His detailed prediction was published in the April 2019 of The Astrological eMagazine and is a must-read case study for all students and scholars of Vedic Astrology.

We also congratulate our scholar contributors – Gary Gomes, Dr. Nemani Venkata Raghunatha Rao and Indranil Ray for their successful political predictions and detailed analysis. These predictions can be viewed by visiting our website www.astrologicalmagazine.com . In this issue, we bring a host of interesting articles. Our beloved Editor-in-Chief elaborates the sacred Vastu rules governing the placement of the main door or Mahadwara for a human habitation. The main door is the nasal passage of your home. By placing 2

the main door in the Vastu appropriate module of the Paramasayika Mandala, many of the Vastu imbalances get marginalized. Barry Rosen, a very deep scholar in Astrology, writes about the sixth house. The 6th house is usually understood as a house of enemies, disease, litigation, digestive power and everyday work. He writes that it goes beyond these, and shows the karmic difficulties that express themselves through enemies, debts, struggles and challenges toward serving others in life. It represents the drudgery of going to work every day and having the discipline to do it. The key to the 6th house is the ability to overcome our obstacles and having the courage to fight. Of the three most challenging houses of the 6th, 8th, and 12th, the 6th house is the least problematic to deal with if we are disciplined and will practice overcoming bad habits and vices. Vedic Astrology is one of the greatest gifts given by our Maharshis to Mankind. A horoscope in the hands of an authentic astrologer is like giving canvas and paint to a painter. The Astrologer can do a deep study of the person character, his family life, his wealth and fortune, profession etc and guide the individual to perform at his best and be successful. In the article titled How to Analyze a Horoscope, the author, Sri Damodaran S. Ramakrishnan, takes a horoscope of an ordinary citizen, and illustrates how one should analyze the horoscope. Aggressive and violent behaviors in human beings are considered normal when the behaviors last for a small time frame. However, if these tendencies The astrological emagazine

or behaviors last for a long time, then it can be problematic. Aggressive behaviors have been observed, analyzed and studied from a very long time. Thomas Hobbes, an English philosopher and one of the founders of the modern political philosophy, argued that humans are naturally aggressive and that aggressiveness was a permanent tendency or characteristic of human beings. On the other hand, Jean-Jacques Rousseau believed the opposite. He felt that while humans exhibited temporary aggressiveness, they were naturally very soft, gentle and caring. The Vedic understanding and analysis of aggression is much deeper. It takes into account the natural mindset of a person, the triggers for aggression and the ability to withstand or control aggression. Subhash Sharma, explains

the reasons for aggressive and violent behaviors, the astrological patterns which indicate this, and certain simple remedies that one can follow. We also bring to you a paper on the occult power of gems written by Cyrus D. F. Abayakoon. He takes us back to history and shows how Gems were used by kings and kingdoms, the effect it had on their lives and the science behind them. Happy reading,

Vastu Lessons : Auspicious Direction for Main Door |Bangalore Niranjan Babu

Vastu Shastra or Sthapathya Veda is an Upaveda or sub-Veda of the Atharva Veda written thousands of years ago. The principles of Vastu are concerned with the arrangement and balancing of these five elements in their proper order and proportions for the construction of the house so that human beings can have better living conditions.

By placing the main door in the Vastu appropriate module of the Paramasayika Mandala, many of the Vastu imbalances get marginalised In modern times, we have ‘adapt’ Vaastu to changed conditions and not mechanically adopt it. For eg, pollution zones (rest-rooms) were once built away from the main house since Vaastu decrees they should not be part of the main structure. But today, the prime demand of a home-owner is an attached bathroom. So, we have to give in but see that the bathroom is located properly. The placement of the Main door or Mahadwara is very important aspect in Vastu Shastra. The main door is the nasal passage of your home. By placing the main door in the Vastu appropriate module of the Paramasayika Mandala, many of The astrological emagazine

the Vastu imbalances get marginalised. I’ll shed light on what Mandalas are, why Paramasayika Mandala is important for human habitation, and how Paramasayika Mandala can be used to identify the right placement of the Main door. A Mandala loosely means a marked territory where the five elements of nature are in an equilibrium. The mandala is a tool that helps us establish an understanding of the strength and weakness of various energies. In Vastu, we use the rectangular form of Mandala. In Vastu Shastra, we have listed 32 different Mandalas, each for a specific type of use. We have identified Paramasayika Mandala for human habitation. Parama means absolute and sayika means of defined order. Paramasayika Mandala is the most well-defined Mandala for use human habitation. It is nine by nine module or grid. This means that there are 81 modules identified in a defined fashion for various activities to maximize the positive influence of the energies.

