sydney city skoda point score series
JACK BENNETT CONTINUES HIS WINNING STREAK WITH ROUND 1 WIN New Year, New Sponsor – Sydney City Skoda, but the same old result when Jack Bennett won a convincing sprint up
against the Crido brothers Jonno and Luke Cridland with Alex Nazarewicz close by in fourth. It might be a new decade but
there’s no stopping the ageless Liam Kelly who trailed home to grab the last point for fifth.
The 2020 Sydney City Skoda Summer Series got off to a great start in perfect race conditions and will be decided over 10 rounds with the finale on Tuesday 24th March.
Strong fields across all 3 grades and great to see over a dozen new riders and a few riders returning to racing for the first time
this season. Light NE winds meant most grades where going to stay intact and the handicap came together as predicted with
3 laps to go as B grade caught C grade and a lap later A grade stormed to the front on the bell lap.
With Jack Bennett wrapping up the overall win all eyes turned to the other grades to decide who will be wearing the new
Champ Sys leader’s jerseys for each grade leader in the pointscore.
In B grade it was the Schofield brothers who dominated the
points with Luke crossing the line 6th overall to win B grade and Jayden getting the points for 3rd. Peter O’Connor continued his early season form with 2nd and just might be able to add to his overall wins from 2013 and 2015.
C grade winner Nosh Mistry had an impressive top 20 finish to win C grade and was chased hard by Will Heffernan and Sam Carroll who were 2ndand 3rd.
Emma Coral Roberts got her year off to a go start with a win in
the women’s grade and will be keen to go one better than 2019
when she missed out by 1pt. Nicole Wilson and Harriet Lowden both rode well to finish and claim points.
