Partners for Life Message

Looking Back … Moving Forward It’s the eleventh month of 2020, a year like no other in recent history. To find a close comparison, you would have to look back over one hundred years ago. In 1918, an influenza pandemic triggered by an H1N1 virus spread worldwide, infecting around 500 million people and resulting in an estimated 50 million deaths. Much of what the world’s population experienced a century ago, we are living through in the present. That’s the profoundly disturbing nature of a pandemic. Still, it’s important to keep in mind that a century ago, people made it through those horrific times. So will we. Given the necessary restrictions on movement and social interaction this year, each of us was handed a heavy block of time to contend with our thoughts and emotions, whether in the company of others or on our own. I’m certain that during this extended downtime, most of us asked ourselves the age-old question: What is truly important in life? At different periods in our lives, we’ve all had to come up with individual answers to this question, but perhaps no more intensely than this year. I’m also certain most of us answered that health is among the most important things in life. Being part of a company that aims to help people improve and maintain their health is a very good place to be these days. And Members who have made sharing AIM nutrition with others a part of their lives are doing good in a world that can use a lot more good news. Dennis Itami President and CEO The AIM Companies™ 2

Stevia: The Herbal Sweetener

There are a lot of choices out there for making things sweet, and it’s important to go for healthy options. Stevia leaves are a plant-based alternative. Native to South America, Stevia rebaudiana is a plant that has been used by indigenous people for over 1,500 years to make folk medicine and sweeten tea. In their local language, stevia translates as sweet herb. Stevia leaves contain sweet plant chemicals called steviol glycosides. In fact, they’re about 200 times sweeter than table sugar. However, stevia is non-nutritive, which means consuming it doesn’t add any calories, which are one of the many reasons to reduce sugar intake.

Safe and Sustainably Sweet

AIM selects a leaf extract of the stevia plant that delivers only high-purity steviol glycosides. The quality of all ingredients used in AIM products has to be of the highest standard possible.

References: bit.ly/SteviaSAmerica bit.ly/SteviaSweetness bit.ly/SafeStevia bit.ly/SteviaSustainability

High-purity steviol glycosides are the primary factors that make stevia leaf extract a safe ingredient in the following AIM products: BarleyLife Xtra, CoCoa LeafGreens, Fit ‘n Fiber, ProPeas and Peak Endurance. The stevia choice also means no added sugar, just plantsourced sweetness.

There are also healthy and sustainable factors in choosing stevia. Farmers in various parts of the world have switched to growing stevia instead of tobacco, which is unhealthy and environmentally unfriendly. This has been a win-win situation on many levels. For example, to produce the same amount of sweetness, less land, water and energy is required to cultivate stevia compared to sugar crops. Stevia . . . how sweet it is! 3

Testimonial

The Journey Home Shared by Marcelle Meijer, AIM Preferred Member in Pretoria, South Africa Upon my return from the U.S. 18 months ago, I was at a crossroads in my career. In search of more direction, I enrolled in a life coaching program. On this journey of discovery and soul searching, it became very clear what resonated with me and what my choice of a life path would be. When I met Joan van Rensburg, AIM Chairman’s Club Director, our mutual connection to the symbolism of the chrysalis butterfly, a love for transforming lives and an acute understanding of the value and importance of optimal health made us an instant match. I was deeply touched by the story of how AIM started, the integrity of the company and the solid, stable foundation of its 38-year-old culture. My mission to lead a life of purpose is inspired by the testimonials from people whose health has improved by taking AIM products. I can personally relate. After suffering from bloating and constipation for many years, Joan suggested the cleans ing combination of Herbal

Fiberblend, Herbal Release, FloraFood and Para 90. Taking these products had a beneficial effect, which included giving me a flat tummy. I am also using Renewed Balance and Composure, which I will continue on a permanent basis. What’s more, my daughters and I are experimenting with RediBeets, CoCoa LeafGreens, ProPeas and BarleyLife. We love incorporating them into healthy, nutritious smoothies. I have never been happier or more inspired, and I truly look forward to adding value to my amazing AIM team here in South Africa.

Blood Sugar Every morsel of food you eat goes into the manufacturing of energy. Your body uses your nutritional input and turns most of it into glucose. This sugar is transferred to cells via your blood, which is why normal blood sugar levels are so important to good health. Problems arise when sugar remains circulating in the blood instead of being channeled into cells. It’s a health situation that creates inflammation instead of energy. What should be energizing for your entire body becomes an inflammatory effect instead. Your choice of nutrition determines an extreme spike in blood sugar levels or a gradual rise and fall.

