hope and direction in the future. Well, we all hope so anyway. we’ll just have to wait and see. May the best team win as they say. We are not sure how much of an effect the elections will have on the period’s nightlife activities but I imagine that the normal procedure of a high police presence will ensue. Probably meaning bars, clubs and karaoke joints will possibly be closing earlier – you will have to keep an eye out on that one.

There are a number of interesting shows coming our way though and once the elections are over in the second week of April, I have the impression the city will be buzzing like never before. The Beat has a number of events coming up. The Hottest Girl Roadshow is coming over the next few months starting at Balboni restaurant and bar in Kota Kasablanka Mall on Friday April 25. That should be fun with lots of audience participation as well as the hottest girls in town strutting their stuff. Also in April, we are starting The Beat Room in Kemang. This concept comes from a similar event The Beat holds in Bali every week, showcasing new and old bands of all styles of music, basically giving them a platform to perform in stylish surroundings. Fez Dungeon is an excellent and tasteful venue in Kemang and should be a great spot to present The Beat Room. It kicks off with Marcel Thee’s band, Sajama Cut on

SCOOP Bar Pro Flair Challenge 2014 The 5th Bar Pro Flair Challenge will be held at the Foundry no.8, on April 7. The competition will between bartenders from Jakarta and other cities in Indonesia. Qualifying will be held from 1pm and finals will be held at approximately 10pm. The champion will represent Indonesia at the Asian Bar Pro Flair Challenge Final in South Korea on June 1. After the competition, Bar Unity Pro will also hold a Hospitality Gathering with performances from DJs such as Reza Bukan, Bar Unity DJs, Unity Bar dancers, and a special flair show by Unggul and Yesaya.

Europe On Screen 2014 Europe on Screen is a European Film Festival in Indonesia. The festival aims to introduce and promote films produced by various European countries in Indonesia. This year, Europe on Screen will be held on May 11 to June 2. About 70 European films in the series will be screened. The screenings will not only take place in Jakarta, but also Aceh, Bandung, Denpasar, Makassar, Medan, Padang, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta. Europe on Screen 2014 will be held in cooperation with the Institut Francais-Indonesia and Rumah Ide Makassar. There will also be a short film competition. www.europeonscreen.org

Miku Expo Crypton Future Media announced that it is hosting “Hatsune Miku Expo” to promote the creative culture of Hatsune Miku, a virtual singer developed by the company, to the world. Hatsune Miku is a futuristic voice synthesizer software that is designed to allow users to easily create vocal parts from scratch just by entering a melody and lyrics. The music software was developed by Crypton Future Media. At the expo many kinds of creations using Hatsune Miku will be presented. There will be an exhibition of works by creators, corporate booths to promote Japanese electronics, food, clothes and toys and a concert by Mikupa Team. The expo will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center’s Cendrawasih Room, Indonesia on Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday May 29.

SCOOP The hottest girl roadshow is coming soon OPENING After the success of the Hottest Girl Contest last year, the contest is now going national. Heats will be held in September and October in Bali, Surabaya, Bandung and Jakarta, with the final in Jakarta to take place in November. Jakarta Highland Gathering 2014 The Jakarta Highland Gathering consists of a series of events which together make the single largest event which is expected over 8000 people. The event will held May 14-18 at The Island at Imperial Golf Club. It will also be held at JHG Golf on May 14, Scotland in Concert on May 16, The Gathering on May 17, and Kid’s Charity Day on May 18. The main gathering includes bagpipers and drummers, the Heavies, the Victoria Axemen, an all-day dance stage, over twenty restaurants and pubs, all-day entertainment at the Food Festival, a dedicated Kid’s Area, football and rugby competitions, kid’s races, a well subscribed 5k race, the strongest man competition and teen adventure challenge and the Harley Parade.

