T

his year I saw Christmas decorations for sale in Sam’s Club in late September! Yes, I was shocked. In fact, I was repulsed at the idea of starting to market Christmas before Halloween even though I realize that it is the biggest retail season of all. As I reflected on this (it took me several weeks), I realized that in spite of all the terrorist threats by Islamic radicals, Christmas is alive and well in the hearts of Christians in the United States and around the world. I know, or at least it is my position, that Christmas is the #1 holiday for retail sales. That made me think that it was not so bad that the Christmas items were on display so early. I can also tune out the Christmas music until I am ready for it, at least until after Thanksgiving. The fact remains that in spite of all the events on the world stage and places where Christians are being burned and beheaded for their beliefs, we WILL celebrate the birth of Christ, the Messiah, the Savior of mankind again this year. The festive lights, the parties, and the giving of gifts are symbolic of the love of God. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Now, that’s a reason to rejoice! There was a bright star in the sky that led shepherds to the stable where Mary gave birth to the Christ child leading me to see that in every festive light I see. The evergreen trees that we decorate are symbolic of everlasting life and the gifts represent the Gift of Jesus Christ that God gives to everyone who will receive Him. So when I hear Christmas music or see Christmas decorations or people hurrying off to shop or attend a Christmas party, I am reminded of all these things. And remember; if a passerby or friend wishes you a Merry Christmas, do not be offended because it is a condensation of the biggest blessing ever. I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas, enjoy all of the blessings of the season, and accept the best gift of all, the love of God through Jesus Christ.

Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson Celebrates 1st Anniversary On July 8, 2015, Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson celebrated our first full year of serving the greater Fayetteville community. During the course of the past year we have developed a close relationship with our community through supporting worthwhile community charity events, such as Cape Beard’s Dunk-a-Beard, which benefited Chambers For Hope and many others. It has been a tremendous honor to partner with many local riding organizations by offering the use of our grill on Saturdays in an effort to help them raise money for their causes. The impact these organizations have on the community is remarkable and we feel fortunate to have been able to support each group in affecting their causes in such a positive manner. Every Saturday at Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson our grill is available to any group who wants to volunteer their time as a donation opportunity. One such group, the Buffalo Soldiers, has consistently dedicated one Saturday each month in support of their charity and has raised more than $2200 this year. Their goal was not simply just to raise money, but instead to provide 125 local families in need with a Thanksgiving Dinner basket. This year’s annual event was held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Fort Bragg HarleyDavidson where each family was welcomed in to a centralized distribution point to pick up their holiday basket. Our relationship with the greater Fayetteville community has resulted in Fort Bragg HarleyDavidson being recognized as

one of Harley-Davidson’s top rated dealers. This recognition has provided Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson an opportunity to give back to the community that has so graciously supported us and helped us grow through the creation of more than 30 new full and part-time employment opportunities. Please come by 3950 Sycamore Dairy Road in Fayetteville, NC and visit our beautiful dealership. Thank you for a great year, we are excited and looking forward to the year ahead!

By: Kathy Johnson Are you trying to think of the best Christmas gift ever for that person who was naughty or nice? Well, I can save you some time. Widow Maker CDR has some new handlebars for you. The difference is a nice subtle change in the shape and the style. The wire route is easier and adds more options to baggers without having overly wide bars. All Widow Maker Custom Design & Repair custom handlebars are custom made to fit your preferences. The material is quality DOM 1-1/4 seamless tubing. They are available in chrome as well all your other favorite colors or one of my new favorites, hydro dipped with a ton of pattern options. The cost is friendly in my book at $225 (raw). If you want gloss or flat satin black they are $305. Some custom color choices could run slightly more, but are still very reasonable and depends on color choice. You’re probably thinking I can’t just take the bike in and get it done and still have the surprise element. That problem is solved for you by getting a gift certificate in any cash amount you would like. Contact Hank at NightTrain74@earthlink. net or 336-364-8535. Better yet, stop by 5582 Mt. Harmony Church Road in Rougemont, NC and let Hank show them to you in person. That, my friends, is Christmas shopping made easy for you this year. Currently Widow Maker CDR has a new shop bike build in the works. For those wondering about Hank’s charity endeavors this year, I am told I can give you a clue, so here it is. If I were you I would have my ten spot put up to buy a raffle ticket! Widow Maker Customs Hank, Anne, Dawson, Jimmy, Mildred, and Patrick would like to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

By: Skidz Bikers of South Carolina, with the help of Midlands Whisker Society, had a great turnout for the 2nd Annual Bikes And Beards Competition. The event took place at Quaker Steak & Lube in Columbia, SC on Saturday, October 24th with registration beginning at 12 pm and the judging kicked off at 3:30pm. This is the only event to bring together the bike and beard communities for a very important cause. Almost $4,000 was raised for the Fallen Riders Memorial Fund of SC. The Fallen Rider Memorial Fund is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to raising funds to assist the families of fatal motorcycle accidents. This fund is nationally known and has board members and chapters in almost every state within the United States. The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall By: Bill Gallaway My first visit to any of the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Walls was Friday, Sept. 11, 2015. I thought it would be a good way to pay my respects to those that gave all in Vietnam. The Wall was on the grounds of Asheville Harley-Davidson in Swannanoa, NC. When I arrived there was a crowd of about 40 people, to honor these fallen vets and pay their respects in spite of threatening skies. The rain held off during the time I was there. Seeing the wall in person had a profound effect on me. I was in awe of those names listed on the Wall and truly saddened. Along the walk leading to the wall there were various tents, some were information tents to help you locate your special name of your lost one on the wall. I was disappointed when the name I was looking for was not on the wall. The helper at the information tent said my friend might have passed upon his return home as a result of his service. In addition to the Wall, there were Vietnam era helicopters

on site, compliments of the NC Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Looking at the Wall with all those names both humbled me and gave me a greater appreciation of the sacrifices made by our vets. God Bless all of our men and women who serve and thank you.

Great For Christmas Gifts!

LATE MODEL & SERVICE SPECIALISTS Hwy 311 • Walkertown, NC 336-595-2210 By: Caroline Saturday, October 17 was a great day for a Fall Swap Meet and the folks at Just Hawgs at 5326 Walnut Cove Road in Walkertown, NC were ready! If you didn’t know, James Deal has a swap meet a couple of times every year, and they are well attended. There is no charge to bring your parts or anything you want to trade or sell out to the Just Hawgs Shop, just be prepared to meet a lot of great people. By time I arrived around late morning the parking lot was full. There was just about anything you think of regarding motorcycle parts - pipes, wheels, tires, all different size handlebars, grips, leathers, tanks, fenders - you get the idea - a good variety to look through. The added bonus is you have experts, James and Jim, to help you decide what will fit your bike. There were also some vintage antique items that would appeal to a collector. By noon, Dolores had a hot dog lunch ready. Everyone agreed, that she cooks the best dogs and fixin’s around. With cold weather and winter just around the corner, there will not be much opportunity to have another swap meet until spring. However, you can stop by the Just Hawgs shop for some great buys and be sure to see their ad in The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine for some special sales.

