S E S S A L C E S I C GROUP EXER THE BRIAR CLUB • SUMMER 2017 The Briar Club’s Group Ex program is a fun and fulfilling way to meet friends and stay in shape. Our Group Ex schedule covers a variety of fitness disciplines and popular classes, from Cycle and Barre classes to Yoga, Cardio, and Weight Training. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS WEIGHTS & SCULPTING BOOT CAMP: This military- style program that incorporates a circuit of drills ranging from running and jumping jacks to push- ups, squats, and core work. CORE CONDITIONING CLASS: A mix of functional movements, as well as core strengthening exercises, that help develop strength and aid in activities of daily living. CORE POLE: This class uses balance and stability work combined with large movement patterns, which enables the body to become stronger and more efficient in everyday activities. STRICTLY STRENGTH: A total body workout for those who are looking for a slow-paced workout utilizing weights, bands and balls interspersed with 1 minute cardio intervals. STRENGTH, STAMINA & BALANCE: A simple strength training class with cardio intervals to build cardiovascular health and improve balance. Perfect for the active aging adult or beginners. PEAK PERFORMANCE PLUS: An intense athletic and challenging workout that includes agility training, boot camp conditioning and functional training at it’s best.

CARDIO + RESISTANCE POWER SCULPT: Interval mix of low impact cardio plus intervals on the Human Sport strength equipment to keep your heart rate up and your muscles challenged.

CYCLE CYCLE +: Spinning burns serious calories, it offers an intense aerobic and anaerobic workout, and builds strength. You control your own pace, and you have time to get off the bike and lift weights if you’d like! CYCLE 45: Short and sweet 45-minute Cycling classes! Get in and get out!

CORE CYCLE: Gain core strength and balance training followed by an intense 30 minute ride. CYCLE + ABS: Enjoy a rigorous ride followed by a core workout. ULTIMATE CYCLE : Combines high-energy music with a fat-burning, dynamic workout that will leave your body tighter and your soul lighter.

DANCE CLASSES ZUMBA: A fun class that mixes dance choreography with Latin beats. A constant flow from move to move while you work up a great sweat. ZUMBA TONING: Created to emphasize muscle work along with rhythms, this combination of cardio and dynamic resistive exercises is an effective use of light weight training to improve your overall performance. ADULT BALLET: Learn the basics of Ballet in this traditional adult Ballet class.

MIND, BODY & BARRE MAT PILATES: Emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness, in order to support efficient, graceful movement. PILATES WITH PROPS: A unique Pilates class using the Pilates balls to build strength and balance for the core. PURE PILATES: Creates and restores balance to CORE muscles of the Abdominals, Shoulders, Back, Obliques, and extremities . TAI CHI: As an ancient Chinese tradition, it involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. HATHA YOGA: Developed in India, it’ an ancient system of breathing practices, postures, and meditation intended to integrate the practitioner’s mind, body, and spirit.

GENTLE YOGA: This is great introduction to the practice of yoga. Learn all of the body positions and breathing techniques. VINYASA YOGA: Yoga poses that are linked together to music; forming flowing sequences in varying length. HIT POWER YOGA: This class incorporates strength-training moves like squats, lunges and bicep curls using hand weights and high-intensity cardio bursts such as squat jumps and high knees, for a maximum calorie burning effect that is woven in and out your traditional vinyasa sequence . Boost metabolism and build lean muscle mass as you move to upbeat tracks! Room is heated to 85-90* MULTI-LEVEL HATHA YOGA: A balance between development of strength and overall flexibility. RECUPERATIVE YOGA: This is a safe and transformational yoga that benefits men and women of all ages and levels. It is a modern yoga class that is designed to restore and maintain our body’s physical and mental wellness. SIMPLY STRETCH: Try this very simple new stretch class. Feel the tightness of your muscles begin to relax almost immediately! BAND, BARRE & FLOW: This class is taken to the next level with bands and yoga for an increase in core strength, stability, balance and focus. BARRE3 : Barre2 plus pump that will tone your arms, thighs, abs and even lift your booty. YIN YOGA: Consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body. Yin Yoga is unique in that you are asked to relax in the posture, soften the muscle and move closer to the bone. POWER HOUR: The Power flow Hot Vinyasa style is a dynamic combination of strength, sweat and spirit. This accessible, challenging and flowing form of yoga will lead you to a state of transformation – it will sculpt, tone and hone the muscles of your body and mind.