Plant-Based Blood Sugar One of the most effective ways to maintain healthy blood sugar levels is by consuming a primarily plant-based diet. That translates as fruits, legumes, nuts, vegetables and whole grains and only small amounts of meat and refined foods. Or better yet, avoid all processed foods that typically contain unhealthy fats and added sugar and have a negative effect on blood sugar levels. Going plant-based not only supports your body’s crucial production of energy, it improves and maintains your overall health on so many levels beyond blood sugar.

based intake. Leaves of barley, Swiss chard, arugula, kale and spinach along with broccoli sprouts and three kinds of cocoa supply super sources of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, chlorophyll and unique phytonutrients that work for your body, not against it. To specifically target blood sugar, AIM created GlucoChrom, a combination of trace minerals and herbs. The main ingredient is chromium, a mineral considered to be a cofactor of insulin, the hormone that helps move glucose into cells, which is the key to healthy blood sugar levels.

Support from AIM Plant-based powders, such as BarleyLife, LeafGreens and CoCoa LeafGreens, supplement a healthy diet with concentrated nutrients that enhance a plant5

Product Feature

AIMega: The Skin Essential It bears repeating: your body cannot produce the omega-3 and -6 fatty acids that are essential for good health. That means you have to get these essential fatty acids (EFAs) through your dietary intake. AIM Members who supplement with AIMega enrich their food-sourced intake with EFAs from organic seed oils. One of the many benefits is that you get a plantbased, internal cosmetic that promotes healthy skin from the inside out.

The Yin and Yang of EFAs

Generally, dietary fat has a negative image. However, certain types are vital for good health, specifically polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which are found primarily in plant-based foods and oils. Omega-3 and -6 EFAs are types of PUFAs present in AIMega. While omega-3 decreases inflam mation, omega-6 increases it. It’s an essential balancing act in the body’s inflammatory response. AIMega sup ports this balance with a 2:1 ratio of omega-3 to -6 EFAs. 6

A daily intake of AIMega helps to avoid an essential fatty acid imbalance, which can have a significant effect on skin function and appearance. AIMega’s omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) comes from the organic seed oil of flax. A daily intake of this source of polyunsaturated fatty acids has been shown to support healthy skin, decreasing roughness, scaling and sensitivity while increasing hydration and smoothness. The healthy, organic sources of omega-6 linoleic acid (LA) in AIMega are primarily from sesame and sunflower seed oils. The most abundant polyunsaturated fatty acid in the skin’s epidermis is LA, which is converted to the epidermis’ second most abundant PUFA: arachodonic acid (AA). On a final note, don’t let omega-3 and -6 terminology—EFAs, PUFAs, ALA, LA, etc.—get under your skin, but do let AIMega help to keep your skin healthy. Take The

It should come as no surprise that 2020 was a banner year for sales of natural supplements that help people to manage stress. Independent distributors of AIM nutrition will likely have noticed not only increased sales of products that help support the immune system but herbal supplements such as GinkgoSense and Composure. Both contain herbs with unique properties for calming stressed out minds and bodies. Members who primarily order products for their own use would do well by others by letting them know about the benefits of these exceptional supplements. If there ever was a time for herbal ingredients that help to manage stress, this year is it. 8

GinkgoSense

When this AIM standard was first introduced back in 2001, GinkgoSense became a regularly ordered staple in the AIM lineup. Nineteen years later, when AIM Quality Assurance introduced GinkgoSense reformulated, the key and namesake ingredient, Ginkgo biloba, remained at the forefront of this dietary supplement that supports memory and vision health. One of the new ingredients is an herb that literally helps your body to adapt to stress.

Edge Off of STRESS Adaptogenic Ashwagandha

Commonly known as Indian ginseng, ash wagandha belongs in the unique category of adaptogens, herbs that help the body to resist the possible effects of adverse situations that create stress.1 When you are under stress, your body increases the production of cortisol, the primary stress hormone that the adrenal glands release to keep the body on alert for possible dangers. One of the adaptogenic effects of ashwagandha is helping to prevent the adrenal glands from releasing cortisol when you don’t actually need it. You just need to stay calm, and ashwagandha adapts to your need.

Composure

Sometimes a name says it all: Composure. And like AIM’s selection of soothing herbs, this state of being calm and in control of yourself is desirable in the middle of difficult circumstances. Whenever you are assailed by life’s stressors, you automatically struggle to regain your composure. Taking Composure eases the struggle. When the stress of it all gets to be too much, the calming combination of herbs in Composure can help you to relax and reduce tension, both physical and mental.

