Buktikan saja sendiri! YouTube has worked its magic again. This time the digital miracle happened to Raisa. An upload of her acoustic performance of “Serba Salah” with her back-up band in late 2010 met with a quick and very positive response from the public. By early 2011, more than a hundred thousand people had already viewed her video. Thinking that this was her time to pursue her dream, the former back-up singer for RAN decided to step forward. Several weeks ago, she finally released her much-anticipated debut album, Raisa. Produced by Asta (RAN) and Handy + Rio (Soulvibe), and released by Universal Music Indonesia, the album consists of 9 songs by the 21-year-old lady, with most moving in the direction of pop with a touch of R&B. It seems she is not far behind her idols, such as Steve Wonder, Brian McKnight, Joss Stone, Alicia Keys, and India Arie. Her music career, which started when she was three years old, singing “A Whole New World,” has now become a serious business. In case you haven’t seen it yet, go check out her much-talked video, by going to YouTube, typing “Serba Salah,” and witnessing it for yourself. If you like it, that’s only the beginning.

Soccer is definitely the most popular sport in Indonesia, as well as the one with the most passionate fans. It’s clear that there are legions of crazed soccer fans, but what about soccer players?

he Liverpool Football Club has entered into a partnership in Indonesia, most recently sending their top product coach, Paul Barratt, to build and develop potential Indonesian football talents to the club’s standard. They are establishing their first Asian academy here in Indonesia, called the Liverpool Football Club Academy Indonesia. The plan for the project started around 2010, with visits from former striker Ian Rush and a few soccer coaches. Several soccer clinics were held in Indonesia, and Rush also participated in activities through the British Chamber of Commerce’s “Giving Kids a Sporting Chance” community program. The academy starts by training young children, most of whom are very talented and willing to participate but lack organization, and also recruits and trains Indonesian coaches according to the Liverpool standard. With several soccer academies already training and developing hidden local talents, maybe this soccer-mad country will one day see its national team succeed at an international level. The academy’s fees are pretty moderate, ranging from 750.000 to 1.200.000 per month. The regular two-hour training schedule will start on September 17th, 2011. fter fasting for the entire month of August, we have finished the holy month of Ramadan. It is now time to celebrate the big win over temptation. Slowly the city rhythm will return to its original pace, as will the infamous traffic. The two weeks holiday will come to an end and our life as we know it will be back to normal. Cheer up folks! There is always a reason to enjoy life and music is one of the best remedies there is.

We have found something musical for all of you who decide to stay in Jakarta, which will definitely add color and enjoyment to your holiday moments. For over a year now, the Cumlaude Concert Series has been presenting a variety of performances, from recitals to choir performances. The concert series was initiated by Ananda Sukarlan and Chendra Panatan through their Yayasan Musik Sastra Indonesia (Indonesian Classical Music Foundation), and has continuously and consistently showcased Indonesia’s best young musical talents. On this coming September 6th and 7th, the Cumlaude Concert Series is back, featuring Indonesia Technology Bandung Choir (ITB Choir) as their main performer. “Flickering Light - Road to Arezzo” is the title of this upcoming concert at Erasmus Huis auditorium. Led by ITB Choir’s famous conductor and music director, Indra Listiyanto, the concert promises to take you on a choral journey through the ages, from the time of Brahms and Mendelssohn to the present, with contemporary compositions by Eric Whitacre and Ko Matsushita. For almost 5 decades now, ITB Choir has been a great example of not only an established choir but also of one of the most successful university student choirs in Indonesia. Various prizes in national competitions, as well as international

competitions such as the Choir Olympics (Bremen, 2004) and World Choir Games (Xiamen, 2006) have been added to their long list of prestigious credentials. Two years ago, the choir conducted a monthlong cultural tour of Europe and was successfully awarded several prizes in the 48th International Choral Competition C.A. SEGHIZZI in Gorizia, Italy. During their time there, the choir performed in concerts in 13 cities in Europe starting from Prague and Plzen in the Czech Republic, moving through Barcelona in Spain, and ending with Marseille and La Destrousse in France, in all places receiving warm welcomes and standing ovations from their audiences. With such outstanding achievements under their belts, the ITB Choir’s upcoming concert is definitely classified as a must-watch - especially since they rarely perform in Jakarta. The harmony and dynamics of their melodies are sure to charm listeners of all ages. So bring your family and enjoy this quality holiday concert performance before your daily routine catches back up with you.

