Saturn Aspecting Ketu

A Potent Period to Clean up Karma | Barry Rosen Ketu, that funny headless mystical guy known in Western astrology as the south node of the Moon, tends to take away the material world to point us toward liberation and enlighten us. He continues his journey in retrograde motion in Aquarius and gets within 6 degrees exact aspect from Saturn – the planet of responsibility and hard work. They get within about 3 degrees impact due to a 60 degree full sextile aspect from Sagittarius onto Aquarius in April/May. The power and proximity of this aspect will be most strong when Saturn went stationary on April 6th and Ketu was moving between 8 and 5 degrees in Aquarius. Some of this impact is being already felt. What does it all mean? Since Ketu is like Mars, Saturn is one of its greatest enemies. They both are there to guide you toward your spiritual path but can create hard lessons. Saturn separates and Ketu renounces and Ketu forces us to revisit the past and the Saturn’s transit through Ketu’s nakshatra of Moola is forcing us to take responsibility for our past karma and do the right thing. In the 12 step programs, they are fond of saying, “clean up your own mess.” This is a time to re-address people that you have hurt in the past and clean up your karma, to repay debts and to learn the hard lessons of responsibility. Sometimes there is someone that we had an argument 20 years ago and we have not talked to since then and it festers in our mind like an old wound and blocks our joy from being expressed. This is time to clean up those messes and reach out your hand first and say you are sorry. Get over the Aries stubbornness of wanting to be right and reach out and say you are sorry. I have done this and it is very powerful. Chances are the other person has forgotten or is just as stubborn and will be happy to clear the air. It is particularly powerful with parents and siblings. Why hold onto the past hurts? Even if you are right, clearing the air will free your mind and allow you not to be haunted with regrets. If you owe some old debt, this is a time to work hard and pay it back. Saturn keeps us anchored in the material world and being responsible so we are going to have to bear down and learn those lessons. Saturn and Ketu are both wanderers so there may be a tendency to want to run away to an ashram or live abroad to flee the pain of the past but this transit is beckoning us to clean it up. Ketu is happy to live simply and not face up to the responsibility of the material world. He would refrain from doing the hard work to succeed and would rather hide away in the ashram and THE ASTROLOGICAL eMAGAZINE

Choose a Winning Career through Palmistry | Tapasyah Iyer

“Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.....

- Carl Jung

(Moola Mantra: Remember these mantras, before coming to a conclusion through palm reading, related to any query. Always, make an interpretation about a palm, as a whole, and do not come to a conclusion, by a single sign or feature. A negative symbol, perhaps, is modified, by a positive feature in some other place. Never jump to a conclusion, on impulse. Patience is a virtue, more so to a palm reader!) The most challenging question, most parents and students face is the choice of an apt educational course, to make a successful career. The following write up, deals with this most vital query, in a most simple and lucid way, that, even a novice can understand. We cannot exactly pin point, which course, a person should take, as we are all capable of a wide range of skills and, with the boom of Information Technology, the scope for the present generation is unlimited. However, we can narrow down, to the most suitable field, a person has inherent potential and inclination. Parents should be encouraged, to suggest their kids, to choose a branch of study, which suits their nature, and not because, it is more in demand. Education has direct influence upon their career and a choice opposed to their natural talents is not likely to bring peace and happiness in the long run. The best period for career related, palm analysis, is between class 9 to class 12, when most children become serious and consider future plans.

Tapasyah Iyer from Chennai, is now based in Navi Mumbai. An Electronics and Communication Engineer by profession, she has pursued Palmistry passionately. She is a Jyotisha Praveena from Icas and has pursued courses in Palmistry from Institute of Plamistry, New Delhi and studied Phythogerean and Chaldean Numerology. Her seriousness in the study of Palmistry is known when she says Palmistry is her penance and meditation. Tapasyah has much interest in the traditional Kolam.

Before moving to the specifics, consider the general interests and aptitude of the child, whose palm, you are attempting to decipher and give some direction. The basic question you should ask yourself as a palmist is:

Is the child an introvert or extrovert? A child with a narrow palm and closely held fingers, could be more quiet, shy and introverted, than a child with a broad palm and widely spread fingers (fig.1)

Does the Child Enjoy Physical/Mental Activities? Soft skinned children like to work with feelings (mental stimulation), whereas coarse skinned children like active work (physical activities) THE ASTROLOGICAL eMAGAZINE

An Exhaustive List of

Remedial Measures in Vedic Astrology | Gary Gomes Sani Dosha, Sade Sati The effect of Saturn in a vedic chart produces a great deal of fear and anxiety in life. I have come to wonder over the past ten years the impact of Saturn‘s influence. It makes us give up easily, making us succumb to the pressures that Saturn often exerts on us. The effect of Saturn in a chart hurts us by taking things away, by causing delays, by causing poverty, confinement, injury, debility, shame, humiliating circumstances, illness and even by destroying things in our life. Saturn main periods are not necessarily damaging throughout, and Saturn transits can cause rises in status as well as problems. Dr. Gary Gomes has been a Vedic Astrologer since 1990. He is an ordained Swami of the Temple of Kriya Yoga and served as the Vice President/President of the Council of Vedic Astrology. He has taught at Kepler College and American College of Vedic Astrology (as a Board Member). Many of his articles have been published internationally. Dr. Gomes has appeared on both the radio and TV channels and has been one of the few astrologers who predicted Donald Trump’s victory at the November 2016 US Elections. With many awards and titles, he is respected as one who can convey complicated principles of Jyotisha in an easy and understandable manner.

The most feared transit of Saturn is called Sade Sati or the seven and a half years, which can destroy and reconfigure our lives most dramatically. This occurs when transit Saturn is in the sign behind the natal Moon, passes over the natal Moon itself and passes over the second house form the natal Moon. According to certain sources, Saturn can cause damage when it passes over the fourth house too from the natal Moon, especially in matters connected with home life, mother, and domestic happiness. There is another damaging transit of Saturn - the transit through the eighth house, called the Ashtami Sani. Naturally, these transits are less damaging when the ashtakavarga points are high. (There are only three Saturn transits which could be called benefic).

Remedies Often, Saturn transits must be endured, but there are a few remedial measures that seem to work very well for Saturn. The first of these is the repetition of a specific mantra contained in K.T. Shubhakaran‘s text Nakshatras. Vakratunda Mahakaya Surya Koti Sama Prabha | Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva Karkeyshu Sarvada || (Daily once) Chaturbhujo Bhanachapa Khadga Hastho Varapradaha | Grudharvahano Gatho Nithyam Sankorothu Sanaischaraha || (Eleven times every day, primarily during difficult Saturn transits.)

We discussed the 1st verse of the 14th sarga: Jeevita Garhana – blaming life. We are surprised at this theme. We want to have wishes and desires. Many people wish to enjoy life. But what is important is to have an aim, a goal in life. Do not encourage wishes. Encourage goals. When you teach children to keep having wishes you are misleading and misguiding them. You must have a clear picture of your goals.
