The 2002 Montana State BCA Singles Championships were held October 18-20 in Billings. The calcutta was held Friday night at Bullwackers and qualifying matches were held Saturday at Charlie Browns and Bullwackers. The finals were played at Bullwackers on Sunday. Entries were up dramatically over last year in the men s division and the women s division held about the same. (BCA Singles continued on page 15)

Craig Arnold s Scotch Doubles Masters presentation: I usually just present the trophies and get out of the way but this time I d like to say something before I present this I ve known Ted and Jo Woodward since before they were Ted and Jo, and since then they have become the scourge of scotch doubles events everywhere. You won t find finer ambassadors for the game of pool, nor will you find more gracious competitors. It s about time the 2002 Scotch Doubles Masters Champions, Ted and Jo Woodward.

NWPA TOUR STOP #6 THE BREAKING POINT; LYNNWOOD, WA The Northwest Women s Pool Association (NWPA) held its sixth and final 9-ball tournament of the 2002 season on October 12-13 in Lynnwood, Washington. Despite it being the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday, four Canadians arrived along with 35 players from Washington, Oregon and Idaho for a challenging playing field of 39 women. Tournament Director Ted Woodward and assistant Dan Coffman again lived up to their fine reputation of running a timely and smooth event. The Breaking Point s owner Jonathan Denning hosted the event, providing his beautiful room, 14 of his fine tables, and a team of friendly staff Manager Jessica Penna and crew to tend to players needs. donated all quarters from the tables making the Scotch Doubles payout it s highest ever. TAP held their summer session Titleholders at this great facility and gave out over $7,000.00 in prize money and awards. Pool players came from Klamath Falls, Eugene, Corvallis and Salem to participate in the Team, Singles and Scotch Doubles events. Once again, Roger Weibrecht did a great job as the tournament director with the help from Theresa Ellenwood, Paul & Laurie Kinney, David Hopfer and a host of other players.