Veterans Day And BBQ Cook-Off At Ray Price Harley-Davidson By: Kris Weiss The Ray Price Veterans Day Celebration and BBQ Cook-Off presented by GEICO Motorcycle was a huge success despite the wet weather. The annual event, held at Ray Price Harley-Davidson, hosted six worthy contenders who came poised to compete for the $500 First Prize. The teams assembled the evening before for their cooks’ meeting and to start preparing their hog for the grill. Most of the teams put them in the oven around midnight and they all enjoyed the camaraderie and all the stories being told of their latest conquests. The next morning’s activities were full of excitement and good smelling BBQ being prepared as well as the Ladies of Harley Pancake Breakfast. Their breakfast raised money for their local LOH charities. The Rex Blood Mobile was in place and people lined up throughout the day to give the gift of life. The Dead City Symphony began to rock the stage at 11AM and played throughout the afternoon.

The BBQ judges, Andrew Ladner from the US Veterans Corps, Caanan James from RockinRoll SushiFusion, and Floyd Baker from Raleigh HOG were introduced and prepared their palates for the feast. For a $5 donation to the US Veterans Corps, the customers had a chance to sample all the entries. Also happening on site was a Private Owner Bike Sale where private sellers could show their bike and hope to make a sale. Plus, there were several folks who took part in the Used Parts Swap Meet selling all kinds of personal valuables. The eating, music, and activities went on for a while before the winners of the contest were announced. The biggest winner of the day was our veterans. Over $1300 was raised for the US Veterans Corps. This awesome organization does a lot of great things to help veterans. Check them out at http://myusvc. com/. The BBQ winners were; FIRST was Backdraft BBQ, SECOND was The Wicked Pig, THIRD was Lynnbank Porkers, and the always coveted People’s Choice went to Nik & Dick’s Chicken & Pickin. 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Toy Run Fundraiser By: Cindy Henderson, 2015 Statesville HOG Chapter Director Photo by: Alan Dockery Making Miracles Happen! That’s what the members of the Statesville H.O.G Chapter and local residents did on a dreary, rainy Saturday morning November 7th. Normally we have a Toy Run Ride of about 100 miles, but due to weather the ride turned into a Toy Run Drop at Tilley Harley-Davidson of Statesville, NC. Despite the change, the contributing atmosphere of everyone was their usual spark to the annual gift drive with the concept in their hearts of their mighty roar of a Harley-Davidson engine. One brave soul, a true diehard motorcycle rider, faired the rainy weather. Even though attendance was low this year due to the weather, thanks to all y’all it was still a success raising over $1000 plus all the toys for our event. The Toy Run/Drop allows us to provide gifts for children that otherwise would have nothing for Christmas. There is an undercurrent of concern for children less fortunate, and many of the HOGs gladly pay it forward to help the area’s needy children whose parents cannot afford to buy Christmas presents. This is our way of giving back. How can a kid wake up on Christmas morning and not have a present? On behalf of The Statesville Hog Chapter, I wish to thank

you, the participants and volunteers, with heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in giving of your time, toys, and monetary donations to help and support our 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Toy Run Fundraiser for the Celeste Henkel Community children. We could not have done it without your help. I pray for God’s sweetest blessings for you in return.

The 9th Annual Ride For The Ribbon By: Addie Best The 9th Annual Ride For The Ribbon was held on Saturday, October 10th at Eastern Radiologists Breast Imaging Center in Greenville, NC. This was the first year that the weather didn’t cooperate with us. One out of nine sounds like a pretty good run for weather in eastern NC. But being involved with the detection of breast cancer, the 1 in 9 statistic really hits home. It’s why we raise funds throughout the year and why we host Ride For The Ribbon. One in nine women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Donna O. a member of the Resurrection Riders is one in nine. To show support for Donna, to raise awareness and funds, her chapter made and sold “Ride For Donna” t-shirts. They raised $450 that they donated to Ride For The Ribbon because they wanted to help others in their fight against breast cancer. Donna is a survivor. Her loved ones were affected and joined the fight. There are many grandmothers, mothers, aunts,

sisters, and friends that are survivors and have loved ones that are affected and join the fight. Despite the overcast skies and eventual rain, $16,000 has been raised for Ride For The Ribbon. Those funds will be used in Pitt, Beaufort, and Lenoir counties to provide assistance to breast cancer patients. It took many generous hearts and hands to pull those funds together. We are so appreciative of all the volunteers and those who participated in the fundraisers, the local businesses that sponsored and donated items, and especially to the dedicated bikers who participated in the ride. For the one in nine, early detection is key to survival. When breast cancer is detected in the first 2 stages the survival rate is as high as 98%. Early detection happens through monthly breast self-exams beginning at age 20, talking with your doctor about your risk factors, and getting your annual screening mammogram. Follow The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine Cruisin’ Calendar for the date of the 10th Annual Ride For The Ribbon.

Product Review Secur SP – 4003 Winter usually means chilly weather, snowy days, and dangerous, icy roads. With holidays, family get-togethers, and daily errands, take the proper precautions this winter with the gadget that can possibly save a life. The SP-4003 Six-in-One Car Charger from Secur Products is the ultimate tool to keep handy this winter. The SP-4003 functions as a car charger, power bank, flashlight, emergency red flashing light, window breaker, and seat belt cutter. Light your way through a dark road, charge a phone to make an emergency call, break a window to escape from a trapped door, and even cut through a jammed seat belt with this single gadget. I got my Secur SP – 4003 and plugged it into a USB port on my computer for its initial charge. The blue glow and the flashing green indicator light told me it was charging and in no time, the green light was solid indicating a full charge. The Secur SP – 4003 has a 150 lumen flashlight at the push of a button that will last 4hours and a flashing red emergency light that is good for 10 hours of use. You can use the SP – 4003 as an auxiliary battery for your cell phone or a power source for your tablet or laptop. I have seen items like this that cost 3 times as much and would not

cut a seat belt or knock out a window. Visit securproducts.com/product-4003/ to learn more or to purchase your Secur SP – 4003.

Alamance County C.B.A. Celebrates 10 Years By: David “ Biker Dave” Blum, President, Alamance Co. C.B.A. On October 14th the Alamance County Chapter of the Concerned Bikers Association / A.B.A.T.E. of North Carolina celebrated its 10th year. The meeting was attended by several of the founding members as well as some members of other incarnations of this chapter from the past 30 years. There has been at least 3 different times that I have been able to track that we have had a C.B.A Chapter in Alamance County. The current one seems to be the longest living version and with the membership that it has, I feel it will be here for quite a while. The evening was not just a celebration party but also a monthly chapter meeting, so business had to be taken care of before the fun could start. The first order of business was to hold our chapter elections for the officer positions for our upcoming year. We welcomed a new Vice President in Bert Anderson and we kept Dave Blum as the President. Ron Namest will fill the Treasurer position and Richard Phillips will stay on as our Sergeant At Arms. Lisa Blum will continue on as our Secretary. We also welcomed a new member that night, who not only signed up, but also jumped right in with both feet and stepped into the Legislative Coordinator position, which was vacant. We would like to welcome and thank Bryce Morgan for joining the Chapter.