The mandala is a tool that helps us establish an understanding of the strength and weakness of various energies Divide the side that you wish to have the entry into nine equal parts. This is already achieved using the Paramasayika Mandala. Only certain exalted june 2019

Worship the Sun God The Sun God awaken the knowledge within us. Worldly knowledge is not as important as knowledge of the Self. We can gain worldly knowledge easily from the newspaper, television and from talking to others. But we should open our inner eyes for knowledge of the Self. How to Analyze a Horoscope? |Damodaran S. Ramakrishnan

In this article, the author, Sri Damodaran S. Ramakrishnan, takes a horoscope of an ordinary citizen, and illustrates how one should analyze the horoscope. Read on.

We have seen and analyzed the horoscopes of rich people, celebrities, film stars, industrialists, trade union leaders, politicians, government officials, thieves, serial killers, rapists, anti-social people and other such categories. These horoscopes interest us very much. We would like to know the particular planetary position that causes the rise or fall of these people. Some have risen from very mediocre position to occupy the highest positions. Some have fallen from grace from top positions. We always think of these types of people only.

Sri Damodaran S. Ramakrishnan comes from an astrology family. His father Late Sri. P. K. Subramaniam was a noted astrologer in Palakkad (in Kerala) and Chennai, his place of domicile. The author learnt astrology from his father at a relatively young age and further expanded his knowledge by reading many books of eminent authors like Dr. B.V. Raman. Apart from his scholarship in astrology, the author also teaches Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the IIT Jee Main and NEET students in his coaching centre at Chennai.

But in reality, the world is full of ordinary people – common people. These people are born in middle class or lower middle class families. They complete their education, take up an ordinary job or profession, get married to ordinary spouse, have children, and struggle to bring them up, retire from profession, contract some diseases and finally die. There is no big rise or fall for these people. They come across day to day problems and manage them somehow. In many cases, problems solve themselves. They take loans, struggle to repay them and finally manage to do so somehow and then borrow again. Life goes on like this. Nobody is interested in these types of horoscopes because we all love only celebrities even though we ourselves may be ordinary. I had a strong desire of analyzing one such horoscope for the benefit of the readers of The Astrological eMagazine. Damodaran (name changed) came to me recently and showed his horoscope. He narrated his problems and requested me to analyze his horoscope. He wanted to find a solution to his problems. He was 45 years old and belonged to a lower middle class family.

Occult Power of Gems

| Cyrus D. F. Abayakoon

IN studying the occult power of gems—the influence on man’s mind and behaviour— we must necessarily dwell on the impact of gem-strike in the world’s history. Just a century back, 1866 to be exact, a tired hunter and trader, a Liverpool adventurer named John O’Reilly, called on Van Niekirk, a Boer settler living in Griqualand West, situated between Cape Colony, Free State, and Batlapin. Hunter O’Reilly saw Niekirk’s daughter playing with a collection of pebbles brought from the nearby Vaal river. The hunter was also a trader. His sharp eye caught the sparkle in a few of the pebbles. As Niekirk did not know the existence of diamonds he allowed the shrewd Britisher to take the pebbles to a nearby settlement called Colesberg. Here O’Reilly was called a crank, a dreamer having visions of diamonds inside rounded river stones.