Dj Marco “Polo” Krisna and Cecere the Alter Ego METIS BALI T

he up-tempo tone set by DJ Marco “Polo” Cecere is ideal for reminiscing on good times in Bali, especially at Metis Bali, where the focus is on art and nature. Mr. Cerrone, raising the bpm a bit on the typical lounge-esque sound, provides the right soundtrack for some wine and tapas at sunset. Call it ‘aperochic’: the soundtrack to preparations for a night out clubbing on the island. This hand-picked selection of tracks is startlingly rich, Iggy Pop adding attitude and excitement with “I’ll be Seeing You” and Marco Polo’s own tracks like “Grey Skies,” “Puro Prazer,” and “From Goa to Bombay” giving it a liquid ethnic-bossa feel that jives and drives you down Bali roads with rice fields in the background.

U

maku has made a name for itself as the right place for affordable, quality sushi and other Japanese fare. The eatery has two outlets, one in Citra Gran Cibubur housing complex and another in the Tebet area. The one we visited, however, is their third. Tucked away behind a mini-mart on leafy Jalan Duren Tiga, this unassuming Umaku branch opened just about a month ago. The interior is simple, modern Japanese chic. Big paper light globes dominate the room, with touches of quirkiness thrown in for good measure by way of Japanese newspapers, which act as wall decorations. Umaku means “skillfully.” This can be applied to the restaurants’ sushi creations, but was also chosen as a name because it is a play on the word for “my house” in Javanese (“Omahku”). As for the food, the owners take pride on providing the freshest, best quality imported ingredients for their patrons. You can really taste the difference here. When you add this to the excellent skills of the sushi chefs, you have a winning combination. We started with the Wafu Salad (22k). The blend of wakame (seaweed) and tofu, along with some veggies, and a special salad dressing, really got us off to a good start. For a medium-sized eatery, Umaku offers an extensive selection of Japanese fare, including sushi, sashimi, fusion rolls, agemono (deep fried dishes), noodles, and even fried rice. The wide variety strikes the right notes with their everincreasing clientele. We had the pleasure of trying the Sake Aburi or seared salmon (25k), the Spider Roll or soft shell crab with unagi topping (37k), and one of the favorites here, the Volcano (35k); a fantastic fusion roll of salmon, crab stick, and tobiko, topped with special mayo. All of them were

wonderfully tasty! Umaku is very serious when it comes to the quality of the food. Other noteworthy choices here are the Sake Kabutoyaki or salmon head (26k), and the Toro or fatty tuna sushi (44k) – a rare find not widely available even in the bigger sushi restaurants in town. And do try their fiery beef noodle, the Karai Ramen (35k). It burns so good! If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, you should go for the Omakase or chef’s special (145k): three kinds of sashimi, yakimono, seven kinds of sushi, nimono, soup, and desert. The inventive chefs prepare different types of creations every day, and most of the time, they are not listed on the menu! On our visit, the kind chef whipped up a couple of his specials, the Sake Yushu Miso (salmon with yushu/orange peel miso sauce and green onion), and the Ebi Omakasu (Shrimp sushi with ‘hidden’ roe). Most impressive. Next time, we will definitely go for the full Omakase! The Macha Ice Cream (15k) and Ogura Ice Cream (14k) topped off a fantastic first visit for us at Umaku. So, indulge your cravings for affordable yet superb quality Japanese fare at this new and exciting sushi joint. Highly recommended! (Budi Iskandar)

When was the last time you had a real bagel? Well, thanks to four cosmopolitan housewives, Jakarta now has a proper place for bagels.

W

elcome to Bagel Bagel. Located on Jl Benda in Kemang, this smallish eatery opened its doors to the hungry public on June 8, 2011. It is a labor of love for Sari Nila, Brenda Rumahlewang, Lina Sinaga, and Fathia Syarif, a group of friends whose mission is to ‘bring the bagel experience to Jakarta.’ Until now, bagels have generally only been available at high-end restaurants or hotels, catering to the expatriates who are more familiar with this bread. Having traveled abroad a number of times, the four longed for a real bagel place in their own hometown. The atmosphere is really relaxed and comfortable at this small cafĂŠ. The bagels are of course the main attraction. Bagel Bagel offers freshly baked New York-style bagels daily. An assortment of bagels is available for you to choose from: plain, poppy seed, sesame seed, whole wheat, cinnamon raisin, cheese, onion, and even chocolate chip. They are priced at 10k each, 55k for a half-dozen, and 105k for a dozen. There are a number of choices of cream cheese to go along with them. Regular Philadelphia (18k per tub) is a firm favorite of many, but the flavored ones are also worth the try. Take your pick from garlic chives, cracked black pepper, sundried tomato, and lemon zest (20k per tub). Yes, bagels and cream cheese are nice, but the specialties here are their scrumptious sandwiches! Their lox sandwich (55k) is already a huge hit. The combination of silky smooth

