Think of those who have really impressed you throughout your lifetime, such as someone who has died many years before you, perhaps your great grandparents or someone whose accomplishments you are aware of, even though they happened centuries ago These individuals have left a legacy Your legacy will endure even long after you are gone if you have a strong one. It could be financial, a creation, or something you might do for other people. I often think of the impact that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made not only on his generation but also on those who are yet to come. Another example is David from the Bible; he has left an impact that we still talk about today The great thing about leaving a legacy is that we can start to build the legacy, we then leave it and it is never too late to start.
What is aLegacy?
The Bible tells us that a good father leaves an inheritance to their children's children. Therefore, we must leave an inheritance for our family with land, finances, and values. I believe the legacy we leave behind also applies to the next generation. If we have children, we need to consider the example we set for them when they're young. Have we taught them the values you hold dear through example?
Leaving a legacy is just embracing the notion that you have left a mark on this world. The best thing you could do saying so is stop where you are right now and assess. If you passed away today, how would people eulogize you? Are you happy with the fact that people describe you that way?
For me, it's giving honor where honor is due! So many times, the unsung person doing the work goes unnoticed; for me, it's a ministry to uplift God's people It's a ministry that brings hope and honor. God has a way that blesses His people, for His ways are not ours. I have been officially honoring others for eight years. It has been a joy to see the doors that God opens and the blessings our honorees receive.

For those who do not have children, I still believe you can leave a legacy that positively impacts generations. You can leave a legacy that impacts your extended family, neighbors, community, etc. The important thing is to live your life as an example for others. I feel that practicing generosity daily is another way to build a strong positive legacy. People with strong legacies are sometimes described as having a giving spirit or putting others first. I believe that sharing your gifts, talents and blessings with others is another important attribute of strong legacies. Caring for others is key. Pass along your values Practice Generosity
What does it mean to give Honor?
My mission and vision are to continue the legacy of my mother, who was an educator, and to empower the next generation. My mother was a science teacher, and she had a love for education. I was a freshman in college when she passed away. At the time, I was on a journey to fulfill my life's purpose, but my life was interrupted by life's circumstances. However, I'm back on track and I'm continuing her legacy by educating and empowering the next generation. T.I.U.A. has allowed me to empower and uplift God's people for His Glory. I am ordained to empower others to dream bigger and live the lives God predestines. It is an honor to be used by God for his Glory. In the Bible, He tells us to give Honor where honor is due. I have been honored to touch the lives of some of the greatest gifts God has placed on this earth for such a time as this. He has ordered my steps to be a blessing to our Civil Rights Leaders, such as the late Dr. C.T. Vivian, who started the Upward Bound Program. The Upward Bound Program paved the way for many blacks who lived in rural communities to attend college. I have also had the privilege and blessings to honor other great Civil Rights Leaders. These include the late Congressman Dr. John Lewis, the late Dr. Rita Samuels (the first African American to work in the Georgia State Building and the secretary of the late Dr. Martin Luther King), the late Dr. Rita Abernathy (the strong woman behind Dr. Ralph Abernathy), the late Dr. Joseph Lowery and so many others.

When we talk about leaving a legacy, I am so honored that we will go down in history for touching the lives of these great people. It is an honor to know that the day these great individuals were honored is recorded forever in the history of Georgia Legislation. We were able to honor these amazing people on Georgia Humanitarian Day. This is a legacy to be remembered!
must say that I am honored to continue the fight for families just like our formal Civil Rights Leaders by partnering and being a part of the board for the Black Family Magazine. What a legacy to leave in the earth realm as we empower families to live a life of wholeness by breaking generational curses and promoting healing.

I often say that at the end of my life, I hope that my funeral is filled with those that can truly say that knowing me impacted their life in some way. Whether it is a mother or child that was supported through the community outreach efforts of my nonprofit or a woman who was able to become a bestselling author or launch a profitable business due to my coaching and support, I want my legacy to be one of service. May the works that I have done speak for me. Being an entrepreneur is a pivotal part of my legacy. Entrepreneurship allows one to build something bigger than themselves that can impact their children and generations to come. As a mother and CEO, I strive to cultivate companies that truly serve others in developing and growing their personal legacies. My publishing company, SHERO Publishing, helps women to take their book ideas and create published books in 60 days. Every new author is now leaving a written legacy for their families and readers for years to come. Legacies can be one of impact, a written legacy, or financial legacy. I strive to leave all three and show thousands of women how to do the same. As a mother, my daughter is my greatest legacy and instilling Godly vision, values, and an entrepreneurial spirit in her is my primary goal. I never want my daughter to have to look past her front door for her mentor. At the age of eight, I helped my daughter to launch her first business and gain national acco. Erica Perry Grelades as she became a youth artist, author and motivator, supporting youth nation wide in becoming entrepreneurs. Mentoring her to reach her fullest potential, while giving back to her community globally is my greatest legacy work.

