PROCTER MORRIS
LEADS C-GRADE HOME FOR JACKPOT
After a weekend of wind and rain the Sydney weather Gods basked Heffron Park in perfect racing conditions for Week 4 and C grade
seized the opportunity when Procter Morris sprinted clear to claim the jackpot win.
The Champion System weekly $100 Jackpot goes to the 2 grades that miss out on overall honours each week. After 3 races the C
grade jackpot had increased $50 each week, so the top 3 place getters received a $50 bonus for winning Week 4.
The biggest smile belonged to Josh Early who rode a smart race and lead the bunch in for second overall although Dave Early’s excitement on the finish line for son Josh was also pretty obvious.
Third place Tony Graf who proved his bronze last week was no fluke
and has settled into his comeback to Heffron like he never left. Good to see Vasiki Zygouris and Peter McSwiggan in the top 5.
The chase was on in full behind but in the end A grade fell short by
the length of the straight. Jack Bennett resumed normal transmission to lead A grade home with Rohan Haydon Smith getting his best
Tuesday Night result to finish second. Marcus Culey, Jesse Coyle and Riley Field were the best of the rest.
B1 had a much tougher race after they were caught by A grade with 7 laps to go with the entire group riding strongly and positioning themselves well in the closing laps. Luke Schofield won B grade emulating his brother Jayden’s win in Week 1 and Peter O’Connor rolled
back the years and proved he’s still a force to be reckoned with by
finishing second. Ben Treble in only his second Tuesday Night race showed good race craft to complete B grade top 3.
A smaller than usual women’s field didn’t deter Emily Watts from
being in the thick of things of C grade all race and was duly rewarded for 1st women home.
