Letter From The Editors
ell…Here We Go! livinG tHe Full tHrottle liFestyle makes for a busy schedule, and you’d think that as summer winds down, so would the events. Think Again! Fall is just as crazy as the spring and there are a ton of big events on the horizon, including a four more Full Throttle Bike Shows in 2024! By the time you are reading this you should be packed and ready to go to The Original Chopper Party - Smokeout 24 in Salisbury on September 5-8. Next up we will be at Outer Banks Bike Fest on Sept 18-22 with a bike show on Saturday Sept. 21. Mayhem In Midway 4 kicks off the very next weekend in Lexington, NC and about the time we recover from that It’s time to hit up Myrtle Beach for the Fall Rally! Our annual Fall Rally bike show at Bubba’s Bar and Grill in Myrtle Beach is October 5th. Speaking of Myrtle Beach Bike Rally, check out our Fall Rally Hot Spots near the centerfold of the magazine. We will be partying at Bubba’s, Pop’s Place, The Rat Hole, Thee Dollhouse, taking Indian Motorcycle Demo rides at Coastal Iron in Murrells Inlet and buying all our Bike Rally shirts from Some Wear! That sounds like a month-long party! So, check out the Cruisin’ Calendar and make your plans to come party with US! Our bike shows and events are marked on the calendar by the yellow boxes!
Most of our events are presented by our friends at The Carolinas’ Biker Lawyers and they are featured on this month’s cover. Bob and Sean have been spotlighting the motorcycle communities’ unsung heroes for over a decade with the Bulldog Hero award. This year they are changing it up a little. They rebranded their community efforts as the Bulldog Foundation and instead of honoring individuals they are looking for you to nominate local charities that are making an impact. The Carolinas’ Biker Lawyers are invested in the motorcycle community with one mission, to give back and make a difference. Check out the details on page 4-5 in this month’s magazine.
As always, the Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine is packed with biker friendly businesses that are rolling out the red carpet for YOU. Take a look through the magazine and take advantage of all the deals! Pick out some new places to ride or events that you’ve never attended. Above all take advantage of the southern fall months and ride the tires off your bike. We will see ya out there!

into
motorcycle community a few years ago in a little shop on Old West Innes St in Salisbury. Owner, Brandon McNeely put together a team that is more like a family and has made Blue Collar Cycle Company a household name. The little shop on Old West Innes St. kept expanding in the last couple years, Brandon acquired bit by bit the buildings around the original shop until Blue Collar Cycle Company assumed most of the block. There is expanded show room, service department, apparel, financing, insurance, detailing and an enough room to throw bodacious bike nights. The bike nights are legendary, with street parking, live music, food and a huge crowd on the third Thursday of each month. It’s fair to say that Blue Collar has a cult following, I see their shirts, hats, stickers and sold motorcycles all over the state. So, it wasn’t surprising when Brandon started looking for a second location.
That location ended up being in Hickory, NC. Brandon and his team found a building that suited their needs. Again, with plenty of showroom for the revolving door of used motorcycles, a service department, apparel and room to expand as that location grows. July 20th was the open house for the new location, and it was a beautiful day to take a ride. The backroads from Thomasville to Hickory provided 70 + miles of beautiful riding and when my bud Travis and I rolled in to Blue Collar’s new location, there were already a pile of bikes in the parking lot. Even with a lot going on that weekend and the weather guessers calling for some afternoon showers, the Blue Collar reputation proceeded itself. Mojo Stomp, one of our favorite bands and the Blue Collar house band for the Salisbury location, was rocking out on the loading dock and the party area was surrounded by vendors. Brad Gandy was keeping the crowd fed. Brad is THE BBQ guy, like if you want good BBQ you get Brad to cook for you and he had outdone himself again. We got a tour of the new facility and had to stop in on Clyde Eller’s office. Clyde is a solid, old school biker and heads up the sales department at the Hickory’s Blue

Collar Cycle Company. Clyde has been selling motorcycles in the area for years, he can get you on the motorcycle you want and will do ya right. The tour ended in the showroom. There was an impressive selection of used bikes and a bar! It was a popular spot. We even got to hang out with Kristin and Jocelyn the Carolinas’ Biker Lawyer girls. It was a good day. We decided to head home while the weather was good. We didn’t out run the rain for long and ran through some big fat rain drops. Damn we got soaked! But getting wet on the way home is better than getting wet on the way there. The whole day was a blast, and I got a shower too. If you are looking for a previously enjoyed motorcycle, need service work done, or a place to hang out, you need to get yourself to Blue Collar Cycle Company in either Salisbury or Hickory, NC. Basically, for a good time call Brandon.

