TOM BOLTON CLEAR
WINNER ON CUP DAY Tuesday Night Racing Cup Day edition delivered
sunny conditions and a clear winner when Tom Bolton
outsmarted and out sprinted a quality field to finish well
clear of Jack Bennett and Daniel Gandy. That was Bolton’s second consecutive overall A grade win placing him equal with Bennett’s two wins in the opening weeks.
Marcus Culey, Darcy Ellerm–Norton and Brad Mills where the only other riders in the mix for overall honours from
another huge field of 140 riders which blew apart in the closing laps.
Thanks to the high speed set by A grade with 2 laps to go and the fresh easterly which had everyone in the gutter
down the home straight the closing laps where a survival of the strongest and the smartest.
B grade winner Mike Bolt proved he had both attributes when crossed 8th overall while a couple of places back
Peter O’Connor proved his smarts yet again as runner up. Ben Treble continues to impress with another 3rd place in B grade.
Matt Curtin finally balanced patience with his new strength in cycling to win C grade with an impressive top 15 finish which has now earned him a start in B grade. Vas Zy-
gouris had his best result to date just edging Dave Gardner in a photo finish for 2nd in C grade.
Great to see another strong field of 10 women starting with Emma Coral Roberts winning first female honours and a
overall finish just outside the top 20. Grace Brunton Makeham grabbed her 1st women podium for second while regular womens podium Nicole Wilson was third.
Another exciting nights racing with all place getters receiving a $50 Cup Day bonus.
