Lewistown – April 24-25, 2004 Getting to a tournament that is over 200 miles away can always be time consuming on back roads. I decided to take some extra time and drive the back roads that I haven’t driven for many years now. Leaving from Three Forks going to Townsend, White Sulphur, Harlowton then north

to Lewistown. Sometimes in our busy everyday lives we should stop to look and see what is around us. I had the distinct pleasure of getting behind a semi that was crawling up the canyon east of Townsend. APA Champions A Billiard Bonanza Crowned in Vegas Comes To Bozeman 2004 APA 9-Ball Shootout Singles Championship

Upland, CA 9-Ball 1st place Black Tier Frank Almanza

Three champions were crowned Saturday afternoon in the $100,000 APA 9-Ball Shootout. In the green tier (SL 1-3), it was Heather Bielen (SL 2) of Sebastian, Fla., defeating Katie Graham (SL 3) of Saginaw, Mich., 25-8. In the white tier (SL 4&5), Rex Swett (SL 5) of Lakewood, Colo., defeated Butch White (SL 4) of Merritt Island, Fla., 38-26. In the black tier (SL 6-9), Frank Almanza (SL 9) of Upland, Calif., defeated Bill Buysse (SL 6) of Creve Coeur, Ill., 75-23. Almanza advanced to the final round with a victory over Eric Tang (SL 9) of New Britain, Conn. Buysse advanced after a win over Fidel Sanchez (SL 7) of Stuart, Fla. (APA continued on page 20)

Steve and Sunshine Ross, managers, said, “There was really no place to go for billiard supplies that catered to the pool players. We will have a Golden West line of pool tables as well as custom log tables, all the top brand cues, cases, t-shirts, Aramith balls, racks, books, videos, DVDs, Master Chalk in all colors and Steve and Sunshine Ross g a m e r o o m accessories. Our pool tables will start under $1,900 and the high end will be over $14,000. Stop in when looking for a cue and hit a few balls with it before you buy it.” The store is Sunshine Billiard Supply and is located just off North 19th and Springhill Road at 1107 Reeves Road West in Bozeman.
