Childhood WEIGHT ISSUES It’s a sad fact of

modern life that so many children around the world are facing a health problem that is largely preventable: being overweight (having extra body fat) or obese (having too much body fat). The World Health Organization (WHO) presents some alarming statistics on the number of children who are affected by excess body weight:

• 41 million under the age of 5 • Over 340 million aged 5-19 WHO notes that an energy imbalance relating to calories consumed and calories burned is the underlying cause of these weight issues. Globally, people are eating more high-fat food and doing less physical activity. Both lifestyle factors have been adopted by the younger generation.

to maintaining a healthy body weight, parents need to take charge in providing direction and discipline to children so that they avoid or reverse the trend toward obesity. Giving children healthy supplemental nutrition from AIM provides nutrientdense, vegan drinks with few calories. One serving of BarleyLife or RediBeets is only 15 calories. CoCoa LeafGreens, a chocolaty favorite of kids, is just 10 calories per serving.

Overweight or obese children CoCoa usually remain so as they become adults, increasing LeafGreens their risk of the early onset ONLY of health problems such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and osteoarthritis. calories An unhealthy heaviness has no place in the life of a child.

Most importantly, AIM nutrition gives children the right kind of food for maintaining their physical shape and wellness into a healthy future. 3

The In of The history of what is good and what is not good for you has definitely had its misleading moments over the course of time. This is especially true in regard to nutrition. One claim that misled people for nearly two centuries is that fiber is not important for maintaining your health.

From the early 1800s, this essential nutrient—although not everyone agrees it’s essential or a nutrient—was termed crude fiber because it was indigestible: no energy or health benefits provided. Even the word “crude” hints at something negative about fiber. Nothing could be further from nutritional truth.

Fiber Man

A prime example is coronary heart disease, which was pretty much nonexistent in Uganda where Burkitt was based. It is now the leading cause of death worldwide. The observations and writings of Dr. Burkitt brought focus to the idea that diets low in fiber also increase the risk of many other health problems, including appendicitis, cancer, obesity and type 2 diabetes. Today, in countries where a “Western Diet” of mostly processed or fast foods with high amounts of fat, salt and sugar is popular, most people get less than half of their daily recommended 25 grams of fiber for women and 38 grams for men. Dr. Burkitt’s patients were averaging close to 100 grams of fiber daily by primarily eating plants.

Since the 1970s, f it has been Dr. Denis e Is The Leading Cause o as ise Burkitt who is primarily eath orldwide Cor D onary Heart associated with bringing the healthy facts about fiber Of course, fiber is only one of many to light.1 Based on his observations beneficial nutrients found in plantworking as a missionary surgeon in based food, providing countless natural Africa, Burkitt noted that his patients nutrients that work at keeping a body had high-fiber intakes and did not suffer healthy. the best medicine you can give your body.2

Upping Fiber Intake Eating fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts will increase the amount of fiber you get. It’s great to have simple choices in life that make such a healthy difference. And when it comes to upping your intake with supplemental fiber, AIM offers natural choices that are simply great: Herbal Fiberblend and fit ’n fiber.

Herbal Fiberblend The bottom line is that fiber is associated with bulking up stools to efficiently eliminate waste from the body. Herbal Fiberblend moves this necessary function into the realm of detoxification with carefully selected herbs blended with psyllium. For upping your fiber intake while experiencing cleanses that detoxify, choose Herbal Fiberblend.

fit ’n fiber Your choice for an everyday fiber supplement is fit ’n fiber, delivering this essential nutrient from psyllium husk, oat, apple, flaxseed, acacia and konjac. Ideal for weight management programs, fit ’n fiber also provides food for good gut bacteria: 8 grams of prebiotic fiber. Fiber is an essential nutrient that provides a variety of health benefits, and AIM makes it simple to benefit from the inner workings of fiber.

Health Testimonial

Impressed Doctor Says, “Contin Shared by Danae Songy, AIM Preferred Member from Cleburne, Texas

vegetarian. This lifelong commitment to health made my diagnosis so hard to understand. In January 2013, I was diagnosed with remitting-recurring multiple sclerosis, a chronic, typically progressive disease that damages nerve-cell sheaths in the brain and spinal cord. My symptoms included vision impairment, balance issues and numbness in my legs and hands. I have always lived a healthy lifestyle and am an aerial silk acrobat, which demands peak athletic ability and stamina. My diet has been mostly 6

During the five years I was on MS medication, I battled bronchitis at least four times a year and lost my voice, which impacted my ability as a full-time, Christian radio DJ. I also developed basal cell carcinoma near my eye. My doctor speculated it could be a result of a suppressed immune system brought on by the MS therapies. So, I was concerned not only about this terrible disease but also side effects of the medications.

nue what you’re doing” My mom and I had been praying for guidance. Around that time, an odd thing happened. My medication delivery was delayed, so I had to do without it. Then I happened to see Chairman’s Club Director Michelle Long in Walmart one day. I had known her mom, Janet Pauly, and how BarleyLife had helped her. Michelle and I talked about BarleyLife, and I decided to try it to support my immune system. My medications had yet to arrive. Fast forward seven months when I had a routine MRI in July 2018. I was really nervous about the follow-up appointment with my neurologist primarily because I never went back on my meds. Some doctors won’t see patients who don’t take the prescription medications. To be clear, I am certainly not advocating that people should go off prescription medications without checking with their health care professional. My neurologist did NOT drop me as a patient. In fact, he said I had above average brain tissue with no new brain lesions and asked me what I had been doing. I mentioned taking concentrated nutrition from a wholefood juice powder as well as eating mostly vegan, avoiding sugar and enriched-bleached flour, drinking lots of water and getting plenty of sleep. I also described my acrobatic routines and many other cardio activities.

Being so impressed, my doctor told me to continue this lifestyle and asked permission to share my story as an alternative to conventional MS therapies/medications. I was thrilled, relieved and so thankful to the Lord for answered prayers.

I give all the credit and glory to God when I say that I have not had another MS episode since 2012. I believe that BarleyLife along with a healthy lifestyle is critical and that exercise is as important as nutrition. I cannot say definitively

that BarleyLife is helping to man age my MS symptoms, especially since I was symptom-free for five years before taking it. Since starting BarleyLife, how ever, my overall health has improved. I sleep better, have more energy and no longer have menstrual cramps. I love my BarleyLife and crave it all day! My journey with AIM is just beginning. I continue to enjoy sharing BarleyLife and other AIM products with others and seeing the positive health benefits that result.

Growing in the alpine regions of Europe, wild garlic leaves are hand-picked during a one-week period in the spring, leaving the plant, Allium ursinum, firmly rooted in the ground for future growth. All of the active substances that provide so many health benefits are found in the leaves of alpine wild garlic.

Alpine Wild Garlic from Past to Present

For centuries, alpine wild garlic has been used as traditional medicine for a variety of health problems. However, studies that analyze its benefits are both rare and recent.
