie, when l read chapter 5 verse 1 of 2 Corinthians l believe it. It reads “For we know that when this tent (body)we live in now is taken down-when we die and leave our bodies- we will have wonderful new bodies in Heaven, homes that will be ours forever more, made for us by God Himself, and not by human hands.”
start our journey towards death the moment we are born. 2 Corinthians 5:2 puts it like this “... meanwhile we grow weary in our present bodies and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. “ I’ll be honest here. There are days when that new body would be very welcome indeed!!! At times l admit that I battle with resentment towards those who were wise enough to really look after their health and wellbeing from the cradle. But as a believer in Christ Jesus l am always encouraged not to lose heart. God Himself has prepared this place for us and He has given us His Holy Spirit to live in us as a guarantee of the absolute assurance of our secure Heavenly destination. I will end with Phillipians 3:20-21 “But we are citizens of Heaven where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.....He will take these weak, mortal bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same mighty power that He will use to conquer everything, everywhere.” If you require any further information you can call LCF at 087 9529907. Yours sincerely, Bridie (Dillon)Hartney
Here the apostle Paul describes our body in this corrupt fallen world as a temporary dwelling place, like a tent. It isn’t built to last. In truth we

Oh, most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven. Blessed Mother of the Son of God; Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me you are my Mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succour me in my necessity (Mention your request here) There are none that can withstand your power. Oh, Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee (3 times). Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3 times). Amen This prayer is never known to fail. It is to be said for 3 consecutive days. Publication on granting of the favour must be promised and done. T.W.