Also, be sure to follow and mention their Twitter page (@bagel2bagel) to get a 10% discount. Not too shabby.

Thinking of healthier alternatives? Hero Vs Villain By: @JohanJT

Ingin dikenal berjiwa heroik? Mau mengintai mereka? Cari tahu di www.blitzmegaplex.com dan www.21cineplex. com! Ever dream of being a hero, fighting evil, and winning for justice? Of course you have. These three films are the ones that you can watch and learn. Share the allAmerican pride with the captain, build courage with a bunch of students facing a giant troll, and get elegant and sexy with a Colombian heroine. www.blitzmegaplex. com and www.21cineplex.com

Captain America: The First Avenger Action, Adventure. Director: Joe Johnston. Writers: Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Cast: Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Samuel L. Jackson, Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones, Dominic Cooper.

Another superhero emerges on the silver screen to save the world again. Fed up? I think not. Admit it, you can never get enough of cool superheroes! Anticipating the release of “The Avengers” next year, Marvel spoils us with the story of the first Avenger himself, a superhero of the stars and stripes, Captain America. This is not your typical superhero movie. It’s shot with beautiful vintagetone cinematography, yet is high-tech and action-packed. You may find yourself shouting, “All hail Captain America!” by the end of the movie.

Troll Hunter Adventure, Fantasy, Comedy. Writer & Director: André Ovredal. Cast: Otto Jespersen, Robert Stoltenberg and Knut Nærum. Troll Hunter is the story of a group of Norwegian film students that set out to capture real-life trolls on camera, after learning that their existence has been covered up for years through a government conspiracy. Shot in an interesting style, the film is wildly entertaining and funny, and presents fantastic images of giant trolls wreaking havoc on houses. Get barbaric!

Colombiana Action, Drama. Director: Olivier Megaton. Writers: Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. Cast: Zoe Saldana, Michael Vartan, Callum Blue, Amandla Stenberg, Cliff Curtis. So you ask who will replace Angelina Jolie as the next sexy action queen of Hollywood? Well, I assure you that she’s exotic, sexy, classy, and acrobatic. Her name is Zoe Saldana (The Losers) and in this film she plays Cataleya Restrepo, a stone-cold Colombian assassin, who witnesses the murder of her parents as child and is now seeking revenge on a frightening mobster in Bogota. The script and filmography guarantee that you will find Colombiana entertaining. Watch out, guys! Stilettos, tight suit, tan skin, and a gun make for a winning combination.

The Bra/sheer Top dilemma There are times when we want to wear brightly coloured bras or catchy prints, But we don’t always want our bras to show through our tops. What’s a girl to do?

I

n some cases, finding the right bra to be worn underneath a sheer top or T-shirt is confusing. Some women might get trapped by the myth that a white bra should always go underneath a white T-shirt, while others might think it’s right to wear a beige bra under a sheer top. Not all women know that the perfect shade for hiding the bra line under a sheer top is the one closest to your skin tone.

Tone collection, and then make a decision as to whether they will continue producing La Senza Skin Tone or not. Indonesia is among the three lucky countries where La Senza Skin Tone has been released, in addition to the United Arab Emirates and Canada. Indonesia has been chosen because it represents the diversity of Asian women, and also because the sales of the La Senza Body Kiss bra in Indonesia are highest.

Now the problem can be solved with the help of La Senza Skin Tone. The newest collection from La Senza has three different colours to suit women with different skin tones. The options are Rose Tan, Rich Brown, and Camel Brown. Rose Tan is the lightest shade of La Senza Skin Tone, and has actually been available for a long time as the core colour of all La Senza collections, in addition to black. Each La Senza collection comes in playful colours and prints, as well as in these core basics.