Boone MotorCo Soul Food Saturday
By: RoB HaRpeR
uly 27 Was soul Food saturday at Boone MotorCo. The weather cooperated with high temperature at 85, and lower humidity than previous days. Slightly overcast skies gave a little shade, so it felt pretty good for late July in eastern NC. The event was scheduled from 1-5. There was a good size crowd with people coming and going the whole time. Jolly’s Food truck was there with an extensive menu, keeping people well fed. I had the sausage with peppers and onions, good stuff. Tar Banks Brewing kept the thirst away with a variety of choices. Boone was showing off his new speaker system and a good selection of pre-owned bikes was on display. Boone MotorCo plans to have a monthly swap meet, plus another event or two each month. Be sure to check out the Cruisin’ Calendar for details and get the latest updates from Boone MotorCo Facebook page. If you are looking for your next bike, need service or parts, or just want
to talk bikes be sure to stop by Boone MotorCo on US1 just south of Franklinton. They are open Tuesday – Saturday.
Dillon’s Ride 2024
By: JeRRy andRews
erGeant dillon C. baldridGe From younGsville, North Carolina was killed June 10, 2017 while serving during Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. His death occurred in Peka Valley, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. At the time of his death, Sergeant Baldridge, 22 years of age, was serving with D Company, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY. Baldridge had earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5) months prior to his death. But, because his unit was deployed, they were unable to have his promotion ceremony.
Since 2017 a small but dedicated crew have vowed to keep Dillon’s name alive and celebrate his sacrifice on an annual basis. Dillon’s Ride evolved from that concept. Consequently, Patriot Guard Ride Captain Benny Hayslett and Allen Hudson along with Dillon’s mother, Tina Palmer have formed the Sgt. Dillon Baldridge Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. - a 501(c)(3) non-profit. This Scholarship Fund has been established to provide a non-repayable scholarship to the siblings
of our American heroes that have lost their lives while actively serving in the Armed Forces of the United States, Dillon’s Ride, financially supports this fund exclusively.
On June 21, 2024, the dedicated riders lined up at the event’s key sponsor, Cross Roads Harley Davidson of North Wilkesboro, NC. Clouds threatened to spoil the ride, however, we set out for Ashe Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Jefferson. Riders started out in the foothills of NC in Wilkes County and enjoyed a meandering, climbing ride up scenic Hwy. 16. As the riders followed Hwy. 163, they crossed over the New River with a light rain falling. The riders then proceeded along Hwy. 16 to Hwy. 221 and on to the cemetery. Riders turned into the Laurel Springs Volunteer Fire Department for a quick break and much hospitality. Everyone was appreciative for an escape from the rain and for the refreshments. The blue skies only played peek-a-boo as rain fell on our journey towards Ashe Lawn Memorial Park in Jefferson, NC. There, the liquid sunshine greeted us at Dillon’s grave in abundance!
Riders lined up adjacent to Dillon’s grave site, prayers were offered, the Honor Guard from the Sparta VFW fired a 21 Gun
Salute and Taps were played. During the visit at the graveside, friends, family and a former member of Dillon’s unit paid their respects at the grave of the fallen soldier. Dillon’s mother, Tina, with Dillon’s teammates, laid a beautiful patriotic wreath at the grave. With the rain falling, riders departed the cemetery, making their way back towards Deep Gap, crossing the U.S. 221/U.S. 421 overpass dedicated to Sgt. Dillon C.
Baldridge. The signs marking the overpass as the Sgt. Dillon C. Baldridge Bridge had once again been adorned with patriotic buntings and flags posted on both sides of each sign on the bridge. After exiting the bridge and heading south on Hwy. 421, riders once again crossed over the Eastern Continental Divide and participants were treated to the magnificent views of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain Range. All riders returned safely to CrossRoads H-D. Participants dried out as they enjoyed the hospitality of CrossRoads Harley Davidson.
While many sponsors have contributed to every aspect of this project, the Cleveland Truck Plant Daimler/Freightliner Ride of Pride Trucks, Sparta Florist, and several others have supported this ride since its inception. We greatly appreciate their continued support! Please be sure to pencil in Saturday July 19, 2025 for the Sixth Annual Dillon’s Ride.
The 2024 Dillon’s Ride was also supported by CrossRoads Harley Davidson, Sparta VFW Post 7034, Laurel Springs VFD, Blue Star Mothers of the High Country as well as A&A Automotive.
Dillon’s Ride has offered emotional support to the family and thousands of dollars in financial support for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). The ride is scheduled annually as close to Dillon’s birthday as possible. Currently it is scheduled for the third Saturday of July each year.

