HIS is a very difficult problem to discuss as I understand it, especially when the lord of the sixth house is situated in the eighth and the twelfth houses. Western astrology is not very illuminating in the consideration of this problem. Let us consider the general statement of Phaladeepika on this question: —

When the lords of the sixth or eighth or twelfth houses are afflicted, it is clear from this statement, the yogas are good. This view is quite rational, since if the lord of the sixth is afflicted by position or aspect the sixth house evil effects must be controlled, something like two negatives making one positive. Western astrolologers are not definite, whereas some of our authors make conflicting statements ; but I commend the views expressed in Phaladeepika to be quite reasonable and logical also. Again let us consider the sloka 18 of XVI Chapter of Phaladeepika which states as follows : ‘‘If the lord of the sixth house is in an evil house or debilitated or The astrological emagazine
combust or associated with an enemy and the lord of the lagna is more powerful than the lord of the sixth house, the native will conquer his enemies if the Sun is well placed (if the benefics are in the sixth house).” There are two readings for the last sentence or ``jJeew MegYes''. It is more reasonable to take the second reading. When the other nine bhavas are associated with the lords of the sixth, eighth and twelfth houses, we have the nine bad yogas as indicated in the earlier part of this article. The names themselves indicate the nature of the yogas. I shall now briefly indicate the effects of the lord of the sixth bouse when associated with the other houses, both according to the Hindu and Western systems. I propose to give only the meanings of the slokas in future as the slokas quoted by me are in Brihat Parasari Hora. (i) Lord of the sixth in (a) Lagna or (b) seventh or (c) eleventh house :– Hindu System — The native will be famous, rich, cultured, proud, bold and without children. Western' System — (a) Lord of the sixth in the first:— Ill-health due to lack of care to observe rules of health. Lover of pets. When the lord is afflicted, there is trouble through servants. (b) Lord of the sixth in the seventh – Troubles through servants and employees. Troubles with women and sickness. (c) Lord of the sixth in the eleventh – Sickness of relatives and the consequential worry. Interest in politics and social work. Remarks — Parasara and the Western methods do not agree. The question arises then as to what is correct. Both cannot be correct. February 2014

Michael Schumacher Formula One Legend R. S. Maniam With a string of titles and awards given by different groups for his proficieny in astrology, Mr. Maniam is a Medical Officer by profession. He has been honoured by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Baba and been the winner of the Nostradamus Award in 2010. He has had his spiritual training under Swami Bramma Sri Sivananda Maharaj, Ponnamaravathi, Puthukottai Dt. istrict, South India, Mr. Maniam, with an experience of over 25 years in the study of astrology, has contributed many articles to various journals on different aspects of mundane astrology. He attributes his initial learning to Dr. B. V. Ramanâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s books, later having studied under Mr. Muthuratina Bharathi.

ichael Schumacher was born on 3rd January 1969 at 1.43 pm at Hurth, Germany. He is a retired German racing driver. Schumacher is a seven-time Formula One (F1) World Champion and is widely regarded as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. After beginning with karting, Schumacher won German drivers' championships in Formula King and Formula Three before joining Mercedes in the World Sportscar Championship. After one Mercedes-funded race for the Jordan Formula One team, Schumacher signed as a driver for the Benetton Formula One team in 1991. After winning consecutive championships with Benetton in 1994/5, Schumacher moved to Ferrari in 1996 and won another five consecutive drivers' titles with them from 2000 to 2004. Schumacher retired from Formula One driving in 2006 staying with Ferrari as an advisor. Schumacher agreed to return for Ferrari part-way through 2009, as cover for the badly injured Felipe Massa, but was prevented by a neck injury. Schumacher returned to Formula One on a permanent basis from 2010 with the Mercedes team before retiring for a second time at the conclusion of the 2012 season. His career was not without controversy, including being twice involved in collisions in the final race of a season that determined the outcome of the world championship, with Damon Hill in 1994 in Adelaide, and with Jacques Villeneuve in 1997 in Jerez. an ambassador for Unesco and a spokesman for driver safety. He has been involved in numerous humanitarian efforts throughout his life and donated tens of millions of dollars to charity. Schumacher and his younger brother, Ralf, are the only brothers to win races in Formula One, and they were the first brothers to finish 1st and 2nd in the
same race, a feat they repeated in four subsequent races. Schumacher suffered a serious head injury whilst skiing in the French Alps in December 2013. He was airlifted to a hospital and placed in a medically induced coma, having suffered a traumatic brain injury.
