Apollo

Indochine

S

With the presence of Ramadan, many of Jakarta’s clubs decided to close; some used that time to let their hair loose for a while, whilst some took that period to give themselves a face lift. Some decked out major renovations, whilst some chose to make small additions or change certain elements of the interior. Here are some clubs which you might see a slight change in since Ramadan.

Apollo Bar & Lounge

This alternative club located at Belaggio Mall, has gone through a slight interior redesign. The DJ Booth which used to be beside the stage has been moved to the center, adjacent to the sofa across from the bar. The new DJ Booth location, offers a much wider area for the DJ’s to spin out their tracks with extra room for their gear.

Vintage X2

IndoChine

Regular patrons of IndoChine will be in for a surprise, as things have been given a shake-up. The restaurant area has swapped places with the club area, creating a larger space for the club, which now connects with the beach club area. With the shift of the restaurant area, it has now been connected with the outdoor section of Siem Reap. The club’s sound system has also been updated to accommodate the new larger area.

X2

This club has gone through a massive and pretty nifty redesign, especially for its entrance area. Main spots Equinox and X2 have not changed much, but Vintage has gone through a major reconstruction. Pier9 Restaurant has been joined with Vintage into one area, now connecting them to X2. This new layout will give three entrance points to those heading to X2.

2nd Floor Dine & Lounge

This club is also currently undergoing a major make over. The lower and upper sections of this club that were once unconnected are now being united, becoming a merged part of 2nd Floor. Fans of the restaurant’s tasty delights need not fret as no changes have been made to the menu. If all goes according to plan, the second floor of 2nd Floor will be fully operational by October.

pop. Sebentuk fenomena “ajaib”, tentu saja. Sejak peluncuran karya perdana berupa EP Bangkutaman pada tahun 2000, album Love Among The Ruins (2003), album mini Garage of the Soul (2005), serta beberapa EP dan single lainnya, semua digiati secara swakelola.

This group are originally from Jakarta, but they started their career when they went to university in Yogya; the name Bangkutaman taken from a place in their University in Yogyakarta where they used to write poems and talk to each other, sharing their musical interests. Their brilliant reputation came not only from their well-written songs, but also their intense spirit of Do-It-Yourself, which is quite abnormal for a pop band to adopt—and force—into this underground ethos. With its current formation, (J. Irwin (guitar), W. Nugroho (vocals, bass, harmonica), D. Eryanto (drums)), the band sing about the dynamics of the city, the business-as-usual of Jakarta life, and how they adapt to the new chapter: the natural transformation from being university students to 9-to-5 people. Don’t miss their performance in Kick Andy, Metro TV, October 1st, 9.30 PM Jakarta time. Or visit their Facebook page by writing “bangkutaman” in its search column.

F

or those of you who follow this column religiously, you must be aware of a new TV Show called “Indonesia Mencari Bakat (Indonesia Talent Search) at Trans TV that I have been raving about in recent The Beat Jakarta editions. It’s a new TV program that is aiming to showcase the best of Indonesian talent from all over the archipelago. In just 4 months of being on air, Indonesia Mencari Bakat has become #1 in the talent show category, according to AGB Nielsen. New stars are born on this show and some of them surprisingly have come from classical music backgrounds. Finalists such as duo Janice and Ryan (who plays 4-hand piano fantastically) and tenor singer Lius Firdaus from Jakarta, successfully survived the semi final, together with twelve other acts. However, like a true talent competition these days, one by one, the acts are subjected to the elimination process and leave us with only six finalists competing to be the winner of the 1st Indonesia Mencari Bakat. One of those is none other then a 12 year old girl, who looks and sounds like an angel. Her name is Putri Ayu.

048 | beatmag.com

feature Coming all the way from Medan in North Sumatra, Putri Ayu Silaen is a little girl with a gifted voice. Who would ever imagine that a girl this young could sing challenging songs such as “Time to Say Goodbye” or “The Prayer” flawlessly like a pro. On a recent interview opportunity, Putri told me that she used to sing pop songs and participate in singing contests, which she won most of the time. However, her affair with operatic singing started when she represented North Sumatra on “Pesparawi” (Pesta Paduan Suara Gerejawi – Church Choir Competition) in Samarinda, where she won the gold medal. What started as just a fad has now brought Putri to be the new TV sensation. She successfully surprised all the judges, as well as the audience, with her perfect pitch and voice clarity. “It is all God’s gift for me to be able to survive until now in Indonesia Mencari Bakat. I never expected to go this far in the competition,” Putri says modestly. “I really want operatic singing (known as seriosa in Indonesia) to be popular among the young generation like pop songs. This is why I am going to give a more modern outlook to every one of my performances so that the audience can accept it better.”