e are Guardians oF tHe CHildren. and For those who don’t know us, we ride for the kids. We ride for kids who have no voice. We ride for kids who have lived in silence and fear. We seek to advocate and educate the community of child abuse and how to prevent it. For 3 days our brothers and sisters from across the U.S. and Canada came together. We honed our skills and prepared ourselves for future challenges in our fight against child abuse.
The rally was located in Mooresville this year and was basically in our backyards. Our 40 min drive was nothing compared to Winnipeg chapter’s ride totaling 1600 miles one way! It was more inspiring than anything to see the dedication and absolute drive everyone had over the weekend.
Leading up to the rally we all stayed in touch on social media. We watched as our brothers and sisters posted photos of their rides and where they were. Friday kicked off the rally with an escorted ride along the blue ridge parkway. “Black Widow” had a new camera setup that did not disappoint as she captured beautiful shots of the Viaduct and Wilson Creek Valley Overlook. We heard nothing but praise of the phenomenal job “Billings” and his road crew did keeping the ride safe. The day ended with a meet and greet at Ghostface brewing in Mooresville. Although it was still humid, it was a relief to get out of the sun and continue meeting everyone in the much needed A/C.
Day 2 of the rally was a day of learning, reflection and preparation for how we as guardians can better serve the affected families of child abuse. “Wheels” chapter President for Mooresville opened up the convention with the topic of community. How can we get more involved in our local community? The more exposure we can get into the community, the more people will know of the GOC and what we do. And in turn we hope this provides hope to a child and family who have none.
Day 3 was Guardians on Main Street Festival. The final day of the rally was a day for us to kick back and have fun. As we backed into the parking spots on Main Street all you could see was bikes lining the street and vendors setups. It was an awesome sight to behold. We visited several of the vendors as we made our way down to the opposite end of the festival. I spotted one those little trains there that are driven on streets during festivals. Obviously you know I’m a big kid and had to ride it a coupe of times. Some of the other activities for kids there were bouncy houses, basketball and a huge foam cannon. Now after all was said and done “Pistol” decided she’d ride her Can Am through the foam making for a hilarious photo afterwards. What an awesome weekend!!!!!!

(come say “HeLLo” on instagRam: #fRomtHeBitcHpad)
Gain, i Had no idea WHere We Were GoinG (HoneyBun luvs a good surprise, obviously); I packed the saddlebags and we hit the road. My Man said something about visiting an Indian Motorcycle dealership nearby… I’m not crazy about Interstate Highways, but we took the straight-shot on 85, all the way to Atlanta!
FULL THROTTLE!
Driving in Atlanta is nuts! I think that was the most congested place in all of my travels! Personally, I don’t like traffic coming up on my right, which still takes me by surprise, hard not to twitch. Breathe… Relax… It’s full-on summer, so layers suck but we were flying along and I was “comfortable”. Once we had a lookie-loo at the dealership, we headed North towards the mountains. Hmmm, I wonder where we will stop for the night? As luck would have it (sarcasm), there was some pretty daunting-looking clouds ahead of us. I thought the power of positive thinking might help, well not so much. Yup, we got caught in the rain. Refreshing. When we zip along, we don’t get wet, or should I say “I don’t get wet” cuz HoneyBun is no small guy (just the way I like him). He provides shelter for his Bitch. However, when stopping at a red, our boots began filling with water, not to mention it was rolling down my back, all the way to the Bitch Pad! And, the rain was cold up in the hills. It happened so quickly that even if we found an overhang to stop under to put on our rain gear, we still would have been as wet as we ultimately were. We pulled into the first hotel along the road, but not before being soaked to the skin. Luckily, they had a room, with a balcony facing the street (not usually what we want, but it turned out to be perfect). We slipped into some dry clothes and hung our wet things over the railing to dry.
“You aren’t made of sugar; you won’t melt in the rain!” -A Dutch saying
There just happened to be a car show in the area, and those folks spent a few hours “draggin’ main”, totally unexpected. It was a hoot! We didn’t realize we were in a “dry” county (how did that happen?), but HoneyBun justed scooted down the road for some aluminun cans, so all was well with the world.
The next morning, I loaded our bags back into the bike and we headed to the nearest gas station. And, guess who was filling up as well? Yup, a collection of those beautiful classic cars! It doesn’t get any better than this!
We took the scenic route home, meandering along 64, enjoing the country towns along the way: Cashiers, Brevard, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, to name a few. But, at some point we merged on to 40. My Man likes to hit the throttle and “boogie on home”.
Another sweet ride for the books!

The King of the Baggers race series took the motorcycle and the racing world by storm, against the opinions of the majority who didn’t think that bagger racing could or would be anything. The fact is, that the Harley-Davidson bagger you bought was made to burn up the road. You bought it to look cool and go fast. But my guess is that you, at most, you are a streetlight to streetlight champion. That bagger has all the potential to be a track bike and give you the glory that you really want and Clemmons Motorcycle Inc., can unlock that potential and keep your bike road legal.
