August 17-18, 2002 There was a great turnout for the second stop on the Western Women s Regional tour at Cuephoria in Carson City, Nevada. Thirty-two players were entered with five or six new faces to the tour. Michelle Rakin from Daly City, California cruised through her opponents undefeated. In the finals match she faced Kim Benson who took the match to hill-hill. Faced with a tough shot on the seven-ball Kim took her best shot, put on too much spin and scratched cross side which gave Michelle ball-in-hand to finish the game and the match. Revelina Morales had a good showing with her 3 rd place win. Newcomer, Jessie Killian (16 and daughter of Diana Sapphire) played well in her first tournament (placing 17th-24th) with a win over Lisa D Atri. The next tour stop is September 14-15 at the Broken Rack in Emeryville, California. (510) 6529808. We look forward to having fifty players at the next event , said Julie Hunter.