Extreme World Tour Do you remember the timeless song ‘More Than Words’ by Extreme? T Yes, Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Badger and Kevin Figueiredo are back. Throughout the career, the band’s five albums including Full Extreme (1989), Pornograffitti (1990), III Sides to Every Story (1992), Waiting for the Punchline (1995), and Saudades de Rock (2008). Extreme reached the peak of their success with their album Pornograffitti in 1990, which reached number 10 on the Billboard 200, and received double platinum in October 1992. 10 Questions side from making an excellent OST for The Raid (an Indonesian action movie with international critical acclaim), Sigmun also recently made headlines for not being able to fulfill an invitation to play in one of the world’s most important film and music festivals, SXSW (South by Southwest), simply because they were denied of their US Visas. TBJ got in contact with the band to hear more about their story. Formed in April 2011, Sigmun is the all-round Indonesian indie rock band. Sigmun is Haikal Azizi (vocal/guitar), Nurachman Andika (guitar), Mirfak Prabowo (bass) and Pratama Kusuma Putra (drums). Their music is mainly influenced by the two founding fathers of heavy metal, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. 1. What are some of your memorable performance moments. Tons! One time we made our own event on Moko Hill (Bandung’s highest point) and we

had to lug all of our equipment up there, but it was all worthwhile with the crowd having a blast. When we were touring to Malaysia we were entertained with the fact that the mosh pit was filled with a ton of girls! In Singapore we were amazed with how professional the crew were. 2. You label your genre as Freud Blues Rock. What in the world is that? It’s actually just something we made up! The idea came when we were confused to describe our genre on our Facebook page, so we thought we might as well make people curious about it. 3. What are some misconceptions about the band that you’d like to clarify? Our listeners would approach us after we play a set and would praise how deep and mesmerizing our music is, and would ask what we were high on to produce that kind of music. The fact of the matter is we play sober and only drink mineral water before each gig. By the way, we are by no any

The project was actually first offered to our seniors, The SIGIT. But due to some technicalities they couldn’t take up the project. Coincidentally, Rekti (The SIGIT’s frontman) was currently helping us record some tracks and he told us to send a demo to The Raid producers. Lucky for us they liked it.

7. What are some of the band’s goals and dreams? Our short term goal is to finish up on the album, it’s been taking too long. We hope to tour around Indonesia and then to play in small, raw venues around the world. 8. What are the band’s proudest moments We get a kick in just having the opportunity to play in many places, meeting and playing with fellow musicians that we respect. Besides, we’re into music not because we’re after achievements or fortune haha..

5. How do you guys keep busy lately? We’re currently working material for our new album. At the same time we’re taking on lesser shows to focus on finishing the album.

9. Who is your typical listener? Our typical listeners are long-haired rocker dudes haha… but lately it’s becoming more variable, with a few perfumed chicks in the crowd.

6. Tell us about this album. There’s not much to tell as it is still a work in progress. We are experimenting with new sounds, because we don’t want to be stuck in a particular music color.

fter passing through a short ‘hiatus’ out of the limelight, Tektona with a new lineup, Oland (Vocals), Amenk (Bass), Heru (Guitar), Abew (guitar) and Aca Sinaga (Drums), is back again in 2014 with a self-titled debut album which was released recently at the Rolling Stone Cafe. The first single from the album was the catchy “Kau Menghilang”, about how to keep upbeat despite having to miss people we love. This Milhard Rofan’s creation has been receiving a lot of radio airplay throughout Indonesia. Tektona are trying to put a bit of fun into the local music industry and since they will be helping to kick off the new live music room organised by us (The Beat) called The Beat Room at Fez Dungeon, we thought it would be a great time to find out a little more from these young rockers.

How long have Tektona been together? We’ve been together since March 2012, but due to frequent personal changes, we really formed in 2013. How did you meet? The original members met in one of the largest websites in Indonesia, Kaskus, but new members have come from friends in the music community and socially. What were your greatest influences when you were growing up and what are they now? In music, the band was influenced by Incubus, Switchfoot, Foo Fighters, Angels and Airwaves, Stereophonics, Radiohead, Coldplay...etc. But most of all our influence is from God. I listened to the CD after the launch at Rolling Stone and thought that you guys sounded a lot like early Dewa 19. Would you agree? Wow! It’s a pleasure to hear that… maybe

because there are songs in terms of arrangement similar to Dewa 19. But I don’t think overall it’s so much. Tell me about the CD. How did that come about and what’s happening with it now? The CD titled Tektona contains eight tracks. The album was released in March at Rolling Stone Cafe Kemang and is now distributed to all music stores. There was a hiatus for the band. What was that all about? Tektona had indeed experienced a break as we had lost our guitarist and lead vocalist. But with much support from our fans, finally we were reborn with a full format and more solidness. Where have you played before, have you toured the country? We have radio toured some areas, and for performances, we’ve had many performances at various events, but the most memorable moment was for a Sinabung charity event.