Kenny Gilley has been turning wrenches professionally for decades and has always been a “go fast guy”. He has built a reputation for speed at local drag strips for his performance builds and has turned his sights on the bagger track racing world. Kenny knows what it will take to make you competitive on the street, the strip and the track and the has teamed up with Mike Coury the local Drag Specialties rep. Mike knows his way around the track himself and with his knowledge of Drag Specialties parts makes him Kenny’s go to guy to get the job done. Kenny built a killer “upper level” track racing bagger for the one and only Al Fliction of World Famous Tattoo Ink and Kenny, Mike and Al have been hitting up the local motorsports parks carving up the tracks and figuring out what it takes to make these baggers faster and better.
Your Bagger Wants to Go To the Track
So, here’s a question that should never have to be asked in the south….Y’all wanna go racing? It’s time to stop lolly gagging around and get your bagger ready for the track. You can’t take your stock bagger on the track, but your bagger can be track ready and remain street legal with some minor modifications. In fact, to get your bagger ready for the track you just need to remove the stock crash bars, replace the footboards with mid controls and switch out your stock handlers for t-bars or a flat style moto handlebar. Boom now your bike is road ready and nearly track ready. Track racing is all about lean angles and being able to dive into those hairpin turns, and these mods will get your bagger ready to do that. The only thing left is to remove your rearview mirrors and run some tape over the headlights to black them out, but you don’t have to do that until you get to the track. This set up is like level one track racing bagger and Clemmons Motorcycles Inc can have your bike ready to race in one week’s time at around $2300, parts and labor.
Now you’re ready to take on the track and prove to your friends and your girlfriend/wife that you really can race that bagger that you bought. VIR and Carolina Motorsports Park host track days for motorcycles and are nice facilities. You can get up to six, 20-minute sessions in during a day. They have riding instructors on hand that take out groups of riders, based on their skill level, and will help you find the lines that you need to take to correctly run the track. The track fees run around $250 for the day, and you will get plenty of racing in. Don’t forget that you will need a racing leather suit, full face
helmet, racing boots and gauntlet gloves before they will let you go racing. Drag Specialties has all these items for under $3000.
Considering that your bagger, with the set up for “level one” is still a street legal bike, you don’t need to do anything other than remove the tape from your headlights and put your mirrors back on for the ride home and you can return to track days whenever you like. Even so, the changes are minimal, and you can always slap back on your footboards if you then decided to ride long distance with that bagger.
Better yet, now that you have caught the racing fever, cause it’s near impossible to go out and carve up the track on your bagger and not want more, we can take this track racing even further. I will warn you that for the rest of this article you need to leave your significant other in the other room, unless they are gonna be racing with you. “Level Two” of the Clemmons Motorcycles Inc / Drag Specialties track racing scale gets a little more involved. Honestly, this is where it really gets fun. Sure, you can take that “level one” track ready bike to the track and have plenty of fun, but we’re past that now. We want to step up our game, right? Good, let’s add to that level one bike. Level Two adds 2 into 1 exhaust, upgraded front forks and cartridges, upgraded rear shocks, upgraded seat, and new tune. In all reality, you want this on your bike even if you’re not taking it to the track, were just talking about bringing out your bike’s potential. Level two is gonna run you around $7000 parts and labor in addition to your level one upgrades. You work hard for a better life for your motorcycle, and this is a great investment. These upgrades push your bike to greater lean angles, better handling, faster lap times and above all, closer to the glory that you deserve.
Level 3 is where the rubber meets the road. Your wife isn’t looking over your shoulder, is she? Ok good. If you are ready to step up to Level 3, like this sweet ride pictured above that Al Fliction had Clemmons Motorcycles Inc build up with Drag Specialties parts, then you are turning this bike into a race bike, and you may want to buy a new bike to ride on the street. Level 3 adds 17” front and rear wheels and tires, front and rear rotors and brake pads to the level 1 and level 2 upgrades. The level 3 upgrades will run around $8000 parts and labor and is for the more serious track racers…. that you will become after a few race sessions and some shit talking with your buddies.
Naturally this is a never-ending process of upgrades to the ever evolving Drag Specialties performance parts catalog. The fact that you have a local shop, Clemmons Motorcycles Inc, and an experienced track racer, Kenny Gilley, at your disposal makes track days on YOUR bike an attainable goal. Kenny works closely with Mike at Drag Specialties to make sure that you get the latest and greatest parts for your upgrades. So, the question is, are you ready to race….and that answer should be yes. Good. Call Kenny and get started enjoying your bagger today.

