We are the Brandt 5!!! Bob and Kim, Tyler, Austin and Landon. We d like to let everyone out there know of our name change, formerly Jimmy G s Pool Hall for many years under the previous owner. We are now renamed, Big Sky Billiards. The name seemed appropriate as we are from Montana (Conrad, Shelby and Helena), the Big Sky state. It s nice to have a little piece of home (Brandt 5 continued on page 17)
tour available to more pool players, also establishing a 9-Ball Tour to meet the needs of all players. We couldn t have picked a better team than the good folks at The Break and Tour Coordinator Don Cheese Akerlow, to partner with. Billiards was included in the Big Sky State Games this year for the first time. The Big Sky State Games sponsors 34 events in an Olympic type setting with several thousand athletes competing. Medals are awarded to the top 3 places in each division of each event. Pool players came from around the state to support our first year and we appreciate all who played.
This was the 18th year for the Big Sky State Games. Billiards had a great first year and we are planning to be back next year with more events, more players and more medal winners. This year we had a youth division (under 21), 2 adult
women divisions and 2 adult men divisions. Bullwackers Billiards was the host site for the adult divisions and Breakers Billiards hosted the youth division. The Big Sky State Games staff is a class group, which provided us with great support. Thanks to Karen Sanford Gall and her crew for a great job.
