Editor’s Note Dear Readers, Greetings! enemies, health and sickness, attachment and hatred, maternal relatives, cousins, servants, and inferiors.
All of us have, some or the other time in life, marveled at the way God has designed and created everything so systematically. From the smallest grain of sand to the largest planet, everything has a role to play. The planets, while moving about their orbits and axes are also moving energies that directly or indirectly affect each of our lives - some, for good and some, for not so good. All depending upon when we were born. Often when others scratch their heads wondering how a wild card entry tennis player became number one or an almost failing marriage resurrected, astrologers smile and look up!
Continuing the journey of self-transformation, Dr. Rahul Raveendran Nair reminds us that Dina lord, its traits, and houses in a horoscope will provide great insights about the ways that an Individual can pursue to set constructive goals and march towards them.
एकं जीवनम ्, एकः अवसरः - One life, one chance is the mantra for most people when it comes to marriage and that is the reason for people to check and recheck the horoscopes of the prospects in detail. No other decision in life receives such great attention as marriage and most people look for answers in astrology to find the right life partner.
Our cover story is on Fortune and the Fourth House. Our Senior Editor, Raman Suprajarama has shed light on the various aspects of fourth house including fortune, how to interpret them, and how to see these aspects in any horoscope. As an example, he explains the impact of fourth house of the 23 times grand slam title winner, Serena Williams along with a few rules to follow. Read and take a step towards understanding how near or far you are towards building fortune and prosperity.
And so is finding the right time for performing the marriage equally important. The influence of planet Saturn and Sadesati should be considered while planning the marriage. Dr. Jayanth Agastya discusses the rules and combinations for Sadesati and the chances of marriage. He takes into account all the 12 lagnas and explains them with examples.
Karma impacts our lives! Karma is the fruits of our action, good or bad. Though one has no control over the past Karma, yet he/she should be able to control and manage all future Karma and hence the later life. Some of the Karma is due to what we have learnt but most of it is because of our genes, that's exactly what Lalitha Donatella Riback shares in her article titled Astrological Revelations of Your Soul and Genes.
The editorial team would like to hear from you what you think of this particular subject! We end with the monthly features with the most awaited predictions for your Moon signs, Ephemeris and Calendar for the month of February. Share your comments or suggestions at info@ astrologicalmagazine.com

Astrological Revelations of Your Soul and Genes Lalitha Donatella Riback
Lalitha Donatella Riback holds a B.A. in Vedic arts and science from the Academy of Vedic Art and Science in San Francisco, and certifications as a yoga teacher, Reiki Master, and Ayurveda consultant. She also holds an advanced certification in DNA Astrology. Lalitha has been a professional Vedic astrologer for 11 years. In 1993, Lalitha began studying yoga philosophy, the Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Ayurveda, and later Jyotish or Vedic astrology. After living in India for five years, she wrote a book on Vedic astrology and spiritual transformation, Bliss Lab: How the Ancient Yogis Acquired Supernormal Powers and How You Can Too, #1 in Amazon New Releases in Eastern Astrology and #2 in Astrology. Lalitha is the founder of ShreemLab, where she’s a life coach and Vedic astrologer helping people achieve more success and spiritual growth based on their horoscopes. You can contact her at info@shreemlab.com
founded by my spiritual guru, Dr Baskaran Pillai, a humanitarian, scholar and Tamil Siddha master.
Many are the mysteries of the human experience. On the one hand, some people can barely make a living, and suffer from poverty or disease from birth until their last days. On the other hand, some individuals live a fairly uncomplicated existence, experiencing abundance, good health, harmonious relationships and even fame.
According to research done by Dr. Ramkumar, DNA astrology appears to stem from the lineage of Sage Bhrigu. DNA Astrology doesn’t predict events, and definitely doesn’t replace Jyotish, as it’s a complementary system.
But what unites the human race is that our lives (even the most fulfilling ones) bring us a certain amount of suffering.
DNA Astrology helps answer three basic questions: 1. What’s the purpose of my life? 2. What couldn’t I achieve in my past life? 3. Which karmic imprints (or Prarabdha karma) am I experiencing in this life? Also, with the study of DNA astrology, we can help reduce the undesirable karmic imprints, find solutions to life's problems, and end the pain.
According to the Vedic tradition, suffering is due to karma, which is the mindset or thought patterns we were born with. The planets are the agents who deliver thoughts that lead to actions. Karma, either good or bad, is also the result of deeds and decisions made in past lives.
Finally, DNA Astrology helps remove mental and emotional blocks that sabotage our happiness and peace, so we can live a more joyful, successful, and dharmic life.
DNA Astrology and Its Applications to End Suffering DNA astrology is a fairly new method. It was revealed a few years ago to a Vedic astrologer who is now teaching and empowering others.
Soul, Karma and Genes DNA Astrology teaches that karma is in the genes. The nature of this karma can be identified from the 27 nakshatras.
My teacher in this astrological system was Dr Ramkumar from AstroVed, the astrology portal February 2022

