Editor’s Note + Behind the Scenes Where to Start Your Planning Blog Highlights Pinterest Love Instagrammers We Love 05
editor’s note Winter was coming for such a long time this year. We seemed to skip Autumn entirely, and land in the middle of a beautifully mild cold season. For those joining us from other parts of the world, let me paint a picture of our Sunshine Coast winter… Our days are sunny and warm with blue skies. The hinterland provides a welcoming crisp air, enough to warrant “rugging up” in jeans, a cardigan and perhaps a scarf. These wonderful wintery days (with any luck spent wandering the wineries) make way for snuggle-worthy nights and enough of a drop in temperature to justify a wood fire. It is truly heavenly and awfully romantic.

Down on the Coast, where I live, near the beach most days you would hardly suspect it was wintertime at all. Surfers and picnickers persist. Sunbaking is an uninterrupted pastime. I’m going to suggest something fairly controversial now, so get ready. I genuinely believe winter may just be the best time of year to marry here in our little piece of paradise. I know, huge call. Whether you’re with me on this or not, there is some winter wedding inspo to be found in this edition I’m confident you will love.

Bishop barked his direction from a comfy spectator spot between naps.
On our shoot at Willow Bud Shop we were joined by creative director, Bishop, and chief supervisor/star of the show, Dusty Miller.
Meanwhile Dusty Miller was up for being centre of attention. #modellyfe

Lavish Winter Wedding
In cooler months, Noosa River is an ideal wedding location with its warm windless days, and perfectly calm serene water. Our winter wedding shoot pays homage to the naturally beautiful tropical location with a lavish navy and copper colour theme.

Winter on the beach means rich luxe styling with luscious greenery in the circular ceremony garland arbour, along with magnolia leaf to offset the metallic copper elements continued throughout the styling. Hamptons chairs in a natural finish bring in the lavish feel, while natural bench seats add a touch of rustic.
14
16
Belladonna Lillies, Allium flowers and Blushing Bride complement and soften the use of Magnolia and Corokia sticks to anchor this bouquet and add a wintery richness. Lilac, white and green in the flowers enhance navy, one of the key colours used in the wedding theme.

Krystal wears “Harper by Erin Clare Couture, a lace and tulle mermaid gown featuring a plunging neckline and illusion back.

It’s all about the eyes, defined with cool brown and champagne tones, and dripping with lashes. Krystal’s creamy blonde locks are loosely pulled back and carefully constructed into a relaxed, yet elegant low chignon.

Drop earrings locally designed and made using genuine Swarovski crystals in a leaf design with necklace to match.

Black tie with a twist in a navy tuxedo with black lapels and bow tie, Tristan is dashing and youthful.
Garlands of greens progressed to the reception tables dressed in the colour theme of twilight navy, copper, timber and stone. Tropical fruit and winter fruit decorative elements met in a nod to the location and season, which in Noosa is unseasonably warm.

“Location was very important to us; we knew we wanted a very nice and elegant wedding. Maleny was where James proposed so it seemed like the perfect place to get married as well, and it was the middle place for a lot of people to travel to.

Enchantingly elegant with a pretty softness, Ashlee’s hair is pulled back to make way for her darling features with shimmering rose on the eyes and an exquisite raspberry lip. Sweet tendrils frame her face and continue in the back, drawing the eye to the descending curls and florals.

Amping up the glamour, reminiscent of that Old Hollywood glamour, which will never be out of style, Elise’s hair drapes elegantly at the front. In the back, her curls are pinned to perfection with perfect princess tiara placed to peek through the intricate twists.
