Disease Claims and Testimonial

 Dos

and

Don’ts

When creating newsletters, advertisements, testimonials, videos, social media posts, etc., Members need to be mindful of disease claims that could violate regulations of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and/or Federal Trade Commission (FTC). AIM wants to help you stay in compliance but reading through pages of regulations can be difficult. Below are some straightforward Dos and Don’ts to help you avoid some common faults.

2

Dos:

Don’ts:

✔ Do include wide-ranging, non-disease symptoms in your testimonials (i.e., “AIM GinkgoSense has improved my absentmindedness.”)

✘ Don’t mention a specific disease in your testimonial. (i.e., “AIM GinkgoSense has improved my Alzheimer’s symptoms.”)

✔ Do include healthy functions (i.e., “I have been able to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system since taking AIM BarleyLife.”)

✘ Don’t reference an unhealthy state (i.e., “Before using AIM, my liver was failing, but now I’m healthier than ever.”)

✔ Do use product endorsements or recommendations (i.e., “I love AIM Just Carrots.”)

✘ Don’t recommend replacing a drug or therapy with an AIM product. (i.e., “I replaced my 4 Ibuprofen with 4 Frame Essentials and don’t have knee pain.”)

✔ Do recommend AIM for support of overall health support (i.e., “I use BarleyLife every day to have a healthier diet and support my immune system.”)

✘ Don’t recommend that an AIM product can improve the function of a drug or therapy. (i.e., “I take Ibuprofen daily, but when I added Frame Essentials, it helped the Ibuprofen work better.”)

Testimonial

Mom Shines Brightly Kate Price has been taking the AIM products ever since she was five years old. She is now the mother of two beautiful children. Since graduating from school, Kate has acquired a number of qualifications. Her Bachelor of Music (jazz piano performance with first class honors) and teaching diploma allow her to work from her home in New Zealand. As an AIM Preferred Member, Kate supplements her teaching income by sharing the AIM products. This work situation lets her be a stayat-home mom for her children.

As a professional musician, mother and athlete, Kate has quite a following on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and Snap chat. Having a background in social media marketing has allowed Kate to converse easily with peers in her different circles to discuss the AIM products that she uses. Keep up the great work Kate, and we look forward to hearing about your future successes!

After the birth of her second child, Kate returned to competitive athletics, particularly off-road running and CrossFit. In the initial months of 2020, Kate won both the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge and her division in the WOF Championships CrossFit Competition. Kate relied heavily on a range of AIM products to boost and manage her nutrition to help her train and compete as well as continue breastfeeding her 12-month-old. She knows her long-term training, work and motherhood depend on having a solid base of nutritional support that includes Peak Endurance, RediBeets, BarleyLife, LeafGreens and ProPeas.

Note: AIM recommends consulting a phy sician prior to using Peak Endurance if you are pregnant or nursing.

When April Showers Bring May Flowers Along with May flowers, the heart of spring brings the budding of green growth to a pollen-releasing fury. On a yearly basis, those who react poorly to pollen may wonder if it will be a season to sneeze or not to sneeze. That is the slightly Shakespearean question. Depending on geography and weather, the release of pollen can happen even earlier in the spring. Once pollen has been sprung, the sneezing, itchy eyes and discomfort can last all summer.

Pollen Basics Originating from Latin, pollen means fine flour. Each grain of pollen that is released into the air is to pollinate and reproduce plants. If your body determines this “reproductive dust” is harmful, it defends you by releasing chemicals known as histamines. Produced by your immune system, histamines have the job of eliminating pollen from your body even if it makes you itch, sneeze and feel miserable in the process.

