Parashara, in his magnum opus Hora Shastra largely discussed children in the context of fifth house in Chapter 16. He begins by saying लग्नपे सुतभावस्थे and speaks about the number of children, their sex, difficulties and delays in the birth of children, adoption, loss of children etc. Largely, the fifth

house was restricted to children. A scholar by name Kalayanavarma in the 10th century, in his work Saravali also details about aspects around children wrt to fifth house. He doesn’t however stop there.

He goes ahead and tells us that wealth and poverty should also be seen from the fifth house. A little later, in the last part of the 13th century, Mantreswara, ् श ं े सौम्ययुकत ् े पञ्चमे वा तदीश्वरे writes thus - सौम्यर्कष which states that we can understand the patience levels and thinking capacity from the fifth house.

One can clearly noticed that fifth house is more than just children. It also denotes wealth, poverty, patience etc. Can it denote more than this? Yes. There is an underlying aspect that the fifth house denotes – passion and self-expression which manifests or unfolds as children, wealth, critical thinking etc. Sri Barry Rossen writes about this, and shows how one can read the fifth house.

2019 Loka Sabha Election Predictions using Padanaathaamsa Dasa |Dr. Nemani Venkata Raghunatha Rao

Introduction The word “Padanaathaamsa” is composed of three words: ‘Pada’, which refers to the Arudha Lagna or Pada Lagna, ‘Amsa’ meaning division (Varga) and referring to the Navamsa in particular. ‘Nada’ seems to be a loosely used of ‘Nava’ and the name can read as ‘Pada Navamsa Dasa’ instead. The Arudha Lagna shows the social standing and image of the individual and the Lord of the Arudha Lagna is the prime controller of this image (Maya).

Important Vastu Tips for Interiors |Bangalore Niranjan Babu

Vastu is today a house-hold word, the world over.

In any construction — a residence, a temple, a layout, a hospital, a corporate business complex, an educational institution, etc. etc. — the first thought is Vastu. Each structure comprises of various materials like sand, brick, cement, mortar, wood, steel, etc.

Each material (including us) radiates energies — positive and negative. Vastu aims at interfacing these and other terrestrial energies (our pets, us, the furniture, the electrical and other gadgets, the carpets and curtains, etc.) with the celestial energies (emanating from other planets and constellations of our and other universes) to make man a part and parcel (of the cosmic order) and provide him with health, happiness and contentment.

Vastu gives importance to surroundings around him and tells us that balancing the various energies in this environment ensures stable mental and physical health. An imbalance can cause sickness, lack of affluence and discontented home ambiance. The ancient masters while speaking of the different mandalas or plans identified the adi bhootas or the primary elements of nature in a nine module plan called Pitha mandala. Keeping this in view we can position furniture, electronic and electrical items, pictures and photos, statues and idols, water fountains and fish aquarium, wind chimes, pyramids (shikara/stupi) mirrors, etc. and use proper colors to balance the various energies that get activated once the four walls of an area come into existence.

nine more parts and the central part of that becomes the griha nabhi (the navel) of the house. The central main module corresponds to the brahmasthana of the house. The remaining eight modules of the house correspond to the four cardinal (disha) directions north, east, south and west and the four angular (vidisha) directions northeast, southeast, southwest and northwest. The Adi Bhootas (primary elements) identified by the ancient masters for the four angular directions are udaka (water) for northeast, agni (fire) for the southeast, akasha (space) for the southwest and vayu (air) for the northwest. The central module is identified with the primary element prithvi (earth.

Once the plan is superimposed with the Vastu Purusha’s diagram, you will find his head (mental strength) covers the northeast sector and his legs (physical strength) cover the southwest sector. His navel is in the central module. His right arm is in the southeast and the left arm in the northwest. As a general rule, the masters of the home can occupy the south and southwest rooms, the male children can occupy the south, southeast and east rooms, the female children can occupy the north, northwest and west rooms and the elders (grandparents) and the senior members (grand uncles and aunts) and the not-too-well members of the family can occupy the northeast portions of the house. The elder members of the family sleep with their heads to the south and the younger members with their heads to the east.