Not only that, but Putri also wants to sing pop songs in “seriosa” style in order to fulfill her mission. “Gita Gutawa songs like ‘Harmoni Cinta’ (Love Harmony) could be a perfect example of a pop song that is done in a classical way. I also want to sing popular songs like Sarah Brightman, who successfully combined both genres of music.” As a 12 year old girl, Putri Ayu has big ambitions. However, with such a powerful voice and effortless way of singing, she is indeed the next great successor in our classical music scene in Indonesia. On her last performance with Indonesian soprano diva, Aning Katamsi, singing Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion’s “Tell Him”, Putri Ayu showed natural bravura quality that is quite rare to find, especially when remembering that she has never been to any music school. She is a star in the making indeed. To end our interview, I asked her about what she would like to sing next, and this was her answer: “I want to sing patriotic songs!” Bravo to Putri Ayu and I just hope she can continue to the final three, or even be the champion of this competition. Let’s just hope and watch this space…

Putri Ayu is the super-talented 12 year old star of ‘Indonesia Mencari Bakat’.

cd cdREVIEW REVIEW

Balada Shalawat Gita Gutawa Gita Gutawa mencari lelaki sempurna ?.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole Animation, Adventure, Fantasy. Director: Zack Snyder. Writers: John Orloff, Emil Stern. Cast: Jim Sturgess, David Wenham, Hugo Weaving, Geoffrey Rush, Sam Neill, Helen Mirren. Are these cute, furry, little owls going to pull a “Lord of the Rings” act? Most likely so. “Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” is based on Kathryn Lasky’s first book of a trilogy. “300” and “Watchmen” director Zack Snyder got the job, and here he escapes those dark silhouettes, and goes “Final Fantasy”animation style. “A Mighty Heart” writer John Orloff promises a script that will be infused with a lot of emotion. Expect a heartwarming 3D adventure as we follow the story of Soren (voiced by Jim Sturgess), the owlet who was taken and brainwashed in a wicked military camp, then escapes and joins the wise owls of Ga’Hoole to fight the dark force. Check out the names who voice these characters, and ask yourself, “What could go wrong?”

Devil Mystery, Thriller. Director: Drew Dowdle, John Erick Dowdle. Writers: Brian Nelson, M. Night Shyamalan. Cast: Chris Messina, Logan Marshall-Green, Jenny O’Hara, Bojana Novakovic. Nama M. Night Shyamalan semakin ambruk pamornya setelah serangkai kegagalan yang mencapai klimaksnya di “The Last Airbender”.

A group of people are trapped inside an elevator, and realise that there is a devil among them. Rated PG-13 for violence and disturbing images, “Devil” is directed by the duo that brought us “Quarantine” – so, that’s the first good sign. Writer Brian Nelson once did a very good job with “Hard Candy” – the low-budget thriller that first introduced us to Ellen Page. Another good omen. The only possible backlash? There’s that godforsaken name M. Night Shyamalan sitting on the credit title as Producer, and Storywriter. Oh, God … deliver us from evil!

The Other Guys Action, Comedy. Director: Adam McKay. Writers: Adam McKay, Chris Henchy. Cast: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Lindsay Sloane, Ray Stevenson, Steve Coogan, Paris Hilton, Anne Heche, Damon Wayans Jr. Kalau Stallone berhasil mengumpulkan jagoan-jagoan kelas berat di “The Expendables”, kini giliran Adam McKay – sutradara “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” dan “Step Brothers” – membuat paguyuban super konyol. Yuk, ketawaketiwi tanpa banyak berpikir! After “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Step Brothers”, director Adam McKay and douchebag Will Ferrell work together again in “The Other Guys” to deliver some crazy laughs. This time, the comedy is brought up to a new level, with heavyweight names appearing on the bill: Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Wahlberg, Steve Coogan, and the Blondest Queen Bee of All: Paris Hilton. This is an underdog story of a pair of miserable cops who want to be heroes in New York City. It seems like everything will go wrong for them, and that means nothing could go wrong for us, the audience. Let’s switch-off our brains, and have a good laugh!