Our outgoing State President, Charlie Boone, who rode up from Raleigh to join our party, joined us on this special night. It was good to have him there with us on our special night. We gave out some Certificates of Appreciation to the folks who have helped this chapter continue to do the work for bikers rights that we do. The list of folks we gave awards out to was one that covered the list from business owners to individuals to the local Police Department. We presented The Rusted Bucket and Rack-n-Rolls with awards to show our thanks for them giving us a place to meet every month and always supporting our rides. We presented Butch Armstrong and Down Home Harley-Davidson with an Appreciation Award to thank them for all of the support they have given our events. From a place to start our rides, to raffle prizes and donuts for our participating guests, DH H-D has been such a friend to the Alamance County CBA. Awards were given to the Burlington Police Department Chief of Police, Jeffery Smythe, for his commitment to community safety and to Motor Officer Gary Elliott for his service and cooperation with teaching the Bike Safe N.C. motorcycle riders training class that we did back in August. We also gave our newest member Mr. Bryce Morgan an award for his support of every function this chapter has put on for the last 3 years. Bryce has ridden with us on every ride or has come hung out with us at every community event we have done. We wanted him to know how much we appreciated him. An Award was also handed out to our chapter brother Jason Puryear for his work for the last 2 years on planning the wonderful scenic routes that our chapter rides have followed. Jason’s choice of country roads and destinations has made our rides not only full of scenic countrysides, but also extremely safe and enjoyable. A topic of conversation I always hear when talking with the folks who join us for rides is always the fact that they felt very comfortable and safe when they rode with us. The last award of the night was one that I felt the most fondness for and that was the award given to all our chapter’s founding members. If they had not started this chapter with the dedication to fight for the rights of motorcyclists in this county and kept up the fight for all these years, I would not have the opportunity to be the President of such a great chapter of folks as I am now. The rest of the evening was spent eating cake and chips and dip and enjoying the brotherhood of this little group of some of the best friends I have. I look forward to another 10 years of this chapter fighting for the rights of ALL bikers in this county and state. Thank you to all the folks who made this possible.

Fried turkey, smoked turkey, ham, and all the fixings were free with a toy donation of at least $15. The toys will go to the Dickerson Children’s Advocacy Center and Nancy K. Christmas! By: Bill Gallaway Saturday, October 24th was the date for the first toy run of the 2015 season. The event took place in Seneca, SC, where cars and motorcycles gathered with toys strapped to their backrests and sticking out of saddlebags. The weather was very cooperative. Temps were in the 70’s with a slight overcast. The riders started arriving before noon for a 1:00 PM departure, which was escorted through downtown Seneca and headed to the Lighthouse Restaurant on Lake Keowee for a complimentary Taco Buffett. This annual parade helps underprivileged children receive a toy from Santa on Christmas morning. Bikers, again, showed their true colors by supporting the children at Christmas.

Hogs For Dogs Rescue And Bike Show Event By: Caroline Smokin’ Harley-Davidson in Winston-Salem, NC played host for a different sort of event on October 17th. These area animal rescue organizations came out with some of their incredible rescue dogs and cats: Forsyth Humane Society, Surry Animal Rescue, The Merit Pit Bull Foundation, Juliet’s House Animal Rescue, and SPCA of the Triad. It was a fun day that was also a chance for folks to contribute to these groups who give quality care to dogs and cats while helping them to find a forever home. Without extensive medical and general maintenance, many of these fine animals would otherwise be euthanized. While I did not adopt a new friend, I enjoyed seeing all the fine dogs that were brought out to the event. I was amazed at how calm they were with all the excitement and motorcycles coming and going! That would have been a great incentive for prospective bikers to find their forever biker buddy. This turned out to be a beautiful day where bikers had the opportunity to showcase their awesome machines. Their entrance fee and people’s choice voting fee all went to these groups to help with their costs. Congratulations to these winners of the Bike Show: 3rd Place - Neal Burton, 2nd Place - Frankie McCroskey, 1st Place - Joey Cooper who, in addition to a trophy, took home $100. This was just one of many events you will find each weekend at

Tilley H-D 43rd Anniversary Story and photo by Alan Dockery Old motorcycles run great on clear, cool days. So it was a nice day to ride to the dealership where many of us have bought bikes and had them serviced. Tilley Harley-Davidson in Statesville, NC, has been taking care of us for 43 years. Folks rode in all afternoon to hang out at the dealership for the anniversary. The Part Time Blues Band played while JD’s Market and Deli served up some real good hotdogs, chili and fixins. Terry showed me the cool custom gas tank he had painted to match Richard Petty’s classic blue #43 stock cars. About noon, Robinette Tilley, the guest we all hoped to spend a minute with, arrived. It’s so good to see her doing well and smiling with friends. I’ve seen her a few times this summer at the Ride For Robinette, Sunday Bash, and AMA Flat Track. “Mom is doing good and wants to be here when she can,” said Donna Tilley. “They got her in the hyperbaric chamber which should help healing. She remembers so many of the old customers who talk with her when she’s here. There’s nothing wrong with her mind. She remembers their names better than I do. We are so blessed and appreciative Mom is here for the anniversary. Y’all come on by soon for Christmas shopping.” We got in one of those Chamber Of Commerce moments and gathered folks for a photo. “We’re celebrating the 43rd anniversary of Tilley Harley-Davidson. Living the thrill,” said Kirk Ballard, president Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber Of Commerce. “The reason this

business has been here for 43 years is because of customer service, quality product, and dedication to business opportunities right here in this region. They are great community partners and we look forward to another 43 years of putting people on two wheels and on the road.”

By: Mark Carlyle Saturday, November 14th, The Carolina’s Full Throttle Magazine held the 1st bike night at Lake Town Tavern. The day started out cold as hell, and as the day went on it warmed up nicely. Lake Town Tavern is now Lake Norman’s newest biker friendly establishment. We started out with live music from Olde Number 7 Band. They rocked the house for 3 hours with all the favorite tunes and had everyone on their feet. Music started out with Darren as the lead singer, at 3pm a young Lady (Niki) took over and really give it her all! In between sets we had different things going on. The Carolina’s Full Throttle Magazine gave away lots of Full Throttle swag like T shirts, shot glasses, and much more. The corn hole tournament had 14 participants. First place went to Joe and JP who won a $30 gift card for the bar. Second place got $15, which went to Josh and Price. The beer drinking contest ended up with drinkers with wet heads as they tried to finish ahead of the others. Winners got a $300 gift card for the bar as well. At 4 pm the Coors Lite reps came in and gave away free beer for a while and also supplied the beer for the drinking contest. We also had Benny from Loup Creek Art drive down from West Virginia to show off and sell some great artwork. All in all we had 40 riders come in and many drove their cages to Lake Town Tavern’s first bike event. Jeff and his staff were just awesome and want to thank everyone who came out. They are planning more poker runs, bike shows, and many other bike inspired events for next year. GREAT JOB! Lake Town Tavern! With the awesome food and friendly atmosphere, Lake Town Tavern at 19708-K West Catawba Avenue in Cornelius, NC is the biker friendly place to be on Lake Norman.