As the youngest of nine children, I’ve always wanted to set an example for my nieces and nephews. As the doting Auntie, I felt a sense of responsibility early in my life to leave a footprint in the lives of others. Those that matter most are my family and my daughter. I want to leave not only a financial legacy but one of total wellbeing. Particularly in the black family, much of our lived experiences have been through trials and tribulations that have robbed our communities of the essence of total wellbeing, including financial, emotional and physical health. Our spiritual wellbeing has sustained us over generations. The legacy we leave for generations to come, must encompass the spirit of total wellbeing. It all matters.

DR. LENIKA SCOTT: I began this journey from humble beginnings in 2007. I was the ambitious woman who left Corporate America behind to follow the voice of the Lord and blaze my own path in entrepreneurship. I then became a stay at home mother who was relentless and determined to make my mark in the network marketing industry. I was honored to serve as a founding executive member of a budding company and was able to quickly earn a six figure income just within the first year! With my husband by my side, we were able to break financial barriers and reach a pinnacle of success we’d never seen before.
Though most of my success was birthed within the direct sales and networking marketing industry, I have also been able to witness success in the areas of real estate, business coaching, and social media influence. I don’t take much credit for my success. The Lord gave me the grace and strategy to take my dreams my storm and eventually see success! This is what partnership with God is all about. I wouldn’t be where I am today had it not been for the Lord’s guidance, as I simply yielded to His way and allowed His will for my life to come to pass. Are you the first millionaire in your family? If so, how does it feel to be the 1st to build generational wealth and know that you have pathed the way for generations to come? COM

I learned early that life happens, and you will have to make a decision on which road you’re going to take. Very seldom do I share the story of the day I lost my older brother. Through his death, I went through some of the most grueling days of my life. I found myself gasping for air on some days, crushed by the news, ceaselessly crying out to the Lord. It was such a traumatic loss. When I eventually made peace with his death, it served as the catalyst during the beginning stages of my journey into the home based business. This one traumatic event is what catapulted me into the industry. I faced a serious crossroads moment of choosing depression and giving up from grief
I’m so very humbled to be able to say that I am the first multimillionaire in my family. It’s such an honor to be the one who has paved a path of financial freedom for generations to come and leave behind something that will last. Although the journey itself has surely been challenging, the reward is priceless! My husband and I were tremendously blessed to be able to create a legacy of wealth for our family in the span of a decade. We have been able to purchase our first ½ million dollar home, send our daughters to college debt free, crush $1.7 million dollars in debt, and build our $2.6 million luxury home! When my husband and I first started out, we always kept the vision of building generational wealth and leaving behind a legacy, not a bill. I believe that the enemy heavily targets finances and causes wealth to be held up supernaturally even throughout generations. This is why it is absolutely vital that those who are called to be the trailblazers and curse breakers for their families are equipped to break the chains and redistribute wealth. Building wealth and leaving an inheritance for generations after you are absolutely possible I’m a living testimony to that! What moment in life would you say brought you to the point of choice that encouraged you to change the trajectory of your then current situation?

I understand the strength that it takes to push past the doubts you may have as a woman, but also a Kingdom entrepreneur. Make no mistakes about it, businesses are hard to build, but they are possible to build! For this reason, keeping your “why” in front of you at all times is so important.
Some people use their challenges as a launching pad to catapult with force, while others simply stay stuck in them. Get rid of the thoughts that keep you stuck and bound in limitation. Get rid of behaviors that undermine your success despite your own wishes, dreams, or values. In order to tap into and reach success, you have to see it in your mind. WHAT
When I was in the 6th grade, I remember a tall, white man with silver hair named Mr. Sullivan came into my classroom He called my name and said he had to place me in a special needs classroom because I did not pass the school required testing. Let me paint a picture of what a special needs classroom looked like back in 1964. DOES RECEIVING YOUR HONORARY DOCTORATE MEAN TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY?
It was a classroom filled with mentally challenged, deaf, and blind. Since I was none of these things, you can only imagine what that did to my self-esteem. By the following year, the Lord had a ram in the bush, and his name was Mr. Nash! As long as I live, I will never forget the look in his eyes when he said to me, “you are smart, and you don’t belong here. I am going to do everything in my power to help you get into a regular classroom,” and he did just that! The following year I was placed in a regular 8th grade class. I realize now that was God speaking through Mr. Nash. I graduated and went on to high school. I am so glad that God knew the plans he had for me were plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a bright future.

