editor’s note It’s the second-most wonderful time of the year! (After the jolly season, if you were wondering.) My friends, Autumn is when I get my glad rags on, quite literally. I love nothing more than this prime opportunity for layering. Here on the Sunshine Coast, that basically means bringing cardigans and light scarves back in rotation and maybe – maybe – considering trading the old Birkenstocks for, like, closed shoes of some kind. Happiness obviously derived from the state of not hot, not cold – it’s the Baby Bear porridge of weather climates. Just call me Goldilocks.

What drew you to this career? I started out studying Botany at UQ, but missed the people contact a laboratory life seemed to attract. I was naturally drawn back to flowers and nature's beautiful textures and colours when I was after some mental stimulation while on maternity leave.
