Andhadhun Rakes China Box Office with INR 200cr in Just 13 Days Thriller drama "Andhadhun", directed by Sriram Raghavan, earned over INR 200 crore at the box office in China, the makers announced recently. The film, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte, crossed the INR 200 croremark within 13 days of its release in the country. It released on April 3 in China under the title "Piano Player". According to the makers, it is the fifth highest grossing Indian film in China after "Dangal", "Secret Superstar", "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", and "Hindi Medium". "We had no idea that our little 'experimental film' would travel so much. Experimental doesn't mean no fun. The film, I learn, is screening in both subtitled and dubbed versions in different screens. My whole team is super thrilled," Raghavan said in a statement here. The criticallyacclaimed film, produced by Sanjay Routray's Matchbox Pictures, ran successfully for over 75 days, earning over INR 100 crore after its release in October 2018 back home in India.

The first look of superstar Rajinikanth's next film titled 'Darbar' was released with the poster indicating that the AR Murugadoss directed flick could be a cop film. The poster carried a catchy punchline "you decide whether you want me to be good, bad or worse," and was splashed with paraphernalia attached to the police, including an IPS shoulder pin, a handcuff, a couple of guns and a police dog. Besides, it features a spectacled and bearded Rajinikanth. The first look also carried what seemed to be the Gateway of India in Mumbai, hinting that the story might be based in the western metropolis. Murugadoss' earlier action flick 'Thuppakki', starring top actor Vijay was based in Mumbai. This is the first tie-up between Rajinikanth and Murugadoss, whose last venture 'Sarkar' with Vijay in the lead had kicked up a row over the depiction of the ruling AIADMK's freebie schemes in an alleged bad light. Anirudh is scoring the music for the film, his successive outing with the superstar after the hit 'Petta,' whose songs went on to become chartbusters. HC Allows Input Tax Credit under GST to Realtor Making Malls
The Orissa High Court has resolved an important issue of blocked credit under the goods and services tax (GST) regime for real estate companies constructing commercial spaces for the purpose of letting it on rent or lease. The court has allowed input tax credit to a shopping mall construction company. Meanwhile, real estate companies moved Delhi High Court over a similar issue. The issue resolves around Section 17 (5) (c) and (d) of the CGST Act and similar sections under the respective state GST laws. The sections disallow input tax credit for goods and services used to build immovable property on own account. One of the interpretations was that since property given on rent or lease is owned by owners and not by a tenant or lessee, input tax credit should not be given. This interpretation was there despite the fact that GST is imposed on rent and lease. A petitioner, Safari Retreats Ltd, which is in the business of constructing shopping malls, has moved Orissa High Court challenging the tax authorities to deny it the input tax credit on construction of an immovable property which would be given on rent. The court said, "If the assessee is required to pay GST on the rental income arising out of the
investment on which he has paid GST, it is required to have the input tax credit on GST. "Meanwhile, real estate companies have petitioned the Delhi High Court to strike down the provisions of Section 17 (5) (c) and (d) of the CGST Act and similar provisions in the Delhi GST Act. The high court on Monday issued notices to the Union government, the GST Council and the Delhi government. Abhishek Rastogi, counsel for petitioners in Delhi High Court and partner at Khaitan & Co, said while the objective of the GST is seamless flow of credits, the section is against the very spirit of the GST and has accordingly been challenged. "The entire controversy resolves around the phrase 'on own account' and the rules of interpretation will come into play before deciding whether real estate players will be eligible to claim input tax credit," Rastogi said. Abhishek Jain, partner EY, said the larger outlook to the concept of input tax credit by the Orissa HC would be quite appreciative and beneficial for businesses. However, there is postive tax cost arbitrage for properties obtained on rent vis-a-vis those owned and constructed by businesses. Input tax credit is denied in case of the latter as there is no GST on the output side.

There was an issue of height for placement of screen LCR on top of LED screen. The screen height was raised to maintain the line of sight from rear of stall & balcony. As a result there was a very little space available for installing the Onyx main LCR Speakers. We had to look for the adequate size of speakers with the same specification of main LCR speakers and thus installed sound speaker JBL AM7315 which was a perfect choice for the application.

Looking at the LED Screen to the balcony rear distance, we decided to install balcony LCR for coverage in rear of balcony. Again JBL AM 7315 was an appropriate choice for balcony secondary LCR. But installing balcony LCR was a challenge, as the mounting space was available only on the ceiling in front of the balcony. Looking at the service point of view for flying LCR, we decided to go for the Motorized Chain Hoist for each speaker. So the LCR speakers can be brought down by simple control for servicing.

For LCR coverage under balcony area, we had installed LCR fills under balcony using JBL AC28 speakers. With a limitation of space due to the revised size of the screen frame, there was no place to mount subwoofers on the floor under the screen. Thus, subwoofers were relocated on the sides of the screen, i.e, 3 nos. subwoofer stack on the left side of the screen and other subwoofer stack on the right hand side of the screen." –

B K Vasudeva Rao, was built during 1958 in an area of 44000 sq. feet; screening the Dev Anand film "Kaalapani" for its inaugural with an admission rate of two annas. The entire area was then taken over during September 1970 by Sri. D N Gopalakrishna, managing partner M/s Lakshminarayana Enterprises, Bangalore. Suchitra Theatre took shape in the same premises, adjacent to the Prabhat Theatre during 1976 with the initiation of Sri. D N Goplakrishna, by screening Dr. Rajkumar's movie "Bahaddur Gandu". With malls and multiplexes coming into existence for cinema exhibition, the audience are more inclined towards multiplexes, thereby the number decreasing for single screens. Secondly, the competition with exhibitors who wish to screen sundry movies in their screens and last but not the least, the screening of same movie in many screens in the same locality / city have the major challenges faced. How has the response been post the steadfast renovation worked upon the theatres? Over a period these single-screens have been out dated in terms of technology and comfort. The renovation has taken care of these two aspects. Since the decline of demand for the single-screens by the audience has started long back, the recouping of the theatres will take
some time. However we are seeing the increasing audience after the renovation. Any future plans? We would continue the existing standard with thorough and regular maintenance and upgrade projection, sound system and other equipments on timely basis as and when upgraded in the market.