Receiving my Honorary Doctorate has proven that anything is possible if you have faith in God and believe in yourself. I am thankful for all the great things I have accomplished in my life from what seemed to be a dark beginning. I am so glad that the light of Christ was shining on me during that time. WHAT DOES LIVING A LEGACY MEAN TO YOU?
“When I think of legacy, I am reminded of all that our ancestors went through so that you and I can be and do anything I dream of. In addition, I think of how God invested specific DNA (distinct natural ability) in each of us at birth that I believe puts us here on assignment. It is these thoughts that put fire in my belly to live as the highest and best version of who God created me to be so that when I die, I must make God & our ancestors proud by helping others have the opportunity to live in alignment with their assignment on earth.”

WHAT DOES RECEIVING YOUR HONORARY DOCTORATE MEAN TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY? “Receiving my honorary doctorate degree first humbles me to be recognized and celebrated for the 28 years that I have put into being a producer of purpose. It makes me excited to continue in the journey for the next 28+ years to live out my God given assignment. Additionally, I know it will also allow me to expand my territory. The opportunities that TIUA affords its graduates means that my work will expand beyond the United States to give people all over the world tools to live out their purpose and the fundamentals to create multiple streams of income from it.” Website: www.NicoleRobertsJones.com Email: Nicole@NicoleRobertsJones.com Dr.NicoleRobert Jones WWW.BLACKFAMILYMAGAZINE.COM

Among the most frequently asked questions, “What is your Why” might top the list. Especially entrepreneurs get this question a lot in different forms. Everybody has a different answer to it owing to their life story. If you ask me why I work so hard every day, I have a very simple answer to it i.e. for my family. Besides being my determination, my family is also my fuel and energy that keeps me going and striving for bigger things in life. A part of my soul; I don’t need a sticky note or an affirmation to remind me of them. They are the reason behind every step and every move that I make. Whenever I think about them, I just know what I need to do next; it’s literally as simple as that.

Always remember; we all grow together
I have a staunch belief that dreams don’t come true unless you have four qualities in you i.e 1) Hard work 2)Dedication 3)Persistence and 4) Consistency and this belief is what drives me every day I have a famous saying “The blessings are in the show up” which means you have to keep showing up no matter what. But having strong beliefs is not everything. You need to have a strong support system as well. A system comprising of people who push you daily, motivate you, and encourage you to serve your divine purpose daily. That's why when people ask me what my WHY is, they get surprised about how much love and support comes from my loving family: my two gorgeous daughters Kasandra Price and Aaliyah Price who inspire me every day with their achievements in life (they're both HBCUs graduates) and my amazing husband Bruce Price who never leaves my side and has always been there for me through thick and thin. One of the profound moments in my journey had been when I was nominated to receive an honorary doctorate degree at the TIUA. It gave me confirmation that my work all the things I've done over the years had mattered I felt like my efforts to help people to benefit from the same skills that I acquired had been recognized. Over the course of my journey; one thing that I've learned is that success is much more than generating revenue or making a profit. It's doing something meaningful and worthwhile and making sure you're helping others. That’s WHY I do the things that I do!

For me, living a legacy is about leaving a meaningful impact on the world long after I’m gone. It's about bravely facing my fears and striving to make a positive difference in the lives of those around me. Whether through my actions or words, it's about setting an example for others to follow and inspiring them to reach their full potential. More than anything, it's about setting my sights high and never settling for anything less than greatness. Every day I have examples of why we must create a legacy and LIVE our lives in excellence. My sister Jacqueline, pictured with the crown, is living with (MS multiple sclerosis), she has not let it stop or slow her down. She is my SHERO!

Empowering Your Family and Leaving a Legacy Building a positive and purposeful legacy is one of the most powerful things a person can do. Legacy is a transference of power and wealth to the next generations. It is your personal history, life experiences, and the knowledge you leave behind. If you’ve made an impact in your family's lives or your community, I think it is important to be remembered for what you’ve imparted into the lives of others. My grandparents raised me in a strong Christian environment with lots of Biblical teachings. They believed in leaving a legacy, and the scripture, “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Receiving an Honorary Doctorate from TIUA, Trinity International University Ambassadors, was a very rewarding experience. It truly gave me a sense of accomplishment for the work I do. It also reminded me of the sacrifices and moments I wanted to give up. I’m grateful for such an honor, The Humanitarian Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Two years ago, my grandmother passed away at 100 years old. I was very surprised to receive a nice amount of money she left me. It inspired me to focus on strengthening my business, building wealth, and empowering my four children to be great people and to build their legacy.
