A Season of Thanks Lora Wishart, Director, Tiny, ON I have been having so much fun sharing the AIM products in my neighbourhood and a few communities of the Georgian Bay area. My partner, Wholesale Member Tara Marchildon, is very creative in presenting AIM online in reels and posts. Together, we work out, chat and explore ways to grow our AIM businesses. We have been sharing in person and on social media through groups, Instagram and online vendor shows. And best of all, it’s FUN! After doing a few in-person events and networking, I am now on a local vendor list. I have also found vendor groups on Facebook for online or in-person events. This is a great opportunity to promote AIM to a wider audience and to bring awareness for a company that has been in business for 40 years. This summer, Tara and I participated in four local events, displaying AIM products such as Peak Endurance, ProPeas and BioVivify. We were meeting new people and creating friendships while assisting them in AIMing for HEALTH! Thank you AIM for sponsoring prizes, sales tools and the Pop-Up Kit for these events. I usually pack a gift basket at each vendor show. Anyone who

purchased two or more AIM products at my table would get a ballot for the drawing of the gift basket. To show appreciation for new and repeat customers, I also do a monthly giveaway to those who order from my MyAIMStore website. I always take the time to meet local business owners. Recently, I met the owner of a local bakery who runs the business independently. I created social media posts for the bakery. In return, I made protein balls with ProPeas and CoCoa LeafGreens to sample at the store and now these protein balls are on the bakery’s menu! It is a WIN-WIN partnership.

Janet Breitkreutz, Director, Sherwood Park, AB I gave all my children and grand-children the new BarleyLife Xtra Pineapple. Everyone loves it! My four-yearold granddaughter Khalia said, “What is with this juice!” She thought for sure that her mother had added juice to her daily BarleyLife drink instead of just water! Darrel and I are very thankful for the AIM products. They help us stay healthy through the pandemic. The best way to protect ourselves is to boost our immune systems by feeding our body’s cells with high quality nutritional supplements. We wouldn’t do that with anything else we trust but the AIM products, namely the Garden Trio, Herbal Fiberblend, AIMega, FloraFood and Proancynol 2000. What a powerhouse of nutritional ammunition! Testimonials should not be construed as representing results that everyone can achieve.

Eat Smart This Holiday Season The happy aspects of the year-end holiday season include Christmas parties at work, catch-up lunches with pals, and holiday feasts with the family. Over-indulging, you could experience bloating, exhaustion, and a sense of having lost all of your gains from following a healthy diet. Like most things in life, we want to strike a balance between eating healthfully and taking pleasure in the holiday season.

Stay hydrated People frequently confuse thirst for hunger, so staying hydrated is essential to prevent overeating. Drink six to eight glasses of water, or lots of herbal teas the day before and the day after a big night out. Maintaining your fluid intake is crucial because even minor dehydration can cause headaches, which, when paired with alcohol’s diuretic effects, makes it even more critical.

Don’t show up hungry Try not to arrive at a dinner or party ravenous.. Before leaving the house, consume a proteinrich shake such as ProPeas. Without protein in your system, you’ll find yourself gravitating toward the dessert table first, since protein helps to balance blood sugar.

Consider your food choices Don’t completely deprive yourself of your favourite choices but watch portion sizes and savour them slowly and thoughtfully, tasting and digesting every bite. These allow you to appreciate the flavour of the

meal and give your body the time to digest. When you hardly recall eating something, that’s a sign that you’re overeating. Pausing for a few minutes between servings can help reduce overeating. It takes our brain around 20 minutes to signal our stomach it’s full. Two excellent AIM products that can help support your health goals during the holidays are PrepZymes and BarleyLife. PrepZymes provides a unique combination of nine digestive enzymes that aid in the digestion of food and the absorption of nutrients. The leaf juice powder from BarleyLife contains essential vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and antioxidants such as lutonarin and saponarin. Together, they help alkalize the body naturally, increase overall energy and provide you with a strong foundation for good health. It is essential to keep them on hand during the holiday season.

Savour the now It’s important to focus on the relationships and memories we make throughout the holidays. You shouldn’t feel bad if you eat a little too much Christmas pudding or feel like a stuffed turkey on Christmas day; after all, you are only human. It’s unlikely that consuming more “soul” foods for a few days will have a long-term impact on your health.

Uniquely Canadian— Product and Business Forum The AIM products sold in Canada are classified into two categories – Food or Natural Health Product (NHP). The labelling requirements between the two are quite different, especially the types of claims that can be made. Let us take a thorough look.

AIM Food Products BarleyLife powder BarleyLife Xtra powder BarleyLife sample pack CoCoa LeafGreens Just Carrots ProPeas RediBeets

AIM NHP Products

A Food label must have: Claim – nutrient content claims, or general health/ function claims are permitted; e.g. barley leaf juice powder, vegan pea protein with 12 g protein per serving Nutrition Facts Table – lists the serving size, calorie per serving, % daily value of particular macro- and micronutrients, such as saturated fat, trans fat, carbohydrates, protein, potassium, iron, etc. Other info – list of ingredients, additives, allergen warnings, net weight, and best before date

?

An NHP label must have: Claim – can make therapeutic and health claims if supported with sufficient evidence and approved by Health Canada; e.g. provides constipation relief, helps lower LDL cholesterol, blood glucose health, etc. Ingredients – detailed list of the medicinal ingredients including proper and common names, source, quantity, potency, extract ratio, quantity dried equivalent and a list of non-medicinal ingredients Other info – NPN number (issued by Health Canada), recommended dosage, duration of use, potential risks, cautions, warnings, contraindications, known adverse reactions, lot number and expire date

Why do some AIM products list the calories, carbohydrates, protein and other nutrient contents on their labels and some don’t?

All AIM food products contain a Nutrition Facts Table on the product label listing the amounts of key nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Unlike food, NHP product labelling regulation does not require nutrients (carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, etc.) to be listed, since they do not contribute any calories to a person’s diet but have medicinal effects on the user. That is the reason why an NHP product label lists detailed medicinal ingredient information, usage directions and safety measures such as potential risks and warnings.