The 42nd Annual Charlotte CBA Fall Swap Meet And Bike Show By: Mark Infield The weekend of November 14-15 was perfect weather for the 42nd Annual CBA Fall Swap Meet And Bike Show at the Metrolina Fair Grounds in Charlotte, NC. The air was crisp, the sun was warm, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. The parking lot was full of bikes and cars and there was a buzz coming from every corner of the event.

The 42nd Annual CBA Fall Swap Meet And Bike Show has become a tradition and a must do event. There are vendors galore, food and music all day, a bike show and other entertainment, and a recent addition of a full bar complements the day. This event is also a reunion of sorts. Many friends congregate in the food court and up and down the aisles sharing the “haps” of the recent past. Those of us who attend each year visit all the buildings, each with its own individual character. Many of the vendors set up in the same place each year, so it is also like a walk down memory lane. The bike show is held in its own building and boasts trophies and cash prizes for the People’s Choice winners. This year’s winners are: Side Car: 1st Place – Kent Scott. Modified: 1st Place – Brian Rhom. 3 Wheel: 1st Place – Steve Stirewalt. Radical: 1st Place – Ian Hoffner, 2nd Place – Bubba Morgan. Dresser: 1st Place – Slim Baucom, 2nd Place - Keith Swan. Exotic: 1st Place – Slim Baucom, 2nd Place – Pat Kersey. Antique: 1st Place – K.T. Custom Cycle, 2nd Place – Ian Hoffner. Bobber: 1st Place – Chuck Hamrick, 2nd Place - Randall Shaffer. Street Custom: 1st Place – Kimberly Cole, 2nd Place – Jay Wright. Competition: 1st Place – Adam Parker, 2nd Place – Raymond Cordray. Stock: 1st Place – Robert Cunningham,

2nd Place – Steve Schmidt. Best Display: Robert Cunningham. Peoples Choice: 1st Place ($500): Brian Rhom, 2nd Place ($300): Chuck Hamrick, 3rd Place ($200): Randall Shaffer. Congratulations to all of you. To see the pictures from this show and swap meet visit FullThrottleMagazne.com. Charlotte CBA also has a spring swap meet, which is held on the 4th weekend in March each year. Be sure to watch The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine Cruisin’ Calendar for the dates then mark it on your “to do” event list. If you have ever put on an event, you know how much work it is. If you haven’t, you have no idea! Many times those who work hard to “make it happen” do not get the recognition they deserve, so I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make the 42nd Annual CBA Fall Swap Meet And Bike Show a success. Women Who Ride Race

Janette Thornley Takes NHRA Pro Fuel Championship Story by Alan Dockery Photos by Matt Polito There ain’t many folks around here with a bike quicker or faster than Janette Thornley of Statesville, NC. That’s because she rides a seven-second, 180-mile-per-hour Pro Fuel Harley Drag Bike. In her fourth season racing, Janette outran the country’s best on her way to winning the 2015 National Hot Rod Association Pro Fuel Harley Championship. It came down to the season’s final race in the NHRA® Harley-Davidson® Drag Racing Series at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Short Line Express Gambler Shootout in Las Vegas. Janette took her Dream Chaser Racing/ Deschutes Brewery machine to the finals five points behind Dennis Fisher. Janette clinched the title as she advanced to the final round of eliminations, losing to defending Pro Fuel champion Johnny Vickers of Miller’s Creek, NC. She competed in nine 2015 NHRA races, finished the season with three number one qualifiers, four event wins and 623 points, 28 ahead of Fisher. Janette also competed in Manufacturers Cup and American Motorcycle Racing Association events. “Since the NHRA Sonoma race in July, Johnny Vickers is the only one to out run me,” Janette said. “He’s a great racer but everyone can be beat. 2015 is our fourth season and has been a big growth year for me mentally. I still have lots to learn, but I am finding I have better control of my thoughts and I’ve been able to build consistency in my riding because of it. Even last year my confidence wasn’t quite developed and I believe it hindered my performance. Don’t get me wrong, I get nervous before every pass and respect these machines tremendously, you have to, but I have confidence in myself and my crew chief husband, Buddy Foss.” Janette’s personal best elapsed time is 7.253 seconds at

Valdosta, GA in November 2014 and best speed is 185.15 mph at Woodburn, OR in August 2012. Pro Fuel bikes are cool machines. This is the small class of nitromethane-fueled drag race bikes with 121 cubic inch engines, single-speed no transmission, and gravity fed carburetor. Folks who can make these bikes run right have always impressed me. Growing up in McMinnville, OR, Janette lost her father and brother who were killed by a drunk driver when she was young. She recalls a great childhood, raised by Mom and an extended family of brave uncles. Small towns are nice active places to grow up and play volleyball and basketball. Her father had motorcycles before she was old enough to ride so she was not raised with them. While in her late twenties and working at T. Rowe Price her boss was approaching his 50th birthday and said he was going to get back into motorcycles. That made her think of her Dad and a guy in college with a bike and suddenly she wanted to ride. After a motorcycle safety course, she bought her first bike in June of 1996, an 883 Sportster. Why a Harley you ask? Janette said for no other reason than name recognition. These days she rides a 2012 Road Glide and is working on an old 1958 English Ford Anglia that her father had before he was killed. Apparently she was quickly a good rider and became an instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. That led to working for Harley-Davidson’s rider safety program. She left T. Rowe Price and moved to Wisconsin. Janette traveled around the country to the dealers promoting rider safety. Two shops that grabbed her attention were Ray Price’s in Raleigh, NC, and Johnny Mancuso’s in Houston, TX. Both were longtime, legendary drag racers and had drag bikes on display in their shops.