“La Huma” “La Huma”

Japanese Restaurant

Have you ever had authentic Japanese cuisine in a Javanese-style house? Welcome to a cozy clash of cultures called La Huma.

056 | beatmag.com

T

ucked away above Cosmo Japanese supermarket at the Wijaya Graha Puri (formerly Grand Wijaya Center) in South Jakarta, lies an unexpected find. La Huma serves great tasting Japanese food in an unusual and unique setting. In the days of loud and brightly-lit sushi bars inside shopping malls, the decision to have a Javanese pendopo decor for a Japanese restaurant is a fresh and welcomed one, especially among Japanese expatriates in Jakarta. It is an intimate place to savor a little bit of traditional Indonesian ambience, while having a familiar, authentic, home-style Japanese meal. It is indeed the best of both worlds and I have heard that this place is very popular among housewives for their arisan, or get-together, after grocery shopping.

ice, topped with delicious syrups, imported directly from Japan. Choose any of these fabulous flavors: strawberry, melon, tropical peach, Hawaiian blue, and many more. Hey, why not combine a couple? They are all refreshingly delicious! So, go for a new experience in Japanese dining at La Huma. After all, a Japanese restaurant full of Japanese patrons can only be a good sign.

And now for the food. La Huma prides itself on having an extensive selection of noodles (Udon, Ramen and Soba); a firm favorite among their Japanese clients. For starters, try the tasty Yaki Gyoza chicken dumplings (20.5K). As for the noodles, go for the Miso Ramen (55.5K), Tempura Soba (65.5K), or Wakame Udon (49.5K). All generously portioned and all delicious! But my personal favorite is their Teishoku or set menus. The Salmon Teriyaki Teishoku (69.5K) is to die for! The salmon is cooked to perfection and the teriyaki sauce tastes like it was made with love. It is served in a beautiful bento box, with a side of rice, salad, and a bowl of hearty miso soup. For you sashimi lovers, you’ll get a kick out of the Chirashi Zushi (85K). It’s a rice bowl generously topped with freshly-cut sashimi. Yes, they also have sushi. Not that large a selection but they can give all those other sushi bars a run for their money! All of these fabulous foods are made under the supervision of a Japanese head chef, so you know they’re authentic. The most important thing is that all their ingredients are top-of-the-line. They have their own vegetable farm, and they even make their own tofu. How’s that for freshness? The noodles are specially ordered from Japan. Their meats are imported from Australia and New Zealand, and their choice of fish is among the best and freshest around. Last but not least, for dessert you can’t go wrong with the Kaki Goori (15K). Most people know it as Hawaiian shaved ice. It’s a scoop of smooth shaven

THE LUV’S BAR AND DINE

It

We sat down at the bar when Barry, the Head Bartender offered us a Rosemary Lemontini and a Cucumber Breeze. Barry explained to us about his new creations; the Lemontini is a mix of Absolut Citron with an extra dash of lemon juice, topped with a string of rosemary leaves. As for the Cucumber Breeze, he mixed Gin, soda water, cucumber, some sage leaves, and a cucumber stick. Patricia, a good friend of mine, and I agreed to Both are indeed interesting, yet very tasty. Patricia find a place to meet and chat about how nice is really enjoying her Lemontini and before long Jakarta is around this time of year. All while having she asked for another one. a nice happy hour deal. We decided to stop by at The Luv’s Bar and Dine at CityWalk Sudirman, Happy Hours are usually a good time for the staff to mingle and chat with the customers. We were not too far away from Sudirman/Thamrin area. approached by Iqbal, the Head of Marketing of The first thing you notice is the huge island bar, this establishment. He explained a little bit about welcoming you as you enter. The purple, black, the place, its two years history, and the new menu and gold interior gives a contemporary feel. that Luv’s is coming up with. He suggested that was a cloudy September afternoon.Yes, we have been having weird ‘summer’ weather, with unusual amount of rain pouring down on the capital. Sometimes it makes the terrible rush hour traffic even more unbearable.Thankfully it was right after the holiday season, when Jakarta seems like a nice place to drive around in.