Keep Your Fork
Have you ever thought about how it will be when you die? Ever wonder how many will come to your funeral and what they will say? I guess that it all depends on you and what kind of person you were and the life you lived. Hopefully we’ll all be saved and be in Heaven, and walk on the streets of gold and have no more sickness of any kind, no more missing limbs. We’ll all be whole and having a good old time.
This is one of my favorite articles, that’s why I’m writing it again. There was a lady who went to the Doctor and she was told she had cancer and only 3 months live. She went home and called her pastor and asked him to come over. She told him what the Doctor said. They talked about her funeral, and she told him where she wanted to be buried, what dress she wanted to be buried in, what songs were to be sung, what scripture to be read, and also to put her favorite Bible in the casket with her.
Suddenly she remembered one other important thing to her. She told the pastor to be sure and put a fork in her right hand. He looked at her kind of funny and even though he agreed, he didn’t say anything. She told him that food was a very important thing at a church get together. She remembered that every time they finished the main course, they would say keep your
fork. She said, by that you knew something good was coming like cake or pie. She asked the pastor to explain about the fork in her hand at the service. The pastor told her goodbye cause he knew it would be the last time he would talk to her.
Sometimes better always comes after the main of a meal. Same as when you pass away. She knew something greater was waiting for her when she passed, Heaven. The Doctors eyes welled up with tears because he knew she had a better grasp on Heaven then he did.
Do you want to leave this earth holding a fork? Hebrews 1: 10-14. You Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth. And the Heavens are the work of Your hands. 11- They will perish but you remain; And they will but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; 12- Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But you are the same. And your years will not fail. 13- But to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” 14- Are they not ministering spirts (angels) sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation (kingdom of God)

Great American Convoy 2024 And More
By: RoB HaRpeR
Adam Sandoval’s Great American Convoy. A group of riders travel around the US, stopping at Harley-Davidson dealerships to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project. When Adam announced the Convoy for 2024, we decided to do it again. This year we would join at Roanoke and ride to Asheville then to Maryville TN with the group. After that we would split off and enjoy riding in the NC/TN/GA mountains for a few days before heading home.
Wednesday July 10, we left Wake Forest at noon and headed west on my least favorite road, I-40. Traffic wasn’t too bad, but temps were showing 98-100. In Winston-Salem we took a turn to the north and headed up Hwy 52 past Pilot Mountain to I-77. My wife’s aunt and uncle live in Thurmond NC and we haven’t seen them in a while so we detoured that direction and stayed a few hours. Then into Virginia and route 221 to Floyd VA. We had never been to Floyd but had heard about it. It lived up to its reputation as an eclectic, artsy, fun town. Dinner was at Dogtown Roadhouse. Great pizza and music.
Thursday morning, we headed to Roanoke Valley H-D to meet the Convoy. After saying hi to Adam and leaving a donation, we left ahead of the group and headed to Blowing Rock NC, rode the Blue Ridge Parkway down to Little Switzerland. Then down 226 to I-40W to Asheville for the night. The Convoy arrived after us, and a pizza and beer party commenced in the hotel parking lot and lasted well past dark.
On Friday morning we rode a short distance to Asheville H-D for fund raising event. There was a good crowd for a Friday morning. YouTube content creators Doodle on a Motorcycle and She Rides Moto joined the Convoy. They were very nice and gave encouragement to my wife as a lady rider. Cool ladies. The group left Asheville H-D and we rode west through Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Bryson City. Then on to Hwy 28 to Deal’s Gap. The Convoy would ride the Tail of the Dragon as a group. I wasn’t too excited to ride with 50+ other bikes on the Dragon, but fortunately nothing exciting
ast year my WiFe and i spent 3 days ridinG WitH
happened. Next stop was Smokey Mountain H-D in Maryville TN. Other dealerships can learn something from this place. From the vintage bikes decorating the showroom to “The Shed” a separate building with bar, restaurant, music venue and large pavilion this place is great. We had a couple beers and dinner, then headed to our stop for the night. The Lodge at Tellico in Tellico Plains TN. This would be our home for the next two nights. Friendly hosts, beautiful grounds and indoor motorcycle parking with cleaning supplies for the win!
On Saturday we rode from Tellico Plains to Lake Ocoee where we met up with a High School buddy. We rode east on Hwy 64/74 over to Ducktown, then down to Copperhill, McCaysville GA and then to Blue Ridge GA for lunch. On 64/74 we rode along the Ocoee river past the powerplant and the 1996 Olympic whitewater venue. Copperhill is aptly named as you can see copper color in the rock and the road is even stained a copper color. We had lunch in Blue Ridge GA.