Women Who Ride Race Nitro Race Bike Quest About ten years ago Janette bought a Sportster with wheelie bars and air-shifter and tried drag racing a few times that summer. She soon sold the bike. Years later, attending an AHDRA race, she hung out with Ray Price and knew she wanted to race again. Janette is almost six feet tall and knew to be competitive she needed a powerful machine and started her quest to race a nitro bike. Ray invited her to Rockingham and some more races where her nitro goals got closer. Once she sat on a Johnny Vickers Pro Fuel Harley, Janette signed up for his class on how to ride and race nitro. She passed the class, qualified for the race that weekend, and was really hooked. Soon she bought a Vickers Hawaya Racing Derringer engine Pro Fueler. Carolina Harley Drags fans first got to know Janette when she partnered with Ray Price to race. She bought the race bike and Ray’s crew maintained it, transported to the races and helped tune. “Last September we relocated from California to North Carolina,” Janette said. “There was an open position out east and we were fortunate to be given the opportunity to relocate. We had set a goal to move east within the next five years to be with the twin grandbabies; they just turned one in November. Although the babies don’t talk yet, I’m affectionately known as Nitro Granny.” “I feel so blessed to have the opportunities I’ve been provided. Despite the tragedy in my life at age 6, I am determined

37

to live a happy and fulfilling life. If you noticed my racing jacket, it has Live, Love, Laugh, Believe, Dream, Hope, Reflect. Seems simple but it’s important there was some meaning behind what I’m doing and what drives me. I tend to dream big and be an optimist. It drives my husband crazy some days, but life is too short to hold a grudge or dwell on the past.” “We have two rescue fur babies of our own. CC is Casino Cat. River or River Dog is our Red Nose Pit. Someone found her by the river hence her name. She’s been a great asset to our family and fits right in at the track. The two of them get along just fine. “I have a dream of riding a Top Fuel Harley someday. When is that someday? I’m not real sure but as I’m a witness to, I’m dreaming about it and will be ready when that day comes! For now I will continue to ride my 2015 Hawaya Racing Products built machine. For 2016 we have plans to race in the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series and other local sanctioned events. As with many race teams, Janette is seeking sponsors. If you want to help this national championship winning team contact her at DreamChaserRacin@yahoo.com

By: Bill Gallaway Charles Landis, known to the biking community as ‘Squid’, passed away on July 9th, 2015 at his residence in Beaufort, SC. He was a charter member and Sergeant At Arms of STAR Chapter 379 in Beaufort, SC, a life member of AMVETS, the American Legion, and the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He served his country in the Navy for twenty years. He was on the USS Bucuna, the USS Blandy, the USS Yosemite, the USS Compton, the USS Norfolk, the USS Hyades, the USS 2:17 PM Essex, the USS Watson, the USS Vulcan, and the USS Mount Whitney (to name a few). Squid retired as a Senior Chief Fire Control Technician. Squid was a wonderful man of high dedication and utmost integrity and a friend to everyone he knew. He loved life and riding. He missed very few STAR events and was known by many from his travels to STAR events all over the country. You were his friend if you knew him for five minutes or five years. A memorial service was held on Friday, July 17th at the Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. The service was attended by members of many STAR chapters, the Patriot Guard Riders, friends, and relatives. On August 15th a memorial service was held in Squid’s home town of Hickory, NC. The STAR members of Beaufort asked his family if they could take Squid on one last ride and organized a group ride from Beaufort, SC to Hickory, NC and personally delivered his ashes to the family. He was joined on this ride by other STAR members and friends from Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, Lancaster, and Orangeburg, SC, Virginia Beach and Winchester, VA. At this service, a shadow box was presented to his family which contained an American flag that was raised in Squid’s honor in Afghanistan. This was arranged by Jeremy Webster, a member of the Charleston STAR chapter.

By: Kickstart & Donut In the spring of 2013, Bobby and his son Bradley of South Congaree, SC started to build a trike together. Helping his dad work around the garage was Bradley’s favorite thing to do. He had a passion to work on cars and bikes. Together they decided to build this machine from ground up with some help of a few good friends; Larry, David, and Scott. It stared with just a bed frame and a motor from 1997 z71 step side truck. They purchased the motor and bored it out to make 420 HP, with a 350 transmission. There are too many extras to list and a custom paint job. On 11-4-13 Bradley was involved in an accident that took him to ride with the angels. That put this hobby on hold for a while. Over the past several months Bobby decided to move forward to finish this journey and dedicate it to the memory of his son, Bradley. As time passed, Bobby has been around the biker community to show his work of art for the love of his son who also wanted to get this machine on the road. This trike was a part of several contests and it took 1st Place at the The Carolinas Full Throttle Magazine virtual bike photo shoot. This bike was solely devoted to Bradley Louis Jeffcoat, as the best thing a dad could do for his child. They had a bond so strong together that made the first ride live on forever. This bike will be seen all around and if you ask Bobby he will be pleased to let you sit down for a ride. This trike’s name is “The Bradley”, and your dad loves and misses you! Please ride safe and God bless all of us bikers.

Rocktoberfest 2015 A Benefit For SOAR By: Meredith W. This year’s Rocktoberfest was held at Ogden Tap Room and was one of the best organized and entertaining events to date with the kicker being that the entire event was put together by a team of 6 individuals. Special Operations Advocacy and Recovery (SOAR) is an all-volunteer organization where the individuals are personally involved with each family and veteran and they remain in contact even after financial goals have been met. These awesome people volunteer their time to help fill in the gaps where veterans and their family’s needs are not being met. berfest helped acquire not only therapeutic and recreational equipment for multiple families, veterans and children of veterans, but it was one rocking good time. There were numerous vendors, music by Sonic Spectrum, the Clams, and Whitney Pearsall as well as delicious food and 40 plus beer taps inside the Ogden Tap Room. There was a poker run earlier in the morning with registration location provided by Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson. A car show was also held in the parking lot at the event which showcased everything from old to new that you could install a motor in. Raising Raiders also participated in the event in order to raise awareness to support MARine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) families and I thought it was amazing to find out that SOAR also made a charitable donation to Raising Raiders the day of the event. A special thanks goes out to the SOAR team, all of the vendors who participated and sponsors including Steam Box Vape Shop, Hard Knox Cycles, Wilmington Power Sports, Flamming Amy’s, The Little Pig, as well as Fowlers Funflatables, who donated the bouncy houses for all the kids to enjoy. Thank you to the Ogden Tap Room for providing event location and Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson for sponsoring the poker run. Rocktoberfest 2016 already has a proposed date set for October 22. SOAR’s mission is to advocate for life. They pride themselves on the continuum of care they provide each individual long after initial contact. What they are doing deserves to be recognized and we hope to see everyone that could possibly make it to next year’s Rocktoberfest. These Bikes Wont Last Long!

Bonneville 1200

Street Twin 900

Thruxton R

430 N. Eugene St. Greensboro, NC 336-271-4774 SelectCycle.com

By: Kickstart & Donut On October 24, 2015 friends and family came together to help Robert Holiday out. His daughter, Christine Davis, was involved in an accident in 2013. Later on she was having headaches so they took her to the hospital as they thought it might be complications from the accident. On October 31, 2013 the doctors discovered an egg size tumor on her right temple, and determined it was Astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer. Christine went cancer free for 18 months. In April 2015 she went back to the doctor only to find it had returned. But they caught it in an early stage and then she had another surgery in July 2015. So, after all the surgeries, she has to travel to Duke Medical Center in NC every 2 months. Christine has 2 children 3 and 4 years old. A lot was put into this event that was schedule for October 3rd and then postponed because of the floods we had here in the Columbia area that made the roads unsafe to travel. Over $3800 was raised and we are still trying to get more support with donation jars at local businesses. All of the money raised will go to help Christine pay for an automobile to take her to her doctor’s appointments. The first bike out from T’s Country Bar was at 11:30 and the last bike in was at 5pm. We counted over 38 registered riders with lots of passengers and that did not include all of the drop in friends and supporters that came by and showed support and donated. Lots of special thanks go out to many. We can’t always remember all, but you just

can’t forget the hard efforts some people put forward into a great cause helping make it a successful one. Marty donated a guitar, Elsa donated a quilt, and lots of items were donated like leather jackets and a wooden bench. A big thanks to Denise Hallman, a Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine team member, who helped put this together with Southern Breeze Entertainment that provided the music. A 50/50 was done and donated back; 100 pounds of chicken was donated and cooked by Dewey. McEntire Produce donated slaw and tomatoes. An auction was held at the end of the ride. Stops included Tommy’s AKA T’s Country Bar, Jake’s Place, The Hideaway Bar, The Shack, Diamonds, and JD’s Too. Christine wanted to say thanks to all that came out. She was very pleased to see how much friends care. Glad to be your friends here at The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine.