How is the single “Kau Menghilang” going on the charts and radio? We spread the single “Kau Menghilang” to many radio stations around Indonesia. And we got positive responses. Many people are requesting the song on the radio and now it’s made the charts. What’s the next move, where do you think you will be this time next year? We are still pushing the promo album that we released last month and hopefully next year we can find more success and release a new single sometime soon. What can people expect from you when you play at The Beat Room at Fez Dungeon? I not sure what people can expect from us. But we can promise the performance will be a good one. And our hope is everybody at The Beat Room at Fez can join in the fun.

The political parties will be scrutinised in this election like never before

HOW

many weekend traffic jams have you endured in Jakarta just recently as a result of street campaigning by a political party in the run-up to the legislative elections in early April? For the time being, put aside the notion that weekends can provide a temporary escape from the capital’s customary macet. That is precisely the time the political parties step up their activities for it’s when party workers have the free time to help them out and supporters are able to attend rallies. The PDI-P’s last-minute announcement, only two days before campaigning officially began, that Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo would be its presidential candidate seems to have galvanised all of the parties, with much rethinking and re-strategizing now dominating the proceedings. The announcement has also given a boost to the rupiah exchange rate and the Jakarta composite stock index. Rarely has one candidate been so obviously the front-runner for the coveted position, according to multiple opinion polls, although there are still three and a half months before the presidential election in early July. However, being the front runner by such a large margin is not always the automatic advantage it may appear to be: Hilary Clinton was in a similar position when she initially decided to run for the US presidency back in 2007 but we all know what happened in the end. In the four years since the last election, an entire generation of social media-savvy voters has come of electoral age and will be voting for

the first time: There are almost 22 million of them (that’s more than the entire population of many of the world’s nations) and they account for almost 12 percent of Indonesia’s registered electorate. In this more transparent era they are accustomed to speaking their mind and will not take kindly to having the wool pulled over their eyes. All of the parties and hopefuls will need to factor into their campaigns that the newbies will be looking to support candidates who have a clear strategy and vision, and leaders who have capabilities and experience, regardless of age. The focus will be shifting to who might be the running-mate for Jokowi and who would become the new deputy Jakarta governor should he be elected president. Interestingly, should Jokowi be successful, for the first time ever, the new president and Jakarta governor could be former work colleagues. This assumes that Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, the current deputy governor, who would become governor if Jokowi is elected, is not elected as vice president in his own right. One area in particular worth a mention is the massive upscale housing complex Pantai Indah Kapuk, located near the Soekarno-Hatta airport. On Jalan Marina Indah - the complex’s twokilometer main road and the connecting PIK boulevard is a one-of-a-kind dining options that can be found left and right. Getting to PIK is quite easy, just take the usual toll road to the airport and as you exit the Jakarta Inner Ring Road and enter the airport toll road, simply watch out for the PIK toll road exit. Hops and Malt Bar and Bistro Its location might not be too convenient for the passersby to notice, but for the regulars here, Hops & Malt is a cozy pubstyle place to hang out, with reasonably priced cocktails and an offering of international food options. Considering that their main catch is a bar meant for drinks and light bites, the main courses here are surprisingly good. One item in particular that keeps on being ordered by patrons is the chicken steak. Live music and the occasional DJ are ready to entertain patrons all night long in its outdoor area. If you want to get out of your seat and interact with your buddies, the joint also provides beer games such as beer pong, beer darts and beer roulette. This establishment is one of the few places within the vicinity that remains open till late night (it starts to get busy after 9pm), and spoils its guests with a plentiful beer selections.