The diamond was discovered by the Hindu Aryans long before any other race. Indian diamonds went to Troy. Among the residents of the shanty-town of Colesberg there was one man whose expert eyes detected a real diamond. He paid the hunter a small sum and brought the stone back to London. A firm named Hunt and Roskell bought it for £ 500. When O’Reilly heard the news of this sale he left Colesberg, joined Niekirk and started real prospecting. The latter, not long afterwards, found a beautiful, raw African diamond which realised £ 11,000. When the Boers heard of the diamond-rich earth near the Vaal river, the almost abandoned, unhealthy land came to life. The effect of the diamond on the politics of South Africa may be distasteful but history must affirm that if not for the enterprise of the White hunters, traders The astrological emagazine

and prospectors the economic development of South Africa would have been delayed at least for a century. On the other hand, we could say that the diamond had a very evil influence on certain African tribes. In 1869 a party of heavily-armed Boers terrorised the natives and drove them away from the Vaal river banks, exploited the area for diamonds and by 1879 collected a bonanza to the tune of several millions of pounds sterling. If the native African was lucky to come under British colonial power he too would have been able to share in the profit. But fate decreed otherwise. It is not unlikely that between September 1975 and February 1976 the fatalistic influences of the South African diamond will plague the life of the Boer descendants—sins of the fathers visit on the children. Diamonds can be called agents of greed. When organisations control the output and increase their market value (as opposed to occult value) the desire for the possession of diamonds—may be even as a status-symbol—the greed for money, increases. Recently a famous French actress was buried with her diamond-necklace. Thieves desecrated the body, stole the diamonds and probably sold them for a tidy sum. It is predictable that the despoilers and the purchasers alike will pay a heavy price. In Britain, a century back, there was no special desire for diamonds, despite Kimberley and the Diamond Rush of 1869. This was because the intelligentsia were already acquainted with the richness of Indian diamonds and gems had an unholy connection with the practices of witches.

Historically and philologically the word diamond stems from Dia-Mani or Diya-Manikya, i.e., the water-gem. june 2019

Astrology and Child Training ASTROLOGY has suffered a great deal from its misconception as fortune-telling. It acts as a guide,’ not from the sensational publicity standpoint, but as a factor of understanding. Especially in the matter of child training, astrology affords the greatest assist ance. Great care is necessary in encouraging the normal development of the faculties. The utmost of tolerance must be practised by the parents. Between the ages of 10 and 20 the child is in the greatest need of sympathy and understanding and a careful scrutiny of the directional influences of the horoscope during this period will be of immense assistance to the parents in the matter of developing the child’s faculties in the proper grooves. The correct development of the child “and the proper opportunities presented in correct order are the essential differences between the child that finds a normal place in life and the one who is left to learn through sad mistakes. Astrology helps you to work in harmony with nature and if you adopt proper astrological advice your children will develop and grow into the flowed of manhood and womanhood with ease and quiet diginity of strength and character.‘

9 or 10 set fire to the residence of his parents. Not a day passes but some crime more or less terrible is committed by children. That there is something seriously wrong with such children is admitted. Several distinguished scientists contend that crimes committed by children can be avoided and stopped. Special schools and reformatories are needed. Those with criminal instincts must be particularly watched and dealt with in a proper manner. This suggestion of course comes from a respectable medical source. It is true that those with criminal instincts must be particularly watched. How to detect the presence of such criminal instinct in a child and the period of its manifestation ?

By an examination of the horoscope it Is possible to ascertain the energy both constructive and destructive that one* has to his or her credit. Supposing a horoscope reveals criminal tendencies. These, are of course destructive in nature. If a constructive outlet for this destructive energy is presented, criminal instincts may be checked. Herein lies the value of astrology. It rests on the parents to have their children’s horoscopes examined and then seek remedies to have their potential energies directed into useful and constructive channels. Psychologists must use astrology- in determining the possible trend of the development of children.

We now come to another important question. A boy does not like a mental occupation but he is forced to work in this line having been given an education which really does not suit his aptitudes. What will be the result ? His capacity will be overtaxed and he may lose the mental balance with the result he may become insane. Such instances are not rare. We have hundreds of horoscopes of boys whose careers have become tragic, just because the parents did not take proper care in the training of the boys concerned. I shall illustrate a few horoscopes with a view to driving home to the reader the truth of my above observations.

Throughout the world crimes committed by juveniles are on the increase. Quite recently a child aged about

Here modern psychology cannot be of any use because it is yet in an experimental stage. Instead of waiting till a child comes up to a certain age and then find out by a study of its mental and physical behaviour, whether or not it exhibits criminal tendencies it would be far more beneficial to examine horoscopes and find out the presence or absence of such evil and destructive tendencies.