On Sunday it was time to head back east. We didn’t have to be home until Monday night so we could travel a leisurely pace. We rode Cherohala Skyway to Robbinsville, then 129 to Topton. Wayah Road to US64 through Franklin, Highlands, Brevard and made it to Chimney Rock where we stopped for the night. We got a room overlooking the river below, and Chimney Rock above. The views were amazing the whole ride, and the roads offered plenty of curves and elevation changes. Good thing we weren’t in a hurry!
Monday was our last day. Our plan was to dawdle a bit in the morning and make the most of Chimney Rock area, then US64 to Morganton and get on the dreaded I-40 East. I wanted to hit the Winston-Salem to Raleigh stretch after 6pm to avoid rush hour traffic, knowing we would get home late. After checkout, we made it about a mile before our first stop. The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge. My wife was more interested in this than I was, but I admit it was a nice stop. My next goal was to find YouTube content creator Scooter Tramp Scotty. If you don’t know him, but sure to check him out on YT. He’s lived on his motorcycle since 1995. I’ve spoken to him on the phone but never met. He had set up camp in the woods behind Hog Pen Cycles in Forest City. We arrived at the shop around noon. Talked to the owner Ron for a little while. Then went out back and met Scotty and his friend Bernardo. They were getting ready to ride to Sturgis. Scotty told some stories that can’t be repeated here. After the stories and a few good laughs, we went to Waffle House for a late lunch. We made it to I-40 without issue, and merged into some heavy traffic that we hadn’t seen for several days. Back to reality. Around Statesville we got warning to put our rain suits on. I was optimistic this trip and only brought my jacket, not rain pants. (my wife planned better) We got hit with a deluge and finally had to pull off on the shoulder due to zero visibility. Once the rain lightened, we continued to the WinstonSalem area and stopped at a friend’s house. It was nice to dry out a bit and wait for the last of the rain to pass. We finally pulled into our garage at 10:15pm. We had a blast and us flatlanders are looking forward to the next mountain trip.

CustomBoardTrack Racer
evon eckert has been building highly customized bikes under the name of Whiskey tango choppers (Wtc) for a number of years. But he has always wanted to build his own interpretation of a vintage board track racer. “Bikes just don’t resemble how they started. They don’t have that same look anymore and it’s such a shocking look by comparison” he explained. After years of gathering parts he finally got a chance to build his board tracker. The bike has given the WTC treatment, as in heavily customized, and features a modified Sportster frame holding a 1999 Buell X1 Lightning engine. The engine has been rebuilt and changed over from fuel injected to carbureted running a HSR 42 flat side Mikuni carb. He cleaned up the engine, cutting off the excess “Sportster looking parts” and cutting the cam cover all the way down. The chain cover was left off as well exposing the copper chain as one of the few color accents. The vintage gas tank is from the Harley-Davidson Aermacchi days and has been split to hold both oil and gas, features visual gauges for both, and AN Fitting lines instead of rubber hoses or copper lines. The custom made scrambler height, wrapped exhaust plays into the race theme and tucks in under the upper frame by the seat leaving the swing arm and back wheel clean. The rear brake caliper is fitted inside the notched out swing arm adding to the clean look at the rear of this bike and leaving room for a convenient bottle opener. The bike is topped off with dual 26” wheels, Iron moto 4” under springer front end and ultra narrow custom handlebars. To keep the handlebars clean, and undoubtedly improve rideability, Devon fit this bike with a foot clutch and jockey shift. This bike is as custom as it gets with the WTC touch on nearly every single part of the bike. The seat is even tooled leather featuring a Whiskey Tango Choppers design. Devon added “I wanted more non-traditional stuff but keep it a race theme”. When you see this bike at bike shows across the Carolinas make sure to stop and check it out, it’s a true work of custom motorcycle art. You could also watch the video on our YouTube page…
Parts Pickin’ & Hotdogs Evel Twins Swap Meet
By: LincoLn infieLd
Wap meets are essentially biker yard sales. unlike regular yard sales that wives and girlfriends have to drag their dudes to, swap meets are paradise to dudes. At least cool dudes. I mean, dudes hear “Swap Meet” and we disappear in the shed, carport, storage unit, garage or wherever your project bike is and you start pulling out boxes of greasy parts, chrome bits and whatever else ya got stashed away. Piles are made of parts you could live without, and mental lists are made of what you need to take that next step on the heap in the corner that one day will be a righteous chopper. I try to attend as many swap meets as possible so I was stoked when Rob Whitlow of Evel Twins Motorcycle Parts announced his first ever swap meet at his shop in Winston-Salem. I didn’t need anything in particular, but I knew a lot of the vendors set up and knew it was gonna be a good hang.