Rati Rati Aside from bars and restaurants, Pantai Indah Kapuk hosts a number of establishments specialising in sweet treats, and one that stands out is Rati Rati. Run by a Japanese patissier, Rati Ratiâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s specialty is Japanese roll cakes. So good is the patissier, he has even won several patisserie competitions in Japan. Aside from the patissier, the ingredients used here are also flown in from Japan, all the while preserving its authentic Japanese taste. They promise that the roll cakes are made from natural ingredients and ensure low calories and cholesterol. Unlike the usual roll cakes, Rati Rati offers truly soft and smooth textured roll cakes, with a healthy dose of filling and ice cream on the side to match. The cake shop has both indoor and outdoor areas, with colorful artificial macaron tower displays here and there.

Easter is approaching soon, I cannot help but anticipate what the Aula Simfonia Jakarta will present in their program this year. For the last few years, I have both criticised and complimented their program. Criticism mostly on how heavy the program is with Christian themes and compliments for finally opening up and presenting their audience with a larger variety in their program. For this Easter, I am giving them compliments. After a few years of having a rather “religious” Easter program, Aula Simfonia Jakarta with their resident Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra and Jakarta Oratorio Society under the lead of Dr. Stephen Tong as conductor, has finally chosen a charming program for this year. With Handel’s Messiah (only the famous part two and three of course) as the only “religious” orientated music, the rest of the program is actually very enjoyable to see. Two concertos of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons: Autumn and

Winter will start the concert. It is a rather unusual choice, as Easter time is also the time we welcome spring! Nevertheless, I am happy to see this as the Autumn and Winter part of this work is hardly ever being performed together. Composed in 1723 by Antonio Vivaldi, The “Four Seasons” is his bestknown work and is among the most popular pieces in the classical music repertoire. The texture of each concerto is varied and resembles its respective season. My favorite concerto: Winter is peppered with silvery pizzicato notes from the high strings, calling to mind icy rain. The solo violin in this concerto is just ravishing! Surely it would be great to hear these two concertos in springtime. Aside from the Vivaldi’s pieces, the Easter program will also feature Brahms most artistic yet enigmatic work: Symphony No. 3 in F major, Op. 90. Written in 1883 at Wiesbaden six years after he completed the 2nd Symphony, Brahms wrote this symphony which is the shortest of his four symphonies.

Influential music critic Eduard Hanslick said, “Many music lovers will prefer the titanic force of the 1st Symphony; others, the untroubled charm of the Second, but the Third strikes me as being artistically the most nearly perfect.” Brahms Symphony No. 3 is a rather large composition for Dr. Stephen Tong to work on with his baton over the orchestra. It will take a lot of his musicality as well interpretation to master each movement. Thus, it will be interesting for the audience to see and enjoy such a great symphony. A group of great soloists from around the region are also invited to sing Handel’s “Messiah”. Tenor Jae Wook Lee from South Korea, soprano Cecilia Yap from Malaysia, alto Anna Koor from Singapore and baritone Noel Azcona from Philippines are great voices from around the region. It is the first Easter that I’m actually really excited with the Aula Simfonia Jakarta program.

The list of musicians who owe Pharrell Williams a favour or two must be pretty long by now. After all, here’s a man who’s rarely put a foot wrong in the production business, possessing a Midas touch that has bolstered the career of many an artist. Despite this, he’s never quite made his mark with a solo album, so it comes as something of a surprise at the apparent ease in which his second LP, Girl, has come to fruition. At 40 years of age, the imp-faced ghetto hipster (gipster?) has finally nailed it. This is it. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Girl will be one of 2014’s biggest hits, and yes I know it’s only March. Much has been made of the alleged sexism in last year’s collaboration with buddy Robin Thicke, and although Girl has its moments of dubious taste (see: “Gush”), it does feel like a carefully conceived antidote to the somewhat ‘rapey’ “Blurred Lines”. Here, the emphasis is arguably more celebratory than misogynistic, meaning that Williams manages to avoid falling into the creeper territory of known sex pests like R. Kelly or Chris Brown. Whatever the agenda, Girl is a record that fires out good vibes like some kind of happiness minigun, stuffed with polished beats, tight samples and luxurious breaks, that owe much to late 70s and 80s pop & funk. “Let’s all dance, and elevate each other” he enthuses on “Marilyn Monroe”, adding “You are the feelin’ I’m jamming too” on the Justin Timberlake duet “Brand New”, and that’s before we even get to “Happy” – the insanely catchy and effortlessly upbeat single released last year for animation movie Despicable Me 2. Currently lording it at the top of every chart that matters, the happy clappin’ Motown tone is simply irresistible, and crucially manages to appeal to all ages. The album’s numerous high profile collaborators are wisely deployed, and provide many of the best touches - notably the ever wonderful Alicia Keys on the R’n’B bop of “Know Who You Are”, and Miley Cyrus taking a well earned break from her busy twerking schedule to lend a hand on the mojo-workin’ “Come Get it Bae”. Elsewhere the bongo rumble of “Lost Queen” is a charming paean to femininity full of awkward chat-up lines (“What planet are you from girl, are there others like you there?”), while the airy disco of “Gust of Wind” sounds like a Quincy Jones cut from the late 70s. Everything here is just magic, and after 20 years in the game making everyone else sound good, it’s nice to see him shining solo for a change. Dan Ashcroft