Natural Defense with LeafGreens and FloraFood You can fight your body’s misguided protection with the antihistamine properties of quercetin, a flavonoid that blocks the inflammatory nature of histamines. The arugula, kale, spinach and Swiss chard leaves in LeafGreens powder are sources of absorbable, bioavailable, natural quercetin. The balance and diversity of good “bacterial” bugs in your body play such an important role in keeping you healthy. A 2017 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that participants who took probiotics that combined the three strains of good bacteria in FloraFood experienced improved quality of life during the height of allergy season. 1 May flowers are meant to be enjoyed without any side effects of pollen. 1

Returning the Care With Mother’s Day falling on May 10 this year, it’s especially heartwarming to hear about adult children who return the love and care given to them by their moms. Such is the case with Mary-Ann Shearer, an AIM Chairman’s Club Director whose home is in the harbor town of Gordon’s Bay in the Western Cape province of South Africa. “I recently had to move my mom out of her apartment because she was getting too frail to look after herself. My husband, Mark, agreed with me that caring for her would be the best solution.

“My mother is 87 years old, and I have been helping her to get her health back. It has taken time, but it’s working and that’s incredible. “Along with feeding her a raw, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free diet, my mom has been taking some plant-based, wholefood concentrates, spec ifically BarleyLife, Just

Carrots and RediBeets, as well as the probiotics in FloraFood. “When my mother first arrived at our home, she could not walk at all unaided. Now, with a little assistance, she is able to go for walks up to four times a day. “One of AIM’s targeted-nutrition supplements that has helped her the most is Composure. It has kept her calm and her shaking is barely visible now. Its herbs have helped my mother to relax and sleep better, which is vital for staying healthy. It also helps me to get to sleep when my mind is too busy. “All in all, AIM has really helped to make our days with mom hap pier ones.”

Our Gluten-Free AIM For people whose bodies react to gluten intake by going into attack mode, it means having a sensitivity to a protein present in certain grains. Blood tests may reveal the presence of antibodies that indicate celiac disease, a serious autoimmune disorder that affects around 1 in 100 people around the world.

ingest contain gluten if you have a sensitivity. The same is true for the nutritional supplements you take, and AIM makes it easy to identify gluten-free choices in the catalog and datasheets and on the website and product labels. You can always contact AIM if you are unsure.

Although the symptoms of celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity are similar, with celiac disease, consuming gluten damages the small intestine, increasing the risk of toxins, bacteria and undigested food seeping into the bloodstream.

Currently, there are 21 individual, gluten-free AIM products in the USA (19 in Canada), meaning that most have tested gluten-free.

According to the Celiac Disease Foundation, adhering to a strictly glutenfree diet for a lifetime is the best option. Those who have non-celiac gluten sensitivity need to avoid this grain-sourced protein as well.

AIM offers many gluten-free options. For example, to increase fiber intake, Fit ’n Fiber is a healthy choice, providing prebiotic food for the good bacteria that help maintain gut health. BarleyLife powder delivers an easily assimilated source of plant-based nutrients. It’s good to know that there’s gluten-free nutrition that works.

Chrysalis: Your Go-To Training Platform It was just a matter of transitional time that The AIM Academy was replaced by Chrysalis, the AIMendorsed training platform for Members. This decision by AIM leadership coincided with the launch of AIM’s new website, where there is a Visit Chrysalis link in the Business tab under Income Opportunity. At the same time, Members can rest assured that the valuable training available at the AIM Academy can be found with notable improvements at Chrysalis Networx. The information has been revised and expanded upon to cover much more, making the curriculum even more relevant in today’s market. Some of the format changes are for good reason as well. With Chrysalis, you peruse at your own pace to go directly to the information you need at any given point in time. This is distinctly different from following the Academy’s systematic method to get a certification.

The Chrysalis Community

Registering with Chrysalis Networx means that Members become part of a like-minded group of leaders who share a passion for maintaining good health and growing AIM businesses. Members who join the team of Chrysalis leaders have access to a wealth of essential information and support from a compatible com munity, giving them educational ad vantages to grow their AIM businesses. Serving and educating AIM Mem bers is a major part of the Chrysalis mission. By transforming lives through inspiration and empowerment, the full potential of each AIM Member is unleashed to build a strong foundation for long-term success.