In addition to offering three different colors, La Senza Skin Tone is available in three different types of bra: Body Kiss, So Free, and Hello Sugar. Body Kiss promises to be your most comfortable bra, since its underwire is cushioned. So Free also offers comfort to its wearer, especially for women with big cup sizes, as it has wide straps and no padding. If you’re looking for a push-up bra with maximum impact, then Hello Sugar is the best type for you, because it’s the thickest push-up bra that La Senza has.

Now with the launching of La Senza Skin Tone, La Senza is adding Rich Brown and Camel Brown to their core colours. Rich Brown is the darkest tone of all. Even if Rich Brown doesn’t suit your skin tone, it’s still fashionable, unique, and elegant. Camel Brown is the medium color that will likely suit most Indonesian women’s skin tones. According to La Senza’s representative, La Senza Skin Tone is now being released only as a market trial. This means that over the next few weeks, La Senza will examine the market results of its Skin

Confused by so many great choices? Why not come and try them out at your nearest La Senza Store? Since these weeks will determine whether La Senza Skin Tone will continue to be offered, I suggest you go give the bras a try as soon as possible. Also, why not become a fan of La Senza Indonesia’s Facebook Fanpage (http://www.facebook.com/ LaSenzaIndonesia) or a follower on Twitter (@ LasenzaInd) and get the latest info and tips from La Senza?

ulisan is a local brand that seems to be the talk of the town lately. It offers limited edition graphic prints for those who love fresh, handmade creations. Everywhere I go these days, I seem to spot a woman toting one of these bags with their easily recognizable prints. Curious how those masterpieces were created, Deszell and I made a visit to Tulisan workshop, located at Jl Tirtayasa IV 33, in South Jakarta. The workshop is a homey white vintage colonial house full of impressive detail, just like the Tulisan items themselves. Melissa Sunjaya, the person behind Tulisan, took us on a tour of what turned out to be her grandmother’s house and shared her story. Family played an important role in shaping Melissa’s desire to establish Tulisan. Her grandma was a dressmaker who showed her how to create things by sewing and quilting. Melissa’s mother is a home decorator, with whom Melissa has collaborated in building up the Tulisan project. Melissa was taught calligraphy by her father, and is able to sketch with calligraphic strokes. As a big fan of typography, Melissa draws and writes her designs by hand. She also shares her father’s passion for photography. Her designs are much inspired by details that she has captured while travelling, referencing iron-cast ventilation grills, quirkily shaped botanical specimens, faded vintage stamps, and the fine handwritten scripts on old

postcards. With this kind of focus, it’s no wonder Tulisan items are so rich in detail. Each collection and design tells its own story. When you buy any of the products, you get the attached story, complete with an illustration. This is how the name Tulisan emerged; Melissa always starts a collection with short stories as the groundwork of her designs. So you not only get a beautiful design, but get lost in the story as well. Melissa has delivered numerous collections, such as Amma Supahilo, Delightfully Yours, Mrs. Picklenuts, and her newest, Sound of Dawn and Hotel Batavia. A new item is launched every week, while a new theme or story is born every month. Each product design is produced in limited numbers, with a total of roughly 36 to 50 items. Tulisan has a lot to offer, ranging from tote bags to carry-alls, atelier boxes that are roomy enough for your laptop and files, beach bags, toy bags, pouches, aprons, cushion covers, tea towels, and stationery. What are you waiting for? Go to the Tulisan website (www.mytulisan.com) and I’m sure you’ll find a story that speaks to you.

The Zeitgeist Global Media Festival Recognizing the power of art and media to help change the world, “The Zeitgeist Media Festival” engages the artistic community and their power to change values. It proposes that needed changes in the structural/ economic workings of society can only manifest in tandem with a personal/social transformation of values in each of us. While intellectual knowledge serves its role of showing the path, many in the world follow their feelings- not the knowledge. The Zeitgeist Media Festival hopes to bridge those levels, while also illuminating a focus where changing and improving the world is no longer considered a fringe, suspect or even dangerous pursuit, but rather the highest and most honorable level of personal/social integrity we have. Many seem to forget that we created the world society as it existsand we can change it anytime we want. There are simultaneous events in Los Angeles and worldwide. erhaps there is no creature more symbolic of freedom and frailty than a bird. Whether soaring in the sky or chirping on a branch, the little entities are both inherently captivating and sweetly evocative. It is fitting then that birds serve as the subject of art, with all their intrinsic layers of metaphor and allegory. “Birds” by artist PinkGirlGoWild, a.k.a. Eunice Nuh, is a beautiful mixedmedia affair involving video, sculptures, and drawings, all using the winged creatures to depict loss, longing, and love. In her last solo exhibition, she launched a bird character named “Piyiko,” based on her longing for the presence and song of birds that seems to have become increasingly rare due to rapid urban development. To her, birds become an idiom, signifying the missing things that we long to see again. Her birds constitute faceless beauty, representing lost identity. Birds are a symbol for the artist’s longing for sincerity, honesty, nature, simplicity, and hope — the things that are becoming difficult to find, to have, and to value. The exhibition also features film and sculptural elements that are enhanced by the sound of bird song playing in the background. Inkubator’s Birds exhibit is a layered experience that should not be missed.