Rob “Irish Wolf” Lacey Memorial By: Jeanie Hood Carter Many had the pleasure of knowing Rob through one of the various organizations he belonged to, volunteered for, and supported one way or another, or through Facebook. About 3 or 4 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Rob while he was standing guard with the PGR at a local funeral in Spring Lake, NC. I happen to have a BFBF tee shirt on and he asked, “What is BFBF?” I explained and a few weeks later, Rob showed up at one of the meetings and joined. Rob was a member of the PGR, Bikers For Bikers Foundation, and later a member of the Cape Beard, (Beard & Moustache) Club as well. Those of us who knew Rob knew of his passion for motorcyclists, veterans, and helping others even when he was going through some hardships and pain himself after being injured on a job. On October 24th, we stopped to grab a bite, before heading to an event, and got a call. A driver in a cage changed lanes, cut Rob off, and said, “I didn’t see him.” While avoiding being hit by the car, Rob went down. He had been on his way to a young friend’s funeral and did nothing wrong. Rob’s memorial was November 01, 2015 in Fayetteville, NC with many friends, family, and organizations attending while his PGR sisters and brothers stood line. Rob wasn’t a vet, but stood line for many. He was survived by a son and a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, many young people who looked up to him as a dad, 2 sisters, and a brother. On 11/07/2015 BFBF hosted a memorial ride for Rob. The ride started next to where Rob lost his life and was a beautiful 1-hour route through the countryside ending at Drifters Saloon for a final toast. His children rode along with his brothers and sisters who made the ride. He will be remembered for his unselfish support of other motorcyclists, vets, children in need, and his love of riding. He had the heart. We all cross paths for a reason. “The Irish Wolf” 4/11/1969 - 10/24/2015 RIP.

22nd Annual Bronson Run Story and photo by Alan Dockery It always warms my heart to see bikers turn out for a good cause on cold, wet days. It may not have been a great day for riding, but lots of folks showed up for the 22nd Annual Bronson Run held by the Hickory Riding Club. The day started in a chilly drizzle as bikers gathered at John’s Tavern. Some braved the wet and rode all day while plenty of folks drove in to show their support and play a few poker hands. It was a good thing there was plenty of room to park at the clubhouse that afternoon. The misty drizzle was just enough to run folks onto the porch or under the food cover once in a while. The Riding Club gave out a whole bunch of door prizes as the day wound down. Sunshine won the best poker hand, while guys were setting up the band on the front porch for that night’s party. The Bronson Run benefits the Catawba Regional Hospice and raised $3,500 this year. It also is a memorial ride for old friends. This year’s T-shirt list included: Bronson, Joe, Alan,

Steve, Killer, Boyce, Dick, Butch, Shook, and Tank. This is one of the big summer rides in the Hickory area and one you should make it to. Folks camp at the clubhouse the night before and bring their instruments to jam into the night.

By: Bill Gallaway On August 29th, the Gold Wing Road Rider Association of South Carolina held a Plaque Attack in Aiken, SC which requires members and their guests to attend a meeting, an Eat and Meet, in order to gain points which are calculated by multiplying the number of participants riding with the specific chapter by the “Point to Point Miles’ from meeting place to meeting place of the chapter making the attempt, then by the “attempt multiplier”. It’s a convoluted math problem for which there is not enough space to detail here, but it seems to work and everyone enjoys the process. I’m proud to say that I was in attendance when the Plaque was awarded to the “Clemson Chapter 1”. Now, if they can keep it, is another story. There are Plaque Attacks almost every month. If I make it to another you will read about it here.

Ride For Dakaylee

By: Wally Wersching On October 24th, the Carolina Faith Riders held a benefit ride for Dakaylee Lynch. She’s a little girl who was diagnosed with three glioma brain tumors. The money raised will help the family travel to Duke University in Durham, NC for her treatments. Her tumors are believed to be genetic, and inherited from her father. Her brother has a similar condition, and her father has already died from it. It’s a pretty serious situation with very little hope for a cure. I awoke early Saturday morning to see overcast, chilly, and damp conditions. It looked like it would start to rain any minute, but later I checked the radar and there was no rain anywhere around us. I decided to go, and dress warm even though the Rutherford County Moose Lodge isn’t that far from home. I arrived at a little after 10AM to see only a few motorcycles in the lot. I knew that there would be a lot more if the weather would have been better. I started talking with some friends. The band “Blues Underground” was setting up in the hall. Everyone was getting ready for the ride and the party afterwards. I learned that Dakaylee was there, and I asked if I could take her picture. She was all smiles as she posed with her mother. It’s hard to tell that she has such a serious health condition. A few minutes later, Dakaylee got a ride around the parking lot on one of the motorcycles. I didn’t know if she had ever been on a motorcycle before, but she took to it like she was born to it, hanging on with both hands with a smile that would melt your heart. After a while, the ride was getting organized. One of the lady riders rode in on her

new blacked-out Harley Street 750. I leaned that she was just starting to ride. It was her first bike. As we were checking out the new Harley, we noticed that one of her mirrors was loose, so loose that it was spinning when she rode. She said that it was a bother but she was getting used to it. That’s when a couple bikers came forward to fix the mirror. They had it tightened in no time. Who said that chivalry is dead? It’s alive and well in the Carolina biker community. After her bike was fixed, it was time to go on the ride which was to be an easy all back roads 50 mile ride through the Carolina countryside with only four right turns. It would be in a group without any police escort. There were about 25 bikes ready to leave when they gave the command to start the bikes. There was a loud roar that echoed off the surrounding hillside, which got Dakaylee jumping with joy. It took a few minutes to leave, and the busy Route 74A was blocked off to let everyone leave as a group. After they all passed, I headed home to take Cindy to lunch. If anyone wants to help with Dakaylee’s medical bills, please contact Nicole Peavy at 704-4777967 or Darrell Toney at 828-429-5249. They can use all the help they can get.