After this basic introduction, let us try to design the interiors of our homes room by room.

How to check your lucky Planet, and benefit from it? |Raman Suprajarama

My students often ask me how I am able to exactly tell which planet is powerful for a person, without looking at their horoscope. I am also able to tell which planet is also weak. Very often, I give out predictions without even looking at the horoscope.

I am sharing how to do this in this write up.

Let me narrate to you a recent incident. It was busy afternoon, and I was talking to a few corporate folks.

A lady in the crowd was told that I was a “modern day astrologer”. She walked towards me, introduced herself and without going around, directly said she did not believe in astrology. This is a common and recurring occurrence with me. While one would expect that my BP would have increased, I stayed calm and just replied with a one word, “Alright”.

I continued my conversations with others around me. Many present there took note of my unaffected response. The lady was surprised. I could notice at the corner of my eye that she was visibly upset and wanted to confront me. She again intervened and said, “Prove to me that astrology works”. I never get provoked during such incidents, but this time, I felt it was different. I could sense that this lady wasn’t trying to show off or be smart. On the other hand, she showed signs of being duped by a con astrologer, who are now in plenty.

I observed her for a minute and said “Ms Pavitra, I don’t do consultations for free, but I’ll make an exception here. What if I tell you which planet is casting a strong influence on you without looking at your horoscope?” She was taken aback. She was silent. I followed it up with “What if I also tell you that this is the reason why you have a natural ability to make friends easily?” Her eyes gleamed.

The crowd around suddenly went silent and were listening to me attentively.

The lady accepted by challenge, half-heartedly.

I continued, “You have a strong Jupiter, and your Jupiter is with a strong Sun.” I ended my conversation. The lady was surprised. Her strong/ rude tone suddenly changed to an obedient tone.

She said “Sir, you really are a great astrologer. Yes. My ascendant is Pisces, whose lord is Jupiter, and Jupiter and Sun, are in Aries. Sun is exalted in Aries.

And yes, I am make friends very easily. In today’s program, I know almost half of them personally. I have consulted many astrologers and later studied astrology myself, but I haven’t been able to get the predictions right. Hence I was of the opinion that astrology was bunkum. I will definitely change my opinion from now onwards, and I am really sorry to be rude.” I’ll not bother the readers with the rest of the incident about how she now regularly takes my professional guidance for her and her family. I will instead tell you how I gauged the strengths of planets just by looking at the person.

In this article, I’ll share how to identify the single most influential planet, and later sometime share how to analyze if there is more than one planet.

Every native displays characteristics – physical and emotional – based on the most influential planet in the horoscope. This planet is also the lucky planet for the person. There are many characteristics to be analyzed but the top ones include the size and shape of the head, skin tone, build, attitude, posture, tone, outlook to money, and ability to withstand pressure.

Lucky Sun – The person will have a rectangular and broad face, with a mild baldness. Irrespective of whether a person is a dark skinned or light skinned, the skin will show a hue of red color.

Vedic astrologers traditionally discuss children, sports, investments, romance and mantras when discussing the 5th house and these are of course true, but we miss out on the deep essence of this house which is considered the most important house in the chart. What is the secret of the 5th house?

Here is one simple method that was thought to me by my grandfather Dr B V Raman when I was about 7 years old. This method has always worked for me, and I can personally vouch for it. The method is as follows – 1. The person has to first think of a 3 digit number.

Note that three digits are important. If it is one, two, four, five etc, then this method will not work.

I used to use my school text book and randomly select a page. The page number was my chosen 3 digit number. In case I flipped to a page that had just two digits, I did it again till I got a 3 digit. Today, I have an app the randomly generates numbers at a press of a button.

2. The hundredth, tenth and the unit number represent the past, present and future. Separate the numbers, multiply them by 45 and divide this produce by 8.