It was perfect weather on July 21 and the ’51 panhead started on the first kick, as is its nature. I scooted up through the county roads to South Main St. in Winston and out to Rob’s shop. Place was slammed full of vendors and I rolled right in to The Rebel Spirit booth, literally, before parking in a row of antiques including Puput’s newly acquired 1967 H-D XLH. The pickin’ was good and even though I wasn’t looking, I secured a left side saddle bag for my 2000 Dyna Convertible. You don’t see these bags anywhere and it’s a piece the I don’t believe Harley made to last. I’m on my second set since in 20 years of riding this bike and have a 3rd set in reserve, but like I said, you don’t see them often and my buddy Ronnie Quinn had a primo left side bag. I’ll pick it up at the AMCA event in Denton on October 12 since I was riding the pan the day of this swap meet. There were parts and pieces to motorcycles, cool motorcycle memorabilia and all kinds of jokes and insults, it was a great day. It took a couple hours to check everything out and as a bonus Slick Rick’s hotdog cart was slinging glizzies so naturally, I had two.
Huge thanks to Rob for putting this thing together, I hope he has plans to do more. Rob’s shop, Evel Twins Motorcycle parts is a year-round swap meet. Rob parts out bikes and has a huge collection of vintage and modern parts nicely organized and ready to be put on your bike. If ya need something, he’s probably got it, or he knows who does! If you are looking for a local swap meet, check out the Cruisin’ Calendar. Next up is the AMCA swap meet on October 11-12, then the CBA swap meet in Salisbury November 9-10. See ya there!

Blue Crew 2nd AnnuAl MeMoriAl ride For “repo”
By waLLy weRscHing
He blue CreW laW enForCement motorCyCle Club (LEMC) is a motorcycle club that is open to all Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMT’s, Military Veterans, friends and family. On Saturday, July 27th, the Blue Crew LEMC of Shelby held their 2nd Annual Memorial Ride for Jimmy “Repo” Prince starting at their clubhouse at 2115 South Post Road in Shelby, NC. “Repo” was a member of the club and died of cancer in 2023 when he was just 40 years old. This Memorial Ride is to raise money for his daughter, Shelby.
I had been with the Blue Crew at other events but never at their clubhouse. I looked it up online, and realized that if I took a couple back roads, it was only 7 miles from my home.
I left home at 9:15AM on Saturday heading south on Rt 18. I turned left onto Davis, and after a few miles, I turned left onto Post Road. The Blue Crew clubhouse was a little way up on the right.
I walked inside with a stack of “Full Throttle” magazines, gave a donation, and placed the magazines on the table. They were glad to get the magazines because my article about the last Blue Crew event was in that issue. I picked up a score card that had all the stops for the ride where riders would draw a card. I walked outside to see the bikers roll in. After a while,
a large group of Armoured Saints Motorcycle Ministry rolled in. I was surprised to see “Papa Sno” riding a bike. He just had an accident a few weeks ago. He was riding a bike that he borrowed form one of the ladies in the ministry. He didn’t want to miss the ride for “Repo”.
After a while, Donnie Chapman, president of the chapter, called everybody inside to get the ride briefing and prayer. The inside of their clubhouse is very clean, and I could tell that they were in the process of upgrading and finishing it.
After the prayer, everybody went to their bikes. They all lined up behind Donnie. At 11:00AM, they were off to the Vintage Dog in Boiling Springs. The roar only lasted a few minutes and then they were gone, and it was quiet again. The ride was headed towards the Vintage Dog in Boiling Springs, NC. The 2nd card would be at the Bourbon Barrel Saloon in Cherryville, NC. The 3rd card would be drawn at the Whiskey Mill in Bessemer City, NC. The 4th card would be at the American Legion in Kings Mountain, NC. The 5th (last card) would be at the Grover Rural VFD in Grover, NC – where “Repo” was a member. After all the cards were drawn, the group would end at the Blue Crew clubhouse for food, awards, and live music from the Black Leaf Southern Rock Band.
The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine staff screens hundreds of jokes each month. We make no claim to being politically correct. Most PC jokes just aren’t funny. If you are offended by any of the jokes on this page, take heart in the fact that we go to great lengths to offend everyone equally. This is not a hate crime! At our house we call it “pickin” and it is symbolic of your acceptance in the group. We live in the United States Of The Offended, so get over it!!