Danot presents the phenomena through animal masks inspired by a childhood spent surrounded by pets. As a child that could be said to have gotten everything he wanted, he lacked the courage to try new things.

Danot was a child who was protected and guarded by his parents, making him a shy and insecure boy. It is for this reason

that he often portrays humans with animal-shaped heads, or even without heads. “The Boy and His Minds” is an exhibition that is quite personal to Danot, because through it, he exposes his experience as a kid. It is thus part of his process of maturing, and this can be seen from how he changes his work in the last phase of its development. It is exciting to follow this path of growth, which shows that there are still many new bursts of creativity to come.

Made by a company that supplies hair rejuvenation technology to physicians, it employs low level laser therapy (LLLT) that provides pain-free light stimulation for cells in hair follicles, encouraging them to repair themselves. In concert with 30 high-output LEDs that provide a broad array of pulsed light energy, the rejuvenator’s 21 builtin lasers produce a 655nm wavelength--the optimal wavelength used in LLLT to increase cellular activity within hair follicles. The included tethered handset provides five preset, 20 to 25-minute treatment programs for both men and women. Results in as little as 60 days have been reported by those using the device two or three times per week. US$699.95 www.hammacher.com

SAng ria grill I

n the heart of busy Legian, Warung Asia’s sister restaurant offers grilled delights in a tranquil garden setting out of Bali’s past.

Any discussion of Legian restaurants is bound to touch on Warung Asia. A longstanding Thai food favorite, the place has only one major issue: its own success. It’s often packed and after negotiating the Legian streets and searching for parking with mouth-watering Thai delicacies on your mind, the last thing you want is to wait for is a seat. So I was understandably happy to hear that the people behind Warung Asia recently decided to open up a sister restaurant just down the street. Last Thursday, I hopped on my bike and headed down to check it out with some friends. Arriving at Sang Ria Grill, I was happily surprised. The place has a huge parking lot and a vast garden area, both of which are pretty unusual for the neighborhood. Walking in, you can see that a lot of attention has been paid to the décor of the place. The style is definitely Bali, but a Bali that is less common these days. There’s bamboo and stone, plants and water; a bit old-school but not retro or nostalgic. beatmag.com 080

Food The menu is also a bit traditional in that a little of everything is on offer. Some people come here to enjoy Warung Asia’s food in a more tranquil setting, which is definitely a winning combo. But beyond that, Sang Ria has a lot of different things going on. There’s some Malaysian and Singaporean flavor, a bit of Middle-Eastern, Italian, and even Mexican, and a whole lot of grill. Veggies are not forgotten, with an entire vegetarian menu dedicated to the herbivores. We muse over the many offerings with some glasses of Sangria (46.5k). The drink is nicely flavoured with rich spices and fresh fruits that are not only edible, but delicious.Very refreshing. We decide to start with the avocado chicken and crisp bacon salad (38k) and a dish of Tabouleh (32k), both of which are sizeable enough to share. The chicken in the salad is grilled with a bit of a Mediterranean touch, and is nicely paired with fresh lettuce, arugula, and cucumbers, a bacon and tangy balsamic dressing rounding things off nicely. The tabouleh is actually made with couscous, and is light, not oily, with hints of mint and lemon. It’s crisp but not at all dry. Next up, we go with Grilled Spice Chicken (59.5k), Malay Chicken Laksa (38k), and a nice slab of the house specialty, Barbecue Pork Ribs (79.5). The grilled chicken is a meaty breast, and is perfectly juicy but well cooked through. It comes with an exotic salsa of apples, mango, and pineapple, some cinnamony yellow rice, and two kinds of sambal. An unusual combination, but it works very well. The mild, light Laksa is creamy, coconut and lemongrass spicing up the soft noodles, chicken, and prawns. The ribs come in a sticky-sweet bbq sauce and are tender and falling off the bone. They’re juicy without being too greasy, and although there’s a big side on the plate when it gets to the table, within minutes we’ve reduced it to a pile of well chewed bones. There are sides of roasted baby potatoes and some smoky barbecue sauce, as well as a fresh salad that adds some balance.

