13-14th, 2002. Jeanne was in fine form, sweeping the entire tournament without any match losses making her, solidly, the first place champion and winner of the much sought after paid spot to a WPBA tournament!

Spokane, Washington On April 13-14 McQ s Billiards held our spring edition of the Spokane 9-Ball Open. The field was a little light on competitors (48 to be exact) but in no way was it light on talent. Our friends from the north proved their metal again by placing 5 players in the top 8, not a bad percentage since only 7 Canadians came to play. Mike Vidas kept

SALMON SPRING CLASSIC

SALMON, IDAHO APRIL 5-7, 2002 OWNERS OF THE LANTERN BAR IN SALMON IDAHO AND THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR OF SALMON IDAHO S (l to r) JOANNE ASHTON, JANE PLANT,JANET DUNKS, 11TH ANNUAL MORGAN STENMAN SPRING CLASSIC 8BALL TOURNAMENT REPORT THAT IT WAS A GREAT SUCESS. WE HAD OVER 300 OUT OF TOWN GUESTS, WITH 154 OF THEM IN THE SHOW. OUR GUEST TRAVELED FROM CANADA, WYOMING, WASHINGTON, OREGON, UTAH, MONTANA,AND ALL OVER IDAHO. YOU WERE ALL CREDIT TO THE GAME EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU SHOWED CLASSY BEHAVIOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND ..SALMON HAS SET THE FIRST WEEKEND OF APRIL FOR THE 12TH ANNUAL SPRING CLASSIC .. Canada s win streak alive and counting. It marks the 6th time in 3 years that a player from Canada has won this tournament. I may have to change the name to the Canadian 9-Ball Open, or put a bounty on all Canadians. (Just kidding of course, because I love these guys.) Not only is the talent level extremely high, but also on a

Ellensburg, Washington, April 5th at 10:30 AM the W.A.M.O.A. trucks rolled into the parking lot of the Inn. The pool tables were unloaded and set up in the banquet room. A juke box two trivia games and lots of fun were delivered. The thousand pound tables were leveled with my staret level. Also set up at the event was a complete pool cue repair shop, with a very nice show of cues and cases thanks to Sean Finney of All About Cues. We had a cue raffle and Otis Stapleton of Spokane won a really great cue. Congrats to Otis. (Washington State continued on page 6)

Reno is on the horizon and Hard Times is the following week. Hard Times this year has guaranteed $5,000 to the winner of the Nine Ball event and $2,500 for the winner of the One Pocket with a $1,000 bonus to any player who can snap off both events. We at Hard Times would love to have

Mr. Horsfall and some of the other great Northwest players here. So we have an offer. If Mr. Horsfall would like he can play a $1,500 match on the Monday following Reno on Table Four at Hard Times. We are doing this because Table Four is featured in the upcoming movie Pool Hall Junkies . We felt that we could Corey Deuel promote the movie and give John the chance to make some expense money. He can play our good friend Corey Deuel.
