Things You Need To Know How to Enroll

Go to www.barstowschool.org/summer Click on the “Register Now” tab located on the Summer at Barstow webpage. By clicking on the “Register Now” tab, you will be taken directly to the registration system.
Set up your online account After logging in, you are ready to build your summer camp experience. • New families – Register as a “First-Time User” • Returning families – Register as “Returning User” by entering your previous username and password*
Register for camps Follow the on-screen instructions to register each child individually. Camps are designed for the grade your child enters in the fall.
Required camper information Enter emergency contact information and medical information.
Lunch
Catered lunch is available to full-day campers for $25 per week. Please note: If your child has any food allergy and/or special dietary needs, we strongly encourage you to bring a lunch to camp. Our menu is subject to change.
Extended Care Service
Extended Care is offered for campers preschool through grade 8. Our program is staffed by Summer at Barstow instructors and teaching assistants. Campers participate in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, board games and LEGO building. Campers are divided into two age-appropriate groups. Preschool through Kindergarten campers enjoy activities in the Babbitt Media Center, while campers in grades 1–8 gather in the Lisa Schultz Dining Hall. AM Care is offered from 7:15–8:45 am daily, after which campers are escorted by staff to their camp meeting place. PM Care is offered from 3:30–6:00 pm. If you are unexpectedly late or delayed in picking up your children, they are escorted by staff to Extended Care at 3:45 pm.
Things to keep in mind • Password Assistance – If you don’t know your username or password, there is a link on the registration page to request this information via email. • Accepted Forms of Payment – Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Visa. A 2.75 percent convenience fee is assessed at check out. Electronic check (e-check) processing is available at no cost. • Fees – All camp fees are due at the time of enrollment. There is a one-time nonrefundable $25 enrollment fee per camper. • Online Account – You may access your online account 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

See what it’s like to create a food blog post from start to finish. Start off by brainstorming a recipe idea; from there, campers will create the recipe, cook it and learn some tips and tricks on how to style the food so that it looks picture perfect. Of course, once their dish is camera ready, the next step is to photograph it. We’ll learn what angles work best and how you can position food in the best light possible to get that perfect shot. The last piece of the process is the story. Farm to Table June 26–30. . . . . . . . . 9:00–12:00. . . . . . . Grades 1–3 What better way to learn about food and cooking than to go straight to the source? Learn from local farmers how the food we eat goes from their farm to our dinner tables. Your camper’s week will start off with a day trip to the berry farm where they can pick raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. The next day, we’ll head back to the kitchen where the campers can create their own culinary masterpiece with their goodies. Later in the week, we will make our way to the local Farmer’s Market where campers talk to farmers about how they grow their produce and learn all about locally sourced food. Campers will pick out ingredients the next day which we’ll use to create a four-course meal for the class. This camp is a must-take summer camp full of ice cream trivia, ice cream tasting, homemade ice cream and a field trip to a local frozen dessert shop. About Early Childhood Camps Mini and Kindi Camp provide campers with an environment to grow physically, socially and emotionally. Early childhood professionals engage campers in a balance of independent and group activities to develop skills for successful integration into preschool through Kindergarten. Mini and Kindi campers have a 4:1 camper-to-staff ratio. Our Early Childhood camps provide a caring, nurturing and supportive environment for each camper. Mini campers must be at least three on or before June 1 and be pottytrained to enroll.

Mini Camp
Kindi Camp is an exciting adventure for campers entering Kindergarten. The environment of Kindi Camp provides opportunities for social and individual growth. Through activities including a variety of science experiments, math lessons, art projects, language arts exercises, music instruction, water play and more, campers will learn important transitioning skills that they will need for Kindergarten. Weekly themes will drive hands-on activities and special guests.
Mini Camp is an engaging and active atmosphere for three-and four-year-old campers. Join us for a new theme each week for half or full days. Campers will enjoy a balance of organized and self-directed activities including art projects, stories, songs, water play and quiet/rest time. Weekly activities include visits from firefighters, farm animals, balloon artists, The Kansas City Zoo, Puppet Masters and more.