Three men arrive in heaven at the same time. St. Peter comes out to greet them. “Sorry about this guys,” says St. Peter. “God didn’t realize just how many people would get into heaven, so we have a new policy. You now have to tell me the story of how you died, and if I think it’s sad or interesting enough, I’ll let you in.” He walks up to the first man who is a nerdy, bookish sort in a bad business suit and says, “Tell me your story.” “Okay,” says the man. “I thought I had a wonderful life. I had a beautiful wife, and we had a lovely place on the 34th floor of an apartment building. I came home from work early today, and I saw my beautiful wife sleeping naked in bed with another man’s clothes on the floor. So of course, I started looking for the bastard who slept with my wife.” “Like I said, I lived in an apartment. There weren’t that many places to hide, but I couldn’t find him anywhere! Just when I was about to go confront my wife, I see him. The bastard was hiding outside the window, holding onto the windowsill. I go up to him and started stomping on his hands over and over again, but he wouldn’t let go. I finally kicked him in the face, and he fell. Unfortunately, he landed on a bush and bounced to safety. In my anger, I grabbed my refrigerator and throw it out after him. However, the cord from the refrigerator wrapped around my leg and pulled me to my death.” St. Peter nods and says, “Your story is acceptable. Welcome to heaven.” He goes to the second man a brawny working-man type and says, “What’s your story?” “I’m a window washer,” says the man. “I’ve been a window washer for over 20 years. Well today, I’m washing the windows of the 35th floor of this apartment building when
my scaffolding breaks. I thought I was going to die, but I manage to catch myself on the windowsill of the story below. All of a sudden, this maniac comes out and starts mashing my fingers. I try my best to hold on, but he kicks me in the face, and I fall. Once again, I thought I was going to die, but I land on this hedge and bounce away no worse for the wear. I look up and BOOM. Dead. Last thing I saw was a refrigerator.” St. Peter holds back a chuckle and lets him into heaven. He goes to the third man, a ridiculously handsome fellow with sandy-blonde hair, and asks, “What’s your story?” “Alright,” says the man. “Picture this. You just got finished banging some dude’s wife. He comes home. You hide in the refrigerator.”
A man walks into a bar with a gun and yells “WHO SLEPT WITH MY WIFE! I’M GONNA KILL ‘EM!” A man calmly stands up and says, “You ain’t got enough bullets, mate.”
A statue of a man and a statue of a woman stood looking at each other for hundreds of years out in a park. One day a wizard, feeling sorry for the statues, brought them to life for 30 minutes. Right away, the two of them ran into some nearby bushes and you could hear all kinds of strange sounds and moans from there. After a while they came back out, giggling. The wizard told them “You have another 15 minutes left, if you want to have another go.” The statues looked at each other and the male statue answered “Fine, but this time you hold the pigeon and I’ll sh!t on it.”
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson were going camping. They pitched their tent under the stars and went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night Holmes woke Watson up and said: “Watson, look up at the sky, and tell me what you see.” Watson replied: “I see millions and millions of stars.” Holmes said: “And what do you deduce from that?” Watson replied: “Well, if there are millions of stars, and if even a few of those have planets, it’s quite likely there are some planets like Earth out there. And if there are a few planets like Earth out there, there might also be life.” And Holmes said: “Watson, you idiot, it means that somebody stole our tent.”
A guy asks a lawyer about his fees, “I charge $50 for three questions”, the lawyer says. “That’s awfully steep, isn’t it?”, the guy asks. “Yes, I suppose so”, the lawyer replies. “Now what’s your final question?”
Two crows were in a field when they noticed a figure that looked like a man in the distance. “See that over there? What is that?”, says the first crow. The second crows takes a long look, “That’s a scarecrow. Looks authentic, doesn’t it.” “How can you tell it’s a scarecrow and not a person?”, replies the first crow. “Look at its hand. No cellphone”, says the second crow.
I was visiting the house of a distant cousin when I saw that he was playing chess with his cat. I said that it had to be the most intelligent cat ever. My cousin replied, “Absolutely not! She has lost all her matches!”
A Horse Walks into a Bar... He approaches the bartender and says, “If there is a triangle with three sides labeled x, y, and z, and x and z are perpendicular to each other, which side is the hypotenuse?” The bartender thinks for a moment, then replies, “Y, the long face.”
A man is driving down a highway, and he hits and kills a rabbit. He gets out of the car and walks over to the rabbit. He picks it up and starts crying, thinking he’s a horrible person. Someone else driving down the highway stops and walks over to him, and asks, “What happened?” The man replies, “I hit this rabbit with my car and now it’s dead!”
The other person gets a thoughtful look on their face and goes back to their car. They rummage around in the trunk, and eventually walk back over to the man holding a spray bottle. They spray the rabbit with the bottle, and it comes back to life. It starts hopping away, turning back every few hops to wave at the two people. The man, astounded, turns to the other person and asks, “What was in that bottle?” The other person replies, “It’s hare spray.”