It’s a fact that chronic stress is detrimental to a person’s wellbeing. Having natural support from Composure’s time-tested herbs on hand can help to interrupt the cycle of stress so prevalent during troubling times. Take passionflower as an example. As one of the botanicals in the Composure formulation, passionflower has been used for centuries as a natural way to calm and soothe nerves. One of the constituents of this herb is passiflorine, a phytonutrient that reportedly promotes calmness and induces sleep. 1

I really liked the corporate training presentation about our new GinkgoSense, which I love. I am so amazed at what it has done for my stress levels. I keep telling folks what a great product it is and that they must try it. Thanks for this brilliant change. Because I struggle to swallow too many capsules, I open two capsules of GinkgoSense and put the powder in my Garden Trio drink every morning. The taste is quite good. I have actually reduced my daily intake of Composure! This product (GinkgoSense) is amazing. Charlotte Thompson Chairman’s Club Director Dundee, Ohio

Mag-nificence CWR

• Helps with the absorption of magnesium • May help alleviate muscle soreness • Helps maintain healthy bones • Supports over 300 essential metabolic reactions

Soothing Bath Additive One of the most efficient ways to supplement your intake of magnesium is by absorption through your skin. Each time you pour 2 oz (60 ml) of Mag-nificence CWR into your bathwater, you add 4,800 mg of elemental magnesium to soak in.

No Time for Baths? The beauty of Mag-nificence CWR is that it can be applied directly to your skin, so you don’t have to be in a bath to benefit. Gently rub some on your skin anytime you need it: after a shower, before bed, following exercise, etc. For convenience, pour CWR in a spray bottle – a handy way to apply it, whether you’re at home, at work or traveling.

Swimming in the sea makes a body feel good. The absorption of magnesium chloride plays a likely role in that good feeling. Soaking in bathwater containing CWR’s magnesium chloride provides a similar positive effect. 10

If It’s Good Enough for the Ocean . . . Of all the water on our planet, 97 percent is ocean. A minimum of one million tons of magnesium is found within one cubic kilometer of sea water, making it one of the greatest sources of this essential mineral.1 The most common form of magnesium found in the ocean is magnesium chloride, the AIM choice for Mag-nificence CWR: a bit of the ocean in a bottle. 1

Celebration Notice

CELEBRATION CANCELLATION Greetings to our AIM Family: In spite of our best hopes that the world would be free of the pandemic by spring, most experts agree that this likely will not happen until later next year. With that in mind, AIM has made the difficult decision to cancel the on-site GROW 2021 AIM Celebration, which was scheduled for June 3 – 6, 2021, at the Chateau on the Lake Resort in Branson, Missouri. We know many of you will be disappointed by this news. However, our top priority is your health and safety and that of our AIM staff who work at Celebrations. AIM will be preparing a pre-recorded ‘virtual’ corporate update and product training event. AIM will also mail a print version to Members who do not access the Internet. We appreciate everyone who had already registered for the 2021 Branson AIM Celebration. Here are answers to some questions you may have: • I am paying my registration via the Auto-Pay plan. Will I receive a refund? Yes! We are refunding all Members who paid to register and notifying them by phone or email once their refunds have been processed. If you paid by credit card, please note that a refund may take up to 30 business days to appear on your credit card statement. • Do I receive any compensation for the Celebration package I earned in the Clear 2020 Vision Contest? Yes! We know you worked hard, so you will receive compensation with your November 2020 earnings paid in December. • Is AIM considering a pre-recorded virtual (online) event in 2021? Yes! It will be available online beginning June 3, 2021. More information will be forthcoming. • What about my airline reservations? Please work directly with the airline if you have made airline reservations. • Are there plans for AIM to have a contest next year? Yes! A contest is indeed being planned. • Will this cancellation have an impact on the GROW Cash Contest? No. The GROW Cash Contest continues through December 31 and the ‘earners’ will be announced in mid-January. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented global event. Our sincere hope is that our AIM Family stays healthy and safe. We look forward to a bright future for all! In Partnership for Life, The AIM Companies

Garlic Compounds

Garlic contains two primary organosulfur compounds credited with providing health benefits: L-cysteine sulfoxides and γ-glutamyl peptides. L-cysteine sulfoxides generate allicin, a chemical compound that gives garlic its distinctive odor and taste. The γ-glutamyl peptides are even higher in wild garlic leaves than in the bulbs, giving GarlicAIM’s combination of garlic leaves and two types of bulbs a healthy edge over the competition. bit.ly/Garlic_OSCs

Genus Allium

The botanical name for garlic is Allium, originating from Latin. GarlicAIM contains three types of garlic. Two are Allium sativum— the common bulb and black fermented garlic—and Allium ursinum: wild garlic leaves. This unique combination delivers all the health benefits of garlic and more.

Not available in Canada.

As far back as 3000 B.C., garlic was used for cooking food and medicinal purposes. Today, the recognition of beneficial compounds in garlic make GarlicAIM a supplemental choice for cardiovascular health.