Fortune and Fourth House – A Step-by-Step Guide Raman Suprajarama Varahamihira in his most respected Brihat Jataka just uses one word to refer to the fourth house - Gruha. Gruha can be understood as a house or home.
I wish to share extensively about one interesting house - the Fourth House or the House of Fortune. Traditionally, aspects related to Mother and overall happiness are commonly seen from the fourth house. But is that all? The fourth house is the house of fortune and prosperity. When properly understood and analyzed, the fourth house will unravel ways in which you can improve your lifestyle - property, comforts and more. Right application of the fourth house combinations pave way for the native to live a comfortable life in this highly competitive and cut-throat world. In this editorial, I will provide you with enough armamentarium so that each one of you can carefully examine your respective fourth houses and plan accordingly to live a better lifestyle.
Kalyanavarma is not as miserly as Mihira. He refers to the fourth house as Bhandava (relations). At a later stage, he uses the words vesma (chamber), sukha (happiness and comforts), jala (water), patala (seven levels below the ground), bandhu (relatives) and hubuka (fourth). Venkatesh Daivagna and Deekshitha are more generous.
Venkatesha Daivagna calls the fourth house sukha (happiness), ambu (water), bandhu (relations), rasathala (six levels below the ground), hibuka (fourth), veshma (chamber), pathala (seven levels below the ground), hridaya (heart), vahana (vehicles) and matru (mother). He also adds asana (seat and beds) to this list in later chapters.
In any horoscope of an individual, there are 4 unique houses that act as pillars for the native. These four houses are as follows -
Vaidyanatha Deekshitha gives the following – rasathala (six levels below the ground), patala (seven levels below the ground), vriddhi (growth), hibuka (fourth), kshiti (land), matru (mother), vidya (knowledges), yana (vehicle), ambu (water), geha (house), sukha (happiness), bandhu (relations), and chathusthaya (square).
1.
The first house or Ascendant supports the native by giving her/him the physical manifestation. This essentially is the native herself or himself. The first house denotes the physical form, mental acumen and others that make a person. Without that the person is nothing. 2. The fourth house is the house of prosperity. It shows various aspects in one’s life that support the native to improve his or her lifestyle. 3. The seventh house denotes the partners that come along to help you at various journeys of your life. 4. The tenth house denotes the returns that you get based on the deeds performed by you. Profession and other acts carried by you are influenced by this house. These four houses are collectively referred to as Kendras or Quadrants. In this article, I will delve in detail about the second quadrant – the fourth house. Let's take a quick trip to the classics, and what they say about the fourth house. February 2022
Vaidyanatha
Mantreshwara has been the most generous in describing the fourth house. The additional names given by him for the fourth house are geha (house), kshetra (land), maatula (maternal uncle), bhaagineya (nephew particularly the sister’s son), bandhu (relation), mitra (friend), mata (mother), rajya (kingdom), go (cow), mahisha (buffalo), sugandha (fragrance), vastra (clothes), bhoosha (jewellery), patala (region below the ground level), hibuka (fourth), sukha (happiness), ambu (water), setu (bridge) and nadhi (river). Podumanai Chomadiri, author of Jataka Desha Marga pretty much follows Mantreshwara. He gives the following to the fourth house – vidya (knowledge), kshetram, vahanam, bandhu, 11

HOROSCOPE ANALYSIS
SADESATI – SHANI’S (SATURN’S) INFLUENCE ON MARRIAGE Dr. Jayant Agasthya Dr Jayant Agasthya is a qualified Company Secretary and has worked in several multinationals. He learnt Jyotisha under late Prof. M. K. Ramachandra and Dr. K. N. Ravi and has been practicing for the past 25 years. He completed his thesis on “Vimshamsha – understanding spiritual journey through horoscope” under the guidance of Dr. Prof. N. S. Murthy. He has also published articles on Soundaryalahari in Vijaya Karnataka newspaper.
Gruhasth ashrama or the sacred matrimonial journey is extremely important in the life of every human being. This journey not only brings a boy and girl together, but also two families who might have never known each other. Further, this union also gives opportunities for the newly-wed couple to continue their respective family lineage and at the same time give a good citizen in the form of children.
lord, 5th lord, 9th lord, 12th lord or their respective houses. This combination has to be checked both in Rasi and Navamsa. Since this article pertains to one such planetary influence on marriage – i.e., Saturn, let us examine how this slow planet guides the fixing / happening of a marriage ceremony. Sadesati is a period when Saturn transits the 12th, 1st and 2nd from the Moon. We will not delve into the aspect of when exactly Sadesati starts for a particular rasi in this article as it is out of scope. Chances of marriage happening during this time is very high and a very interesting aspect is that this Sadesati can be running for either the boy or the girl or both or neither. It should be noted that in addition to the above, if the relevant Dasa / Bhukti for marriage is also running for the native, then it is a sure shot combination for marriage.
It is a well-known and accepted fact that marriages happen due to karmic influences. While there is a generally accepted rule that marriage happens during a particular age, this age is normally different for boy and girl. The age depends on desha, kaala, and varthamaana – more-so applicable in today’s world. Since the marriage ceremony is performed once in a lifetime, it is very important that the timing of this event i.e. muhurta is auspicious and bereft of as many doshas as possible. This muhurta nirnaya should be set by an expert astrologer after examining multiple aspects.
Few rules and combinations for Sadesati and marriage for all the 12 lagnas (research done on any lagna/ any rasi with Sadesati in place).
People who have studied Jyotisha in-depth and have an exhaustive working knowledge of this science, accept without hesitation the influence Saturn and Jupiter bring in ensuring the marriage happens.
1.
When Moon is the seventh lord (applicable only to Capricorn lagna): Moon placed anywhere in the chart for Capricorn lagna and Sadesati running on this 7th lord is a definite yoga for marriage.
Based on the analysis of hundreds of charts, we can safely say that Saturn’s influence is seen predominantly on Lagna, Lagnadhipati, Sapthamadhipathi, Moon or Venus. In addition, Saturn may aspect or be in conjunction with 2nd
2.
Saturn is the Lagnadhipati and 12th lord (Sayanasthan Adhipathi/house of bedcomforts) for Aquarius lagna. If he transits over Moon, marriage may take place though Moon happens to be the 6th lord.