Patricia and I should share their Godfather Pizza (80K). I must say that it is very delicious; a nice combo of ground beef, chicken, tomato, onion, oregano, mozzarella cheese, on top of a thin crust pizza dough. Our evening has just got better. As we complemented the food, Iqbal introduced us to Rizal, the gregarious Head Chef and he told us that the food is created by him and chef Giuliano from their affiliated restaurant in Bali, Sapori. Chef Rizal suggested the Veal Osso Bucco (250K) and the Lamb Shank (300K). Why not? By now we are really enjoying the ambiance, the chill out music, and the food in this place. Our orders looked like works of art, meticulously prepared by chef Rizal. You could tell that the meats are of the best quality. Both are generously portioned, so you know you’re getting your money’s worth. Highly recommended. Before we called it a night, we ordered some coffee. Again, they surprised us with the fine quality of the coffee. The Caffee Fantini coffee is specially ordered direct from Italy. Strong, yet smooth. A perfect way to end the day. We are absolutely coming back here. Next time we’ll get a bunch of friends to enjoy the night with the lovely people of Jakarta. And Iqbal promised to remind us about The Luv’s second anniversary party in November. It’s definitely something to look forward to.

Jeffrey Campbell Now Available at Tribute Jakarta F

inally, Jeffrey Campbell shoes are now available in Jakarta, all thanks to Tribute, who began stocking this line very recently. I’ve seen many Jeffrey Campbells and have been drooling over them. One of the shoes that caught my attention was the Tick Peep Toe Wedge. It’s definitely an attention grabber with metal hardware buttons covering the wedge part. I’m pretty sure that you’ll have seen their buckle strap ankle boots named Potion too; or a pair of copies at the very least – every time I go to the mall, I see at least one girl wearing them or something similar. The Jeffrey Campbell company itself was actually started as a small, family-owned, fashion-forward footwear label ten years ago in Los Angeles. Their designs came from the latest runway trends, mixed with vintage inspiration and day-to-day interaction with the world of fashion. Their shoes have become more commonly known in recent year,s because they provide the latest styles in affordable prices. Tribute store now have four different styles of Jeffrey Campbell shoes. If you want to join the latest clog craze, they have the Snick Stud. Whereas for those whose drooling is over the Potion ankle boots, you can go for Belgium, a buckle strap wedge that’s not as high, so is easier to wear. The other two styles are also ankle boot wedges: Mary Roks and Ninety Nine. Head down to Tribute for more information on pricing, and grab yourself a pair. Eat, Sleep, Biasa? If

you see the Biasa store in Kemang and look at their display window, don’t you think that somehow the whole thing reflects the word “holiday” and “Bali”? Maybe it’s the aloofness of the way the clothing drapes the mannequin, or perhaps it’s the carefree feeling invoked by how each piece can be worn against another, whilst looking neither too neat nor sloppy. This Bali-based design house just launched their latest collection. Lightweight materials seemed to be their signature. Fabrics such as “loom-state” cotton, linen and khadi handmade materials create a crisp, clean and deconstructed feeling within their collection. A free-flowing attitude is conveyed using muslin and chiffon. Biasa sticks with earthy and neutral hues, adding a few dark and pale blues here and there. Choosing minimal color palettes allows customers to explore endless possibilities when wearing Biasa pieces. Most importantly, these light materials and flowy structures are perfect for the blazing weather of our beloved country, don’t you think? It doesn’t hurt that the clothes are instilled with a little dream of the beach either (especially the kaftan, which you can use as outerwear when wearing your swimwear). Also, check out their bags and accessories collection. Although their clothing revolves around basic color palettes, their jewelry is one way of making a bold statement, giving a good balance to the whole ensemble. The other Biasa store is located in Ubud. Do you think that Elizabeth Gilbert ever had the chance to browse the store and get something there? After all,

feature Inappropriate scarf wear and why DJs get all the breaks… It was about time I treated my body to at least a glimpse of sunlight. The fluorescent tan I had been working on each night as I pushed my body into fifth gear on a stream of dance floors was beginning to become reminiscent of gecko skin and needed some serious attention. Come to think of it, I was beginning to look a lot like a gecko in too many ways. I leaned further into the mirror and checked myself with a general feeling of fear: “Have my eyes always been that big?” y self-attention was lost when a moth crashed into my cheek hoping to get closer to the light above the mirror. For some reason I was reminded of how hungry I was and decided to head out in search of food. After all, my own kitchen until now had only experienced the heating of water as its primary function, which made me wonder why I needed six square meters of space to house my kettle.