GinkgoSense:

An Ashwagandha Good Change!

The reformulation of GinkgoSense was officially announced in the February issue of Living Well magazine. Changes to the formula include the addition of ashwagandha. This revered herbal ingredient has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine in India. However, public awareness of the stress-relieving benefits of ashwagandha is fairly recent in other parts of the world.

Helping Your Body to Adapt

Ashwagandha is particularly wellknown for relieving stress due to its adaptogenic properties. Adaptogens help your body to handle all kinds of stressors that can affect your state of mind and health. Stress is directly related to cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone. As an adaptogen, ashwagandha may help to inhibit the release of cortisol from the 8

adrenal glands, assisting the body in not overreacting. When your nervous system is alarmed by excessive stress, the presence of ashwagandha in GinkgoSense helps to extend your body’s phase of resistance that allows it to adapt to the presence of stressors. As a result of its effectiveness com pared to other adaptogenic herbs, ashwagandha is on its way to becoming the next big thing in plant-based ingredients, just like curcumin, which is also a recent addition to the GinkgoSense formula. AIM goes out of its way to do its re search and occasionally make formulaic changes that naturally enhance a product’s effectiveness. Tap ping into thousands of years of ashwagandha use that even tually led to modern studies of this adaptogenic herb, AIM knew the timing was right to provide even more health benefits to Members by enhancing GinkgoSense with ashwagandha.

Healthy Cells for a Lifetime When The AIM Companies™ first introduced the Healthy Cell Concept (HCC) back in 1983, Members were given five avenues to keep their cells in good shape:

CELL concept

protec tio t• en

Thirty-eight years later, the fantastic five avenues still work at contributing support for the function, growth, repair and replication of the trillions of cells in your body. And 2020 has emphasized all too clearly the importance of the fourth avenue.

d • exer ci foo

• environm se

Food is number one, and that’s also what came first for AIM with the introduction of healthy, whole food from the juice powder of young barley leaves back in 1982.

Protection

Distributed throughout your body are different types of cells that make up your immune system. When well-functioning, your immune system protects you against infections from patho genic organisms, such as bacteria, parasites and viruses. Being able to find and eliminate these pathogens while allowing the presence of good bacteria and intake of food nutrients is part of this system’s balancing act to keep you healthy. Each of the other four avenues support your immune system: proper 10

food, regular exercise, healthy environment and positive attitude. Each factor bec omes increasingly impor tant as you age. This inevitable life process lowers the protection afforded by the immune system. However, a primarily plant-based diet, physical ac ti vity, a clean living space and psychological well-being can help to keep the immune system wellfunctioning throughout your lifetime. In other words, following the five avenues can turn the concept into a healthy cell reality.

Broccoli Sprouts Arugula

is for Cruciferous

Some of the most nutritious vegetables fall into the category of cruciferous, which means cross-bearing because the plants’ flowers are cross-shaped. LeafGreens contains the powders of 3 cruciferous vegetables: arugula, broccoli sprouts and kale. Along with being a rich source of vitamins and minerals, cruciferous vegetables contain unique, healthy plant nutrients, including flavonoids, such as kaempferol and quercetin, and an isothiocyanate known as sulforaphane. Kale

Spinach

Kale, spinach and Swiss chard top the list of leafy greens rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids that are recognized as healthy eye nutrients.

A Little Swiss Chard History In the early 1800s, Swiss settlers introduced chard to North America, which is possibly how the Swiss got added to its name. The word “chard” is traced to Latin, meaning thistle, and this leafy green’s popularity is traced back to 350 BC with its roots in the Mediterranean region.

Chlorophyll gives plants their color and helps them to produce their food. Young barley leaves contribute greatly to the 21 mg of chlorophyll in each serving of LeafGreens. 13