The Missing Picture Documentary. Director: Rithy Panh. Writer: Rithy Panh, Christophe Bataille (commentary). Cast: Randal Douc (narrator for original French version), Jean-Baptiste Phou (narrator for English version). In 1975 life was a nightmare for Rithy Panh, the director of this film. His family and relatives were expelled from the Cambodian capital by the Khmer Rouge led by Pol Pot. So, here, Panh recreates a missing image of the atrocities made by the despotic regime in the late 1970s by using clay figures, archival footage and his insightful narration to make one of the most tantalizing documentaries ever made out of Cambodia. It won the “Un Certain Regard” prize at Cannes last year and was a nominee for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards. That surely speaks volume of this film’s quality.

OMAR Drama, Thriller. Director: Hany Abu-Assad. Writer: Hany Abu-Assad. Cast: Adam Bakri, Samer Bisharat, Waleed Zuaiter, Leem Lubany. From the director of Golden Globe-winning Paradise Now, this movie revolves around the theme of love, friendship and betrayal, a theme we are so used to. After getting arrested for the death of an Israeli soldier, a young Palestinian freedom fighter called Omar is given a tough choice of being a spy for the Israeli authority or death. This is Hany Abu-Assad’s latest movie which delves into the reality faced by those on the front lines of the conflict has clinched the Jury Prize in the “Un Certain Regard” section of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and was a nominee at this year’s Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Jiseul Drama, History, War. Director: O Muel. Writer: O Muel. Cast: Lee Kyeong-joon, Hong Sang-pyo, Moon Seok-beom, Yang Jeong-won. This movie recounts how the US and the nationalist Koreans erased any trace of communist rebels in the country. In the midst of the island’s bitter cold in 1948, some 120 villagers are fleeing into a cave for their very own lives as the US soldiers hunt and execute anyone in sight. With severe cold and hunger to cope with for 60 days, the villagers’ only hope is that the occupation will end soon. This black-and-white film which has won the World Cinema Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival not only offers us a detailed look into the tragedy but also invites us to ponder on our humanity and to stay resilient in any troubles we might be facing.

Every season always includes a standout collaboration that leaves tongues wagging for the next one, and these limited-edition collections tend to sell out very quickly — just ask anyone who wanted something from the Riri Hearts MAC collection. News of a new collaboration certainly has me salivating: this summer, MAC will release a limited-edition collection with Lorde. Yep, the very same musical wunderkind of the pop world whose hair I’ve already fawned (and continue to covet) over. ight around Valentine’s Day, Kérastase released a new range of hair care products bottled in a light pink packaging. This range, called Cristalliste, is targeted specifically at young women to resolve the most common hair problems faced by the 1825 age group. It’s a basic four-step range which includes two different kinds of silicone-free shampoos (one for fine hair and another for thick hair), a conditioner, hair mask, and serum to address the two major hair issues: oily scalps and damaged ends. The first thing you notice from this line is the scent: it’s nothing like what Kérastase has released before, being so fresh and floral to the point of giddiness. I mean it’s a nice scent, but it also reminds me of glitter-infused body sprays, bubble gum, and all the Bath & Bodyworks products that appealed to me as an 18-yearold college freshman. So while the scent has definitely been fine-tuned for the younger set, it is perhaps a little too young for my taste. My personal favorite items out of the bunch have to be the Masque Cristal and Lumiere Liquide: the Masque Cristal is a lightweight mask formulated to be applied on towel-dried hair and left on for 5-10 minutes before being rinsed off. The Lumiere Liquide, meanwhile, is a hair serum meant t o be used as a finishing touch to add shine to dry ends. The texture is super light and non-greasy, similar to what you would experience with the L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil. One pump is enough for my short, thick hair, and I keep a bottle of it on my desk for a quick touch-up on my tresses before running off to meeting or an event.