My sunnies seemed to be rather ineffective at covering my oversized nocturnal eyes and so as I hit the street, I relied on the classic ten second countdown for a replacement pair… 10 – 9 – 8 – “Transport?” “Tidak Mau, no thanks!” – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1… and… “Mister, you want sunglasses?” Bingo. I figured I could have been wearing ten pairs of sunnies on my head and he still would have asked, but this time he was hitting the right guy. “Sure mate, I’ll take the biggest pair you’ve got.” Looking like a late 60’s starlet crossed with an early Star Trek being, I decided that the beach would do for a feed and some vitamin D would be a considerably healthy donation to my exterior, which was beginning to look a lot more like lizard skin by the minute. Hitting the sand, it was onto a beach chair with one hand raised to attract the attention of Mister Mie Goreng Made (otherwise known as Bruce Willis) and I was set

Slowly, I drifted off into a daydream of being a champion beach bat and ball player… Then I saw her wandering up the beach. The girl that always sent me into a nervous blithering pile of nonsense yet still had me living on the hope that we were destined to be married one day. Not that we had ever spoken. I pretended not to notice her as she made her way from beach chair to beach chair, handing out flyers and smiling sweetly to everyone that attempted conversation. I even closed my eyes and acted like I was asleep when she got closer, secretly searching my brain for some sort of conversation starter that wouldn’t sound like every other guy she had encountered; something that didn’t sound too enthusiastic. PR girls must hate that. “Hallo, we have a great party tonight, you should come,” she said, approaching me. “There will be a famous DJ.” I sat up and reached out for the flyer. “Ok awesome!” I blurted out enthusiastically. Damn. “You, er.. look like you’re… hot,” I stated. Bad. She looked unsure of what I meant. “Walking on the beach I mean. Where are you from?” I asked, hoping my next question would be a large degree cooler. “My parents,” she threw back with a smirk. “Ha, yeah… nice. So you live in Bali huh, nice... What do you…. do?” “Ah, I work for a club,” she said, with a subtle, nervous glance at the flyer she had just handed me. “Oh yeah the show, tonight, of course.” Fool.“So will you be there tonight?” “Of course, the DJ is amazing, he’s famous. So maybe I see you there?”

A perfect PR smile to soften my stupidity as she moved on to the next beach chair where a perfectly cut, probably European guy was sitting reading a book, wearing only Speedos and a light silk scarf. Very inappropriate. It struck me that blatant misuse of scarfwear was becoming far too common in these parts and this seemed to be taking it to the next level. Sure, jeans, a t-shirt and a scarf on the streets of Seminyak in the middle of a blistering tropical day might be one way to advertise poetic intelligence, but sitting on the beach?! Only rock stars could get away with that kind of behavior. I had to assume he was reading a book he’d just had selfpublished on the “collected consciousness of saving children from war zones” and I had no doubt that he was impressing my future wife with his refined use of Indonesian slang. He’d certainly managed to hold her attention for long enough… Damn my gecko brain. I needed to get fit. Bruce Willis broke my train of jealous thoughts with his arrival, and as the smell of cheap noodles took my attention I diffused my hunger and took a look at the flyer. Very quickly my resolution of health was being replaced with the idea of another night out. Perhaps if I headed to the show tonight I’d have a chance to regain some level of cool and chat with my dream girl, without the likes of ‘chiseled looks Speedo-man’ to show up my daylight reptilian nature. After all, the cloak of darkness and dance floors did wonders for the ego. And there he was. Right there on the flyer. Mister “Inappropriate Scarf Wear” himself. Laid out in full color, holding the title for one of the world’s best DJs and ready to turn one of Bali’s biggest nightclubs into a ‘steaming bath of beat penetration’. “Forget the gym,” I thought. “It’s time I invested in a pair of decks and a silk scarf.” DJ Gecko had a particular ring to it... link and you’ll miss it. But S Mart does exist in a handy location for anyone travelling between Kuta and Seminyak - right next door to the Aston Grand Kuta hotel on Jl Dewi Sri, set back off the road with its own handy parking forecourt. As from early July of this year, S Mart has opened and is definitely worth a look. There are so many convenience stores - literally every few metres - lining Bali’s busy streets, but S Mart is more than that. It has the characteristics of a local corner shop back home, filled with high quality produce and its own bakery. Walking through the store, you’ll find the S Café towards the back; and what a lovely little surprise it is. Immaculately finished, my immediate thought was that it looked like something straight out of an

