16th Annual Ohio AIM Member Conference Shared by Keith and Charlotte Thompson, AIM Chairman’s Club Directors We celebrated our 16th annual AIM Member conference on October 25-26, 2019, at the Berlin Resort in Millersburg, Ohio. A good time was had by all for what we sometimes call a family reunion! Having Members return this year with new Members was very exciting!
We appreciate all who took part and helped to make another Ohio Conference successful!
Over 180 people attended Friday’s evening event and around 150 were at the Saturday conference and catered luncheon. Our main speakers included AIM Members Reuben Barkman, Liz Walter, Dr. John Shewfelt, Joan van Rensburg, Loren and Kathleen Schiele, and Nicolas and Jessi van Rensburg, independent service providers for The AIM Companies™.
5th Annual Holistic Nutrition Seminar Shared by Dr. Yu-Shiaw Chen, AIM Chairman’s Club Director On September 28, 2019, over thirty people attended the 5th Holistic Nutrition Seminar workshop at the Educational and Cultural Center of Stony Brook, New York. An informative folder with datasheets on the fine AIM products was given to every attendee at the entrance. Dr. Yu-Shiaw Chen presented “Recipe for a Healthier You”, with an emphasis on the importance of whole food nutrition and AIM supplements. Many attendees shared their testimonials, and AIM products were available for purchase.

Dr. Chen’s newly published book “Plant-Based Whole Food Recipes” became a popular item along with the homemade, twelve course whole food luncheon. The four-hour event concluded with raffle door prize drawings. Many thanks to AIM Members Kathy Donnelly, Denise DeVito and Valentine Calcellare for co-sponsoring this event.

Hiking the Appalachian Trail Aaron Noakes spent most of the first 8 years of his life in and out of hospitals due to lung disease. He could never be outside in the night air. Then God healed him. This makes Aaron’s 189-day solo hike along the Appalachian Trail as an adult camping beneath the evening skies a testimony to His goodness. Leaving Springer Mountain, Georgia, on March 27, 2019, Aaron began his adventure. Carrying a backpack containing a tent, a sleeping bag, cooking gear and food, Aaron hiked 2,192 miles of the treacherous and often dangerous Appalachian Trail. Only 1 out of 5 hikers make it the entire way from Georgia to Maine. Climbing up and down the mountains of 14 states, Aaron navigated slippery boulders, cliffs, razor-sharp rocks, mud
bogs and rivers. On the long trail he faced insects, bears, moose, rattlesnakes and copperheads. He carried no medicine. Aaron was never sick and had no injuries, just a few foot blisters. Along the way there was a natural feast for the taking, including berries, edible plants and fish. His parents, Arthur and Barbara, AIM Star Sapphire Directors, sent several packages ahead for him to stock up on high-energy trail food. One item Aaron requested that was always included was the BarleyLife single-serving packets, easy to carry and mix while hiking. Reaching the 5,267-foot elevation of Baxter Peak on Mt. Katahdin, where the Appalachian Trail ends, Aaron finished this monumental hike on the morning of October 2. His goal had been to finish before the blizzards came.