The shampoo and conditioner didn’t do much for my hair — but then again, my hair is extremely thick and chemically processed (twice-bleached, colored, and highlighted). I can imagine it doing well on virgin hair, but you’re better off sticking to other Kérastase ranges for more specific issues. he Shangri-La Hotel is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. B.A.T.S. (Bar and Restaurant At The Shangri-La) was established a year later, in 1995. Since then it has become a popular and lively hangout place for drinks, good live bands, and Americanised portions of delicious Western dishes.

After office hours on a recent rainy midweek, my dear friend Clarissa and I decided to check B.A.T.S. out again. It’s been quite a long time since we came here last. Well, the place hasn’t changed much (Why mess with a good thing?). B.A.T.S. brings New York underground vibes with an industrial look of exposed brick walls and ceiling that’s pretty much part of the charm. Cartoon paintings of loyal patrons over the years adorning the walls add a nice, friendly touch. Some of our friends joined us there, and we started digging through the menu. Some Martinis (144k) got our conversation going nicely, then we shared the B.A.T.S. Tower For Two (105k); a combo of Mexican starters of baked nachos, chicken flautas and cheesy quesadillas. At first glance, Balboni sounds, and looks, like just another pleasant Italian restaurant. The island bar welcomes you as you step in, providing a nice focal point. The signature cocktails are perfect for a drink with friends after work. The open kitchen and the grocery racks add a casual and friendly vibe to the place.

A striking feature of the restaurant is the outdoor area, perfect for al fresco dining on a nice evening. It is also a great place to hold events. There are plenty of antipasti, bruschetta and salad options to start your meal. But after the basket of complimentary freshly baked bread (which was excellent), we decided to start with a bowl of Minestrone Soup (40k); a hearty, traditional Italian vegetable soup, with a crispy bread on top. The soup just makes you warm and fuzzy inside. The homemade pastas are also worth a try, like the Beef Lasagna (80k) and the Gnocchi Ai Quattro Formaggi (85k), both are as delicious as they come.

FOOD with pizza or pastas and topped with Sri Lankan toppings. Mmm… we’ll come back and try them next time. Back to the Italian specialty, we highly recommend the Mango Tiramisu (60k). This could just be the best tiramisu creation in town! Love it! And smoothies like the Strawberry and Pineapple along with the Lychee and Kiwi (55k each) are very refreshing drinks to balance your savory meal. Our favorite main course, though, is the Tonno Al Sesamo (125k), or char-grilled tuna with sesame, grilled vegetables, and rocket salad. The fish is really fresh, and well complemented by the sesame and the magnificent special sauce.

Nikon has unveiled the newest addition to its 1 series of cameras: the 1 V3. Aimed at enthusiast photographers, the V3 improves upon the formula of the outgoing V2 with an improved 18.4 megapixel sensor and new image processing chip. Additional features include built-in WiFi, 1080/60p video capture and slow motion video capture at 720p resolution. There’s also a tilting 3″ LCD touchscreen and the choice of two new 1 NIKKOR lenses: a 10-30mm f/3.55.6 PD-Zoom and 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6. In continued contribution to the wearable tech conversation as prompted by devices like Google Glass and Samsung Gear, new information regarding Google‘s LGproduced smartwatch has surfaced. News of the watch, which still has yet to be officially named, comes ahead of the tech giant’s I/O developer conference in June. So far, we know that the smartwatch will fashion a convenient 1.65 inch IPS LCD display with 280 x 280 pixel resolution. Said to run on Google’s equivalent to Apple’s Siri, the device will also feature 512mb of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. While other details such as the processor and battery type are yet to be reported, look for more information on Google and LG’s forthcoming project ahead of its projected summer announcement.