interior design catalogue. And sure enough, this café’s décor has apparently been put together by the interior design lady from Cosmopolitan magazine – impressive! Stylish and contemporary shades of grey, black and cream have been used, and as well as the dining area, you’ll find a section filled with large comfy sofas overflowing with big, fashionably printed cushions against a backdrop of retro wallpaper and framed images of New York City. It’s an ideal spot to sit with a coffee and a book, hook up with friends or grab a working lunch using the free WiFi. The courtyard-style look, complete with plenty of greenery in the form of potted trees makes you feel almost as though you’re sitting outside, and the immensely high ceilings with their numerous fans mean you

can enjoy some respite from the Bali heat outside. Family friendly, a play area for children is provided also. I learn from a chat with GM Marc (formerly GM of Bali Deli), that S Mart is taking a more gourmet approach than certain other convenience store snack spots. Though many of the dishes are preproduced for the store and bakery (and other hotels and villas) at their own S Factory, the quality is very high, and is combined with a guaranteed speedy service. This means S Café can also be used as an easy take-out option. Another shop exists at Jimbaran and there are plans to open in Sanur and Ubud in the not too distant future also. The menu boasts something for everyone, from sandwiches (or ‘Smartwiches’) to salads and main meals. For anywhere between 15K and 25K, those who fancy having breakfast cooked by someone else for a change can base their choice on their mood: ‘Woke Up Too Early’, ‘Feeling Sporty’, ‘Still In Love’, ‘Tough Night’ or ‘I’m So Hungry’, which allows you to construct your own ideal breakfast to satisfy the a.m. hunger pangs. The choice of sandwiches is phenomenal, ranging from Classic to Bagels and Paninis. We tried the ’Lox and Bagel’ for 35K; a sesame bagel containing smoked salmon, dill, capers and lemon cream cheese, and loved the zinginess of the lemon and capers against the taste of the fish. The main meals were

equally as flavorsome and it’s clear that a lot of time has been spent creating these dishes to allow for highest quality and maximum taste as well as speed when cooking. The Duck Confit came with sautéed potatoes for a very reasonable 48K, but the tastiest dish of the evening had to be the French-inspired Veal Blanquette with Rice, which was a casserole style dish consisting of tender pieces of veal in a thick gravy – a perfect dish for when you’re missing mum’s home cooking - and all for only 38K. Add any extra sides you like from mixed greens, mashed potato, sautéed potatoes, gratin Dauphinois or sautéed mixed vegetables for an extra 15K each. To end our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the Sweet of the Day, which was Blueberry Cheesecake, however, you can select anything you like from the bakery section for your dessert, where everything is homemade daily. Seated at the back of the room, I amuse myself watching the expressions on people’s faces as they walk in. It really isn’t what you’re expecting here, and some people look like they’ve just wandered downstairs and switched on the lights on Christmas morning! Try it for yourself next time you’re on Jl Dewi Sri. Tosca

IP’s ‘Closing Set Party’ on Saturday was a musical feast for all party goers seeking a good time in Kuta. Starting things off was a live band and to turn things up a notch on the hot side, a formation of sexy dancers followed. Past midnight and the party was split in two with house beats pumping up stairs and hip hop rhythms echoing from below. The appearance of guest DJ Reynald from Jakarta reunited the different party factions for an all out party ‘til the end.

he halls and dance floor of Blue Eyes were jam packed with Trance fans as Thrillseekers took to the stage to decorate the sounds of the night with their enticing beats. Bringing a dose of sexiness for the men that night was a fashion show by C&C Models, leaving many a little hot under the collar, and the Blue Eyes bartenders’ flaming flare show only made the temperature rise again.

Blending Flamenco sounds together with percussion, trumpet, electronic beats, breaks and a mix of global rhythms, gives these guys all they need to turn sunset into groove time. A perfect way to ease out of the August madness and when Ku De Ta realized this, they kept them coming back for another four days of jamming after the initial Saturday night concert.