Greenville Chapter Star Touring And Riding Association 10 Year Anniversary

By: Bill Gallaway On Saturday, September 19th, the Greenville Chapter of the Star Touring and Riding Association held their 10 year anniversary celebration in Powdersville, SC. There were 74 attendees who took advantage of the fantastic weather to ride from as far as Charleston, Beaufort, Summerville, Columbia, Lancaster, and Sumter, SC. We enjoyed the food truck from Henry’s Smokehouse with some of the best BBQ I’ve ever tasted. We also had music provided by a DJ. Meanwhile, there were prize drawings and demo rides going on, while helping to raise $1,000 for the DAV. A good time was had by all, and until then next ride, keep the shiny side up!

Octoberfest At Smokin’ Harley-Davidson

By: Caroline October 31st at Smokin’ HarleyDavidson was a lot of fun and the event that everyone around here looks forward to. All of the folks at Smokin’ Harley-Davidson were dressed in their Halloween best with everything from ballerinas and muscle men to Boy George and the hippie. There was music by Jack of Clubs, plenty of food and vendors, not to mention special deals going on all day in all areas of Smokin’. The best part of the whole day was the prizes that were raffled off every half hour from 10 am until 3 pm. A ten dollar raffle ticket got you a chance at prizes such as $100 cash and gift cards, Harley-Davidson merchandise and of course the grand prize a 2015 Heritage Softail motorcycle. Of course, everyone’s conversation up to that time is who could give the best acceptance speech and how they were going to pose for their picture when they won the bike! This year’s winner had to be the most mysterious one yet. When the winning ticket was drawn and announced it simply had the name “Katrina” and a phone number on it. Since one does not have to be present to win, HOG Chapter President, Pat Kelly, called the number and to everyone’s surprise, the person identified as Katrina said that she was currently in Germany on vacation! Well, Katrina

BOMAR’S Klassic Kustom Works Motorcycle Church was certainly happily surprised that she was the winner of this bike and would be by as soon as she got back home. Even though there were plenty of winners at this year’s event, proceeds went to help local charitable organizations who were winners too: Clemmons Food Pantry, Horizons Residential Care, Wake Forest Baptist Health, and Kids of Childhood Cancer. Also, the Winston-Salem HOG Chapter really worked hard at making this one of the most successful events of the year. They planned everything from start to finish, selling tickets, cooking food, and setting everything up. Keep checking at Smokin’ Harley-Davidson for more great events to come this year!

Ray Price Race Team Captures 2nd Championship In A Row! By: Kris Weiss: The 2015 race season was not without drama and excitement for the Ray Price Race Team. The team spent the winter months working long and hard on designs, plans, and motor and chassis improvements. Housed at the Ray Price Harley-Davidson dealership in Raleigh, NC, the Ray Price Race Shop is buzzing year round with technical activities that go in to producing a championship winning team. After an off-season that resulted in some very good test runs for the unbridled beast, the Ray Price drag bike made the long trip to Pomona, CA for the first race of the season. Expectations were high going into the race weekend. It looked like all the hard work had paid off as they qualified number one for the race. Unfortunately, the start to the season would end in disappointment as the team red-lighted and went out in the first round. The long ride home resulted in a lot of soul searching for the disappointed team. The next race in Belle Rose, LA resulted in another number one qualifier and their first win of the season. The next two races resulted in two more number one qualifying runs but both races were lost in the semi-finals. The bike was fast but they needed more than speed to win the championship. The following four races not only produced all number one qualifiers but four solid wins as well. The last of those four races locked up the points battle for the NHRA Top Fuel Championship at Bristol, TN. The rest of the season would appear to be all downhill but it wasn’t without its challenges. After qualifying number one at Sonoma, CA, the rest of that pass brought disaster to the team. As Tommy Grimes posted a 6.48 seconds at 224 mph, a fellow rider drifted over into Tommy’s lane and ran up the back of his bike, on the wheelie bar and into Tommy. The other rider ended up separating from his bike while Tommy managed to control the bike and bring it to a stop. The bike was too damaged to continue that race and the team headed back across the country to home base in NC. In October, an exciting match up in a non-points race took place at Rockingham, NC, the home track of the Ray Price team. The current IHRA champion, Jay Turner, was squaring off against the NHRA champion, Tommy Grimes of the Ray Price Race Team. The story couldn’t have been written any better. Along with qualifying number one for the weekend and setting a track record of 6.157 seconds, the two champions went to the line in the final round and Tommy came away the

winner beating Turner by .028 of a second. Despite the slow start, 2015 turned out to have a lot of highlights for the Ray Price Race Team including 10 number one qualifying runs (all but one race), six wins and an ET record at Ray’s home track. Spokes & Jokes

The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine staff screens hundreds of jokes each month. We make no claim to being politically correct. Most PC jokes just aren’t funny. If you are offended by any of the jokes on this page, take heart in the fact that we go to great lengths to offend everyone equally. This is not a hate crime! At our house we call it “pickin” and it is symbolic of your acceptance in the group. We live in the United States Of The Offended, so get over it!! Four old-timers were playing their weekly game of golf, and one remarked how nice it would be to wake up on Christmas morning, roll out of bed and without an argument go directly to the golf course, meet his buddies and play a round. His buddies all chimed in and said, “Let’s do it! We’ll make it a priority, figure out a way and meet here early Christmas morning.” Months later, that special morning arrives, and there they are on the golf course. The first guy says, “Boy this game cost me a fortune! I bought my wife such a diamond ring that she can’t take her eyes off it.” Number 2 guy says, “I spent a ton, too. My wife is at home planning the cruise I gave her. She was up to her eyeballs in brochures.” Number 3 guy says, “Well, my wife is at home admiring her new car, reading the manual.” They all turned to the last guy in the group who is staring at them like they have lost their minds. “I can’t believe you all went to such expense for this golf game. I slapped my wife on the butt and said, “Well Babe, Merry Christmas! It’s a great morning for either sex or golf. And she said, “Take a sweater”.

the hinge?” Mary shouted back, “No, but I will for the faucet.” This is why you can’t send a woman to the hardware store. The New Generation: Daughter: “Daddy, I am coming home to get married. Take out your checkbook. I’m in love with a boy who is far away from me. I am in California and he lives in New York. We met on a dating website, became friends on Facebook, had long chats on Whatsapp, he proposed to me on Skype and now we’ve had two months of relationship through Viper. Dad, I need your blessings, good wishes, and a big wedding.” Father: “Wow! Really!! Then get married on Twitter, have fun on Tango, buy your kids on Amazon, and pay through PayPal. And if you get fed up with your husband, sell him on Ebay.”

Bob.” “But I thought you hated Bob,” she said. With his last breath John said, “I do!” An elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, “Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.” The gentleman replied, “Oh, I haven’t told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I’ve changed my will three times!”