We finish off with a tiramisu (30k) and some fudgy chocolate cake for dessert. Perfect with some tea or a rich black espresso. Whether you want classic Thai food in a relaxed setting right in the thick of things, or are on the prowl for some grilled delights, Sang Ria is the place to go. With live music performances in the evenings, it’s also an ideal spot for knocking back a few drinks with good friends. Irfan Young

Summer Syndrome Party

B

efore arriving at PH, I was wondering if they were going to pull a crowd. It was already a kinda strange, Ramadan influenced August, they had an Aussie band with limited fame, a claimed strict costume party dresscode, an 800k entrance, and a huge venue to fill. But at 11.30pm on Friday night, the traffic was backed up, clogging Petitenget, and the inside parking was full. We had to pass an array of flag bearing men showing clubgoers where the entrance was. Ascending the stairs and into the venue, we came across a jaw-dropping spectacle, which I’m sure even surprised PH. It looked like a sea of Indians at first (maybe cause that’s about the easiest costume to get your hands on and was suited to the band playing) but the place was packed like never before. Around midnight Empire of the Sun came on and with the help of a tight dance group, one of the best light and stage shows yet to be seen at Potato Head, and while the sound could’ve been a bit louder (which probably would have caused too many problems with the neighbours), the band came out and knocked ‘em dead. They went through their limited list of hits and a few new ones before one of the biggest fireworks displays I’ve seen on the island finished off the Empire of the Sun set that probably would have had my dogs jumping the fence at home a mile away, but would have left the punters thinking they’d got their money’s worth. The night went on till the late hours with DJs, dancers, and everything else that makes a classic festival-like show, and of course slowly descended into the usual rave-type depravity, but... .... credit where credit’s due; they put on a great party. It’s fantastic to see venues believing in themselves, putting the money where their mouth is, preparing a huge show to match the entrance fee, and, in the end, pulling an even huger crowd to match. Hats off. Bravo. Bravo. [David Trauts]

Ku De Ta Nautical White Party

T

he Ku De Ta white party took to the high seas on Saturday with a celebration of epically naval proportions. The nautically themed event was a very cool twist on the regular white party theme and Ku did not disappoint, making it a night to remember. The only thing that seemed to be missing was an imminent threat of Japanese attack. A big band, accompanied by what looked like a local version of the Andrew Sisters, entertained guests during a quite delectable dinner, and the party kicked off with a large formation of sailors marching the length of the club in full parade and ending up onstage with some very sexy dancers. The stage rivaled any WWII era USO show and marked the start to what would become a very naughty-cal night. The venue design totally enhanced the experience; it felt like you were on the set of South Pacific, with tropical meets nautical themes. A surfaced submarine was in the Ku pond and all the Ku staff were dressed in full navy whites. Party-goers were also in their best sailor gear, turning the scene into a sea of white that would put most naval balls to shame. The sound system that supported Ku De Ta’s naval operations might as well have been a battleship’s main battery. Massive amounts of bass blasted through the crowd with accurate mixes by Btk and a flotilla of DJs that included Spen and Karizma? More photos can be seen on beatmag.com

Making a Splash

T

his sunny Sunday afternoon was another perfect moment for Cocoon’s Splash party. Entering its 9th edition, the event saw the venue jam-packed with sun worshipping party people dancing and having a great time by the pool. Fadi was on the decks for a while delivering a healthy dose of chilled out house for the crowd of touros to dance and splash around in the pool as they basked in the baking Seminyak sun.

Sunday Sunset with Frente!

T

he legendary Aussie duet of Frente! landed in Bali for a special evening mini concert. It’s been a long time since the group has performed in public and the chance to finally see them in Bali brought droves of their fans to Woo Bar. Many of Frente’s classic songs were performed, with the crowd singing along enthusiastically. After they closed the night with their hit cover of New Order’s ‘Bizarre Love Triangle,’ most of the fans dispersed, but those up for a party kept things going to the sounds of French DJ Parrish Wintersmith.
