Sorting is 99,9% accurate. So, what next? Tomra has its eyes on product quality and ease of use. Axel Breuer talked to Tomra’s Thomas Molnar on the Almond Conference.
Sortieren kann man mit einer Genauigkeit von 99,9%. Was kommt jetzt? Tomra, Hersteller von Sortiermaschinen, Löwen/Belgien und Bergen/Norwegen, konzentriert sich jetzt auf die Prüfung der Produktqualität und die Bedienungsfreundlichkeit. I see you brought a new machine to the Conference. Today we are launching the next generation of Nimbus BSI technology. We simply call it the Nimbus BSI+. We extended and upgraded the features of the last model. The main feature is a new sensor. It combines visible light and near-infrared. We were looking at a quite limited band of wavelengths until now. Now we can see much more. You do not have to choose which spectrum you want to use anymore. It is combined. The machines give our clients a stronger tool to detect insect bites for example, enhanced foreign material detection – and doubles. In the past, it was very difficult to detect doubles, which we can detect with the oil content. The broader spectrum of wavelength gives you more options for detection. What can you find what you could not find in the past? For foreign material, we are already in the 99.9% range. But it will give you an extra

Sie haben eine Neuentwicklung mit auf diese Konferenz gebracht. Es ist die Nimbus BSI+, weil wir den Vorgängertyp Nimbus BSI weiterentwickelt haben, genauer gesagt, den Sensor. Er kombiniert das sichtbare und das Infrarot-nahe Licht. Bis jetzt untersuchen wir mit einem ziemlich kleinen Band von Wellenlängen, eben bis jetzt. Nun sehen wir viel mehr. Es ist nicht mehr nötig, das genaue Spektrum anzuwählen. Diese Maschine gibt dem Verwender ein Instrument an die Hand, um beispielsweise Insektenstiche zu erkennen oder noch besser nach Fremdmaterial und doppelten Früchten oder Nüssen zu suchen. Bisher gestaltete es sich schwierig, doppelte zu finden. Der Schlüssel ist der Fettgehalt. Mehr Wellenlängen erweitern den Inspektionsbereich.