S E K O P S & S E K O J

Apparently it’s no longer politically correct to direct a joke at any racial or ethnic minority, so: An Englishman, a Scotsman, an Irishman, a Welshman, a Ghurkha, a Latvian, a Turk, an Aussie, two Kiwis, a German, An American, a South African, a Cypriot, an Egyptian, a Japanese, A Mexican, a Spaniard, a Russian, a Pole, a Lithuanian, a Swede, a Finn, an Israeli, a Dane, a Romanian, a Singaporean, an Italian, a Norwegian, a Libyan, a Muslim, a Hindu, a Buddhist, and an Ethiopian went into a night club. The bouncer said, “Sorry, I can’t let you in without a Thai.” Charlie was installing a new door and found that one of the hinges was missing. He asked his wife Mary if she would go to the hardware store and pick up a hinge. Mary agreed to go. While she was waiting for the manager to finish serving a customer, her eye caught a beautiful bathroom faucet. When the manager was finished, Mary asked him, “How much is that faucet?” The manager replied, “That’s a gold plated faucet and the price is $500.00.” Mary exclaimed, “My goodness, that’s an expensive faucet and certainly out of my price range!” She then proceeded to describe the hinge that Charlie had sent her to buy. The manager said that he had them in stock and went into the storeroom to get one. From the storeroom the manager yelled, “Ma’am, you wanna screw for

As I was just coming home and worrying about all the stuff going on in my life, my family’s lives, my friends’ lives, and what’s happening in Washington, Moscow, Ukraine, the Middle East, Jeb, Trump, Fox News, the downgrading of our military, the terrorists infiltrating our border, the illegals, the refugees, and how our country is rapidly losing its sanity and its Christianity, I saw a yard sign that said: Need Help? Call Jesus 1-800-555-3787 Out of curiosity and desperation, I called the number. A Mexican showed up with a lawn mower. She desperately wanted a pair of beautiful alligator shoes. After becoming very frustrated with the attitude of one of the shopkeepers, the young blonde declared, “Well, then, maybe I’ll just go out and catch my own alligator and get a pair of alligator shoes for free!” The shopkeeper replied with a sly smile, “Well, little lady, why don’t you go give it a try?” The blonde headed off to the swamp, determined to catch an alligator. Later in the day, the shopkeeper was driving home, and spotted the young woman standing waist deep in the murky water, shotgun in hand. He saw a huge 9-foot gator swimming rapidly toward her. With lightning reflexes, the blonde took aim, shot the creature and hauled it up onto the slippery bank. Nearby were 7 more dead ‘gators, all lying belly up. The shopkeeper watched in amazement as the blond struggled with the ‘gator. Then, rolling her eyes, she screamed in frustration. “Son-ofa-b!!ch!! THIS ONE’S BAREFOOT TOO!” John was on his deathbed and gasped pitifully, “Give me one last request, dear,” he said. “Of course, John,” his wife said softly. “Six months after I die,” John said, “I want you to marry

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, “Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?” Her mother replied, “Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white.” The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, “Momma, how come ALL of grandma’s hairs are white?” As a trucker stops for a red light, a blonde catches up. She jumps out of her car, runs up to his truck, and knocks on the door. The trucker lowers the window and she says, “Hi, my name is Heather and you are losing some of your load.” The trucker ignores her and proceeds down the street. When the truck stops for another red light, the girl catches up again. She jumps out of her car, runs up and knocks on the door. Again, the trucker lowers the window. As if they’ve never spoken, the blonde says brightly, “Hi, my name is Heather and you are losing some of your load!” Shaking his head, the trucker ignores her again and continues down the street. At the third red light, the same thing happens again. All out of breath, the blonde gets out of her car, runs up and knocks on the truck door. The trucker lowers the window. Again she says, “Hi, my name is Heather, and you are losing some of your load!” When the light turns green the trucker revs up and races to the next light. When he stops this time, he hurriedly gets out of the truck, and runs back to the blonde. He knocks on her window, and as she lowers it, he says, “Hi, my name is Kevin, it’s winter in Nebraska and I’m driving the SALT TRUCK!”

The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine

Christmas Or Xmas? Greetings brothers and sisters. It’s hard to believe but December is here! I’m sure we all ate too much at Thanksgiving, but that’s OK, right? Christmas time is upon us now and we have opportunities to help children who might not get much have a better Christmas morning. Thanks to all who give in the toy runs and other benefits to help out, after all it’s what bikers do. In the word of God, Matthew 1:18 says, “Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother, Mary, was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost… 21: She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Now that’s pretty heavy stuff! A woman having a child conceived from the Holy Ghost!! Why then do so many try to take Christ out of Christ-mas? Why, I’ve even seen churches use xmas on their signs. Maybe it offends some people. Well, that’s

too bad. The word “Christ” means savior while in the Greek “mas” means more. Christmas stands for “more Christ.” “x” is typically used to describe no. So doesn’t that make x-mas mean “no Christ?” Merry Christmas everyone. Remember, when all else fails, try Jesus the Christ. That’s why He came. In “HIS” wind Popkorn

Meisam Shodja By: Dean & Darla Summers Sunday, November 1st, even though it was a wet and gloomy day in Augusta, GA, about 150 people attended the event to show their support at Andrew’s Place on Fury’s Ferry Road. About 10 bikes signed up for the free ride and the others rode in their vehicles. Meisam Shodja, who was a friend of J.D.’s and rode with him, started the annual ride, now going on its 4th year. They had food, drinks, various venders, and the band Square One played. This year they collected canned foods, clothes, and money, which will be used toward purchasing turkeys for the homeless this holiday season. We thank people like Meisam, all the others involved in making this event happen, and those who take the time to go to and support through donations to help others in their community. Other sponsors were Andrew’s Place, Davis Appliance, Augusta Harley-Davidson, radio stations 93.9, 98.3, and Kicks 99 (which had a live broadcast from there). I R I DE

Harley-Davidson Of Greensboro Customer Appreciation Day By: Mark Infield Hanging around the Harley shop on Saturday morning is a time honored tradition, but when you add free coffee and donuts and then hotdogs for lunch, it is special. That is just what happened at Harley-Davidson Of Greensboro on Saturday, October 24th. To begin with, it was a beautiful day to ride. This time of the year, I call days like these “Bonus Days” because we cannot be sure how many more really nice days we will get. There was a steady stream of people through the dealership. Some were there for service and some were browsing through the MotorClothes® department and others were lined up at the parts department. Those that came by were also lucky enough to score a free hot dog lunch. I saw Sharee Sloan bustling about keeping the hot dogs and iced tea stocked up. Several of the Chrome Knights M/C from Fayetteville were in town for the A & T State

University Homecoming and stopped by Harley-Davidson Of Greensboro for a visit. I suspect the free hot dogs were a bonus for them. The buzz was not confined to the parts counter or the service department. Reade Fulton and the sales staff were pointing out the new features on the 2016 model Harley-Davidson motorcycles and Chunk’s Hawg Haven was open to provide cold beverages and sports on the big screen TVs. Even if it isn’t Customer Appreciation Day, Harley-Davidson Of Greensboro at 538 Farragut Street (I-40 Exit 220, Randleman Road) is a destination dealership and worth the visit.
